Raymona pulls Ramon into her embrace once more and plants a big kiss on his cheek. She loved him so much. He knew she was capable of defending herself but wouldn't hesitate to back her up if he needed it, and she'd do the same for him. She interlaces her fingers with Ramon's, the same hands that wore their wedding bands.

When asked about Jano, the elderly limbless let out a soft, sweet chuckle.

"I have known him for many years. Long before you entered the glade. I too sought his aid for the sake of a loved one, but that was many years ago. His eye sees all over the world, not just within The Glade of Dreams. Had it not been for him, I worry about how much worse my king would have fallen. He may have turned a lot worse than what he is now.

He may act cold and harsh, but he's not evil... I don't expect you to understand. I know it will be difficult to do, but please... be kind to him. Don't hurt him..."

Her gaze fell to the floor, clutching the beads tighter. Ramon started to feel like something was watching him.

He wanted Mona, just for that, just because she is part a Wild one, just because of that!! Like a kid throwing a tantrum over power.... He was so isgusted with that king, and furious too. He couldn't find his own Queen, so wanted to take a married woman!!

OFMD WEEK 2023

Ahoy there, pirates! OMFD season 2 is right around the corner so I wanted to organize an official OFMD WEEK to celebrate! I’ve tried to come up with some original prompts for each day, and it will run from Sunday, September 24th to Saturday, September 30th right before season 2 drops. Make sure to use the hashtag #OFMDWeek2023 so that we can locate your works and keep it all in one place. I hope many of you are able to participate and support those who do by liking and reblogging their posts, as well as reblogging this to get the word around! One of the few ABO fics I will admit to having read, because it is such an interesting regency era Pride and Prejudice premise, with one of my all time favorite characters. (Laurence- it's Laurence.) Not that there is anything wrong with ABO, but I try not to bring up mpreg in casual conversation.

The Diplomats Dragon by indecisive_lotus

HAMMOND!!! I love this fic, because I have a deep unwavering love for characters perceived as unlikeable, who are revealed to be given depth. This is such an interesting perspective to the entire Temeraire series, with SUCH a different dragon character from any in the actual series. Churki is such an interesting, stubborn, grandmotherly character who has taken Hammond upon herself like a plague. Fantastic fic, fantastic family dynamics, fantastic outside perspective to the series.

Mutiny on the Reliant by WerewolvesAreReal

PIRATE KING LAURENCE. This reads as all the potential the original Laurence have, just if circumstances were slightly different. Fantastic look into the mechanics of having and loving a dragon, and a high seas adventure to boot.

If you have time, absolutely peruse the authors other fics, because they are FANTASTIC and one of my favorite authors, and have a very extensive list of works that probably have SOMETHING for you.

Okay I can't think of any more right now- but I do have I think a snippet of a Star Wars/Temeraire crossover somewhere lol. Hold on let me look...

OKAY I FOUND IT! This is from 2018. It was a little snippet I scribbled down to possibly expand later, of how dragons would work in space lol. BB-8 is Poe's sweet little combat dragon, Finn steals an imperial dragon- I don't remember the rest, but I had a whole AU planned for it lmao.

Dragons came in all sorts of shapes, after millenia of evolution.

Some were wingless, serpentine, and inhabiting aquatic planets where they filtered chlorine based bacteria through sturdy steel-like gills. There were dragons that hibernated in geothermal vents, emerging only with great cataclysm to breed and nest and kill, and sleep again. Like natural disasters. Once the ancestors of dragons long ago gained the ability of cosmic travel, wings scudding through light and solar radiation as easily as birds through air, they spread their seed across the universe and grew roots more varied and colorful than any other species.

The only dragons Rey had seen before had been the vast, cruiser sized things that traversed the deserts of Jakku.

Untamable by either the Resistance or the First Order; implacable, and crossing the stretching desert on clawed feet that shook the ground and made the sand jump for miles around. They survived almost entirely on starlight, with their vast wings built for the absorption of endless desert sunlight, like their star crossing ancestors, reluctant to fly. From a distance they looked almost like cruisers, with solar sails fluttering gently in the desert breeze, and the shimmering haze of the desert obscuring their tree-trunk like legs and low slung heads.

Some enterprising settlers had tried to harness them, in the fashion of colonized planets everywhere, who took advantage of whatever draconic species inhabited the area. Occasionally you’d still find remnants of the taming coalitions who’d made any kind of progress, their shattered bones sucked dry by the thirsty desert, and buildings smashed into shards of durasteel and permacrete.

The herds were unforgiving, and the ruins had been left to their sand and sun and gravel pits.

One taking rare flight was enough wind force to cause storms miles away, heaving the heavy, hot Jakku air like someone stirring soup. They could be seen as a shape in the sky even bigger than that of the two moons, wings that covered the stars and uncovered wrecks that were long since buried with the force of their winds. Scavengers scrambled desperately in their wake, risking the wrath of the herd for undiscovered wreckage.

