Im also planning on doing fairy wings for her, but I might not get those done in time

“The top is from For Love & Lemons, the pants from Romantic Store, shoes are Demonias, jacket and skirt are thrifted, and my hat is from Alondra Records in Bushwick. A really sweet lady crochets all kinds of hats and anything else you can think of there. What currently inspires my style definitely comes from Fruits magazine (just a little bit,) the fashion of the rococo era, and very fem/masc styles— I typically like mixing the two for comfortability. Here, I just threw stuff together, so I wasn’t expecting a picture to be taken!”

This thing is hard to photograph, but here she is! My corset cover, made from patterns from the 1910s, but made to work with my 1890s wardrobe.

I jumped head first into lacemaking one evening in February(!) and ended up in this project that took Four (4) months, with healthy breaks in between of course. I'm happy with the outcome and very pleased to be learning new skills, this time with Irish crochet.

Now I have to make a corset to cover!

another corset belt! i basically did almost all of this within 2 days (one of which spent mostly on trains with little else to do) and then procrastinated the lacing holes.

but i did it! if you would like to know how to make your own, tell me, and i might finally finish that instructional post. maybe

Lacey gloves! These were a quick side project while I have been busy traveling, hosting friends and stuff.

I sourced the pattern from a collection called Free Vintage Crochet (number #284). The pattern was published in 1935, however I intend to wear mine with my 1900s lingerie dress ensemble (which I made two years ago, these things get completed slowly!). They're not perfect but certainly better than my first two attempts, and they're pretty and dainty and ready to be ruined by the outdoors.
