Transform Your Space with Garage Cabinets in California
When it comes to organizing your home, the garage often gets overlooked, yet it can be one of the most versatile spaces in your house. Garage cabinets in California are an essential investment for those looking to maximize storage and enhance the functionality of this often-underutilized area. Whether you're dealing with seasonal gear, tools, or general clutter, customized garage cabinets offer a solution tailored to your needs.
Why Opt for Garage Cabinets in California?
Garage cabinets in California are not just about aesthetics; they're about practical solutions that can handle the diverse needs of homeowners in the Golden State. With the fluctuating climate and varied usage, California garages often require durable, weather-resistant materials. Local suppliers understand these needs, offering cabinets that are built to withstand the elements while providing optimal organization.
Benefits of Custom Garage Cabinets
Tailored to Your Space: One of the main advantages of garage cabinets in California is that they can be customized to fit the exact dimensions and layout of your garage. This means you get cabinets that fit perfectly, making the most of every inch of available space.
Enhanced Organization: Custom garage cabinets allow you to design a system that meets your specific needs. Whether you need shelves for sporting equipment, drawers for tools, or specialized compartments for garden supplies, you can create a storage solution that keeps everything neatly organized and easy to access.
Increased Property Value: High-quality garage cabinets in California can also increase the value of your home. A well-organized garage can be a significant selling point, offering potential buyers a clean, functional space that enhances the overall appeal of your property.
Design Considerations
When planning your garage cabinets in California, consider the following design elements:
Material Selection: Choose materials that are both durable and resistant to moisture. Options like laminate, metal, or treated wood are popular choices for their longevity and ease of maintenance.
Color and Finish: While functionality is key, the visual appeal of your cabinets matters too. Opt for colors and finishes that complement your garage’s overall look and match your personal style.
Modular Options: Modular cabinets offer flexibility, allowing you to reconfigure your setup as your storage needs change. This adaptability is particularly useful in a dynamic environment like a garage.
Installation and Maintenance
Proper installation is crucial for ensuring the longevity and effectiveness of your garage cabinets in California. Professional installation services can help you avoid common pitfalls and ensure that your cabinets are securely mounted and aligned. Additionally, regular maintenance, such as cleaning and checking for wear and tear, will help keep your cabinets in top condition.
Conclusion
Investing in garage cabinets in California is a smart choice for anyone looking to enhance their home's functionality and organization. By opting for customized solutions, you can create a space that not only meets your storage needs but also adds value and aesthetic appeal to your property. Whether you’re looking to revamp your existing garage or plan a new one, well-designed cabinets are key to achieving an organized and efficient space.

Oh, puh-leeze! The description calls this a custom made home with high end finishes and lavish interior design. It's a 2023 new build in Poncha Springs, CO w/5bds, 3ba. Asking $825k + $33mo. HOA. The house may have high end materials, but they were either found in a construction site dumpster or Odd Lots. Check this out. Oh, and it's been sitting on the market for 305 days, almost a year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Open the front door and Hello! Oh, I forgot to mention leftover rolls of discontinued wallpaper, too. The chandelier is nice, but they saved a lot, so they could afford to splurge.
Tumblr media
Closeup of the fireplace.

The dining room and kitchen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Different cabinets and backsplash tiles. I'm not a matchy-matchy person, but this is something else. It looks like they made the cabinets b/c they have door fronts & molding with beadboard sides.
Tumblr media
Bath #1. I think I saw those sinks at Home Goods, with the pasta bowls.
Tumblr media
More cabinets, backsplash tiles, wallpaper & flooring varieties in the laundry room. Usually in a new build they give you a w/d pair with the appliances.
Tumblr media
I think that this is a family room.
Tumblr media
It's open to another smaller room.
Tumblr media
I guess this is a flex-space. Seriously, they've gone overboard w/the chandeliers.
Tumblr media
Oh, no they did not put wood in the shower.
Tumblr media
Another assortment of building materials.
Tumblr media
There's a walk-in closet.

Bedroom #1.

Bedroom #2.

I don't know which room is the primary. Maybe it's this one, b/c it seems to be the largest.
Tumblr media
Bedroom #4.
Tumblr media
The 2nd bath. Interesting combination.
Tumblr media
The garage is surprisingly plain.
Tumblr media
The home is on a 6,625 sq. ft. lot.

