For me, it’s Crust. Even though he appears like twice, he’s a character I quickly fell in love with. Guy was such a wholesome dude with a cool quirk. I legitimately think he could’ve been a positive role model to Izuku as both are emotional. Crust could’ve helped teach a Izuku that it’s ok to express emotions and there’s no shame in doing so. Sadly, he ended up dying to protect Shota 😞.

Kamen Rider Deku Mission 27: War Prep

It has been a few days since news about the Meta Liberation Army and the operation against them has been secretly circulating among ton-class heroes. Chairman Hikage let Hawks handle researching and informing the other heroes to ensure they're trustworthy. The bird-themed hero has been doing his best and started his work at the top by telling some of the current top ten heroes he knows he can trust.

Two of those heroes are heading to the newly rebuilt Hero Public Safety Commission building after the battle between Cactus Nomu, Psiren, and Chamber.

"I can't believe we allowed such an incredible threat to grow in Japan! I feel like such a failure as a hero!" A well-built man with light skin, a lantern jaw, and a massive, straight nose cries, tears running down his face at his incompetence, annoying his companion.

The man has slicked-back black hair that covers the back of his neck, with a streak of white going down the middle of his head. The mask covering his tear-ridden eyes has a white unibrow-like top that curves toward his face and has white-lensed, black eye covers connected to it. Over his body is a green, cloak-like cape with a gold buckle and a collar instead of a hood. Under the cloak, the man wears a form-fitting, short-sleeved black crop top with a tree-like red stripe running down the center and connecting with the red accents at the bottom of the top. Over his waist is a black, gold-trimmed, Roman gladiator-like skirt with a white waistband. For footwear, he has black boots with golden straps that connect to form X's at his lower legs.

The most notable feature about this man is the rock-like scales growing off the back of his hands.

"Will you stop crying already, Crust?! We'll handle it now! Besides, I'm more interested in other things while we're here. I want to see if All Might will spar with me. Or meet the Kamen Rider using my Quirk to take down those Nomu." A bold, feminine voice shouts at him.

The voice belongs to a short, muscular woman with tanned skin, red eyes, and long white hair reaching her knees. Atop her head are a pair of long white rabbit ears. The woman wears a sleeveless white leotard with a purple trim on the lower end and arm holes. Around her neck is a white fur collar, and she has a yellow crescent moon on her chest. Attached to her waist is a grey metal plate with golden markings. The plate connects at her back but stops just before her front, showing off her abs. She also has white gloves and purple thigh-high boots that show off her bunny-like feet. Her footwear also uses metal to cover the front and heels of her feet.

"I can't help it. I feel horrible that I couldn't do more to stop the suffering of others until now. Who knows what will happen if what Hawks says is true?" Crust cries again, causing the bunny woman to roll her eyes.

"It'll be fine. I'll crush them before they can do anything to hurt anyone." She states with a savage grin while slamming a fist into her hand.

"But what if they have all those Nomu with them? It'll be dangerous to deal with so many at once. We might not be able to handle containing them all." Crust tells her in a worried tone as he remembers the times he fought some Nomu.

Each member of the top ten heroes has fought at least a few Nomu and knows how strong they can be. So, it caught both of their attention when Hawks informed them separately about the situation.

At Crust's question, the rabbit woman's grin grows more savage and confident.

"Don't worry so much. We'll crush all those bastards. Do you think they can stop us and All Might?" Mirko asks him in a sudden confrontational tone.

"Of course not. All Might is a shining example of heroism who has protected people for decades. No one in their right mind would doubt his power." Crust immediately states in a proud tone that sounds like he's fanboying.

Hearing his words causes the bunny woman to smack him in the head again.

"What about us, you idiot? We're no flyweights, you know!" The woman annoyedly shouts at him as she doesn't enjoy him dismissing her strength.

Seeming to realize what she is talking about, Crust grins.

"Of course. I'm a strong individual and am proud of all that I've accomplished, but I believe I still pale in comparison to someone like All Might." Crust self-deprecatingly states with a grin while slamming the bottom of his fist into his palm.

"Damn it, idiot. Have some pride." The woman growls at him as she smacks him again in annoyance.

Crust shrugs off the impact with ease despite a loud smack reverberating when she smacks him on the back and looks at her with a grin.

"But I'm surprised you're joining us, Mirko. I thought you didn't like team-ups." Crust suddenly changes the subject.

"Eh. It sounded interesting, and I wanted to come over here to meet the Kamen Riders, anyway." Mirko explains with a shrug, seeming to lose the fire she had earlier.

"Are you really going to fight, All Might?" Crust asks curiously, zoning in on that part specifically of what she said earlier.

"You're damn right I am. I want to know where I stack up. The guy is a living legend. Who wouldn't want to know how they compare?" Mirko asks him with an excited grin.

"I'm sure it would be a splendid battle. A battle between two of Japan's most physically powerful heroes would be a sight. Even if you likely couldn't win." Crust states in an enthusiastic tone, causing Mirko to get irritated again.

"What do you mean I couldn't win?! I get he's All Might! But he's still getting old! I could definitely do something to him!" Mirko argues with the man, causing him to laugh boisterously.

"Didn't you see the video of him fighting that Nomu with ice powers? All Might is still far from weak." He tells her, causing Mirko to grow more annoyed.

"I'm not weak either, asshole! Or did you forget that I'm higher than you in the rankings?" Mirko shouts at him in annoyance.

"Of course not. But if we're going by rankings, you stand no chance against All Might, considering he's ranked number one." Crust laughs lightly, causing Mirko to smack him one last time.

"Whatever. Hopefully, I don't have to work with any useless idiots. Let's talk to the old giant and get this over with." Mirko grumbles as she stomps ahead of Crust.

Crust smiles as he realizes he successfully managed to get on the rabbit heroine's nerves and excitedly follows after the woman. He wants to see All Might again and thank the man again for his work as the paragon of heroism. Crust also wishes to meet the Kamen Riders and congratulate them on their incredible job of stopping the Nomu.

"You said you needed to talk to the Kamen Riders about something? What is it you need to talk to them about?" Crust asks the woman as he rushes to catch up to her so they can continue the idle chatter on the way there.

"Oh, the scientists who made the stuff they're using asked me if they could copy my Quirk using their tech. It looks like the green one, Deku, I think, is using it. I want to see how strong he is myself." Mirko states with a battle-hungry grin as they continue their walk.

"You let them copy your Quirk?" Crust asks in surprise.

"Sure. It sounded interesting, and I wanted to see what would happen." Mirko states that as she and Crust are near their destination.

"I never would have expected you to be willing to do that. You never struck me as the type that's interested in experiments." Crust states, causing Mirko to shrug.

"I don't give a crap about that nerd shit." She says with a shameless grin, causing Crust to blink in surprise.

"Then why did you do it?" He asks her.

"Why not? These Nomu guys are copying other people's Quirks. I thought, why not let them try with mine and see what happens." Mirko states with a shrug.

Crust sweatdrops at the carefreeness the woman displays, but it doesn't surprise him. He can see her doing that from when they got to know each other during events or in the rare instances he got to work with her. It doesn't happen often, considering the woman is staunchly against teaming up with others, seeing it as a weakness. They've worked together before because they happened to be after the same criminals once or twice.

"I heard the old giant got pretty banged up when the Nomu attacked this place," Mirko states as she stares at the repaired building.

"I heard that, too. To think they'd be bold enough to attack this place in broad daylight and go for the head of the Hero Public Safety Commission. It's shocking." Crust states as he stares at the building with a surprisingly tense expression, far different from his earlier goofiness.