Rey had seen one fly once when she’d been little and thirsty, dragging a load of fuses as long as her arm on a sled, and sweat sticking her hair to her eyes and face. She’d been covered in dust for days, caked so thick two rains hadn’t washed it away and she’d cracked at her elbows and knees where it had baked hard and red.

But the sight of those massive wings, and the dull mottled brown hide creaking into the cold air like an impossible thing had stayed in her dreams for weeks.

This one struggling in the Teedo’s net  was much smaller.

The fading sunlight made it hard to see, the shapes simply an outline of a struggle against the golden sand. But Rey had sharp eyes, and she hadn’t strained or exhausted herself nearly as much as she’d expected to today searching the remains of an Imperial series 5 cruiser. Made it easy to get involved.

“Hey!” There was no response from the Teedo at her irritated cry, only an angry shrill screeching that sounded almost mechanical, the dragon’s elegantly frilled head pinned against its side and claws tangled in the shredded net.

There were two Teedo, both lashing the net to their respective luggabeasts and chattering excitedly. Rey uncertainly thought she caught a few words about coin, and immediately felt a hot rage grip her throat, flipping from mildly irritated to furious. Enslavement wasn’t uncommon on Jakku, but it didn’t change the fact that she personally found it distasteful. She’d been saved from the fate multiple times only by the good will of Jabu, something in the disgusting man's morals holding to whatever contract had inclined him to hire Rey in the first place.

This was someone’s beast, judging by the Alliance-issue harness on it, and they were going to sell it as meat.

“I said HEY,” Rey skidded to a halt as she reached the bottom of the dune, and the little ragged figures jerked back, hissing and chittering angrily at her.

The dragon struggled anew at the interruption, shrieking in fury and kicking up enough dust with its free tail that Rey had to squint behind her own head covering. “That’s a Rebel dragon you’re taking to the slaughter,” She informed them coldly, raising her voice only slightly to be heard over the racket, and the chittering slowed to a sullen muttering.

“Yes! Yes, yes, home, Poe home gone other man take-” The dragon seemed overcome by this, and squalled in fury, jerking towards one of the Teedo, and almost shutting its teeth (net and all) over its extended arm, which was grasping the net. Its words were oddly stilted, short- although whether it was with stress or some impediment wasn’t very clear.

The Teedos shrieked in their own alarm, and in the brief moment they backed away from snapping jaws, Rey leapt over the wildly swinging tail and past their reach. She took her knife to the netting, glancing off of the hard sunset and steel-colored scales running from the dragons brow, to the tip of its tail. She sawed through the netting with no small amount of effort, arms burning and fingers slipping from sweat. The heat coming off of the dragon was incredible in the dry, brisk Jakku evening, and she thought surely it couldn’t be natural. It frizzled the hair on her arms, and rippled the air touching it’s scaly soft hide like an oven heating.

One of the little thieves realized what she was doing and crackled an angry warning, grabbing her roughly by the back of her tunic and throwing her onto the sand- but she was back up in a flash, yelling angrily and swinging the knife still in her hand in a short sharp arc that missed the Teedo by a bare inch. She bared her teeth, furious enough that the way the scavengers gripped their staffs and moved carefully forward didn’t scare her nearly as much as it should have.

But she’d done her damage. With a horrendous series of ripping pops, the net came away completely, and the dragon unfurled its wings and thrashed its way free of the net, knocking one of the luggabeasts over onto its side with a sad groan of metal and a weakly kicking leg. The net trailed sadly from its saddle as the dragon disentangled itself, almost frantic with its movements and chittering too fast for Rey to understand.

It let out a triumphant squall, and drew in an incredibly large breath, chest expanding unnaturally, and throat pouching now that it was freed- and with a clicking rattle like a ripper raptor-

It spewed a hot and dusty flame the color of the blue sands at night across the two who had trapped it. Indigo and glittering, the flame charred the sand enough that Rey thought she caught glittering hints of glass, throwing an arm across her eyes to fight the glare.

It was rife with a chemical fume that sent her staggering back, retching faintly and dizzy with the sudden smell of burning meat and the shrieking of the Teedo, whose arms waved frantically in an attempt to shuck the burning rags off of itself. The second was already prone on the ground and crackling like a merry blaze, the fire turning bright red and greasy as it ate away at its new fuel. The smell was horrendous, as if someone had lit a pile of sodden trash.

Suddenly there was a jerking around her waist that almost made her vomit, sharp and sudden, her breath leaving in a whoosh- and the two burning red dots were growing further and further away on the blueing sands as she was dragged into the sky.

Above her, the dragon shrieked victoriously and chittered and Rey cheerlessly wished that it had at least let her grab her pack half-depleted of ion batteries and broken medical scanners before flying them away.

(I made a separate account way back when because Space_Dweeb was my holdout from FFN, but when I decided that I wanted to just bite the bullet and start writing cute shippy stories I was afraid of associating it with my "serious" works. What fandoms do you write for?

Pretty much exclusively Halo. I wrote a story for the Illuminae Files a little while ago because I read that trilogy this spring and it changed the chemical balance of my brain and hasn't let me go since. I also write some for the Artemis Fowl fandom because by golly somebody is going to keep the Holly Short/Trouble Kelp tag alive!