Patchwork Pet Rescue | Sims 2 Lot Download
This home was designed for those sims who love a good rescue story and want to run their own small, in-home shelter, or foster program. It’s also nearly CC-free!
Tumblr media
The main house features 3+ bedrooms, 2 of which have been converted into rooms for the animals to stay in, and one of which is an actual bedroom. It also has an office downstairs that could be converted into an extra bedroom, or pet room.
Outside there is a separate intake/medical exam center. You can see it here in the back yard view:
Tumblr media
Here is the floorplan:
1st floor: Clockwise from Left: kitchen, dining room, powder-room, garage, living room, office.
Tumblr media
2nd floor: Clockwise from left: Bedroom, bathroom, hallway, bird room, and puppy or kitten room.
Tumblr media
Intake/exam center:
Tumblr media
Patchwork Pet Rescue Center: MF | SFS
All EPs and SPs are required.
*I highly recommend that you have the PerfectPlants mod from TwoJeffs*
I’ve run this home through the Lot Compressor so any random references to sims that aren’t there should be removed. I have also run this lot through the Lot Cleaner to remove any bits of buggy code. This lot comes with a shiny custom thumbnail so it has even more curb appeal in your Lots and Houses bin! 😄
This home has only 2 pieces of CC, which you may already have in your game. These can easily be replaced or omitted if you don’t want them though.
CC List (Included): -Maxis Match Wall Cabinets by CTNutmegger at ModtheSims -Functional Washer and Dryer by mustluvcats at ModtheSims
I ALWAYS recommend using the Sims 2 Pack Clean installer to install lot files.

AN: I've really enjoyed writing this series. I'm deeply appreciative of all the feedback and reblogs. They've fueled my writing and truly made me thankful for each and every one of you.
Series masterlist
Summary: Our darling couple take the first step toward the rest of their lives
Tumblr media
It's a cold November morning and once again FRIDAY is calling your name, dragging you from your precious sleep.
"Nooo," you grumble, nuzzling into Loki's chest and tugging the fur comforter over your head. It collides with his nose.
He snorts, pulling it back below his chin. "I'll take it from here, FRIDAY.
"Darling, you do need to get up." He shifts beneath you.
"No," you whine, your voice muffled by the blanket. "I want to stay like this forever." You reach your arm over his bare chest, squeezing it for emphasis.
"As much as I'd enjoy that," he chuckles, "your absence downstairs could cause significant upheaval. Not to mention the breakdown of our fearless leader.
"You weren't here when he went on his feeble-minded caffeine fast. There are beings in Niflhel far more pleasant than our dear Captain without his 'morning Joe.'"
"But you're warm, and...you smell good, and...and...I love you," you say between yawns, before peaking up at him with a pout.
"I love you too," he smiles and gives your forehead a peck. "That doesn't change the fact that it's Monday and you have to go to work."
You throw off the blankets with a dramatic huff. "Fiiine. I hate it when you're right."
Loki chuckles and grabs a robe as he stands, handing another to you.
First things first when you get in the elevator. "FRIDAY, please preheat the ovens for kolaches and turnovers, then check the A-Team agenda and load orders for whoever's on call to the POS."
You can't fault Tony's design; two separate confection ovens, freezer and refrigerator on a vertical conveyor. The contraption stands in the back of your circular kiosk cafe along with a cooling/rising rack, sink, employee entrance, and ample counter space.
Nearest the lobby doors sit the POS station, espresso machines, grab&go fridge, and pastry display. In addition to base cabinets, there's bulk storage accessible via elevator to the garage level. With a voice command to FRIDAY, a central circle in the floor descends while a safety barrier ascends into the workspace.
Plenty of square footage for three people, and on a Monday you need all the help you can get.
Chrysa clocks in with a muttered "Morning" as you're reviewing the Avengers' order:
Medium red eye, black - 'Nat's home from her mission and there's a morning debrief.'
Large dark roast with a shot of DynaPep - 'Tony, apparently trying to kill himself after a night of post-mission "tinkering."'
Extra large cup of Joe, extra cream and an order of mixed pastries - 'Steve got his run in and feels guilty about the early debrief.'
Small cocoa with cinnamon and extra whip - 'Peter's going to be late for school. Really, Steve needs to put that kid's education first.'
Medium Dutch apple pie a la mode latte - 'Thor, making his way through the seasonal menu.'
Extra large dirty chai - 'Scott just got into town.'
You notice a distinct lack of Earl Grey with excessive honey - 'Loki went back to bed. Dick.'