"Bastards are starting to mock us. They think they can get away with anything. I can't believe Hawks and those weaklings let them do it. Where the hell were they when the Kamen Riders were fighting?" Mirko growls before the two go in.

When the rest of the lobby realizes who entered, it grows slightly quiet as they stare at the two top ten heroes. Mirko rolls her eyes at the reaction while Crust doesn't react as they head for the front desk. While Crust stops before it, Mirko doesn't bother and walks right past, causing the receptionist to panic.

"Miss. Mirko. You can't go past without an appointment!" She shouts in alarm as she stares at the rabbit woman, who turns around and glares at her.

"I do have an appointment! The old giant called us over to discuss crap!" Mirko shouts at the receptionist aggressively, scaring the poor woman.

Crust decides to step in before anything can happen and gives the receptionist a radiant smile.

"We have something important to discuss with the chairman. He already knows we'll be here." Crust explains to her in a cheery tone that somewhat calms the receptionist.

"Al-alright then." The receptionist stutters out as she lets the two pass.

With that solved, Crust follows after Mirko, who storms off after shouting at the receptionist.

"There wasn't a need to yell. The poor woman is just doing her job. The chairman is a busy man, after all." Crust tells her as he walks by her side.

"Whatever, she should have figured we were here because he called us up." Mirko dismisses his words as they head for the office.

"Still," Crust tells her before they arrive at the office.

Once there, Mirko repeatedly slams her fist into the door with enough force to make Crust worry that it will fly off its hinges.

"Hey, old giant, we're here!" Mirko shouts while continuing to hit the door.

To her amusement, her bunny ears hear Chairman Hikage groaning in frustration at what she's doing before shouting at them to come in. She walks in with a grin that lets Chairman Hikage know she doesn't regret anything, while Crust gives the older man an apologetic smile.

"Do you always have to do that to my doors whenever I call you? We just had it replaced." Chairman Hikage says tiredly.

"Maybe if you didn't have me travel all the way here every time, I wouldn't." Mirko shoots back as she flops into one of the new chairs without a care.

Chairman Hikage rubs his temples while the two heroes inspect his body for any injuries. They can see some bandages wrapped around his neck and under his sleeves. Seeing it causes Crust to burst into tears before bowing to the chairman.

"I'm sorry for not being here to help with the situation, sir! Had I been here, I'm sure you would not have gotten so injured!" Crust shouts apologetically.

"Knock it off, Crust. The guy's fine. Do you seriously think someone as stubborn as him would keel over that easily?" Mirko tells him while rolling her eyes at the other hero's antics.

"It's still unforgivable that we weren't here to do anything. The Nomu have been attacking this city for months. We should have done something before things got so bad." Crust argues with her with tears still in his eyes, causing Chairman Hikage to sigh while raising a hand.

"That's enough, Crust. I didn't want any of you here so we could better test the Kamen Rider program. That's why I didn't allow Hawks to intervene in any battles. You two were doing a good job by protecting other areas. Crime has started to rise because of the Nomu, after all." Chairman Hikage explains to ease the male hero's worries.

"A brilliant idea, sir. Those Kamen Riders are impressive. I have seen a few videos of their fights, and I must say that I'm impressed with most of them. The only one that has my worries is that explosive one. He seems far too unstable." Crust says in a happy voice that doesn't quite voice his concerns surrounding K.E.M.

"I can never tell if he's brown-nosing me." Chairman Hikage thinks with a sweatdrop as he listens to Crust's rant. The man's expressive nature makes it hard to tell if he's trying to kiss up to him or being genuine.

"Speaking of that asshole, where is he? I want to kick his ass." Mirko states as she thinks about what she'll do to K.E.M. once she gets her hands on him.

His attitude makes her angry. He's like a worse version of her. While she enjoys a fight, she isn't stupid enough to almost kill civilians or attack fellow pros over it. The guy is crazy in her eyes and needs a good beating to set him right.

"No need to worry about him now. He's fired from his position. I wanted to do it a while ago, but he had some protection until then." Chairman Hikage calmly explains to the woman to keep her from doing anything reckless and focus on the main task.

Hearing his reason for keeping K.E.M. around causes her to growl in annoyance.

"Fucking politics. That's why I work alone and don't bother making a hero office." Mirko grumbles as she crosses her arms and glares forward.

Chairman Hikage can't help but agree with her on that.

"Anyway. I'm sure Hawks explained some of the details to you. But I'll let you know what we know so far." Chairman Hikage states before grabbing a stack of papers and reading them.

"Recently, we've learned that the new type of villains appearing in recent years, the Nomus, are possibly affiliated with a reorganized Meta Liberation Army. The Meta Liberation Army has secretly gathered power over the years and has taught their philosophy of Quirk supremacy to various school districts." Chairman Hikage explains in a business-like tone.

The two heroes silently listen, letting him talk without interruption.

"From our investigations. It seems like they've kept under the radar by placing themselves in positions of power, from the school board, school staff, and the police. That's how they've been keeping themselves from being exposed. It took the efforts of multiple underground heroes to dig up all the information we have now." Chairman Hikage explains while waving the papers in his hands for emphasis.

"It's despicable that they are poisoning young minds with this social Darwinistic worldview. Everyone is equal and has value in society." Crust says with a voice full of conviction while Mirko snorts.

"Keep up the idealism, Crust. But I agree. As someone with a 'weak' Quirk, it's annoying that they're trying to spew that bullshit. I went through a lot of crap because of my Quirk until I put those bastards in their places." Mirko states her view on this in annoyance as she remembers her past.

Chairman Hikage nods slightly, glad to hear they're all in the same boat.

"I agree. I have a grandson who doesn't have a Quirk. I don't like the idea of him living in a society where everyone treats the Quirkless or those with weak Quirks like they're garbage." Chairman Hikage explains to the two.

"Ah, I remember him when you brought him to a few events. He seems like a nice lad. How is he doing?" Crust suddenly asks as he remembers Shiki.

"He's fine. He's making friends while being part of the Kamen Rider program." Chairman Hikage reveals, surprising the two heroes.

"I'm sorry?" Crust questions in surprise, feeling like he misheard Chairman Hikage.

"I'm only revealing this to you two because I need help ensuring their safety. We felt it necessary to recruit young minds to become Kamen Riders to bolster our forces. None of them have actually even gone to a hero school yet. We did this because a young mind is more impressionable and adaptable." Chairman Hikage states with a sigh.

The heroes stare at the man in shock before Mirko suddenly bursts out laughing with tears in her eyes. Chairman Hikage thinks she's laughing because she believes it's a joke, but doesn't get the chance to reprimand her because she says something that surprises him.

"This is why I like you, you old giant. You're willing to bend or break the rules for more selfish reasons over 'keeping hero society clean' and actually feel human." Mirko laughs as she makes air quotes at the end.

"Mirko, this is serious. The chairman is using children to fight villains." Crust argues with the bunny woman in outrage.

"Ah, relax, Crust. It's not that bad. I'll bet the kids are about the age where they'll be going to a hero school this year. It's not like we don't put kids in dangerous situations with internships or training. That's part of the job. Hell, you know I did a lot of shit while I was in school." Mirko tells him with an amused grin, enjoying the direction this conversation suddenly taken.

"Be that as it may, I must ask, why would you do such a thing, Chairman? Putting young minds at risk by having them fight? And your own grandson at that?" Crust asks while aghastly staring at Chairman Hikage.