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Promise - The only in-universe John/Cortana ship that I've ever written.

Serenity - A Halo/Firefly crossover in which Blue Team are made into space cowboys and I love it.

Halo: Homecoming (formerly titled Welcome Home) - My most bestest creation. The first actual story I ever wrote to completion.

Twenty-ish Days - A series of Halo one-shots as a summer follow up to my other story, Twelve Days (which was a series of one-shots counting down the twelve days of Christmas)

Take Care of Each Other - Another entry on the list of "Why This Dude Should Not Be Allowed To Name Things." Anyhow, it's - you guessed it - a series of one-shots. This time they are all focused on the Fred-104/Kelly-087 ship because I have shipped those two since I first found the Halo novels in middle school and I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I let that tag slip quietly into that good night.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Comments are an uncomfortably large portion of my self-esteem, particularly as a writer of dimestore trash fics. I definitely respond to comments, because I'm desperate to keep people commenting.

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I angle heavily toward the bright-and-happy side of things. Personally think that there's too much angst in the world without me adding to it.

Having said that, the last chapter of Twenty-ish Days dealt with some angst and some character death that I won't spoil here on the off-chance that someone may read this and feel inspired to go find out for themselves. Other than that... maybe Mister Zhordee? It's a Halo-fied retelling of the song Mr Shorty by Marty Robbins, which has a decent touch of angst to it I suppose.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Again, I lean toward the happy endings naturally so this is kind of a tough one. In general though, I'd say my dumb college AU series The University of Northern South Carolina because every one of those has been happy.

Do you get hate on fics?

Not really. On some of the stuff I still bother to cross-post to FFN I have gotten some weird comments from people who didn't understand the universe I was building in my Halo/Firefly crossover, but other than that anyone who's bothered to leave a comment has been very pleasant.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nope. I like to keep that level of intimacy just between my wife and me.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Serenity, the Halo/Firefly crossover I've been slowly chipping away at for some time now. I'm also (spoilers?) kicking around an idea of a DnD crossover just for the fun of it all.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

No. I did get a meme stolen once though.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nuh uh.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I co-wrote Halo Fractured Glass: Fireteam Cutlass with a friend of mine. We made a Spartan pirate crew. A plentitude of both kicks and giggles were had.

What's your all-time favorite ship?

Fred/Kelly probably. Or Han/Leia. Or Fred/Daphne. Man, I don't know. I just love love I guess.

What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

One time, for no reason at all, I looked up Harry Potter fanfiction. I have avoided it forever because I actually like the established relationships in the universe and detest anything that implies a romantic connection between Hermione and Draco, so it's a pretty clear no-fly zone for me. However, during this one occurrence I somehow stumbled upon a ship of Katie Bell and Oliver Wood, read all of the stories with that tag, and then wrote ~70% of a one-shot of my own for the pair. Will most likely never finish it, because I really don't have much reason to do so.

What are your writing strengths?

I've been told (by kpmh2001, one of my all-time favorite authors and people) that I have somehow harnessed a talent in writing cute fluffy stories. Personally I like to think that I'm good at writing action sequences, but I have no outside information to corroborate that.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Keeping a coherent plot, and keeping my focus for more than a single chapter at a time. I'm absolute garbage at it.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I speak fluent Portuguese (lived in Brazil for two years in my late teens/early 20s) so I'm confident with that. I can also understand Spanish, but every time I try to speak or write it still comes out in Portuguese so I end up relying pretty heavily on Google to fix my errors there.

First fandom you wrote for?

I think I have at least a dozen notebooks with Clone Wars fanfiction strewn throughout my parents' house. I'm a Star Wars man at heart, even though I don't ever write anything in that universe.

Favorite fic you've ever written?

Already said it, but Halo: Homecoming takes this spot again. It probably doesn't hold up as well as I like to think it does, but being my first ever success at writing an actual story with plot and motivation and a concrete ending has cemented it in my personal hall of fame.

BOOK Crossover Hiccup and Camicazi – The Pirate and the PRINCE

Camicazi is a character from the book-series. She is the heir to the Bog Burglars, an all-female viking tribe, and one of Hiccupp best friends. She is straightforward and normally looks down on males, but she considers Hiccup "not bad, for a boy".

AvannaK included her in the movie universe and wrote this AU with Alivia as a Hiccami child.

The song is “I am a Pirate, you are a Princess” by Nightcore, which I edited. I changed princess to prince because as heir Hiccup is part of the Viking “royalty” and Camicazi the Burglar is a Pirate. Near the end I switched the lyrics: “we have a good thing, she is a bad thing” becomes “we have a bad thing, she is a good thing” and refers to Camicazis’ guilt towards Astrid, as Hiccup still loves her and Astrid is a stable relationship and a good wife to him, which she could never be.

 PLOT:

Camicazi, Hiccups Bog Burglar childhood friend, is always there for him and cheers him up in her own way after his fight and break-up with Astrid. Over the years they stay friends and travel the world, where they plunder and find treasures, which are given to their tribes.