The next few hours are busy, as to be expected. They have you, Chrysa and Dementy rushing around, baking, steaming, and ringing up customers as quickly as possible.
Things begin to slow by 9:30, and around 10 Wanda wanders down in sweats and clogs, a maroon hoodie covering her unbrushed hair.
You start on her turek as soon as you see her. "Hey, what would you like for breakfast? And weren't you supposed to be at the debrief this morning?"
"Hmm...a pumpkin muffin," she smirks. "I popped my head out, told the kid to keep his mouth shut, and bewitched Steve to think I was there before going back to bed.
"I'm not getting up after three hours sleep just to tell Steve everything went as planned."
"What about Nat and Tony?" you ask.
"Stark sent Mark 93 and Nat doesn't sleep half the time anyway."
Wednesday afternoon finds you at a boutique with Nat, Wanda, and Hope, who's visiting for the annual gala. The latter, focused as always, has chosen six sleek, black, barely differentiated dresses and hovers with them hanging over her shoulder while the rest of you decide.
"I can't believe it's been a year since we met," you say as you hold a one-shoulder gown against yourself in the mirror.
"You should try that one on," Nat says, her sultry voice soft but insistent. "It has been a year, hasn't it? So this is a particularly special gala. Is that why you're only looking at dresses in Loki's colors?"
You grin down at the gold taffeta. "Partially. It's more a feeling he's going to do something especially dramatic? I don't know what, exactly, but I haven't seen him this cagy since my birthday. He sent half the people in Times Square to his pocket dimension because I turned down the street before the flash mob was in place."
Wanda snickers.
"You're kidding!" says Hope.
"No," Nat replies, "There was a huge fallout when Steve got back from his 'emergency mission.' Something about 'We don't know if pocket dimensions are safe for humans...that's abduction...what if someone had gotten hurt?!'"
"And don't forget," adds Wanna, "'If you're so concerned, Rogers, I'm happy to send you in there to create safety protocols. We could all use the break from your incessant nagging.'"
You were going to spend Saturday lounging around the flat until you needed to get ready, but Wanda had different plans. She insisted you and the rest of the girls all have a spa day. Thus, in the late afternoon you're stepping off the elevator on your floor with goodbyes to Nat, Shuri, Wanda, Hope and Pepper.
You open the door to find Loki already dressed and pacing nervously in the front room. His curls are raked in lines from the many times he's run his fingers along his scalp. "Loki?" you say. He freezes like a child caught sneaking candy, a hand shooting to his breast pocket before he takes a breath to steady himself. "Is everything ok?"
"Yes," he attempts a carefree smile. "Of course, darling, everything is wonderful. I...uh, I was just concerned you might not make it back in time to get ready."
You raise an eyebrow, amused by his ironically poor lie. "You do realize we don't have to be downstairs for another two hours, right?" Cupping his cheeks, you pull him down to kiss him. "Whatever it is you're so nervous about, I promise it will be ok. God or not, no one is perfect, and I'm not going anywhere."
He calms a bit. "Right. Well, I'm just going to, ah, see if Stark needs any help getting things organized." He checks his pocket again before rushing out the door.
You do your hair and makeup, wandering around the bedroom in only shoes and panties as your gown simply isn't bra-friendly. You're unhooking the dress from its hanger when you hear the front door open.
"Great timing," you call out. "I'm going to need help with this zipper."
Loki enters the room. "Ravishing as always, darling," he grins at your bare chest. "I could help with a lot more than your zipper, you know."
"Says the god who was worried we'd be late?" You smirk.
"Right," he chuckles. "Let's get you into that so I can get you out of it later."
The event space is nearly unrecognizable; Tony's modern minimalism nowhere to be seen.
The chrome columns are covered in black silk, green velvet held against them in sandglass form by thick gold cords. Grand chandeliers twinkle from the high ceilings, alight with five thousand candle flames. A brass quintet sits atop a raised stage opposite the bar, the dance floor spread between them.
"You weren't kidding when you said you'd help Stark," you smile, nodding at the decor. "It's very you." Standing on your toes, you give his cheek a peck.
"Thank you," he takes a steadying breath. "Shall we, er, have a drink? Perhaps some appetizers? Oh look! There's T'Challa and Shuri catching up with my brother. Why don't you join them while I find us sustenance."
You wander over to the group, letting your anxious lover gather food. "Hey," you greet, lightly grazing Shuri's shoulder as you siddle between her and T'Challa.