Chairman Hikage stares at Crust's expression with a heavy sigh as he leans forward slightly.

"I will not lie. I did this mainly to give my grandson a better chance to become a hero. However, that doesn't mean I was reckless in my decision. The other two Kamen Riders are incredibly gifted in Quirk analysis. They all have the potential to be great with the right training and experience." Chairman Hikage explains this to help justify his decisions.

"What about the maniac?" Mirko asks while referring to Katsuki's Kamen Rider identity.

"That was not my decision! People went behind our backs to give someone else a Hero Driver!" Chairman Hikage angrily shouts as he slams a fist into his desk to show his anger.

"Alright, alright. Don't get your panties in a twist. So, you pulled some strings and got your kid and his friends a way to become heroes. What does that have to do with us?" Mirko asks in an uncaring tone.

"I'd like to take this chance to have you two teach them something. I asked Hawks, but he didn't want to. With your experience, I know there are things you can teach them, especially since one of them uses your Quirk, Mirko." Chairman Hikage explains.

"I knew that green one was using my Quirk. He fucking sucks, though. Don't worry, I'll whip him into shape. I can't have people thinking I'm weak because of him." Mirko states with a savage grin as she thinks about what she'll do to Izuku when she gets her hands on him.

"Try not to break them. One is still my grandson, and the other two are also important. I want them to be trained by two of the best, not broken by them." Chairman Hikage states upon seeing Mirko's expression.

"No worries. I won't break them. I will make them think they're going to break, though. You have to push yourself if you want to get better." Mirko states without shame, causing Chairman Hikage to wonder if he made a mistake.

"So, which Kamen Riders would you like to train? You don't both have to train all three. One of you can do two while the other does one. We don't have much time, though." Chairman Hikage explains.

"I'll gladly take on the newest Kamen Rider! She seems to have a telekinesis Quirk! I can teach her to utilize such a complicated Quirk in multiple ways!" Crust suddenly enthusiastically shouts, seemingly accepting the news finally.

"I guess I'll take the two boys then." Mirko grins.

"Perfect. You'll find the two at the Takoba Municipal Beach Park, doing endurance and strength training. And Kamen Psiren will be at Uncountable Enterprises with her father." Chairman Hikage informs them while giving the two slips of paper with addresses.

"You knew we'd pick them beforehand, didn't you?" Mirko flatly asks him as she takes the paper.

Chairman Hikage loses his grim expression to give the two a light smile.

"I had a feeling, based on your Quirks and personalities. I hope you can help them before the war starts. As much as I'd like them not to get involved, we don't know enough about the enemy to rule them out. And I don't want to drag hero students into this either." Chairman Hikage explains, causing the two to nod.

Melissa sits at a desk, polishing her Power Coins in the Kamen Rider's lab. She's still having trouble realizing that her dream has come true and that she is becoming a hero. It doesn't help that everything has been quiet lately. Nothing is happening, making the first time she transformed seem like a dream. It makes her feel more restless about the situation.

"I wonder how the boys are doing? It's weird they didn't invite me to train with them when Shiki offered to help me learn how to fight." She mutters as she uses a cloth to rub the surface of her Cactus Power Coin.

She's unaware that the two are training with All Might himself, and the other two aren't aware that she knows about All Might's weakness after the man revealed it to her and her father. So, it's brought some complications to their relationship as teammates and friends.

"Oh well, I'll ask them about it later," Melissa smiles as she finishes cleaning the Cactus Power Coin.

She hears the lab's doorbell suddenly ring and turns in the direction of it while her father heads toward it. Surprisingly, he and Melissa are the only ones at the lab. Hisashi is nowhere to be found, spending time with his wife instead. Hisashi activates the camera outside and isn't surprised to see Crust's enthusiastic smile as the hero waits for one of them to open the door. He quickly opens the door, and Crust shouts.

"Good day to you! I'm here to meet with Kamen Rider Psiren. The chairman tasked me with training her! Is she here?" Crust explains with a chipper tone whose volume slowly gets lower as he continues to speak.

David is caught off guard by Crust's enthusiasm, but eventually shakes it off and smiles at him. He then shifts his smile toward Melissa and calls out to the girl.

"Melissa, someone is here to train you," David reveals, shocking his daughter enough to cause her to jump out of her seat.

"One of the top ten heroes is here to train me?!" She shouts in shock while staring at the smiling Crust.

"Hahaha, of course. What kind of hero would I be if I didn't help a young recruit on their journey to become a hero?" Crust proudly states with his hands on his hips as he does a pose for Melissa to increase her enthusiasm.

Melissa quickly moves around the desk and rushes over to Crust before bowing slightly to the man.

"Thank you for taking the time to train me," Melissa tells him in a grateful tone that shows how much she appreciates this surprise.

"Think nothing of it. I'm happy to train you. I'm surprised to be training someone outside my sidekicks or an intern, though." Crust good-naturedly states as he continues to smile in return at her.

"I'll be in your care," Melissa tells him before looking at her dad for permission to leave.

"Go ahead. Have fun learning from Crust. I'm sure his training will help you a lot." He tells his daughter with a smile, causing the girl to run out of the room excitedly with the hero.

David watches them go with a smile, happy his daughter is getting to work on her dream, but worried about the future.

At the beach, the other two Kamen Riders are doing their best to clear what's left of the beach. Since starting their training, they've done a great job of cleaning up the beach. Most of the trash is already gone, thanks to their efforts.

"You two have done an amazing job. The beach looks almost completely different." Toshinori tells them with a sense of pride as he smiles at the two while they rest.

"Thank you, All Might," Izuku smiles as he looks at the beach.

"No need to thank me. You both did this with your own efforts. And I can see that the training is paying off. You look far healthier than when you first started." All Might tells the two as he pulls out a phone and shows Izuku a picture of him before the training.

Izuku can see that his body is far more toned and bulky now than when he started this training. He almost looks like a completely different person, body-wise, that is. His face looks practically the same as when he began.

"Look at how much you've improved. You're far different from the string bean you were when you started this training. Now, you have far more strength and stamina at your disposal." Toshinori explains to him before swiping his phone screen to show a picture of Shiki next.

"You've made some improvements, too, Young Hikage. While you were already quite muscular from training, you still have noticeable improvement." Toshinori explains while holding up a picture of a slightly thinner Shiki to show the current one.

Shiki nods as he looks at the screen before looking at his body. It does seem like he's made some improvements.

"You two are doing wonderful. By the time we finish this training, you should be more than ready for the U.A. entrance exam." Toshinori explains.

After he says this, he sees both his students' eyes widen. Toshinori thinks they're surprised by his words and gives them an encouraging smile.

"I'm telling the truth. There are always plenty of applicants who haven't trained themselves once when taking the exam. In comparison, you're more likely to last longer and will succeed if you prepare enough." Toshinori tells them before it's his turn to be surprised when he hears a brash, feminine voice behind him.

"Really now? That's pretty interesting. Makes me want to see what they've got even more now." Mirko's voice rings from behind Toshinori, causing him to turn around to see her grinning face.

Her sudden appearance causes Toshinori to stumble backward while Izuku and Shiki stare at her in frozen surprise, both knowing who this woman is. Mirko can't help but laugh at their reactions, always enjoying the shock people feel when suddenly meeting a top-tier pro-hero when she wants to.

"Man, you guys act like you've seen a ghost. What, none of you ever met a beautiful woman before?" She asks with amusement that's not difficult to spot in her tone as she stares at the two, sizing them up.

