Euphoria hit me today
Just got my haircut. Little boy on the bus was staring at me and I was wondering if he was thinking I was a boy or girl and had to stop myself. I am a boy and I nearly wept as my chest was throbbing. The euphoria was finally hitting me. I wondered if I would ever feel it since my mother’s death. I looked at my photo I took and posted on an FTM support groups. A member said they see a grown man,…

Most people think of getting sick as a part of life. You get sick, you go to the doctor, take your medicine, and like “magic” you get better, and afterwards you go on with your life as if nothing happened. Those few sleepless nights with stuffed noses, stomach aches, and body pain are nothing compared to the long, healthy life that most of them will live. ☆ That’s the funny thing about chronic pain and chronic illness. You’re healthy… until you’re not. Some days you have more energy, or more spoons, and others, you don’t. Last week I was staying in bed every day until 2pm because I wasn’t sleeping at night, wasn’t feeling well, and played it off as “staying up all night reading” to my family because, I am a bookworm, and that is believable to the people I love. I almost dropped out of NaNoWriMo this year because, I have just felt like absolute shit. ☆ I also have a huge week ahead between an Allergist appointment, having to go to Rush on Tuesday, a DEXA scan Wednesday, and more that I haven’t even called to set up yet. All the while my little brother turns 21 on Monday, and I NEED to get my shit together enough to make his birthday pie, and the casserole that he asked for because this is his 21st birthday, and I cannot drop the ball here. Our mom passed away in 2020, and she can’t be here to make it a good birthday so I HAVE to. ☆ I am fucking STRESSED. ☆ #EDS #EhlersDanlos #Stress #Insomnia #Depression #ChronicIllness #ChronicallyIll #Insomniac #Spoonie #SpoonTheory #POTS #ChronicPain #CRPS #InvisibleIllness #ButYouDontLookSick #Disabled #DisabilityAwareness #AuDHD #ChronicPainAwareness #DisabledCreator #MCAS #PTSD #Dysautonomia #InternationalDayofDisability #MentalIllness #nanowrimo #aspiringauthor https://www.instagram.com/p/CluFGucv7Bc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My blog is pretty dead recently, so I'll bring some random CRP headcannons:
No, just because they are killers doesn't mean they don't have tastes, hobbies and do normal human things. Even though they lost their humanity, they were once human and never stopped being so.
Most proxies hate Slenderman. He literally destroyed their lives and they have no choice but to obey or die. Except for the ones who follow him by choice.
EJ can eat the whole human body if he wanted, but he chooses to eat the kidneys because it won't cause much harm since despite him becoming a monster, there is still a trace of humanity in him.
The government in the universe of creepypastas has involvement with them, since there is no police or military service competent enough to catch the killers. What is just weird.
There are anomalies, killers and entities who haven't been catalogued before, these are the unknown creepypastas.
These things known as "creepypastas" have existed even before humanity itself. And throughout human history they were treated as monster legends that our ancestors told around the campfire.
Not all of creepypastas have to be necessary evil and sadistic.
The same way we make jokes about the quiet kid that have the chance to make a massacre in the school some day, the kids in creepypasta universe makes jokes about the quiet kid end up being a proxy or serial killer like toby.
People in that universe have tips to detect some red flags that indicate an anomaly or killer in case you end up in a relationship with them.
Not all killers look scary or have an appearance that shows that they are a killer, most of them look very friendly and humanly.
The parents in this universe teaches their kids to never trust clowns or anyone that is too friendly to them.
Ppl in creepypasta universe are more aggressive than here, because they literally live in a world with strange entities, super killers and monsters, they always have a gun or at least know a fighting tip. They also have trust issues.
This world is worse to live than here because you have to deal with the stress of life and have the thought that you or a loved one can be brutally murdered at any time.

Fellow disabled folk, i need some advice
On Thanksgiving, for 5 days, my uncle on my moms side, a very rich engineer, has booked a massive mansion b and b that can hold like 20 people. The b and b is a 6 hour drive from me, me and my mom and sisters were invited, but many of the people that will be there are extended cousins i have never met.
Here is the issues:
1. The 5 days line up near my k infusions. If i went i would need k infusions literally the day after, which means while im there the past infusions are starting to wear off and i could possibly feel unmedicated pain and flairs.