But one night everything changes: Camicazi is in desperate need of an heir and after some time she manages to convince Hiccup to “cross the line” before his marriage to Astrid, who he still loves. Hiccup tells Astrid of Camicazi`s condition and they still get married a few months later because the wedding is already arranged.

 Camicazi watches the wedding from a distance and remembers the night she shared with Hiccup. Their parents – Stoik and Bertha don’t approve their unusual relationship. They are the “blacktop calling for you“. Camicazi realizes that it is time to let go and the two of them decided to stay friends.

After her daughter Alivia is born, Hiccup visits them and brings her a golden crown, as a sign of her royal heritage and as a reminder of the treasures he and Camicazi used to collect.

As she is older Alivia also visits Berk and her half-brothers Garik, Roan and Lund and hunts treasures with her father and Toothless.

Fandoms:

Leif & Thorn (Webcomic)

Characters: Leif, Thorn

Leif is a gardener in thrall to a mysterious debt, serving his native Sønheim at a foreign embassy. Thorn is a Knight of Ceannis who got severely burned while dragonslaying, and was rewarded with a cushy job guarding the embassy gates. Thorn doesn’t speak Leif’s language too well at first — but as they get to know each other, he finds a lot of reasons to learn.

Ongoing fantasy dramedy, with a cross-cultural romance and a great ensemble cast. (Read it here.) Leif/Thorn is canon, over a slow-burn arc that took about 5 years real-world time. They still have ongoing struggles around Leif’s control microchip, and Thorn’s effort to handle the unwanted power it gives him. Leif/Thorn/Kale is not canon yet, but the OT3 shipteasing is strong.

The prompts are Leif/Thorn-centric but I will take fic about other characters too. Other ships on the side are fine, canon or non-canon, as long as you don’t break up the main couple.

Prompts:

Canon-divergence AU where Thorn joined the Secret Order of Monster Hunters, successfully assassinated the vampires in that one early storyline, and decided to rescue/steal Leif as a bonus. What? He was in the area anyway, he might as well.

The Doctrine of Labyrinths is a series of fantasy novels by Sarah Monette. It is set in the secondary world of Meduse and tells the story of the adventures of the wizard Felix Harrowgate and his half-brother, former assassin Mildmay the Fox.

Lush fantasy melodrama full of codependence and great hurt/comfort. I have gotten Felix/Mildmay fic before and will keep prompting more of it until the end of time (or until a TV adaptation turns this into a megafandom, whichever comes first). Gen about them is also welcome.

Prompts:

Sci-fi/cyberpunk AU. Make the hocuses into hackers, the magical curses into corrupted cybernetics, the petty thieves into data pirates. Could be the alternate version of a canon event, or a whole new SF-themed plot twist.

Missing scene from Felix and Mildmay’s journey across the continent in book 1, something where Felix has a bad turn and Mildmay successfully calms him down. Just lean all the way into the h/c in their weird-but-deep sibling bond.

Guilty frantic brothercest. (During a time in canon when they’re both mentally capable of consenting.) Especially if it’s already an ongoing situation when the story starts, so it’s not a story about how they fell into it, but about how they can’t seem to get out.

Follows the personally close Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdóttir as they are given the chance to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest.�� Ferrell, who co-wrote the script, wisely realises that this institution is beyond parody and is simply content to pay homage.

Bizarre, charming, joyful, magical (sometimes literally) tribute to Eurovision. Lars has the lifelong ambition to represent Iceland at the contest. Sigrit has the actual talent. A dozen real-world Eurovision winners have cameos. The elves in the hills have their backs.

Shipping-wise, basically I want Sigrit to be happy. For Sigrit/Lars, lean into the parts of his character that enable him to be a good boyfriend. For Sigrit/not-Lars, either give them a non-traumatic breakup, or make an AU where they were just friends the whole time.

The elves are back! This time, they need Sigrit’s and/or Lars’s help! You can pull the worldbuilding from real Icelandic folklore or make it up from scratch, I will be happy either way.

Instead of a song contest, the characters are thrown into a fighting-for-your-life contest. So much has happened in Namor Fandom this year with Namor & Talokan’s debut appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever! We welcome all new fans to the fandom and hope you can join in this year’s Namor Week on April 24 - 30!

The Themes

Day 1 - Talokan / Atlantis Will your work be set in the fantastical Talokan or the mystical Atlantis? Maybe have a crossover? Create to your hearts content and expand these worlds!

Day 2 - Mother / Memories Princess Fen is Namor’s mother and a very important figure in his life! Showcase a work that involves Fen or choose your other option and focus on a Memory. You can also focus on mothers or memories of other Talokan/Atlantean characters such as Namora, or Attuma, etc.

Fate/Ninjago: A holy grail war featuring all your favorite Ninjago characters! (Or at least weird reincarnated substitutes of some of them.) Cross over with the Fate series.*

Grandpa Djinn: Darla was pregnant before Nadakhan's banishment and was Kai and Nya's great something grandmother. Nadakhan escaped the tea pot early and is delighted to take in his great something grandkids.