"So, you two bastards are the ones behind the armor. I have to say, you're weaker looking than I expected you to be." Mirko bluntly states as she analyzes the bodies of Izuku and Shiki.

Shiki narrows his eyes when she says that, hating how he has to hear that stuff again, while Izuku nervously fidgets in his spot, uncomfortable with Mirko's roaming eyes. Mirko's smirk grows before they can say anything, though.

"But that's why I'm here to whip your asses into shape and make sure you don't get them killed." She states excitedly.

Her words hit the three like a tidal wave, and two of them couldn't help but release their thoughts.

"What?" Izuku asks in surprise.

"I don't think that's-" Toshinori starts before Mirko grabs Izuku and Shiki and throws them onto the beach's sand.

The two crash, face-first, into the substance and slide across it, building sizeable mounds of sand in front of their faces as they do so. By the end of their sliding, they look like they're trying to copy ostriches with how much sand covers their heads. It's so much that they actually have trouble pulling their heads out and coughing up all of what got into their mouths. Toshinori is at a loss for words as he watches his two students doing their best to get the sand out of their diets.

"W-what *cough* the hell *cough* is wrong with you?" Shiki demands through his coughing fit while Izuku focuses on getting the grains out of his system.

"Ah, man up. You two have faced worse than heads full of sand. In fact, you have to deal with it right now." Mirko states while cracking her knuckles with an eager grin.

"Wh-what do you mean?" Izuku asks out of worry as he finally finishes coughing up all the sand.

"What else? You two and I are going to spar. I want to see what you can do." Mirko tells them as her eager grin turns downright battle-hungry, reminding Izuku a lot of Katsuki and causing him to grow worried.

He soon recovers from that after her words register with him, though.

"I thought you didn't take students. You always say in interviews that you hate team-ups and think it's for weaklings." Izuku states as he tries to wrap his head around his current situation.

"Oh, I do. But I'm making you two the exception. I'm curious what these 'new types' of heroes are capable of. That means I want to see how you do in a fight against me." Mirko explains in a confident tone.

Her words bring a strange mix of anticipation and dread within the hearts of Shiki and Izuku. Ironically, Shiki feels more anticipation, while Izuku feels more dread. However, there's one problem that the two realize, and it causes Shiki to give her a flat expression.

"You realize we don't have our Hero Drivers on us, right? They're in Izuku's bike." Shiki informs her in a matter-of-fact tone, causing Mirko to freeze.

She glares at the two before glaring at Toshinori, causing him to grow nervous, and then back at them.

"Damn it! You brats ruined the mood! Why don't you have them on you?" She demands in an annoyed and aggressive voice.

"Why would we carry them on us when we have to carry stuff? What if we lose it in all this trash?" Shiki can't help but shout back as he glares at Mirko and motions to all the garbage left on the beach.

"Oh, you have some balls yelling at me, brat. I'm going to enjoy beating your ass. Now, hurry up and grab your damn equipment so I can see what you're made of." Mirko orders while pointing at Izuku's moped, causing the two to rush to it.

"A-are you sure this is necessary?" Toshinori can't help but ask Mirko out of worry.

"And who the hell are you? Are you some trainer the old giant hired to help his grandson and Greenie?" Mirko asks him with a raised eyebrow, giving Toshinori the once over and looking unimpressed with what she sees.

"I am not working for, Chairman Hikage, no. However, I am helping these two with their training. Right now, I'm having them work on their strength and endurance by having them clean up the beach." Toshinori explains while motioning to his truck and the items on it.

"Not bad." Mirko nods as she stares at the truck before looking at Toshinori again.

"But who the heck are you?" Mirko asks again, causing Toshinori to cough into his fist out of nervousness.

"I'm an associate of All Might. I work at his agency. He asked me to help train these two." Toshinori explains while trying to remain calm.

"Really! So, you know All Might?" Mirko asks with a suddenly interested grin as she stares at Toshinori.

"Yes," Toshinori states, but stares at her nervously.

Mirko slings an arm around Toshinori's shoulders and grins at the man.

"Then you can get me in contact with the guy. I've always wanted to see where I stack up against him. Think you can let him know and get him to fight me?" Mirko asks, causing Toshinori to grow more worried.

"I'm afraid I don't think I can do that. All Might isn't a fan of fighting other heroes, even if it's a sparring match." Toshinori explains, causing Mirko to groan.

"Ah, come on. I want to see how I compare. It's not like we're going to kill each other. There's nothing wrong with a friendly spar." Mirko tells him to try to talk him into telling All Might.

"I-I'll let him know about your request. But I can't promise he'll agree to them." Toshinori amicably tells her mentally, noting to avoid Mirko as All Might.

"Great!" Mirko shouts as she roughly slaps Toshinori's back, causing the man to crash to the ground from her strength.

"Sorry about that." Mirko laughs as she grins down at the man while Toshinori groans.

As this happens, the two Kamen Riders finally grab their Hero Drivers and return to their positions.

"Are you brats finally ready?!" Mirko asks them out of irritation, still annoyed about how they ruined the moment earlier.

"Yes!" They both shout.

"Then hurry up!" Mirko demands, causing the two Kamen Riders to set their Hero Drivers on their waists and insert their Power Coins.

"JUMP, JUMP, REACH FOR THE MOON, JUMPING RABBIT!"

"READY, AIM. I'VE GOT YOU IN MY SIGHTS, SNIPER RIFLE!"

"Kamen Rider Deku/Chamber!" The Hero Drivers shout as the two Kamen Riders stare Mirko down.

"Am I supposed to be intimidated by your fancy-ass announcements? Hurry up and show me what you two got!" Mirko orders with her hands on her hips.

Deku is hesitant and unsure of how to approach Mirko, but Chamber doesn't hesitate to attack. Instead of using his wrist-mounted guns, he fires a massive bullet from the gun barrel atop his head. The enormous energy bullet flies at Mirko at high speeds. Chamber thinks his surprise attack will work, but is shocked when Mirko suddenly jumps out of the way of the attack.

He looks up and tries to aim his guns at her, but Mirko is too quick. She lands in an instant and charges at the two Kamen Riders. While charging, she nimbly dodges all of Chamber's attacks and closes the distance between them before sending Chamber flying to the side with a single kick.

"Too slow. Can you only do surprise attacks and shoot poorly aimed bullets? I've seen movies where the enemies have better aim!" Mirko shouts at Chamber before turning to a surprised Deku.

"And what are you doing? Just standing around like a statue? I'm insulted that you're using my Quirk!" Mirko shouts at him as she throws another kick his way.

Deku instantly moves to raise his guard by crossing his arms to block the strike. But the force behind Mirko's attack breaks through his guard and sends him skidding back.

"Come on! If I were a Nomu, you wimps would already be dead. I thought you were supposed to be the ultimate weapon against them! I only see weak kids who can't do anything!" Mirko shouts at the duo in annoyance.

Hearing her words irritates Chamber to no end. He quickly pulls himself up and fires at her again.

Meanwhile, Psiren and Crust are at a training ground in Uncountable Enterprises, meant to test larger pieces of support equipment, working on Psiren's powers in a more mundane fashion.

"Good. Remember that your Quirk's main strength lies in its diversity. You can use it for attack, defense, and support if you properly wield it." Crust explains to Psiren as he watches her work with the artificial Quirk.

Right now, he is having her try multi-tasking using her ability. Crust has her to guard against a rubber bullet firing, a moving cannon using scrap metal, while simultaneously keeping several life-size puppets in the air.