The king greets you with a tight hug. "It has been far too long. You have to come visit us in Wakanda.
"Okoye keeps talking about getting a Starbucks, but I told her there's better coffee to be had from international sources."
Thor lights up as his brother joins the group, handing you a cocktail and a plate of hors d'oeuvres. "Are you ready?" he asks Loki, a shiteating grin on his face.
"Will you desist?!" Loki says through gritted teeth, attempting to surreptitiously stomp on his brother's toes.
You pop a stuffed mushroom in your mouth and pretend not to notice while you listen to Shuri describe her latest invention. As your discussion of the device begins to dwindle, you hear the opening notes of a familiar waltz.
Loki clears his throat, his hand extended. "May I?"
You take it and he leads you to the dance floor. You can't take your eyes off him. His floor craft is perfection as together you dance smoothly through the other couples.
You know not just the steps, but how he'll take them, making reflexive shifts in your footwork to blend precisely into his.
His hands are comforting as he holds you, his natural scent like burning pine and fresh snow. His vibrant green eyes are full of awe of you and the glowing adoration reflected on your face.
When the song ends, he spins you to the center of the dancefloor. Your skirt settles and you find him kneeling as he holds your hand and a stunning emerald ring.
"Darling," he looks at you with batted breath. "Will you do me the honor of being my princess?"
"Loki, oh my god! Yes, yes, of course I will. Nothing could make me happier!" As soon as he slips the ring on, you pull him into a fervent kiss and the band strikes up the wedding march. You know that wherever you are, so long as you're with him, you'll be home.

Maximizing Space and Layout in a Modern Garage Conversion
Tumblr media
A garage conversion can breathe new life into an underused space, turning it into a stylish and functional part of your home. Whether you’re creating a home office, guest suite, or cozy living area, a smart approach to layout and space optimization is key. Here’s how to make the most of every inch during your garage remodeling & conversion, ensuring a space that’s practical and welcoming.
Plan for an Open Layout An open layout can make a converted garage feel more spacious and inviting. By minimizing walls and partitions, you can create a versatile space that accommodates different activities. For example, an open-plan living room can double as a home office or workout area. Open layouts are perfect for maintaining a modern aesthetic, allowing light to flow throughout the space and making the room feel larger.
Focus on Multi-Functional Design When space is limited, every feature should serve more than one purpose. In your garage remodeling & conversion, consider incorporating multi-functional furniture like fold-out sofas, Murphy beds, or built-in desks. These pieces allow you to adapt the space based on your needs, whether it’s hosting guests or creating a quiet work-from-home corner. By prioritizing flexibility, you’ll maximize the functionality of your converted space without sacrificing style.
Use Smart Storage Solutions Storage is often a challenge in garage conversions, but with some creative thinking, you can keep the space organized and clutter-free. Consider adding built-in shelving, wall-mounted cabinets, or floating shelves to maximize vertical space. A custom storage wall can hold everything from books to workout gear while keeping the floor area clear. These solutions not only help optimize the layout but also maintain a clean, modern look that’s ideal for any garage remodeling & conversion.
Maximize Natural Light Natural light can transform a garage conversion from a dark, enclosed space into a bright, welcoming area. During your garage remodeling & conversion, consider installing large windows, glass doors, or even skylights to bring in as much natural light as possible. A bright space feels larger and more open, making it ideal for a modern design. If privacy is a concern, opt for frosted or tinted glass to maintain a balance between light and seclusion.
Define Zones Without Walls To keep the open feel while still creating distinct areas, try using design elements like rugs, furniture arrangement, or partial dividers to define different zones. For instance, you can use a sectional sofa to separate a seating area from a workspace, or a bookshelf to create a subtle division between a bedroom nook and a living area. These techniques help maintain flow while giving the space structure, making your garage remodeling & conversion more versatile.
Invest in Proper Insulation and Ventilation Comfort is key when converting a garage into a living space. Since garages are not usually built for living, adding insulation to walls, ceilings, and floors is crucial to maintain a comfortable temperature year-round. Proper ventilation is also important, especially if the space includes a bathroom or kitchen area. A well-insulated and ventilated space not only feels more like home but also ensures that your garage remodeling & conversion adds value to your property.
