I preordered the new Yuwu and Thousand Autumns books weeks ago from the Crunchyroll store but they never came 😭I had to cancel the order cause they wouldn’t give me any info when I contacted them. They hadn’t even shipped yet and they were in stock. I’m so disappointed cause like what’s the point of preordering if they don’t send it when it’s out??

Has anyone else had this experience? I subscribe so was hoping to save a bit of money on the books but not really worth it if you don’t get them.

Steady complaints about now having to order anime from the Crunchyroll Store in the place of Right Stuf accumulated on message boards to the point of me very much contemplating trying to buy from some new alternative. The problem was that a great deal of the anime I buy nowadays is from Discotek, and their Blu-Rays aren’t available from a lot of places...

WOW people who buy physical media are dvds becoming a thing of the past now..... is blu-ray taking over........

I ordered a couple of Blu-rays through Crunchyroll & saw they had "blind box bargains" & was intrigued. The ratings are all like 2.5 and lower, but all the reviews I read through were things like "I got a Blu-ray for an anime I don't even watch" and "I got a DVD, they're obsolete!"

So I bought one of each price point

1) my Blu-ray player plays all region DVDs (also I'm like the only person I know that gets Blu-ray? Everyone else I know uses DVD because they're cheaper to buy or doesn't collect physical media? What is that person's life like that DVDs are obsolete? I am fascinated by that review)

2) I fucking love getting stuff I've never watched or read through this method. Like those shitty ratings are basically telling me this is right up my alley.

05/25/24: Crunchyroll anime order is here! I actually got it last night. But I wanted to post it today. I got other cool things recently, and I don't wanna post it all at once. This is my first time buying from them. But I did buy more, years back when it was Right Stuf. Berserk was the more expensive buy, but it was still less than other online retailers. I've been wanting this for years now. As I only had one dvd of It, and I'll finally get to see it all. Appleseed is another for my collection as I have it on VHS. As well as El Hazard. I had tapes years ago, but never fully complete like this. And the last time I saw Iria, I was a little kid in the 90s. Hop on board the anime nostalgic train!