Psiren is used to multitasking, thanks to constantly working on different inventions and helping her father, but is struggling with this task.

"This is more difficult than I thought," Psiren states as she does her best to maintain the puppets while adjusting the position of her temporary shields.

Luckily, the interface and systems in her armor are helping her with positioning. However, it can only help so much while she's still inexperienced with using the Quirk.

"Using a Quirk for the first time can be like that. Unlike most, you're trying to use it while it's already powerful instead of adjusting with it as you both grow. That makes it more difficult for you." Crust explains in a supportive manner.

"I guess you're right. Am I doing well?" Psiren asks him to see what he thinks of her progress.

"You're doing well. Far better than I expected for your first attempt at multi-tasking with your powers." Crust compliments her to improve her spirits.

"Really?" She excitedly asks, causing Crust to nod.

"Of course. It's impressive how you can consistently shift your guard to protect against the moving enemy." Crust tells her enthusiastically.

"Thanks!" Psiren shouts in gratitude.

Unfortunately, her happiness causes a momentary lapse in her focus, causing her defense to weaken enough for the turret to get some shots in on her. While they're only rubber bullets and she's wearing armor, she can still slightly feel the attacks hitting her body.

"Ow!" She yelps more out of surprise than pain as her concentration completely breaks, causing the dolls to fall to the ground.

"Don't lose focus. You need to be alert at all times." Crust states while a hexagon-shaped shield suddenly grows from the top of his fist, and he launches it between the bullets and Psiren.

"Sorry." Psiren apologizes for her mistake, causing Crust to give her a reassuring smile.

"There's no need to apologize. That's what training is all about: learning. If we didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't be human. And we must be human to support those around us as heroes." He explains to her in a suddenly enthusiastic manner.

Psiren nods at her teacher's enthusiasm, planning to try harder this time.

"I wonder how the boys are doing with their trainer?" She can't help but wonder before moving to redo her training.

Deku is thrown across the beach again after a failed attempt to attack Mirko. The two have been attacking her but haven't been doing much to hurt her. The woman is too fast and skilled for them to do significant damage.

"Are you two idiots even trying? Because it feels like you're underestimating me! Hurry up and start trying!" Mirko shouts at the two as she stands between them while they try to pull themselves up.

The truth is, the Kamen Riders have been holding back. They did equip their weapons to fight, but haven't used their Power Coins out of fear of doing significant damage to Mirko. However, they might have to if they want to do something to the woman. With that in mind, Chamber pulls out his signature Dragonfly Power Coin and inserts it into the Ultra Magnum.

"Dragonfly Power Finish!" The Hero Driver announces while firing several wild-moving energy bullets at Mirko to shut her up.

The announcement causes Mirko to turn around and see the bullets heading toward her. She grins at the challenge and quickly jumps to the side. As she watches the bullets change direction to follow her, she stays calm, already knowing about it after seeing it in a video. Instead of dodging again, she throws another kick forward. The wind force from it manages to hit some bullets, but a few manage to dodge. Seeing this, Mirko uses her other leg to gain more distance before repeating the same attack to take out more bullets.

"That wasn't bad, you bastard! It's about time you started taking this seriously! What else do you got?" Mirko demands an answer from him after destroying all the bullets.

Chamber is surprised that Mirko destroyed them all by dodging and attacking. The only other person he can remember who stopped all of his attacks was Terraswoop. And she did that by relying on a Quirk that messed with his bullets. Chamber grits his teeth as he realizes his usual methods might not work against Mirko. He's tempted to use stealth with the Chameleon Power Coin but doesn't think that will work with Mirko's ears.

Deciding to try to surprise Mirko and stop her movements, Chamber pulls out the Sprouting Power Coin before inserting it into the Ultra Magnum.

"Sprouting Power Finish!" The Hero Driver announces as Chamber fires another attack.

Instead of aiming for Mirko, he aims the bullets a few feet from her, confusing the rabbit woman.

"What the hell happened to your aim?" Mirko shouts before her ears hear something happening underground.

She looks down in time to see vines sprouting from under the sand and trying to envelop her. Luckily, she manages to jump before they get a firm grasp on her. Unfortunately, her ears hear another Hero Driver's announcement from the other direction.

"Bull Power Finish!" Deku's Hero Driver announces before the rabbit-themed Kamen Rider jumps after Mirko with his arm drawn back.

"I have the timing right. She shouldn't be able to dodge in the air." Deku thinks as he closes in on Mirko while the woman turns toward him.

Purple energy covers the Mighty Knuckle on his drawn-back arm as he grows closer to Mirko. Deku let Chamber draw Mirko's attention away from him so he might be able to get a surprise attack in. Now, he plans to use this opportunity to hit Mirko with a strong attack, hoping it will do something and prove their strength to the woman.

"Smash!" Deku shouts as he throws his arm at Mirko, believing it'll hit her torso.

However, he's shocked to see Mirko's surprised face suddenly turn into a grin. He watches as the woman turns upside down before kicking the incoming arm. Her long legs hit the area not enveloped with energy, sending Deku crashing into Chamber's plants.

"Ha! That was a good try, you bastards! You almost hit me!" Mirko laughs at them as she lands.

She stares down at Kamen Rider Deku before looking at Chamber with a smirk.

"You bastards weren't bad. It's too bad you're only semi-useful when working as a team. That makes you bastards no better than cowards." Mirko mocks the two with a matching grin.

Hearing her words causes Chamber to glare under his helmet while Deku struggles to get up. Her kicks easily break through the armor to hurt him. Mirko doesn't care about their reactions, though. She continues to taunt them with insults.

"I hate bastards like you! All you can do is leech off each other since you're too weak to do anything alone! Can't you do anything by yourselves? You only came close to hitting me after you worked together!" Mirko tells them as her tone gets more aggressive.

Deku flinches under his helmet as he hears Mirko's insults. They sound all too familiar to his old bullies.

"Come on, you bastards! Can't you do anything else? You must be somewhat capable since you took down all those Nomu! Show me you're capable. Or did you only win by teaming up against them all? If that's the case, you two really are useless!" Mirko shouts at them.

Toshinori is about to step in, not liking Mirko's treatment of them. But before he can, Mirko asks a question that surprises them all.

"How are you useless bastards going to survive if all you can do is win as a team?! What will happen if you bastards are separated? You bastards will be sitting ducks! Being a hero isn't for the fucking weak! Useless bastards that can't win on their own will only get killed!" Mirko shouts, causing the three to freeze.

It seems like Mirko isn't as similar to Katsuki as they thought. The way she's talking makes it sound like she's worried about their health now.

"Uh, thank you for your worry." Deku can't help but thank the woman, causing her to be the one who freezes.

She then glares at him before grabbing him by his helmet's ear.

"I'm not worried about you, you bastard! I don't want to be seen as a weakling because you bastards got killed! You already have a lot to make up for! You bastards haven't even gone to a school and rely on that tech! You should at least have some understanding of how to fight!" Mirko shouts at them.

"I already know how to fight. I've been studying martial arts for a while." Chamber adds, causing Mirko to glare at him.

"And how is that helping you against me or with shooting those guns?" Mirko demands an answer from him, causing Chamber to go silent.

"You bastards lack experience and training! Basic training and fighting ability will only get you so far when you face the randomness that comes from Quirks! You can't rely on that and need to change things up! You bastards seem to rely on those finishers! Try to fight without them!" Mirko orders.

