Miniature Project: Summer Afternoon (Cuteroom)

My second miniature kit was a Cuteroom kit that I also got for $12 at the same thrift store where I bought Cathy's Flower House. It's a fourth-wall style set that makes a little scene in a box-frame.

This time I was a lot more confident making changes across the board, from extra components on the dresser and table, to creating a different lighting system and plants.

Whoever lives here has just made themselves a tasty afternoon tea of coffee and macarons, and settled in to read a book. I wonder what called them away?

I'm particularly proud of the tiny SLR camera I made from black card and tin foil. The bird portraits are from a greetings card with brown paper rope as frames.

The jam-jars and fruit bowl are the main jem-originals on the dresser, aside from extra books and shells and plants. The preserves are little off-cuts of clear tubes stuffed with jam-colored yarn, and the fruits are mostly beads.

This kit was pretty cool, but of a lower quality than the Rolife kits. Most of the elements were paper-craft rather than solid crafting items (all the original plates, cups, figurines etc were just paper). The furniture however is all cute as hell and its cool that it makes a little shadow box to finish - even if the manufacturer didn't account for the bulky battery box!

DIY Cuteroom Box Theatre - Cherry Blossom (Base part)

Long story short, my kit came with uncomplete part on one box and other with double part on the other box kit. So if you see in the base (picture 1) i have to make some modifications from this box kit and other kit. And also i have to re-paint the base kit. It's pretty crooked when i promised myself to make a pretty and tidy result, I felt really upset during the process, but i am mostly happy with the result (picture 2).

I had a pretty rough time with the electricity box. it was hard to open i had to do some forces on the electricity box, but i also made some modifications over the electricity box and made it happen.
