What is Nightcrawler Week?

Nightcrawler Week is a Marvel Fandom Event created by Nightcrawler Fans for Nightcrawler Fans, with fanworks featuring Kurt Wagner, aka Nightcrawler.

I want to be creator, how do I join?

No sign ups, no checks, just create whatever you feel like creating! Choose one or all of the prompts. Please read and follow all rules to be a part of this event.

What type of fanworks are accepted?

All types of fanwork are accepted; light, dark, fluff, angst, romantic or platonic, etc. please be sure to tag properly. Fanworks include: Fanfiction, Fanart, Podcasts, Edits, Playlists, Podfics, Moodboards, Aesthetics, Gifs, etc. You may commission work to be submitted but it must be created for this event, so no reposting an older work for this. Due to Tumblr's restrictions we cannot reblog anything that is explicitly N S F W, but we can reblog links to N S F W creations that are hosted on other sites.

What media is accepted?

Any and all media that features Kurt Wagner this includes; Comics, Animation, Movies, and Video Games.

Do I have to create to participate?

Not necessarily, while creating is highly encouraged, we also value the fans who wish to participate in the event by sharing, reblogging, commenting, and supporting Creators works!

When does Nightcrawler Week open?

Nightcrawler Week opens on November 11th, Kurt's Birthday! The week closes on November 17th. During this time Mods will be checking the #nightcrawlerweek tag to reblog creations to this blog. So don't forget to tag with #nightcrawlerweek or @amazing-nightcrawler so we can see your posts! You can also add to our Ao3 collection.

RULES

1. No Racism. Racism in any form will not be tolerated nor accepted. Kurt was raised in a Romani Family, please be mindful and respectful about their culture.

2. No Pedo, Incest, Pseudo Incest fanworks (such as Amanda/Kurt where they are raised as adopted siblings or Rogue/Kurt.) (However X-Men Evolution Amanda/Kurt is accepted as a ship pairing.)

3. Absolutely NO AI generated fanworks, including art or writing.

4. No Nightcrawler x Reader, Character Imagines, Kinships, Selfship x Nightcrawler. (OC x Nightcrawler ships are welcome!)

5. Kurt is not a furry, or an alien/demon/catboy, he is a Human Mutant, please be mindful to not dehumanize Kurt.

6. Don't like? Don't Read! You, the fan, are responsible for your comfort in fandom. If there is something that upsets you then please take the steps necessary to remove yourself from that situation.

7. Tag your triggers! Please remember to properly tag your work!

NAMOR KILLED QUEEN RAMONDA ON PURPOSE.

HE LOOKED HER IN THE FACE AND THREW WATER BOMBS, MORE THAN ONE, PREMEDITATED BECAUSE HE WENT BACK FOR THE WATER BOMBS. NOT VOLUNTARY? HE COULD HAVE VOLUNTARILY NOT THROWN THE WATER BOMBS.

HE WASN’T AIMING TO THE SIDE FOR RIRI, HE WAS AIMING FOR RAMONDA. HE KNEW SHE WOULD DROWN AND IF SHE DIDN’T THEN HE STAYED BEHIND TO MAKE SURE SHE WAS DEAD. WE DON’T KNOW HOW MANY BUT THERE WERE MINUTES BETWEEN RAMONDA SAVING RIRI AND SHURI ARRIVING, HE COULD HAVE HELPED IF HE WANTED BUT INSTEAD HE WATCHED. THAT’S DELIBERATE AS FUCK. AND ITS ONLY WHEN THEY COULDN’T REVIVE HER DID HE LEAVE.

I honestly do NOT give a single fuck about shipping or character discourse but how in the fucking hell are people still denying this? I am a HUGE Namor fan and have been for YEARS and I have defended his character countless times. Yet I am not so blinded by my love for Namor to treat Queen Ramonda in the callous way most of Fandom has been treating her and taking away any accountability Namor has for his actions. Even to state “he didn’t do it on purpose” is taking away Namor’s agency.

Like no. Fuck that. Whether it was his original intention or not as stated by the actor doesn’t mean Namor as the events shown in the movie didn’t make a CONSCIOUS CHOICE TO SET INTO MOTION THE EVENT THAT TOOK HER LIFE. Yeah she COULD have saved herself if she hadn’t gone back for Riri, but are y’all seriously telling me Namor knew that? No.

Queen Ramonda died by Namor’s hand and THAT is a fact.

I ship Namor and Shuri too but you can't say that Namor didn't kill Ramonda. He did. He even Saw Shuri crying and coldly told her "you're Queen now". He didn't care about her death

Well if I may say so. The proof, I will do it again :

Namor did not kill Queen Ramonda on purpose.

I said I didn't justify it and I did. Simply, I just see the situation objectively / as a whole. Killing the queen was not Namor's primary goal.

If the floor hadn't been glass (which Namor didn't know), the queen probably wouldn't have died.

If the queen hadn't chosen to save the scientist, she wouldn't have died either.

Several factors, beyond Namor's primary action, contributed to the queen's death.