The two Kamen Riders are hesitant to follow Mirko's order. They are so used to using the moves to change the tides of battle. However, Deku gets over his hesitation first and charges at Mirko. He gets into a boxing position and throws some jabs at Mirko with the Mighty Knuckle. The rabbit hero grins at Deku's willingness to follow orders. She nonchalantly dodges all of his attempts to hit her before jumping over his head. In his panic, Deku turns around and throws a messy spinning back fist, hoping it might hit her.

But Mirko grabs his arm before his fist can hit her face. She keeps a firm grasp on his arm and grins at him.

"At least one of you is willing to listen. Your punches aren't bad. But they're still pathetic. Move more. You have my Quirk, damn it. You should know rabbits are good at jumping. You need to do more kicks and jump around more." Mirko tells Deku before delivering a devastating knee strike into Deku's gut while letting go of the Kamen Rider's arm, sending him flying.

Deku rolls across the ground before pulling himself up and holding his gut in pain. As he pulls himself up, he can't help but compare Mirko to the Squid Nomu and Ice Nomu.

"She's amazing. It seems like she's stronger than the Squid Nomu. We can't hit her. She might even be at the same level as that Ice Nomu." Deku thinks as he stares at Mirko while Chamber moves to fight her.

He changes things up by charging at Mirko as he shoots at her. Chamber wants to try to attack her up close and leave less room for Mirko to dodge. The woman continues to jump to the side to avoid his shots while he tries to chase after her.

"What's this? A long-range fighter trying to get close? You've got guts to do that. Let's see if you have a way to back them up." Mirko states as she suddenly closes the distance between them with the force of one leg.

However, Chamber expected this. When he saw her prepare to charge at him, he quickly launched a massive energy bullet from the gun barrel on his head to intercept her. Mirko is surprised by this, and it seems like the bullet will hit her. Yet, her instincts somehow let her dodge the attack at the last second by ducking under it. But her ears do feel the bullet grazing them.

Chamber sees Mirko staying in place and quickly aims his wrist-mounted guns at her to try to hit her. Unfortunately, Mirko manages to roll out of the way in time before charging at him again. She tackles him before spinning his body around and throwing him into the air.

"Where am I?" Chamber can't help but wonder as he tries to figure out what's up and down.

As he tries to collect himself, Mirko jumps at him. She stops above him and connects her hands before slamming her fists into him in a double-hammer fist. The blow sends Chamber crashing down into the sand and causes Toshinori and Deku to wince.

When the dust clears, Shiki is lying on the sand while groaning. It seems Mirko's last attack made him lose his armor. Mirko lands over him and grins down at him.

"Nice try. You almost had me with that. It looks like you have some talent, after all. Too bad it looks like you can't take a punch." Mirko tells him as she stands over him.

Shiki looks at her through the pain, but Mirko doesn't care. She's staring at Deku with a grin while giving him a 'bring it' motion with her hand.

"Come on, Baby Bunny! Your buddy fought me until the end! You'll make yourself and me look bad if you don't do anything!" Mirko shouts at him with a battle-hungry grin as she orders him to continue attacking her.

Deku becomes nervous as he realizes Chamber is down. He knows he doesn't stand a chance against Mirko without his Power Coins and help. However, that doesn't stop him from continuing the spar. Mirko's last moves gave him an idea, too.

Deku bends his legs before springing at Mirko instead of running toward her or using a high jump. Mirko grins when she sees this and ducks under the sloppy punch Deku tries to use with his charge before kicking him away. Deku rolls across the ground before pulling himself up and trying to find Mirko. But she's not at the spot she was before. In fact, Deku can't see her anywhere on the ground.

"Where did she go!?" Deku can't help but ask in a panic before the armor warns him to look up.

He looks up to see Mirko falling toward him with her leg raised in an axe kick and a terrifying grin on her face. Deku quickly realizes what's about to happen and closes his eyes in fear.

"This is going to hurt." He thinks before getting slammed face-first into the ground by Mirko's attack.

His transformation ends, and he lies in the sand as Mirko rests her foot on the back of his head.

"Is that all you both have? That's too bad." Mirko mocks the duo before taking her foot off Izuku and putting him over her shoulder.

She then does the same thing with Shiki before throwing them onto the bench they were on earlier.

"Are they going to be okay?" Toshinori asks out of worry as he sees how beat up the two are.

"They'll be fine. They can walk it off. I didn't break anything." Mirko waves him off, seeming not to care about what she did to the two.

"Your methods are unorthodox. Hopefully, there will be no Nomus today. Because I don't think those two can handle them in their current conditions." Toshinori states with a sweatdrop at the woman's indifferent attitude.

"Ah, relax. If there is one, I'll handle it. Besides, I doubt we'll see anything with what the old giant said is right. The bastards are probably going to hold off on doing anything." Mirko states while waving Toshinori's worries off.

"Is all of their training going to be like this?" Toshinori asks as he begins to worry about whether his students will survive if they get more training like this from the woman.

"You're damn right it is. There's no better training than learning to take a punch and throw one back." Mirko proudly states in a boisterous tone.

Melissa, out of her armor, is taking a few deep breaths as she tries to recover from the fatigue caused by her training. As she recovers, Crust brings her a water bottle and towel.

"Thank you," Melissa tells him with a smile as she takes the items.

"Think nothing of it. You did wonderfully on your first day of practice." Crust compliments her with the same enthusiasm she's grown used to over the training and through her uncle.

"I'm glad. Hopefully, I'll catch up to the others by the time the war starts." Melissa states, before gaining a look of worry.

Crust sees this and quickly moves to lift her spirits.

"Worry not! As long as you keep up this progress, you'll be more than ready for the battle. I guarantee it!" Crust promises the girl with a thumbs up.

I might be taking a break from this story at some point. Part of me is wanting to start up a new Kamen Rider story for the verse while another wants to try a story of a completely different genre. And taking a break from this will really help me with some other stuff I need to do or focus on that story. I still haven't decided yet, though.

Well, damn, it’s been a while. Uni is kicking my ass, but I’ll try to do at least one update every week (the goal is one during the week and one on the weekend). Anyway, I hope you like this chapter too! Thank you all for your support; I really appreciate all the likes and comments. It’s my first fic, so seeing people enjoy it is so validating and motivates me to keep writing.

You had never gotten home so fast in your life. The entire drive was a blur—nothing but flashing lights, familiar roads, and the sound of your own pounding heart. It was a miracle you didn’t slam headfirst into someone else’s car or lose control of the wheel. The last, dying surge of adrenaline got you through a sloppy parking job, followed by a sprint into your apartment complex, straight to your apartment’s door. The moment it slammed shut behind you, you quickly locked the door. A distant voice in the back of your mind wondered if your neighbor would leave yet another passive-aggressive note about the noise, but you couldn’t care less right now, but you couldn’t care less now. For the first time in what felt like hours, you sucked in a shaky breath, leaning against the door as you slid down. Your back scraped painfully against the wood, but you didn’t care about that either. When your ass finally hit the floor, the whole nightmare came crashing down on you. The fear, the panic, the pain—it all hit you at once, in a suffocating wave that made your chest tighten.

Your nose had stopped bleeding during that hellish drive, but the damage was done and blood was everywhere, splattered all over your shirt, caked, crusted and dried. And then there was the sweat dripping down your body, making your skin sticky and gross. You smelled like rusty iron and sweat, a disgusting mix that made you want to puke, while the still sharp and throbbing ache in your nose acted as a constant reminder of how fucked up this day had been.