2. My crps makes long drives painful, to combat that i lay in the backseat with a heating pad, but there is no way around the fact that a 6 hour drive will hurt, drain my energy, and possibly cause a flair.
3. While im there i need care from my mom, i need to lay down most of the time, i need to rest a lot, i need access to hot baths. (The place has like 3 bathrooms with baths.) And i feel this will 1, be hard to plan around with so many people, and 2 unintentionally isolate me from the group.
4. Most of these people are strangers, they know nothing about me and my disability, and that paired with my autism makes me feel like i wouldn't really click with these people, and i feel many activities will unintentionally exclude me because they are not prepared for my needs and wont even think about or consider them because i am a stranger to them.
Everything in my gut tells me this is a bad idea. I know these things will happen, but my family wants me to come. My ultimate decision is no, but I'm really needing some reassurance i am making the right decision for myself. Ever since i became disabled trips with even close family on my moms side has been tense at times because they were not equipped to care for me which let to me getting really angry because i felt i had suffered for nothing, and my family fighting with me because my needs stress them out. Any kind words would be appreciated.
My boyfriend agrees it would probably be a bad idea, so im not fully alone on my feelings.
In short im going to be in a very vulnerable state surrounded by strangers.

im so pissed. im so beyond pissed. the last few weeks have been nothing but medical neglect and im so over it.
i recently put all my meds in a drug interaction checker and found out im at a severe risk of serotonin syndrome. ive been dealing with shitty side effects for weeks because my doctors couldn't be assed to make sure im not on a dangerous medicinal cocktail.
also, i looked at the bloodwork i got months ago that "ruled out" any autoimmune disorders (and got me the fibro dx), and my CRP score was 13. the normal range is 0-5, and anything above an 8 is indicative of an autoimmune disorder. i got THIRTEEN and my doctor had the nerve to write "just a little high, could be anything from stress to allergies" the fuck???
im. so tired of dealing with medical neglect. my doctors just don't give a shit and can't be assed to actually do their jobs, and im paying for it physically and financially.

This holiday season is generally seen as a time of joy and celebration. However, for some people, it can be a time of difficult reflection, sadness, loneliness, anxiety and depression. Psychoanalyst James P. Cattell coined the term holiday syndrome, defining it as a reaction that manifests itself at the end of the year. He describes this syndrome as: "A presence of diffuse anxiety, numerous regressive phenomena, including marked feelings of helplessness, increased irritability, nostalgic rumination, depressive affect, and a desire for magical problem-solving." This period does not precipitate but can expose emotional suffering. Loneliness for some, the stress associated with travel and family gatherings, for others, confronting losses, and financial insecurity, among many other factors, are routinely cited as contributing to an increase in episodes of depression. There are no ready-made formulas to resolve this confrontation with existence. But as Dunker says: There is a mistake in looking at our lives as if we were just productive machines, limiting ourselves to what we earn or produce, as if our application to studies were an investment, as if our dreams were goals. And he wisely points out: "To weave the thread of desire that connects who we are to what we were, inventing what we will be, it is necessary to examine the intensity and quality of what is linked to certain things we call desire. And may we gently mirror and magnify the light of others, welcoming their shadows. Dulce Tereza By Giorgio Rigotto. Clinical psychologist. CRP 07/03860. If you know me, then you probably know that for the past 6-months I’ve been using the Finch self-care app. While, I will be making a full review of the app, I just wanted to share with everyone what my birb had to say after their adventure today because, I think it’s great. , I was just complaining that my life feels like a Grey’s Anatomy crossover, and that I would rather it be a House crossover instead. The irony is killing me. ☆ #EhlersDanlos #Stress #Insomnia #Depression #ChronicIllness #ChronicallyIll #ZebraGang #Insomniac #Spoonie #NoSpoons #SpoonTheory #POTS #ChronicPain #CRPS #InvisibleIllness #ButYouDontLookSick #Disabled #DisabilityAwareness #Finch #FinchSelfCare https://www.instagram.com/p/ClZ2m_fL8Me/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Can inflammation cause depression?
There’s evidence to suggest that inflammation can contribute to the development of depression in many people, particularly among individuals with preexisting inflammatory conditions or chronic illnesses.
For instance, research suggests that the link between inflammation and depression is commonly seen in conditions like autoimmune diseases (e.g., multiple sclerosis) and infections (e.g., sepsis) where the immune system plays a significant role.