The actor himself has already said that it was not Namor's original intention to kill the queen.

It's just facts.

I don't care if you accept them or not.

Let's be clear, you have the right to resent Namor for his action, which I do too.

However, that is not a reason to deliberately ignore fairly obvious facts, even more to allow oneself to say to others that : "No, you cannot say that he did not do that, because he did it."

I said that Namor didn't kill the queen intentionally and directly, which is true. Is he still responsible for his death ? In part, yes. On the other hand, was it premeditated and or voluntary ? No.

Also, Namor is an immortal god, who was literally full of rage because members of his people, (the equivalent of his children might say) whom he has always placed above all for centuries, were killed by an envoy from the queen. As a result, rather logical that he isn't more compassionate than that in the moment when he realizes she's dead.

Even if once again, it was horrible to appear cold and to say such words to Shuri, it was not fundamentally surprising at that time with the context / what happened before.

And that's not valid evidence either to say that Namor intentionally killed Queen Ramonda.

It's crazy though. I literally just made a post that talks about the subject in a clear way, and they still come in the following minutes to tell me that no, I'm wrong, Namor deliberately killed the queen.

What is your favorite storyline involving Nightcrawler in the comics?

And if you haven't read the comics, which animated series has your favorite version of Nightcrawler?

Anytime I see Nightcrawler in comic my brain just goes "yay!" so it's hard to narrow down a comic for me, but I enjoyed the 2014 Nightcrawler series because of the art, and the fact that Kurt was taking on a teacher role/mentor role there. As for which adaptation, Wolverine & the X-Men's Nightcrawler is THE Nightcrawler for me. I adore him. He's perfect. - Imp

To me, my favorite comic is The Nightcrawler 1985 mini because it is the OG! And it’s fun, whimsical and we get to see Kurt as the true swashbuckling hero he is for the first time. Regarding the animated series, WATXM Nightcrawler is my favorite, like Imp’s. - Bothsidesofaquestion

Welcome to Namor Week 2023! The 4th Annual Fandom Event for Namor Nation!

So much has happened in Namor Fandom this year with Namor & Talokan’s debut appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever! We welcome all new fans to the fandom and hope you can join in this year’s Namor Week on April 24 - 30!

The Themes

Day 1 - Talokan / Atlantis Will your work be set in the fantastical Talokan or the mystical Atlantis? Maybe have a crossover? Create to your hearts content and expand these worlds!

Day 2 - Mother / Memories Princess Fen is Namor’s mother and a very important figure in his life! Showcase a work that involves Fen or choose your other option and focus on a Memory. You can also focus on mothers or memories of other Talokan/Atlantean characters such as Namora, or Attuma, etc.

Day 3 - Whump / Fluff  Are you here for the most heart wrenching Whump? Or are you yearning for some Fluff? Any topic goes for this theme so long as it incorporates Whump or Fluff!

Day 4 - Alternate Universe  What if Namor was a Pirate? What would happen if Namora was Queen? What if Attuma finds the love of his life? What if? and AU’s are the lifeblood of transformative fanwork and we are ready for your ideas! Choose a Canon AU or make up your own! 

Day 5 - Mercy / Revenge  Every choice has a consequence so what will yours be? To have Mercy for those who have wronged you or to take revenge on your enemies? Perhaps the best Revenge is Mercy. Create a work that centers around these prompts!

Day 6 - Sirens / Mythology Sirens lure their victims to their doom with their haunting songs. Mythology and Sirens play a huge part in folk stories around the world, so create your own work that focuses on the idea of Sirens or choose another aspect of Mythology to work with!

Day 7 - Free Choice Anything goes! Maybe pick a topic you have a lot of passion for, or if you missed a day then share it now! It’s fan’s choice of what to create and we look forward to all you have to offer!

I just created the 60th Anniversary thread for Quicksilver, sorry Anon I have not been very active in the CBR forum these past years and haven't run a thread in a while. I would have thought someone else created it since there is a 60th Wanda thread as well as a House of M thread available. Either way we can try to fill the thread with all we love about Quicksilver. Thanks for bringing the lack of one to my attention because our speedy man deserves better!

Hi so do you happen to know when Luna maximoff is going to make her next appearance because I really love her character but she is almost never in the comic with dad like Billy and tommy are in the comics more than her like 🙄 I feel like does not realize that she is part of the family too also sorry for ranting but yeah

We all love Luna here, and while we try to keep track with upcoming appearances for the Magnet Family so far we don't have any confirmation of upcoming Luna appearances though it could be a possibility that she appears in the upcoming Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver series!

Marvel writers often ignore Luna but Steve Orlando is writing the series and he did feature her before (in the Scarlet Witch series) and he's been quoted on twitter saying that if he had more time he would have loved to write more Pietro, Crystal, Luna.

Ngl it's a bit sad to go into the Namor tags lately bc all I see is ship drama and porn bots. I hope the drama dies down soon so we can get back to enjoying the characters but maybe other Namor fans can help me out by reporting the porn bots for spam? I've reported all I saw today and hope it helps clear the tags.