You sat there in silence. The tears long gone, dried somewhere between the drive and the door slamming shut behind you, but the exhaustion was still there. Everything hurt: Your head from being smashed into the wall, your face from Red Riot’s fists, your legs from sprinting like your life depended on it. And it might as well have been the case.

Minutes passed in agonizing stillness before you felt something besides pain and exhaustion. A vicious spike of anger shot through you. White-hot, boiling rage surged through your veins. It crashed into you with full force, tearing through the numbness. You had been terrified, yes—petrified, running for your life—but now? The fear had settled, buzzed out of your system, and only left rage in its wake. Staggering to your feet, you felt the room sway around you as you stumbled to the bathroom. Once you met your own eyes in the bathroom’s mirror, you couldn’t stand the sight of yourself—sweaty, bloody, pathetic and wrecked. It made your stomach churn. You looked like shit, arguably worse than shit. Your eyes were bloodshot, your face swollen, your lips busted wide open. And your nose—twisted in a way that made you wince just looking at it.

All of this for what ? Nothing.

That piece of shit Red Riot, did that to you. He came barging through the door like a red storm, no explanation needed before breaking your nose. You hadn’t even done anything wrong. Not a goddamn thing. But no Red Rio- Kirishima Eijiro, the known friendly hero, had acted like a rabid dog and torn into you without a second thought.

Fuck him. Matter of fact, fuck Todoroki too. Fuck those two.

He beat you into the ground, and you did nothing. You couldn’t do anything. Rage boiled in your chest as you yanked your clothes off and threw the bloodied, reeking fabric to the floor. Your hands reached for your face, intending to heal your injuries with your quirk but as your fingers brushed over the dried blood and bruises, you caught the faint scent of berries and honey beneath the sweat and rusty iron. Your stomach twisted as the memory of Todoroki’s desperate wet kisses on your hands flashed through your mind. The anger surged again, burning hotter as you quickly washed away his scent on you in the sink before healing yourself.

A soft yellow glow filled the room as your quirk worked to repair the worst of the damage—your split lips, your broken nose. A tingling sensation crept over your body, uncomfortable, but familiar and you frowned, concentrating on pushing through the discomfort as your quirk did its work. It wasn’t a “miracle-doing” type of quirk though, your nose straightened, your lips sort of healed—but the pain lingered, lurking beneath the surface. You’d only kick-started the healing process. It would take time for the swelling to go down, for the bruises to fade, for the pain to finally subside.

You hit the shower, cold water cascading over you, washing away the dried blood as you scrubbed your skin roughly with your loofah. You stayed under the chilling stream, hoping it would wash away the weight of this terrible day, letting it all drain down the sewer. It was only when you began to feel raw and too cold that you jumped out of the shower, dried yourself with your towel, and put on the first non-bloodied shirt you found on your way out of the bathroom.

Once you opened your bedroom door, you didn’t bother to turn on the light; the darkness felt comforting, and you welcomed it with open arms. You crawled under the sheets, burying yourself in the heavy comforter, yearning for the warmth it promised to bring. The weight of the blanket pressed down on you, grounding you in a way you needed after this atrocious day. You longed for it to smother the lingering anger and exhaustion, but you couldn’t shake the thoughts running rampant in your head. How long before Red Riot reported you to the police? How long until the hospital fired you and your medical license was revoked? It would be your word against his in front of a judge. “Beloved hero Red Riot catches a doctor taking advantage of his mate, other beloved hero, Shoto Todoroki,” you could already imagine the headlines. The public, police and judges would eat it up, siding with the hero without question.

After a day filled with chaos and pain, your mind was now horrifyingly clear. You knew it—there was no escaping this. You were done for.

Ironically, the only person who might have been as furious as you today was Kirishima. He was livid—at you for taking advantage of Shoto, at the villain he had to apprehend before rushing to the hospital, and at himself for arriving so late.

He barely noticed when you fled the room, his focus entirely on Shoto. He realized how awful of a partner he’d been, letting his anger consume him. He knew how overwhelming his scent got when that happened, and how sensitive omegas were to scents during their heat. Shoto’s heat wasn’t even due for another three weeks normally, his mate was always so punctual when it comes to thing like this, so to smell his familiar scent of berries and honey, so rich and intense from behind the door, surprised him when he first arrived at his mate’s hospital room earlier. But what really made him stop was the new, unfamiliar scent coming from the room

The two scents mingled, forming a mouthwatering fragrance of sweet, thick and ripe—berries, peach, and maybe apricot under a drizzle of hot honey. The combination was intoxicating, like stepping into an orchard at the height of summer, where each layer of sweetness blended perfectly with the next. The richness and depth of it were almost overwhelming, a scent so inviting and luscious it felt as though you could taste it, lingering and saturating the space around it. It was so enticing but equally odd, a foreign scent mixed with Shoto’s. The warmth and intensity of his mate’s scent coming through the door was a confirmation that he was already in heat and the thought of Shoto in such a vulnerable state with a stranger fueled Kirishima’s panic. Worried, he had bursted through the door to find you, a doctor, with your hands all over Shoto in a way that looked anything but professional, a red haze of fury had fully consumed him.

But now ? Now, he had to be there for Shoto. He had already wasted too much time dealing with you, and the pain in Shoto’s eyes confirmed he had already failed as a partner today.

“Shoto, are you okay? I’m so sorry I didn’t come—" His voice was thick with worry and panic, but Todoroki cut him off.

“Eijirou, home, now….just take me home."

“Of course. Let’s get you out of here.” Kirishima nodded instantly, his heart pounding as he held out his hand, ready to steady Shoto with it. Shoto was his priority now, and he couldn’t risk another creepy doctor coming in.

He took him by the arm and supported him as they both walked toward the exit. Pro heroes had their own separate exit in their hospital wing as a safety measure, preventing journalists from harassing them the moment they stepped outside. When they reached the hospital’s second front desk, the man working there gave them a confused look, as patients couldn’t be discharged without their doctor’s approval. However, one look from Kirishima discouraged him from asking any questions.

Once they left the building, Kirishima noticed Todoroki’s condition worsening. If his usual quiet demeanor was comforting and endearing, the silence now filled Kirishima with dread. He focused on getting Shoto home, guiding him to his car and helping him into the back seat. The heterochromatic boy appeared uncomfortable lying on the too-small back seat, and all Kirishima could do was hold his hands, and softly promises they’d be home soon.

The drive home was the most careful yet fastest he had ever experienced, but still one of the worst. He hated hearing Shoto's pained moans every time he accelerated too quickly or hit a bump too harshly.

Did I mention that chapter 3 was the end of the prologue? Well, I lied! I had planned an interesting scene between Kirishima and Todoroki, but this chapter ended up being so long. I think I'll save it for next time. Plus, I wrapped up the last two chapters similarly, with a character leaving the hospital in their car, so that counts for something. At the very least, it’s a mini cliffhanger: “Oh, what’s going to happen when Todoroki and Kirishima finally get back home? 👀👀👀 »

What did you think of the Kirishima POV part of this chapter? I feel like calling his mate by his last name is a bit silly, but I also noticed I overused their names. It’s just "Shoto... Kirishima... Shoto's... Kirishima..." on and on.

I can now confidently say that the prologue is complete—unless I decide otherwise in the next update!

Who would the 10-13 1A members that died in the MLA be, if MHA had any actual stakes? I really liked your Kaminari idea, so I just wanted to explore it with you. It would have realistically made UA/the heroes look a hell of a lot worse and the villains look a hell of a lot smarter if they went for the angle of "the best heroics school in Japan is using child soldiers!"