How does inflammation affect your mental health?
When your immune system is activated, it affects not only the body but also the central nervous system, which includes the brain. Chronic inflammation is linked to changes in the brain’s chemistry and structure, which can increase the risk of depression.
Inflammation can impact mental health in several ways:
Neurotransmitter imbalance: ResearchTrusted Source suggests that inflammation may disrupt brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) like serotonin and dopamine, leading to mood imbalances.
Hormonal disruption: Inflammation can affect stress and sex hormone levels (e.g., cortisol, estrogen), impacting mood and cognition.
Neuroinflammation: EvidenceTrusted Source suggests that inflammation within the brain itself can cause cognitive and mood problems.
Reduced neuroplasticity: Chronic inflammation may hinder the brain’s ability to adapt and learn.
Oxidative stress: Inflammation may increase oxidative stress, damaging brain cells.
In many adults, depression and inflammation appear to be separate issues. One studyTrusted Source found that clinical depression in older individuals isn’t typically linked to increased inflammation unless they have preexisting inflammatory conditions like arthritis.
How do you know if your depression is caused by inflammation?
Determining if your depression is caused by inflammation typically involves specialized medical tests and assessments. This may involve blood tests to measure inflammatory markers or discussions with your doctor about your medical history and symptoms.
However, here are some signs that suggest inflammation may be contributing to your depression:
You have other inflammatory conditions (e.g., autoimmune disorders, chronic infections, or inflammatory bowel disease).
Your depression had a sudden onset (especially in response to an infection or injury).
Your depression doesn’t respond to antidepressants.
You have physical symptoms (e.g., fatigue, joint pain, or fever)
You have high stress levels (chronic stress can trigger inflammation).
You have a family history of both depression and inflammatory conditions.
You have elevated markers of inflammation, like CRP or cytokines, in specialized blood tests.
Treatment options for inflammation-related depression
Treatment options for inflammation-related depression typically aim to target both the underlying inflammation and the depressive symptoms. Here are some common approaches:
Anti-inflammatory medications: Some evidenceTrusted Source suggests that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or anti-inflammatory agents like corticosteroids may be prescribed to reduce inflammation.
Healthy diet: A comprehensive reviewTrusted Source of 41 studies revealed that maintaining a consistently healthy diet, especially one in line with the traditional Mediterranean diet, or simply avoiding diets that promote inflammation, may protect against depression.
Psychotherapy: Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapies may help manage depression symptoms.
Medications: Some evidenceTrusted Source suggests that certain antidepressants, like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), can reduce inflammation in the brain, which may contribute to their effectiveness.
Light therapy: A 2017 study found that combining bright light therapy with antidepressants for nonseasonal depression could be effective. Participants also showed significant changes in immune-related lymphocyte counts.
Omega-3 fatty acids: Omega-3 supplements, found in fish oil, have anti-inflammatory properties and may help with depression symptoms.
Mind-body practices: Practices like yoga and meditation can help manage stress and potentially reduce inflammation.
Probiotics: Some research suggests that probiotics may have a positive impact on gut health and inflammation, which could indirectly affect mood.
Anti-inflammatory foods:
Here are some of the most anti-inflammatory foods on the planet, backed by research:
Fatty Fish: Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, mackerel, and sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which have potent anti-inflammatory effects.
Turmeric: Curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, has been shown to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body.
Ginger: Ginger has anti-inflammatory compounds like gingerol and shogaol, which have been shown to reduce inflammation and pain.
Berries: Berries such as blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and pomegranates are rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, which have anti-inflammatory effects.
Green Tea: Green tea contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which has been shown to reduce inflammation and improve symptoms of arthritis.
Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate contains flavonoids, which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Olive Oil: Olive oil is rich in oleocanthal, a compound that has been shown to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress.
Cruciferous Vegetables: Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and kale contain sulforaphane, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Fatty Nuts and Seeds: Nuts and seeds like walnuts, chia seeds, and flaxseeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.
Leafy Greens: Leafy greens like spinach, kale, and collard greens are rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, which have anti-inflammatory effects.
Garlic: Garlic contains compounds like allicin, which have been shown to reduce inflammation and improve cardiovascular health.
Apples: Apples contain quercetin, a flavonoid that has anti-inflammatory properties.
