Parent’s Story: Old Man Winter

Powerful Qualities: Powerful, Inquisitive, Creative

Roommate: Sweetie Plumfairy

Secret Heart’s Desire: As much as I love winter, I would love to go somewhere warm and bask in the sunlight.

My “Magic” Touch: I can create snowflakes, frost, and other things related to winter just by thinking of them.

Storybook Romance Status: I don’t really plan on seeing anyone for a while now. I just want to focus on my future and what I want to do.

“Oh Curses!” Moment: Sometimes, my powers get away from me and I create miniature snow storms. My roommate, Sweetie, loves it, but others do not.

Favorite Subject: Arts and Crafts. Since my family helps with the creation of winter every year, I love to create different designs for snowflakes, frost, and winter wind swirls.

Least Favorite Subject: Advanced Elfonomics. It all just sounds like gibberish to me.

Best Friends Forever After: Briar Beauty, Birch Spinner, and Petra Pan. Crystal Winter and I go way back too. We’re practically sisters.

This was not supposed to be for the Winter Wonderland event but rather another drawing, however, I didn't want to have to do two drawings that would take away my time to do other things, so I decided to do it for the event and for the gift.

After having seen the new winter special of My Little Pony: Make your mark - Secrets of Starlight and having had an obsession with the northern lights, they have given me inspiration to create this fictional setting with a theme of crystals and winter... .which I will possibly make an AU about this world.

❄About my AU❄ AU: Crystals of the Northern Lights Crystal Northerns, coming from another universe, is a cold and cozy country full of magic and life where its nights are filled with beautiful colorful lights that give light to the darkness of the sky. In this country the nights are very long and prosperous, but the days are very bright, active and full of life due to the activity of the population having to live in a winter that never disappears... having among these the ones that go the longest to work as well as others who go to recreation and snow sports.

The buildings are created from a special material that allows their inhabitants to be isolated from the cold and for the heat to be concentrated inside their homes. But what most characterizes this country, besides the auroras, are the crystalline roofs of its houses, which give the illusion of being made of diamond or crystalline ice that shines in a variety of colors.

Its national flag is a very dark purple color that represents the night with an image of an aurora borealis from which three glass fragments of different colors emerge. The representative national gems of this country are Quartz, Topaz and Diamond, and the emblematic and representative animals are the reindeer, owl, fox, hedgehog and squirrel.

Hey hey hey hoo hoo! Guess who it iiiis with a whole ‘nother Rhythm D oc! This time, I give you Crystal Winters! A world renowned figure skater who collapsed from a heart attack during a performance in Middlesea.

There is a lot written under the cut here so do be prepared if you wanna delve in!

She was known for her excellence in remaining graceful on the ice and maintaining the appearance of floating weightlessly as she glided, as well as her immense gratitude and charity with both her fans and those less fortunate than her. Overall, she is regarded very fondly by most all that know her and, despite being a world class athlete, she very much prefers not to make too big of a fuss of herself. Even when all this happened, all she could think of was how scary it must have been for the audience to witness.

As such, Crystal's time spent in Middlesea Hospital will kind of be the inverse of Lucky's. She understands that this is a serious situation and that it will take quite a while for her to get back on her feet, but the doctors are doing everything they can to help her and, with patience, she'll be back on the ice before she knows it! No need to show anything else but a smile while she's there, right? It's not the doctors’ fault that her body just decided to fail on her.

So… why then? Why is it that she cannot help but feel so… sad? Why is it that she wants to just curl in on herself and… cry… at the prospect of not being able to perform anymore? People have sent her flowers, cards, little plushes wishing her well during her recovery period, and they're all so sweet, yet…

She doesn't wish to make it anyone's problem or be too much of a burden on the people helping her to get better, but Crystal cannot help but feel exasperated, upset and disheartened about the fact that she will be left useless for months to come. That she will have narrowly few outlets to expend her energy and clear her mind of her troubles. That the possibility of her heart not being strong enough to ever allow her back on the ice looms over her like the clouds on a snowy day.