Choose Space-Saving Fixtures and Appliances If your conversion includes a small kitchenette or bathroom, look for space-saving fixtures that keep things compact without compromising functionality. Wall-mounted sinks, compact appliances, and corner showers can fit seamlessly into tight areas. These choices help free up floor space, allowing you to create a modern, uncluttered look that aligns with the rest of your home’s design.
Blend the Design with the Rest of Your Home For a smooth transition between your converted garage and the main house, use design elements that match your home’s overall style. Whether it’s matching the flooring, paint colors, or hardware finishes, these small touches make the space feel like a natural extension of your home. This attention to detail ensures that your garage remodeling & conversion doesn’t just add space—it enhances the overall flow and aesthetic of your property.
Make It Your Own with Personal Touches Ultimately, your garage conversion should reflect your unique style and needs. Add personal touches like artwork, plants, or custom lighting fixtures to make the space feel warm and inviting. A few well-chosen decorative elements can transform a practical design into a room that feels truly special, making your garage remodeling & conversion a success.
By focusing on layout, storage, and smart design choices, you can turn your garage into a space that’s as functional as it is stylish. With the right approach, your garage remodeling & conversion can provide the perfect blend of modern design and everyday practicality. Ready to start transforming your garage? Begin planning today, and make the most of this exciting opportunity to expand your home’s living space.

In Miyagi, Iwaizumi tours a spotless, newly-renovated house with little interest—until he steps into the worn, unfinished garage. In the raw imperfection of the space, he finds a spark of connection, a glimmer of purpose. This decision marks the beginning of something new as he commits to a place where he can start to rebuild, finding potential in what others would overlook.
-
Chapter 4 - Foundations
The real estate agent’s heels clicked against the hardwood floor as she led Iwaizumi through the front door, her voice smooth and rehearsed as she gestured to the entryway. “This one is a recent listing—three bedrooms, two baths, with an open floor plan and plenty of natural light,” she said, flipping a switch to illuminate the spotless living room. “It’s been recently renovated, so it’s move-in ready.”
Iwaizumi barely looked up, nodding automatically as he stepped inside. The space was modern, airy, meticulously staged with sleek furniture and pops of tasteful decor. A large window overlooked a landscaped backyard, the view pristine and carefully designed. He could see why people would be drawn to a place like this—everything in its place, no rough edges, no surprises. The kind of house someone could settle into and build a future.
But that wasn’t what he was looking for.
“Nice place,” he muttered, more to fill the silence than anything else. The words felt hollow, echoing awkwardly in the sterile air.
The agent smiled, either oblivious to his lack of enthusiasm or too polite to mention it. She moved on to the living area, gesturing broadly at the space. “There’s plenty of room here for entertaining,” she said, her tone bright. “A fireplace, newly installed, perfect for cozy nights in.”
Iwaizumi’s gaze drifted over the fireplace—sleek, modern, and completely untouched. He tried to imagine himself sitting here, staring into the flames, letting the quiet settle around him. But the image wouldn’t come. It felt like trying on someone else’s clothes, a life that didn’t belong to him.
He let the agent’s words blur into the background, her voice little more than background noise as she pointed out the carefully chosen features. Everything about this house was pristine, polished, designed to appeal to an idea of comfort and stability that felt as foreign to him as the quiet streets of Miyagi had once been.
She led him into the kitchen next, a space that gleamed with stainless steel appliances and glossy countertops. “This is a chef’s dream,” she said, motioning to the double oven, the expansive island, the custom cabinets. “High-end finishes, perfect for someone who loves to cook.”
Iwaizumi gave a noncommittal grunt, his gaze skimming over the surfaces. He’d never had much use for a kitchen, not really. In Tokyo, his meals had been quick, utilitarian—something to fuel his body before the next race, the next training session. He hadn’t bothered with cooking or elaborate meals. His life had been defined by movement, by purpose. Kitchens, appliances, countertops… they were part of a world he’d never really had time for.
He stepped back, letting the agent continue her pitch as she moved into the hallway. “The master bedroom is just down here,” she said, gesturing for him to follow. “It’s spacious, plenty of closet space, and there’s a beautiful en-suite bathroom.”
He trailed after her, glancing around the master bedroom without much interest. The bed was large and inviting, draped in plush blankets and pillows arranged just so. The walls were painted a soft, neutral color, the furniture modern but comfortable. The en-suite bathroom boasted a large soaking tub and a glass shower, everything gleaming and new.
But none of it mattered. The whole house felt like a display, a perfect image of what a life could be, but one that felt entirely out of reach. He’d come here looking for something, but standing in this spotless room, he couldn’t feel a connection to any of it.