Pineapple: Pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain, which has anti-inflammatory properties.
Sweet Potatoes: Sweet potatoes are rich in beta-carotene, an antioxidant that has anti-inflammatory effects.
Mushrooms: Certain mushrooms like reishi, chaga, and cordyceps have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Trends in Sudden Cardiac Death in Pilots: A Post COVID-19 Challenging Crisis of Global Perspectives (2011-2023)
Preprint: Posted July 1, 2024
Abstract
Background Sudden cardiac death (SCD) remains a significant threat to pilots and is a leading cause of death worldwide, jeopardizing flight safety and causing devastating consequences. This review examines the trends in SCD among pilots from a global perspective, analyzing evidence from 2011 to 2023, with a focus on its growing impact as a global crisis and recent findings pointing to a potential rise in incidence, particularly after 2019.
Methods A systematic search of peer-reviewed literature, international aviation databases, and pilot associations was conducted to identify relevant data. The analysis focused on trends in SCD prevalence, risk factors, prevention strategies, and recent findings, including the potential impact of COVID-19, the role of vaccination, and important biomarkers to screen for predisposition.
Results Recent studies suggest a potential increase in SCD incidence among pilots following the COVID-19 pandemic. Cardiovascular complications, increased stress, disruptions in healthcare, and changes in lifestyle may contribute to this potential rise. Biomarkers such as troponin, N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) have been identified as potential indicators of increased SCD risk in pilots.
Conclusion SCD remains a significant and rising threat to pilots, posing a global crisis that requires immediate attention. Through a comprehensive approach that includes risk assessment, preventive measures, emergency response, and preventive protocols, the aviation industry can mitigate this risk and safeguard the lives of pilots and passengers.
The proposed standardized examination protocol for pilots includes regular cardiovascular risk assessment, biomarker screening, monitoring of COVID-19 and vaccination status, lifestyle modifications, and a standardized reporting system. The adoption of a standardized protocol by aviation regulatory bodies and airlines worldwide is crucial to address the growing threat of SCD among pilots and ensure the highest standards of aviation safety.

Various crps x reader who has leg pain
Except its hyper specific to the admin and the pain is caused by staying still for too long and it gets worse with stress (as most things do)- something something excruciating leg pain that seems far worse than simply "feeling cramped from sitting for a few hours" and hits you even when youre asleep and it SUCKS!! i hate it!! i genuinely dont know if this is normal or not and im just overreacting but it hurts so so much and i hate it because i get have to get up every hour-ish
Characters: slenderman, laughing jack, nina the killer
Notes: reader is GN, not written with any condition or anything in mind, based off of admins experiences and his experience does not reflect all, admin uses all pronouns for nina, short post
CWs: edit, possible talk of horrible pain but yeah
Slenderman
Offers to take you out for a walk to help unwind your legs
i WAS going to say he offers to carry you but that defeats the purpose of getting up to work that pain out
sometimes it persists for longer, he offer to massage your legs with his tentacles- soft but firm and theyre warm so great for soothing any pains in my opinion!
very firm when trying to get you to take a break, will not take no for an answer...
he WILL interfere with your electronics if thats what youre using- though its not often because sometimes it can make it fizzle out when youre in the middle of something and you didnt save or cant save
Laughing Jack
Good news! Hes all over the place and begging for your attention, so it's likely you'll be on your feet a lot already!
yoinking this from ninas part but i do think he offers to dance with you just to get you on your feet
will swoop right in the second he notices you constantly shifting your legs around in your seat or when you start tapping your foot
feel bad for taking yourself away from your work even though its to undo some of the pain developing in your legs? jacks going to make a scenario where you need to come and help him- there! guilt eradicated for now! it'll likely be something as simple as needing help finding something!
gives you candy to try to help make you feel better, always keeps your favorite on hand
Nina the Killer
Offers to go on walks with you as well but I can also just as likely see them asking you to dance with them as they turn on some music... they're tooooootally smooth about asking you yeah totally
as a side note you both definitely make a playlist together! you also both make playlists for each other!
a lot of the music is fast and hyper, but if you dont want to dance to keep up with the beat she lets you know its okay to dance to your own tune
really just does anything to help you get on your feet if youre confined to an area for too long, makes sure you take breaks if you need to sit and work on something
master of self care when it comes to others, not so much when it comes to herself