Uncle Krux: Multiple versions. Krux takes Kai and Nya in instead of leaving them to fend for themselves and either raises them to be evil, or slowly gives up on the evil plan. Alternatively, he gives up on the evil plan before he ever kidnapped Ray and Maya.

Brainwashed Kai (Mod Ivy's Version): Instead of just stealing Kai’s element, Aspheera decides to take him as well, brainwashing him into being her decorative pet

Miraculous au: Lloyd accidentally gets stuck in the Miraculous Ladybug universe, the rest of the ninja soon follow. Hawkmoth is his usual jerk, the ninja use some miraculous and just generally deal with the chaos all while they figure out how to get home.

Monkie Kid crossover: the ninja adopt a child from another realm when he randomly gets spit out by a portal directly in their front yard.*

Amnesicpirate!Jay au/ Orpheus!Jay: Jay gets kidnapped by Nadakhan and has his memories stolen. Jay is told that he’s always lived on the Misfortune’s Keep and that his name is Orpheus. The ninja recognize him, he doesn’t know who they are or why they keep calling him “J”.

Bunker au/ Bunker!Kai: Movie!Kai finds an abandoned super villain lair under his house and decides to use it as his own personal secret clubhouse. Show!Kai ends up in the Movie universe and Movie!Kai puts him in the super villain bunker and keeps him a secret from everybody while Show!Kai figures out how to get home.

Cryptid Jay Aus: Jay is a Cryptid that endlessly builds towers that the ninja need to stop. 3 versions, Gay, Child* and Greiving.

Amongus!au: The ninja are aboard a spaceship, and everything is going fine. Until they realize there is an imposter on the ship, planning to kill everyone.*

Kai instead au: In the pilot, Kai gets taken by the skullkin instead of Nya. Now she has to go find her brother. Nya gets help from three students who are also trying to stop the skulkin, they also want some weapons that she couldn’t care less about.*

DHMIS!au: The ninja as the Dhmis characters. Things go about as well as expected.*

Animaniacs au: The Warners mess with a machine of the Brains, meant for Brain to use the help of alternate universe versions of himself. This causes the three Warners to to be teleported to this weird place called “ninjago”, like what a stupid name!*

Hadestown au: It’s the Hadestown musical. Garmadon is Persephone, Misako is Hades. (Plasma au)*

Wrong place wrong timeline: The ninja keep seeing the apparition of a strange person desperately trying to get to them, disappearing right before they get to them. When trying to learn more about what’s going on, they learn that Garmadon is a little more ruthless than they thought.*

Brainwashed Kai au/ Brainwashed!Kai: Instead of just stealing Kai’s element, Aspheera decides to take him as well, brainwashing him into being her servant.

Ghost of Time AU/ Ghost of time: Kai dies fighting Krux and Acronix in the timestream, causing him to be removed from time. Small evidence remains of him existing like a blurry video of his final moment. Kai’s ghost is outside of time and has virtually no memories. The ninja think he’s important, but can’t figure it out, plus there are some holes in their own memories where things don’t make sense. 

Duolingo Lloyd: Lloyd is the duolingo bird (with a gun) and terrorizes Kai in his nightmares. (and I guess now Misako has an alter ego named Rosetta Stone that’s the same thing)

Summary: Think: Newsies characters, (grittier) Treasure Planet aesthetic, Star Wars planet-hopping, and an embarrassing amount of plot from the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything movie. Jack, Race, and Elmer are plucked out of their ordinary lives and thrust into a whole new world as unlikely heroes when Princess Katherine is captured by a wicked pirate. What you need to know going into this story:

This fic is a Star Wars AU in that it is (to an extent) set in the Star Wars universe. This is just because I’m too lazy to world-build an entire universe for a single fic, but I already have a lot of energy put into creating my own pieces of Star Wars headcanons, OCs, and etc. that I’ve never gotten around to writing into anything, so I decided to adopt them for this fic. So while Yo Ho, Hero! takes place within the “universe” of Star Wars, it has little to nothing to do with the events of the films/shows/etc. I just wanted to use the planets/species/terminology/etc. of Star Wars instead of putting that much thought into it because I have enough else to do and all I want to do is write, not world-build, dammit.

Despite it sort-of-technically-kind-of-actually being a Star Wars AU, there are no Jedi. Just mages. No force, just good, old-fashioned magic.

In addition to planets/species/terminology/etc. from Star Wars, you may recognize some themes from other media. Yes, the “sailing ship in space” aesthetic is straight from Treasure Planet. It’s also likely that mentions of a planet called “Hyrule” will come up, along with Hylian and Rito species from it. Yes, this is a direct reference to Legend of Zelda, because at one point I was working on a LoZ/Star Wars crossover fic that never got written but did get absorbed into this story apparently. It’s also because I’m too lazy to come up with anything original.

