Wowowow I was tagged by the lovely @wingsofblackleather in this post 😘🖤
Rules: Name a song for each letter of your url then tag the same number of people
K - KICK BACK by Kenshi Yonezu (Chainsaw Man OP)
A - Acid Nation by Enter Shikari (oldie but goodie from like my freshman year of high school)
R - Remnants by Max Cooper & Tom Hodge (an instrumental song I listen to a lot while reading or drawing)
L - Laminated E.T. Animal by Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (DRUGS) (does anyone remember Chiodos?? This was the lead singer, Craig Owens’s other band, and honestly I liked them better! Also, I am literally just NOW realizing that the song title is a palindrome 🤦🏻 which is apparently a theme, because they have another song that’s the same way!)
Y - Yorugaakeru by Given (another anime song lol)
B - Bottomed Out by Sleeper Agent (idk this whole album is just fun and catchy)
O - OverThink by Fan Ka (Link Click season 1 ED)
Y - You and Me by Dave Matthews Band (mine & my spouse’s song! He looooves DMB which has rubbed off on me over the years)
Y - You Can Run, but We’ll Find You by Matchbook Romance (another good emo song from my middle school / high school days. Again, this whole album is *chef’s kiss*)
Y - you should see me in a crown by Billie Eilish (I just really like this song. It sounds creepy and it’s heavy on the bass which I like)
I tried to pick a smattering of songs of different genres from my music library 🫶🏻 I also gave some commentary because hey that’s what I do 😁
Tagging: @homo-homini-lupus-est-1701 @silversoulstardust @i-look-back-and-laugh @trans-gwenstacyy @strawberrycheeks-and-glasses @thelevinary @zsbrainrot @literalbuttz && anyone else who wants to join!! (I’m struggling to remember anyone else to tag lmao 😭)

Duncan
A few of the writers I really like (some I recently reviewed, like Erin A. Craig, and some I reviewed ages ago, like Rosamund Hodge) started sharing thoughts on a book called Wicked Saints, by Emily Duncan. The book received great reviews, and I trusted their endorsement, so I checked it out.
It's the first in a trilogy. At first, I had a bit of a hard time getting into the story. Duncan's version of world-building, it seems, is to basically take an existing real-life culture and just make up names. It took me a bit to get everything to make sense as I was reading. However, once I got into it, I really enjoyed it. The book was gritty, but interesting, and the premise -- a holy war -- kept me wondering which side I would've been on if I were in the story.
The plot built pretty well and had a surprise ending, so when I finished the first book, my main reaction was, "Well, huh! I did not see that coming." I was eager to read the second book and see what happened next.
I gave up after almost 200 pages (out of nearly 600). The second book was. So. Boring. It was nothing but reiterated angst and 0 plot, which was a brutal slowdown after the excitement of the first book. I did some research and apparently this trilogy has a reputation for "great start, goes down from there." What a disappointment.

Lords Vote
On: Social Fund Winter Fuel Payment Regulations 2024
Lord Palmer of Childs Hill moved that this House regrets that the Social Fund Winter Fuel Payment Regulations 2024 (SI 2024/869), laid before the House on 22 August, will remove support from many of the poorest pensioners at the same time as the energy price cap is being lifted; and calls on the Government (1) to take steps to identify those who are eligible for pension credit but do not claim it so that they can receive both benefits; (2) to support vulnerable pensioners this winter; and (3) to take action to end fuel poverty, including with an emergency home insulation programme and a windfall tax on the profits of oil and gas companies. The House divided:

Put out on cable in America and thriving on its limited release in Europe, it started to gain a cult fan-base. More so after a theatre in the Frisco Bay area started showing it and it made considerable coinage. Today it still remains more of a cult piece than anything else, which while it deserves more accolades and exposure, is still kind of nice for the fans, because it’s like we have our ...
