UNHOLY ALLIANCE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
I have never been more enraged by a sentence in my entire life.
Tumblr media
They aren't unique. At all.
They all follow the same formula of: bishop feels homesick so they ask the Lamb to take them to their domains -> they become a demon to accompany you on your crusade -> you get to their temple -> you give them their relic back (or don't, I know know what happens if you do that) -> they drop some lore, most of which was already figured out by the fanbase -> they ask to take them back to the cult.
And speaking of those lore drops, they aren't that good, imo
Literally the only bishop who even mentioned the genocide was Kallamar, and he didn't even mention it by name. (He said something like "when Shamura stated what we had to do to survive, I also didn't want to listen")
The fandom already figured out that Narinder's sin was resurrection, so I guess Shamura was here just to confirm that.
I already forgot what Heket said other than "There is no justice in these lands" or something like that. (Which again, most of the fanbase already figured out that the lands of the old faith sucked to live in)
Leshy said something about preferring chaos to planning and schemes and that he didn't know the extent of Narinder's or his siblings plans.
I will say, I do like how these quests give us some info on the mindsets of the bishops (the aforementioned bit about Leshy preferring chaos to planning, Heket calling herself and her family monsters, Kallamar being self aware of his cowardice, and Shamura's whole line about "death must be the end, if not, what use do mortals have for gods")
Now you may be saying "well, this probably isn't the end for the bishops, Jojo probably has more stuff planned for them!" And to that, I say that if that were the case, I wouldn't be making this post.
So let's look at the patch notes, shall we?
Tumblr media
How lovely, there was clearly a lot in this update!
Wait, what's that 7th bullet point?
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, you read that right
This is the final quest line we're getting for the bishops
This is probably the last time we will see any of them get dialogue
This is the last time the devs are going to do anything with the bishops
And this is how they send them off
Such wasted opportunity, in my opinion.
EDIT: So I recently got the little conclusion that Narinder and his family has. And I liked it... at first.
He essentially just says "I'm not going to go on a speech who's fault it was. The world will go on." Or something like that, and it honestly feels less like Jojo was trying to write a good conclusion, and more like they were hastily trying to get Narinder and the bishops out of the way so that they can focus on their ✨️precious and flawless Lamb✨️
I don't really know what else to say without the entire fanbase hating me more than it already does.

Underestimated usually works in his favor
Also named my AU's yellow cat Jamie! Hope you like it :D
Plus small lore rant and why Leshy is my favorite:
The fact Leshy has not only been blind for a millennium but literally a worm who's shown distinct connections to the natural life around him- means he does just fine, if not thrives by himself.
I feel as though because he keeps his past a secret when he joins the Lamb's followers (about his ex-godhood, living/fighting blind, and once being sighted) it leaves people assuming him incapable based on how young he looks and their own harmful beliefs.
Something I'm sure the Lamb is weeding out while also making up for it by letting and watching Leshy cause chaos and have petty revenge in the meantime.

