Guess what is dropping on Thursday?!? After over two years of radio silence?!

Yes!!! Indeed it’s Soldier Amai or, as it’s now predictably titled for international release, Fighting for Love!!!

I had a mutual who was also super interested in this but I can’t remember who it was but if you do see it, scream with me!!!

The plot sounds awesome (female general!!! Entangled with a crown prince and an enemy general!!!) and mmm that cast! Crystal Zhang is one of my faves and deserves a better career than what she has (and I can actually buy her as a general which is more than I can say for some other FLs) and Wang Ruichang is likewise ridiculously underrated!

Now, whether it will be coherent who even knows - it’s 34 eps but was back way when rumored for 60 - the last time I saw such a huge cut was Renascence cut from 70 to 36 and it was incoherent as fuck, but at least it’s not gonna moulder in the vault.

PS I love that it’s gonna premiere in less than two days and there is still no trailer. For a drama made in 2021. Oh, c-ent!

If you’re into historically heavily female oriented driven cast then this cdrama will be right up you alley. It’s wonderfully written and extremely well acted all around with a more mature written vibe to it. The cinematography and visuals are gorgeous and breathtaking. It does have some bumps here and there in the pacing towards the middle and end felt a bit rushed, but nothing major. The chemistry between the main leads is one of my favorites. The glances, the coy smiles, oof, smexy as heck. It’s definitely a recommendation and a must watch if you love period pieces.