The agent led him through the other bedrooms, each one as pristine and perfectly staged as the last. An office space, a guest room—he barely glanced inside. She pointed out the backyard through a set of sliding glass doors, talking about the privacy, the landscaping, the potential for outdoor gatherings. But he could already feel his attention slipping, his gaze drifting back toward the hallway, searching for… he wasn’t even sure what.
After a while, he realized he hadn’t been listening at all, his mind drifting through thoughts of old racetracks, the sound of engines, the scent of oil and gasoline. The idea of being here, in this perfect house, felt almost claustrophobic.
The agent paused, glancing at him with a hint of hesitation, as if she could sense his lack of interest but wasn’t sure how to address it. “There’s… one more thing to show you,” she said finally, a note of uncertainty in her voice. She gestured toward a door near the kitchen, off to the side. “It’s not a major feature, but… there’s a garage. It could be useful for storage, or… projects, if you’re into that sort of thing.”
Iwaizumi’s attention sharpened. A garage. That was the first thing she’d said that felt remotely relevant.
He followed her to the door, a faint flicker of curiosity stirring as she turned the handle and stepped back to let him inside. The space was dark and cold, the faint smell of oil and dust hanging in the air. The garage was bigger than he’d expected—high ceilings, unfinished walls, and a cracked concrete floor that bore the stains of years of use. A single bulb hung from the ceiling, casting a weak yellow light over the space, illuminating a few old tools left abandoned on a shelf in the corner.
It was rough. Worn. Unpolished in a way that none of the other rooms had been.
For the first time that day, Iwaizumi felt… something. He stepped inside, letting his fingers graze the rough concrete wall, taking in the empty space, the echoes of lives that had passed through here. This wasn’t like the rest of the house. This was a place where things had happened—where things could still happen. It wasn’t pristine, but it was real.
“You could turn this into a workshop,” the agent said, her voice more tentative now, as though she wasn’t sure why he was showing such interest in this dingy corner of the property. “With a bit of work, of course. Maybe fix up the walls, install some better lighting…”
But he barely heard her. His mind was already drifting, imagining what this space could become. He could almost see it—the shelves lined with tools, an engine hoisted up on a rig, the floor littered with parts and bolts and the smell of grease. He hadn’t been in a garage like this since high school, since those long, hot afternoons spent with Oikawa, tinkering with a beat-up old car that had barely run.
He could feel the ghost of that memory now—the weight of a wrench in his hand, the heat of the sun filtering through the open garage door, Oikawa’s laugh ringing out as they argued over parts and placement. Back then, they’d been unstoppable, two kids who thought they could fix anything, build anything, if they just worked hard enough.
“Like I said, it’s not much,” the agent was saying, her voice almost apologetic. “But it’s a decent space if you’re looking for… I don’t know, a hobby or something.”
A hobby. The word felt hollow, but he let it slide. This wasn’t about a hobby. It was about having something real, something he could hold onto. He hadn’t come back to Miyagi just to walk through perfect houses and picture-perfect lives. He’d come here because Tokyo had lost its meaning, because he was drifting, because he needed something to keep him grounded.
This garage… it wasn’t much. But it was a start.
“I’ll take it,” he said abruptly, cutting off whatever the agent had been about to say.
She blinked, visibly startled. “Oh! Are you sure? You haven’t seen the whole backyard, and there’s a lovely patio—”
“No,” he said, more firmly this time. “This one’s fine. Just… send me the paperwork.”
The agent hesitated, her eyes flicking from him to the dingy walls, as though she couldn’t quite understand what he saw here. But she recovered quickly, nodding. “Of course! I’ll have everything ready by tomorrow.”
She made a few notes on her clipboard, still glancing around as if hoping he’d change his mind. But Iwaizumi didn’t waver. This wasn’t about the house, or the view, or the perfect kitchen. It was about this space, about the possibility that lay within it. It was about having something to build, something to fix, something he could throw himself into.
As he left the property, he didn’t look back at the pristine rooms or the carefully manicured lawn. All he could think about was that garage and everything it could become. He wasn’t sure what he was rebuilding, or even who he was doing it for. But for the first time in a long time, he felt like he had something to look forward to.