I know for the heroes, it should have been Pixie Bob and Gran Torino in addition to Crust. Endeavor also should have died because it would have actually given the story actual stakes - Japan is now in shambles and the new #1 hero/heavy hitter is dead. Oh shit, what are they going to do?

Firstly I feel I should clarify that both 1A and B would lose some team members as both classes were thrust into war with basically no real training. Although for the sake of plot 1A would lose vastly more.

With that stated, let us begin.

I know for a fact that Koda is dead.

Truthfully, there is no way someone as bulky as him (with the addition of his poorly designed costume) would be even marginally capable of outrunning Shigaraki's Decay.

His quirk (Anivoice) gives him zero advantages and being in Jaku (a city under evacuation) would only add to this.

We also mustn't forget that the rubble by itself was also capable of disintegrating anything it touched. Putting all that together and given how close he was to "ground zero", his chances of survival are slim to none.

Additionally, everyone who found Midnight's corpse is either dead or brutally injured.

Midnight's body is isolated in a decently foliage heavy area, with plenty of hiding spots and vantage points making it all too easy to set an ambush.

Our merry band of MLA/PLF mercenaries simply have to bide their time, wait for the shock and horror to settle in and then strike.

Sero, Kirishima and Setsuna are easy targets (with Setsuna being the farthest from the bait) their backs are turned and mentally are either distant or "vacant".

If Momo didn't recover from her grief and get off the floor, it's game over.

However. She would likely manage to fend them off long enough to escape (thanks to her intelligence and dexterity), although not without some scars. (eyepatch momo, anyone?)

Mina might be able to hold them off due to her acid but will eventually falter because (as you mentioned) Aizawa's a shitheel.

That brings us up to 5 students so far (if we include Kaminari's death) that have died due to UA's (and the HPSC's) crippling negligence.

I'm a tad hesitant to add Tsu here but it's unlikely she'd survive. (even if she does survive the wave, she'd likely die in the crossfire)

Comicman, because yeah he's unimportant.

For the Villa Raid team it's important that we cut some heroes in order for this scenario to work.

Edgeshot is dead, likely fried to death by Electro-lite.

This would cause the raiding heroes to become discouraged and overwhelmed.

the MLA's gear is more than a match and combined with their years of fighting and tactical prowess. It's not even close.

Simply put; divide and conquer.

Mineta's dying for sure. His costume restricts his (torso and leg) movements and makes him standout like a traffic cone. That guy with holes all over his body is likely the one to snuff him out.

Ojiro is dead the moment the MLA members use numbers to overwhelm him, no amount of martial arts will save you from getting jumped.

Mines dies because his quirk (Twin Impact) suffers from the Flect Fallacy.(Overwhelming the quirk will break it). So pretty much any MLA member could be the one to kill him

That sets the score to 11 total student deaths (8 for 1A, 3 for 1B), not a good look.

We know the rest, Dabi kills Enji for good.

Skeptic publishes a video along with Dabi's exposé that reveals UA is using child soldiers and that the HPSC forged paperwork to allow this.

And the crowd goes wild!

The reactions would be brutal, national if not global criticism from every angle.

The entire raid and evacuation effort would be considered an immense failure, the villains remain at large to gather their numbers and most civilians would be left homeless and displaced.

The hero that everybody placed their bets on turned out be a child/wife beating eugenicist who bought (and later assaulted) his wife when she was only 17. Only to be killed off by the very child he left to burn.

The (global) outrage partially stems from the fact that if it weren't for Dabi, no one would have known otherwise .

The number 2 hero is an (attempted) murderer and seems almost irritated at Enji being outed, the world stage takes this the wrong way and opts not to aid Japan.* What pisses them off the most is his uncaring attitude.

Considering them a lost cause when Shigaraki not only breaks everyone out of Tartarus but also manges to kill AFO by sheer force of will (and wanting to see his friends live as they please)

Rei's speech/conference serves as the final nail. Going into immense detail of the pain she and her children suffered at the hands of Enji. (If their were any doubts Touya was her son, they were killed here)

When asked if anyone knew, she finishes her speech off with revealing that some heroes and staff knew about the abuse and chose to look the other way. Causing the room to burst into an uproar.

*(explaining why Japan was allowed to fester for as long as it did without intervention, something Hori failed to explain)

Parents begin pulling out their children in droves, not wanting to risk their kids getting drafted, others quit by choice.

Shiketsu and Ketsubutsu don't put their students on the front lines (they aren't stupid). The commission is unable to force them due to their, "unique" situation.

The heroes that quit are harshly criticized by the public and media (and usually fairly too), pointing out how shitty it looks (and is) for heroes to suddenly abandon them as soon as things get serious.

Class 1A is left to pickup the pieces with 8 classmates killed (+ Bakugo) the events of the last week have shocked them to their cores but perhaps there is hope.

Of course they're left to pick up their predecessors mistakes, again.

Midoriya would still go rouge, albiet he would stick to his principals. He's made a disturbing connection between Bakugo and Endeavor and it haunts him.

(I should add that Bakugo's death is portrayed for the selfish play it was)

Midoriya likely driven by the need to ensure that he doesn't lose anyone else. His anger at AM would probably stem from the fact that he is putting himself in danger for someone as "expendable" as himself.

I could see the two having a heart to heart that Midoriya is more than his quirk once he willingly returns.

Some additional information:

Bakugo dies permanently, because Edgeshot was killed by "Electro" earlier (even then I'm not doing the writing atrocity that is the "Jeart".)

For heroes I'd like to add Jeanist to the roster. Gigantomachia should have swatted him and his airship like a fly. This means the top 3 are dead, adding to the chaos. This also prevents the old-gen from taking up space.

The High-End Nomu beat the tar out of Miriko, leaving crippled at best and a paraplegic at worst. (That is assuming they don't kill her).

Fourth Kind is killed when, like Ojiro, he is overwhelmed.

Your absolutely correct, Gran Torino and Pixiebob are eliminated, joining Crust.

Twice actually lives, though I would keep that ambiguous until later, he wouldn't get out unscathed of course and would probably need to be put into a coma while his injuries heal.

Himiko's revenge plot now has additional stakes as she promises Twice that she will return to him. (before he's medically put under)

This also fuels the PLF + Spinner, vowing to do right by their ally and friend.

Dabi would have disfigured Hawks upon discovery of his attempt on Twice's life, no more cosmetic scars. Just good old fashioned brutality.

(The fear of losing Twice may have dug up the past memory of losing his mother after Enji drove her to the brink. As Dabi cares deeply for both [even if he won't admit it] ontop of the fact that it's a "hero" that's trying to take them and he betrayed them).

Overall this world is going to be one wild ride with a very different ending to what Hori gave us.

It is a story not of heroes and villains, but of ideals and goals. It asks the question:

What is it to save?

A few additional notes:

Momo would likely have a revenge arc as a sort of parallel between Izuku and Himiko. However it wouldn't be as bland as what we got in canon with Mina.

The mercenaries aren't mustache twirling supremacists, no. Here they're cold, calculated soldiers who are strictly tactical. Midnight was "nothing personal, just business" to them.

They serve as a dark mirror to Momo's shift in personality during the war, as Momo reverts to her initial cold confidant personality and kicks it up to 20 as she hunts them down.

Midnight's killer even points out midbattle on how Momo was sexualized and she doesn't even know it. Telling her at one point: "You may see them as an equal, they see you as a display"

The battle isnt treated as a victory either, while the Momo and her squadron win, the gravity of the situation isn't ignored and Momo actually listens to her opponent's critique.