Outwardly though, Crystal shall present herself as happily as one can, taking time to listen and understand what the doctors tell her while seeming to take it as “just one of those little things that happens in life!” before then going on to bake complex gourmet desserts for five hours so she can do something energy consuming.

A real Pollyanna to contrast from Marie being such a Primadonna!

… She happens to know Crystal aaaall too well. Frighteningly too well, in fact. In fact, upon being told of her arrival at the hospital, Marie adamantly refused to take her on as a patient, shoving that task onto Ian and Ada while she took over their responsibilities for the day in turn. She will do absolutely everything she can to remain scarce with anything involving Crystal, though is very much unlikely to tell anyone why this is precisely. You can expect her to use her time powers a lot for the sole purpose of avoiding her at every possible turn.

Maybe some day we'll find out why that is…

Made a refrence sheet for my oc Angelis Bluesnow, she's a winterchild which is an old closed species that isn't really around anymore but I love my baby to death! I added her first drawing (by me) in the background ^^ Eventully imma redraw her human version as well

Fun fact about Angelis, her hair is inspired by Princess Kida from the movie Atlantis

Alright. So in order to explain her turning we'd have to explain a bit about Crystal.

Crystal was raised by her poor mother in the shady place of Snowmonton. Crystal saw a LOT of bad stuff. They were finally starting to do well, so much so that Crystal wanted to start college when she was in her 30s until Miriam, Crystal's mother, was diagnosed with cancer.

To help out, Crystal got more jobs to help pay for medical bills and in doing so got a job as a worker at Mrs Puttle's. There she met the owner, Jack Frost.

He was a smartass, pervy, had a temper, yet had his moments of gentle.

Crystal felt an allure to him and his not so subtle flirting showed his allure to her. But she tried not to show it out of stubborness.

One night one of Crystal's coworkers at the pie place tried to make a move on her while she was going home and Jack, who had also been leaving at the time, beat the fuck out of him.

Jack walked her to her car and Crystal gave him her number, "just in case"

The two began to date and fall in love. Jack helped pay for Miriam's chemo, and spoiled Crystal with things she'd always wanted, all while they got to know each other and bantered.

And then she found out about the murders. And she... Stayed quiet. Jack was one of the few people who had actually treated her like a damn person. Sure he could be a dick but he was HERS.

So she stayed quiet.

When Jack was finally arrested, he told everyone that no one else knew, to save Crystal from jail time. Crystal was heartbroken, and even more so at the announcement of the execution. She visited him a few times in prison, and he always told her he'd find a way to get out and run off with her.

Soon the car crash happened and Crystal heard of Jack's "death". She hardly went outside besides work and she would often be completely silent. It got to the point where she decided to move to a different town.

Meanwhile, something else was occuring. See, in this version of events, Stone didn't die. Instead he moved to another town- Crystal's new one, and decided to help Jack, including on the island with the snowballs, for a deal.

Jack gets tests done on him, and Stone lures people in for Jack to happily kill. A win-win scenario.

Jack has tried to visit Crystal's apartment, but it was empty, hurting him deeply, but then again she thought he was dead.

One night, Crystal was leaving her job as a waitress. Stone saw her, and thought of her to use for Jack. He lured her over with begging of "help my child is missing" and when her back was turned, WHAM! Knocked her out with a wrench.

Unfortunately, Stone hit her much too hard. She was brought back to the home Stone owned with Jack (to keep a low profile) and Jack was mortified when he saw who Stone had brought back.

He began to yell, enraged, telling the scientist to wake her up, NOW.

Stone tried, confused, but then they both froze- Crystal was dead.

Immediately Stone began trying cpr, but it wasn't working at all. The brain had been hit too hard- until Jack did something that'd change forever.

He grabbed one of the nearby test tubes that Stone had been trying out with Jack's DNA- and shoved the liquid down Crystal's throat.

Within a few seconds, the woman began to change in front of them. Her once dark hair was now turning whiter than the Arctic. Her skin began to pale. She became cold as ice.

And then her eyes opened, her sceleras pitch black, and her irises an icy blue.