There will be a few OCs who make minor appearances in this fic. Aleesha is one of my first-ever OCs (created when I was literally about 11-12) and has never found her way into an actual written story (despite me having PLANNED several stories about/concerning her) so I’m super excited to use her here!!! Jocasta is my D&D character who I love despite her being an actual disaster. I made a joke about how she should be in this fic cos she’s a pirate then had a galaxy brain moment and actually wrote her into it.

Pretty much any ship they encounter will be named after either a Legend of Zelda game or some other piece of popular media (my other primary source is Twilight book/movie names for some reason don’t @ me I’m unoriginal) so uhhh don’t be surprised by that. I am SO bad at coming up with names for places/things. People? Fine. I can do that. Places/ships/things/etc? Not a chance. (You may think I’m joking here, but you won’t think that when you read about a spaceship named Breath of the Wild or Midnight Sun, because those are both things that I’ve written and that may appear in this story.)

{Starter for @limblcss for the Crossed Universes/Pirate Au Crossover}

Ramon had been accepted amongst the crew very quickly. He would join Grute and co during their bar crawls in various ports, and he had been learning about weapons combat from his brother. He was able to wield a sword as good as any swashbuckler, and he even learned how to use a bow. Minnie had asked him questions about color choices for an outfit she was working on for him, and would take measurements. He was gifted a pirate outfit of his own. Finnegan gifted Ramon a knife to use, be it as a tool or a weapon. He would also share the captain's quarters with his wife and children.

Tily and Theo both seem to manage well. They are able to help Grute with certain chores and tasks, and Lumlight's light could pierce through the thickest fog and her directions made sure they never steered off course. Theo always managed to alert someone when he was starting to go into hibernation mode, be it cuddling close to his dad to seek his warmth, or Grute carrying him into the captains quarters to get some warmth. The pirate life wasn't easy, but it was fun, at least the kids and Rayman seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Murfy had made contact with them via a device Raymona has in the captain's quarters, alerting them on a slave that needs their help back in Port Shanghai. Raymona would begin the journey back while Grute began to instruct Ramon on what he needs to do. They were both bodyguards for the captain. They needed to watch her back, and make sure no one goes near the coffer of coins and jewels unless permitted. The biggest warning Grute gave Ramon was urging him not to draw a weapon on the admiral. They could shout at each other all they wanted, but as soon as weapons are drawn the crew would be in danger and that included the captain.

The flying ship would dock in the port. Ramon was back in Port Shanghai but not as a slave this time. Raymona took a moment to give her husband a hug and a kiss before she put her concealing disguise on with the voice changing magic. Grute hoisted the coffer into his hold and followed Ramon and The Captain to the marketplace. Many of the people began to gossip and whisper about Ramon, a few of the women even began to look at him with love-struck eyes.

The Admiral Razorbeard approached, looking over to Ramon and giving a chuckle.

"You appear to be adjusting to your new life very well! You have the makings of a true pirate. I can see it on your face. Now, shall we talk business? I imagine you're not here just for friendly chit-chat."

Okay, so this startled a laugh out of me when I first saw it, and I have been musing possibilities for this crossover all day.  There is literally so much I could do with this, depending on how AU I want to go (ideas have ranged from IR being a neutral org in OP, to Flevance being a thing in TAG, to ‘let’s just go straight up medieval AU’) but - for now at least, I think I’m gonna stick with short and mostly-simple.

And some good old universe-collision because why not.  Also, as a little warning to Thunderfam readers, One Piece characters, including Law, have what is (very) basically personalised superpowers, and Law’s are based in surgery.  This’ll be Scott’s PoV, so you can be confused about it along with him :D

I honestly never thought I’d be crossing over these two fandoms, but here we are.  I know 99% of my followers don’t know both fandoms, but I hope you still enjoy it!

Drabble Challenge: 1-150 (feel free to specify a fandom/character)

Scott was pretty sure he was dead.  There were some things the human body just couldn’t survive, and he could distinctly see his leg - yes, that was definitely his leg - floating in the air, covered in blood and in no way attached to his body.

Speaking of his body... that was his body, over there.  Also covered in blood, and diced up into what looked rather like neat cubes.  Weirdly, there didn’t seem to be anywhere near enough blood for that, especially the neck.  In fact, the neck didn’t seem to have any blood on it at all.

He blinked.

And then blinked again, because what?  If he was dead - and he had to be, after that point-blank explosion and now his body floating in pieces across the air - he shouldn’t be able to blink, should he?  Dead people’s eyelids didn’t move.

It also... didn’t hurt.  Which was a point towards him being dead, because he was fairly sure being in pieces was supposed to hurt.  At least his neck.

“He’s awake, Captain!”  The voice came from somewhere behind him.  Scott tried to turn his head to look, but apparently being just a floating head stopped that from being an option.

“Doesn’t matter,” a second voice drawled.  “I’m almost done.”

Done?  Done with what?  Was this an afterlife, because if so Scott wasn’t sure he liked it.

His other leg sailed up to join his hips, and Scott blinked again because they just merged together seamlessly.  The urge to kick out crept up on him, and he followed through with it.

His leg moved.

What?