-
Iwaizumi stood in the middle of the living room, hands on his hips as he surveyed the open boxes around him. A week had passed since he’d signed the papers and moved into the house, and it still didn’t feel real. Most of his stuff was still packed, scattered across the floor in a haphazard maze of cardboard and bubble wrap. The walls were bare, the rooms echoing with emptiness, and he hadn’t bothered to bring much in the way of furniture from Tokyo.
His phone buzzed on the counter, cutting through the silence. He picked it up and saw Bokuto’s name flashing on the screen.
He let out a sigh before answering. “Yo.”
“Iwa-chan!” Bokuto’s voice was bright, cheerful, as if he were shouting across a crowded room instead of speaking into a phone. “How’s Miyagi treating you? Living the good life yet?”
Iwaizumi snorted, glancing around at the boxes stacked against the walls. “Yeah, if the good life means unpacking boxes and trying to figure out where everything’s supposed to go. It’s… quiet here.”
“Quiet’s good! I bet you’ve got so much space now, though. You were always in those tiny apartments in Tokyo.”
“Yeah, it’s… it’s a family house, I guess. A lot bigger than I need.”
As he said it, Iwaizumi felt a strange discomfort settle in his chest. A family house. The words felt foreign in his mouth. This place had three bedrooms, an open living room, a kitchen that could actually fit more than one person. It was meant for more than just him. The thought made his throat tighten, a vague unease spreading through him.
“Oh! That’s great!” Bokuto laughed. “So when are you gonna start filling it up? Miyagi’s got some nice locals, right?”
Iwaizumi rolled his eyes. “Yeah, Bokuto. I’m gonna go out and start a family just because I have some extra rooms.”
“Hey, don’t knock it! You never know what could happen,” Bokuto teased, his voice cheerful. “Kuroo’s always saying you need to stop being such a grump and let yourself have a little fun.”
“Kuroo can mind his own business,” Iwaizumi muttered, but there was no heat in his voice. He moved to the nearest box and pulled out a stack of dishes, setting them on the counter with a dull clink. Plates. Bowls. Things he never thought twice about in Tokyo, where most of his meals had been taken on the go. Here, though, there was a full dining area, a large table that practically demanded to be filled.
He paused, a strange thought flickering through his mind. Oikawa always wanted a space like this , he realized, unbidden. When they were kids, Oikawa had talked about big kitchens and dining tables, throwing around ideas of how he’d host dinner parties, invite friends over, have “real” meals. Iwaizumi had always laughed it off back then, telling him he was ridiculous. Now, standing here, with a dining room too big for one person, the memory stung in a way he hadn’t expected.
“Iwaizumi?” Bokuto’s voice broke through his thoughts. “You still there?”
“Yeah. Just… thinking.”
“What about? The quiet getting to you already?”
He huffed out a bitter laugh, shifting the stack of plates from one side of the counter to the other, trying to shake the odd feeling in his chest. “Just realizing… this place isn’t really for me. It’s got all this space, like it’s expecting me to have… I don’t know. People. A family, maybe.”
“Hey, maybe you just need time to settle in,” Bokuto offered, sounding surprisingly thoughtful. “I mean, you didn’t come back to Miyagi to just sit around, right?”
Iwaizumi’s grip tightened on the plate he was holding. Sit around. He hadn’t really thought about what he was here to do—he’d just known he needed to leave Tokyo, needed to come somewhere quieter, somewhere that didn’t feel like a daily reminder of everything he’d lost. He’d told himself he was here to find peace, to rebuild. But now, he wasn’t sure what he was building.
“Yeah,” he muttered, not sure if he believed it. “Something like that.”
He could hear Bokuto sigh on the other end, like he wanted to say more but wasn’t sure how to phrase it. “Hey… you’re doing okay, right?”
Iwaizumi’s gaze drifted to the boxes stacked along the walls, filled with things he’d never even used in Tokyo. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just… still unpacking.”
Bokuto’s voice turned teasing again, trying to lighten the mood. “Hey, you know what would be fun? Invite Oikawa over! You guys could catch up. I bet he’d love to see the place.”
At the mention of Oikawa, Iwaizumi’s stomach twisted. He let out a harsh, bitter laugh, more at himself than anything else. “Yeah. Sure. Like that’s what this place needs—Oikawa here, telling me where to put the furniture.”
But the words tasted strange on his tongue. Because as he looked around, he realized he’d been setting things up with Oikawa in mind. Without meaning to, he’d arranged the kitchen to look like those “dream setups” Oikawa used to talk about. He’d put extra chairs around the dining table, as if expecting someone to join him. Even the layout of the living room had a familiar feel, like it was made for company.
