Over the past few weeks I’ve become utterly enamored with Nekuyan/Crossplay Love to the point that I’ve now preordered the next volume to read physically when it comes out and have recommended it to my roommates. This manga is so good I was actively throwing pottery and not even paying attention just waiting for class to end so I could go home and read it. Everyone has to read Nekuyan this is an order it’s the law now. These bitches are so fucking transgender.

So I recently caught up to the official English release of Crossplay love: Otaku X punk and I like it a lot.

Gonna talk about some stuff I think about it below.

The premise is fun, a love square type story that focuses on shenanigans and comedy is great.

I imagine post reveal, the two of them will sometimes mention an incident that happened with the other when they were in their other mode and it will be very funny as they realize the whole web of things that happened.

I like how over the course of the story the two friend groups get closer, mirroring the protagonists.

I think Shuumei is basically a tsundere towards Hanae. It starts with Hanae being the only person he knows who can help with nerd stuff and as of currently he basically literally goes "you can come over to my house, but not because we're friends or anything". It's because he's a bit of a brocon but it's still a lot less antagonistic than they were near the start.

Also I like how the love square is necessary for the two of them to succeed in love but that's it's own whole post.

I’m so sane and normal about this series…. I bought the newest one that just came out today and ugh I’ve never followed a manga coming out this closely it’s so so good!!! If you like BL and/or GL or just gay stuff in general this series is 100% for u!!