“Hold still,” the second voice ordered.  A man came into view - if Scott had to guess, he’d put them at about the same height, and probably similar age, too - but that was about where the similarities ended.  A messy shock of black hair that clearly hadn’t been brushed for days, sharp golden eyes - actual gold, were they contacts? - and a similarly unkempt goatee gave off the instinctive urge to not trust this man.

The golden earrings - two small hoops per ear - and flashes of black ink on the exposed skin of his arms and collarbones did nothing to pacify the urge.  He looked like he wouldn’t be out of place in those old pirate films.

Must be a coincidence.  Just an aesthetic.  Pirates had stopped existing in that sense a long time ago.

His arms floated towards his torso, and just as his leg before them, melded seamlessly back together.  His final leg followed suit, and then it was just his head that remained separate.

A palm pressed against his chest - and now he was concentrating, he could feel that - and then-

“Mes.”

Pain.  A sharp jolt right over his heart and right now Scott had no idea if he was dead or just in a very vivid nightmare but some sort of squishy cube burst out the front of his chest and was that his heart?

“I saved your life,” the man said.  The hand now cradling the gelatinous lump that seemed to contain a living, beating heart had more tattoos.  A letter on each finger - H, T, A, E.  He couldn’t see the thumb from that angle. He didn’t need to.

DEATH.

Grim Reaper felt like a more appropriate assumption than pirate right now.

The index finger of the other hand pointed straight at his head, then flicked towards his body.  Scott’s sight blurred, and he got the distinct idea that he was moving, and then he was sitting up, fully intact and-

Well, mostly intact.  His arm - bandaged, uniform still stained with blood, and his mind briefly flashed to the explosion he hadn’t got away from in time - moved and his hand found a hole in his chest.

“So answer my questions,” the man continued, sitting down on a chair opposite him - he was sat on a bed, Scott realised.  A bed in what looked like some sort of infirmary.  “Who do you work for?”  A blue tint in his vision Scott hadn’t even registered vanished, and at the same time an awareness of dulled but present pain returned.

There was a grinning face on the chest of the man’s clothes.  Simple, but with a grin that was anything but reassuring and spokes sticking out of it that made the whole thing look like a grinning virus symbol.  A man next to him - ginger hair, hat hiding his eyes - wore the same symbol in miniature on the left breast of his off-white uniform.  It wasn’t a familiar one.

“Who are you?” he demanded, finding his voice and somehow surprised when it came out raspy.

The calculating look that slid onto the man’s face didn’t look friendly.  Not in the least.

“You don’t recognise me?”  Scott wracked his brain, but no, he definitely didn’t recognise the man - or whatever technology he’d just used to reassemble him like a jigsaw and then take his heart out.  “Trafalgar Law.”

“You know,” the ginger interjected, before Scott could react, his own face twisted into a smug grin.  “The Surgeon of Death.”

+Jikook Fairy-tale Crossover+

AU where Jeongguk, who is fulfilling the role of the current Peter Pan and leader of The Lost Boys, gets a visit from two of the Lost Boys while patrolling near Mermaid Bay. The boys look terrified while informing of the rumors going around Neverland of children going missing and who's culprit is known only as The Pied Piper.  

Jeongguk wastes no time and flies over Neverland in search of this Pied Piper character, even to the point of making a bargain with one of the Pirates for clues.

"Follow the sound of the pipe." One of them tells him. "Just close your eyes, tune your ears and you will find him."

Taking this advice Jeongguk sets out once more when a haunting melody coming from the forest attracts his attention. The deeper he immerses himself within the forest the louder the song plays and at the very end, expecting to find someone as fowl looking as the pirates, but instead comes across a boy with silver hair, that can’t possibly be more than two years older than him, playing a large pipe he’s never seen before. Jeongguk confronts him and asks about the other missing children.

But the Piper only smiles as he twirls the instrument with one hand and tells him that "--they were lost and needed help finding their way back.”

“Back? Back to where?”

“Home.” The boy responds. “To the real world, the one outside of Neverland where they belong. Where YOU belong as well.”

Jeongguk is furious and argues that their only real home is Neverland and demands that the Piper return them, to which he refuses and Jeongguk challenges him to a duel by materializing the feather on his hat into a large sword.

The Piper accepts the challenge and Jeongguk watches as the pipe in his hands turns into a large scythe with a burst of black feathers.

They battled it out on the forest grounds up until the long hours in the night, but in the end Jeongguk is defeated during a moment of distraction. As he looks up at his rival, the Piper turns the scythe back to its original form and begins to play the same tune from before. Jeongguk tries to fight it and stay awake but sleep wins him over.

The last thing he remembers is the Piper’s voice telling him they are destined to meet again someday.

Many years later in Busan, South Korea, Jeon Jungkook, 24, storms through yet another chaotic morning rush at Café Decalcomania, when his colleague announces another 4 more orders of iced coffee. He sighs tiredly but gets to work on them when he hears someone humming near the pick-up counter. It’s not unusual for customers to speak or randomly sing as they wait for their orders but something about the tune and the voice sound eerily familiar. And he risks a quick glance at the name of the order he’s currently working on.