He gripped the edge of the counter, a surge of frustration bubbling up inside him. What am I doing? he thought, his jaw clenched. I didn’t come here to play house.
But the truth gnawed at him, raw and unyielding. Deep down, he knew he wasn’t just building this place for himself. Part of him was setting it up like… like he was making space for something, or someone . And that thought made him angrier than he’d care to admit.
“Anyway,” he muttered, trying to shake off the discomfort. “I’ll get back to unpacking. I’m sure I’ll feel more settled once I stop tripping over boxes.”
“Alright, alright,” Bokuto said, not pressing any further. “But remember, man—let yourself relax a little. You don’t have to turn this place into something right away. Just let it… happen, you know?”
Iwaizumi forced a laugh. “Yeah. Sure.”
They ended the call, and he shoved his phone back into his pocket, letting out a long, heavy sigh. He’d thought coming here would be simple. Just him, a house, some space to work with. But now, standing alone in the too-large kitchen, with dishes stacked up on a table meant for more than one, he felt like he was building something he didn’t understand.
In a fit of frustration, he grabbed one of the chairs from the dining room and dragged it into the garage, shoving it into the corner with more force than necessary. He didn’t need it there—he didn’t need anything in this house to remind him of things that weren’t his anymore.
But as he stood there, staring at the empty space he’d tried to make his own, he felt the anger simmer down, replaced by something closer to resignation. Maybe he couldn’t build a life here that was only for him. Maybe part of him would always carry the ghost of what could have been—of the life he thought he was supposed to have, with someone he couldn’t forget.
He ran a hand over his face, exhaling slowly. He’d come to Miyagi to escape his regrets, but they’d followed him anyway, settling into every corner of this too-big house.
With a final glance around the empty room, he turned and headed back inside, the echoes of his own footsteps the only sound in the quiet, empty house.

The Cullens’ Jobs
I already said in the previous head cannon that Esme becomes a grade 3 teacher so here are the jobs for the rest of the Cullens. They don't need extra money so they all just do what fun for them.
ALICE: runs and Etsy. She makes clothing and does cross stitch and embroidery custom order. She also does calligraphy for wedding invitations and things like that. She sometimes also sells pottery that she and the other Cullen women make.I headcannon that when they live somewhere remotely warm the Cullen women run a flower shop in the spring and summer. Alice handles arrangement and decoration of the store/marketing.
BELLA: Writes children's books which she sells on Amazon. Jasper and Renesmee do the art for them, and are teaching Bella how to draw. Esme is always the first to buy them for her classroom even though Bella says that she would give her one for free Esme insists. She might also be a teachers assistant for Esme some years.Bella handles the books, inventory and schedules for orders and deliveries at the flower shop.
CARLISLE: remains a doctor.
EDWARD: works part-time at an instrument repair shop. He and Esme when she's free clean, repair and restore old instruments. He also runs a YouTube channel where he plays the piano and the type of time laps videos where he cleans and repairs instruments. (They only show his hands because of the no pictures of yourself rule)I can also see Edward working at the hospital with Carlisle (under the his human surname of Mason so people don't get suspicious) because after Bella he can suppress his thirst completely.
EMMET: Makes cabinets and other furniture (with the help of Esme for design sometimes). He also worked for a moving company once which was really just a competition with Jasper and Edward about how much he could lift. (Don't worry, Esme taught him well and he's very careful with people's things).
ESME: is the main person who greets the costumers (they all do it sometimes) and also helps with the arrangements of the flowers. She designs the layout of the shop and grows the flowers in her garden. They build a second garage for his workshop.
JACOB: Makes peace with Rosalie and they open a mechanic shop. They are soon know to be the fastest and best mechanics in the area.
JASPER: Can draw really well so he sells art prints on Alice's Etsy. Sometimes he makes custom things if he really likes the request but usually he doesn't. He also has a YouTube channel where he makes dioramas of cities and that kind of thing (again only hands).
RENESMEE: Does a travel blog with cool facts, tips for getting around places and recommendations of where to shop and eat. She even makes hand drawn maps  which she sells on her blog/website. She loves photography and sells her artistic photographs and her art on Etsy. When they move somewhere new she puts up flyers and volunteers to photography events.  Since they usually live in small towns she joins the newspaper and takes photos for to sometimes writing articles.
ROSALIE: Works at the mechanic shop with Jacob.
