Their seizure forced Pono's sweet hand.* She fought for her egg, her star-child, But her body, indeed, was too mild. Her death brought rage-grief To the Mother. "YOU THIEF. You walk now! My gift is defiled." Kororā, heart-broken, sky-bound Where she waits, for a hatchling's small sound. While the quiet egg sleeps, Pono's body she keeps 'Til a new Aumārire is found. *flipper, I know.
