Noir Criminal Drama In terms of background, at first, I tended to create just some indistinctive silhouettes of a clouded city in misty, rainy weather to express a feeling of unity and connection, of a “shelter” as well. But as I drew further, more and more additional details started to appear, and now it's a whole bunch of possible noir-like, criminal, or dramatic plots here! That's also one of the main things I very much enjoy about Kar Wai’s films, this kind of genre crossroads he creates in each one of his films; I watched four of them while working on the piece (of which “Chungking Express” three times in a row lol), which eventually brought me great inspiration and had the main impact on the atmosphere on the drawing.

Crime scene photos from the 2007 successtech school shooting, perpetrated by 14 year old asa coon. I got these in a FOIA I submitted. Asa was suspended for a fight 2 days prior, he then stole 3 pistols from his older brother Stephen and went to the school to shoot the people who he fought, but bumped into a student in the hallway, who then punched asa in the face. This caused Asa to just start shooting right then and there. He targeted teachers and people who bullied him before committing suicid.