“Park ...Jimin?”

“Oh, that’s me!” A voice chirps and when Jungkook looks up his breath is caught when he comes face to face with a handsome young man with silver colored hair.

“I’m Park Jimin.”

The two lock eyes and remain this way for a few seconds before Jimin shyly asks about his order, turning Jungkook into a stuttering mess while handing the drinks over. Jimin giggles once again and was just about to leave when Jungkook asks: “You look familiar... have we met before?”

To this Jimin only throws him a quickly glance over his shoulder towards Jungkook.

“Who knows, maybe the universe moved for us so we could meet.” He says and then smiles until his eyes turn into crescents. “After all, nothing is a coincidence.”

After a quick “see you later”, Jimin puts on his sunglasses as he continues to hum that familiar yet eerie tune on his way out the door.

The song continues to echo in Jungkook’s ears and heart even as more customers walk in and out of the café throughout the day and at some point he wonders if Jimin will come by tomorrow again.

I’ve had this cross over in my head since last night and had to get it out somehow. lol  Hope you liked it.

Leif & Thorn (Webcomic)

Characters: Leif, Thorn

Leif is a gardener in thrall to a mysterious debt, serving his native Sønheim at a foreign embassy. Thorn is a Knight of Ceannis who got severely burned while dragonslaying, and was rewarded with a cushy job guarding the embassy gates. Thorn doesn’t speak Leif’s language too well at first — but as they get to know each other, he finds a lot of reasons to learn.

Ongoing fantasy dramedy, with a cross-cultural romance and a great ensemble cast. (Read it here.) Leif/Thorn is canon, over a slow-burn arc that took about 5 years real-world time. They still have ongoing struggles around Leif’s control microchip, and Thorn’s effort to handle the unwanted power it gives him. Leif/Thorn/Kale is not canon yet, but the OT3 shipteasing is strong, so maybe in 5 more years?

The prompts are Leif/Thorn-centric but I will take fic about other characters too. Other ships on the side are fine, canon or non-canon, as long as you don’t break up the main couple.

Canon-divergence AU where Thorn joined the Secret Order of Monster Hunters, successfully assassinated the vampires in that one early storyline, and decided to rescue/steal Leif as a bonus. What? He was in the area anyway, he might as well.

Leif/Thorn where Leif still has the microchip, but Kale has his powers and facilitates a psychic link between them, so Thorn can’t possibly miss if he tries something Leif doesn’t like. Can be established Leif/Thorn/Kale or “whoops this turned into our first threesome.”

Holiday fic where Leif and Thorn share their traditions with each other. Warmth and fluffiness a plus.

Doctrine of Labyrinths - Sarah Monette

Characters: Felix, Mildmay

The Doctrine of Labyrinths is a series of fantasy novels by Sarah Monette. It is set in the secondary world of Meduse and tells the story of the adventures of the wizard Felix Harrowgate and his half-brother, former assassin Mildmay the Fox.

Lush fantasy melodrama full of codependence and great hurt/comfort. I have gotten Felix/Mildmay fic before and will keep prompting more of it until the end of time (or until a TV adaptation turns this into a megafandom, whichever comes first). Gen about them is also welcome.

Prompts:

Sci-fi/cyberpunk AU. Make the hocuses into hackers, the magical curses into corrupted cybernetics, the petty thieves into data pirates. Could be the alternate version of a canon event, or a whole new SF-themed plot twist.

Missing scene from Felix and Mildmay’s journey across the continent in book 1, something where Felix has a bad turn and Mildmay successfully calms him down. Just lean all the way into the h/c in their weird-but-deep sibling bond.

Guilty frantic brothercest. (During a time in canon when they’re both mentally capable of consenting.) Especially if it’s already an ongoing situation when the story starts, so it’s not a story about how they fell into it, but about how they can’t seem to get out.

If you are up for writing crossovers: it’s a crime that there are no Labyrinth crossovers yet. How would Felix and Mildmay face off against the Goblin King?

The Good Place (TV)

Characters: Tahani Al-Jamil

The series focuses on Eleanor Shellstrop, a woman who wakes up in the afterlife and is introduced by Michael to “The Good Place”, a highly selective Heaven-like utopia he designed, as a reward for her righteous life. She realizes that she was sent there by mistake and must hide her morally imperfect behavior and try to become a better, more ethical person.

Complete TV fantasy sitcom. Hard to summarize, because it dumps the whole premise on its head and starts doing something new about twice a season. I don’t ship Tahani with any of the male characters (or Janet), but would love either gen or f/f.

Prompts:

AU where Tahani was the one who was “mixed up” with a different “Tahani Al-Jamil”. Where is she placed instead of a creepy clown house? How does she cope? How does Vicky (or whoever) craft the role of her most torturously-unsuitable soulmate?

Kidfic about the terrible family dynamics in Tahani’s childhood. Especially things that her POV frames as happy, or fine, or at least justified…but the reader can tell how much it’s not.

Friendship fic with Eleanor and Tahani during their time on Earth. They couldn’t possibly know each other for a whole year without bonding.
