“Eminem was able to skate by in the early years of his career due to his proximity to pop music and artist. Beefing with Britney spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Moby Etc. He wasnt necessarily a rapper more an Anti-pop star making jokey songs.

He only was able to make "real hip hop" once he aligned himself with real rappers like 50 cent and the G unit.

Yes Eminem is incredibly lyrically talented but his high level of technic isnt rare or unique.

Black artist that rap their ass of like Eminem stay in the shadows (i.e. Black thought, Cyhi) we don't support that "too complex" but white ppl eat that shit up when it's one of them. ( That how Macklemore got the Grammy over Kendrick)

So if Eminem were black that jokey shit at the beginning of his career would've never worked.

If he were black all the white celebs he was attached to would have ignored him completely.

If he were black he wouldn't have the value of being "Thee white rapper"