Been thinking about this a while so as the Shattering Spirits are being rolled back soon here are my thoughts on the Sky Economy. a VERY long post.
Tumblr media
Event Spacing (1)
I joined right after Season of Prophecy ended, Season of Dreams was to start in about 3~ weeks? not sure since it was a long while ago.
Later seasons I notice rather than getting up to a month of season downtime, we now get as little as less than a week to break between seasons. Season gaps became slim. Hardly time for off season daily candle quests that make racking up normal candles easier.
On top of this, “Days Of —“ Events became more and more prominent, being mashed on top of Travelling spirits and new off season cosmetics that cost white candles. There’s no room to breathe, its almost a punishment to players who’ve taken breaks from the game after burning out from having to candle run consistently just for new items. Cosmetics that they miss out on get price hikes from their original value in reruns with the new ticket system. It’s a cycle of fomo and it’s what’s killing the playerbase in the first place.
The lack of spacing seems pretentious in a way, since nearly with every update, a new game breaking bug is rolled out, makes it feel ironic since season down gaps have been cut for seemingly no reason.
Ticketing (2)
A while ago TGC added the ticket system denoting inflation in the sky economy, it was made to remedy the fact people can’t keep affording everything with candles.
Yes it did help somewhat, as the tickets are very easy to collect, but with 3 new ftp cosmetics that are bought with these tickets and some things costing up to a weeks worth of tickets it’s easy to have to skip these items because some people just don’t want to do more daily searching on top of the already daily quests from the questgiver.
Returning items not only are insanely expensive but additionally do not equate the energy spent grinding in their original release (The Days of Sunlight towels from last year have no right being that expensive whatsoever.)
Candles (3)
Early 2021, around March the Daily Light “Chevron” was rolled out as a way to farm light without feeling the pressure to grind insanely hard daily (since very many people were asking for a way to get candles more leisurely, since candle running was very time consuming)
It became redundant as the prices for candle items was driven up very far. Not to be so “back in my day” but genuinely the need to candle run extensively in the way we do now wasn’t as big as it is now.
This is funny. Because now I see people asking for the same thing. A faster, less grindy way to candle run.
the first in game event I participated in was the first Days of Bloom, the cherry blossom cape was 70 candles (which to me was VERY expensive at the time). The following year’s wisteria cape cost 105, then the next tulip cape cost 110. The first price driveup was already kind of nuts to me (is the cape really worth a 35 candle mark up to the first one?) It’s hard to even prepare with the aforementioned small event gaps, it’s punishing to newer players and players who’ve skipped events out of burnout without any time to prepare for candles unless you pay real money to get candles quickly.
Assuming an average person clears their chevrons daily (15-17 candles) and heart trades with their friends (-3 for every person traded with) it’s hard to afford everything that comes your way. Travelling spirit prices are near doubling what they used to, items now costing over 100 candles with the inclusion of the batshit expensive nesting shop it really burns people out knowing you can’t afford everything you want in a game you already grind daily in. It’s demanding.
IAP items (4)
Do I even have to talk about this. The Sunlight Chunky sandals cost more than you can buy actual sandals. Why are in game cosmetics costing up to $25 USD. Huh. I could buy a whole meal for that.
Cute little items cost only a dollar before but now they’re like $3 and its kind of bonkers to me. I have to pay $3 whole dollars for a tiny jellyfish on my shoulder. is this not crazy. im not crazy right? dont wanna get deep into this but jesus my wallet
So why do I care so much? (5)
Sky is a game I hold near and dear to my heart. But I notice people including myself have stopped playing for the same, very painful reason. The fact that Sky is very buggy with little to no compensation to players as well as the Economy being so. So very bad. as well as the shithole that was shattering (the hype for that season was so crazy because yay lore!!! no actually Fuck you crab stunlock 100000)
I know people will be “Well you don’t HAVE to buy — item”, but the game’s userbase is driven completely on grinding for new cosmetics. The active playerbase is driven on just candlerunning. The lore is interesting but there’s hardly anything in game to go off of, there’s little to no curiosity for what the game is and it’s story because it gets more and more arbitrary as TGC refuses to talk about it in game. (Jenova Chen saying that games are not an effective storytelling format really pisses me off sorry)
The cycle of fomo that is essentially required to keep the playerbase going just makes me feel like this game is made on popsicle sticks and prayers (thanks aspen for this line). I can’t find myself to love sky in the same way I used to as a moth.
anyways this is really messy. Sorry. but like damn this is kind of a sad thing to me. made this post because a rant on yt got misogynistic in the middle out of nowhere so i wanted to give my own take minus the misogyny

I do enjoy the idea of the Lamb being blind. They were most likely used and abused before their execution. I wouldn't be surprised of a Lamb being captured and barely kept alive to produce the now rare wool until the proper cultists could get their hands on them. Many things that make them would be cut off, so that they are only dependent on their captors; like their visions. Can't really escape if you can't see where to go. Probably a lot of trauma with it, like definitely now doesn't like shearing and when have to, does it alone. Tho more parallels with TOWW, if the Lamb was imprisoned and chained for most of their life. (I do remember this AU art I remember seeing a while back where the Lamb used to be locked up similarly and had a black cat that used to visit them regularly) I could see the Lamb being even more motivated to fight for TOWW after learning that they are chained the same way, Narinder still being in cuffs just like the Lamb was.
But now at the service of their god, they could probably see in some way thanks to the crown. My personal idea for one would be to feel and see the blood and souls. That, outside of it, it is complete darkness for them outside of their other senses. (Heck, would lead to a lot more blood rituals and also gives a pretext to the use of red(blood) markings on the faces of their cultists, so that the Lamb can 'see' them.)
The main idea I'm thinking about is the Lamb asking The One Who Waits to be able to feel their face and 'see' how their God looks. I always enjoy the idea that some knowledge of TOWW survived for worshipers and maybe Sheepkind, but it is better for the Lamb to truely see that their God is real.
Let's not talk how Narinder probably having been held that way since their siblings and wouldn't be touch starved. Or maybe he thought that the moment the Lamb would touch him, they would decay like everything does, and so that would teach them a lesson after he revives them, only to be surprised by the fact that they can touch him. Or let's not talk about the Lamb calling him prettier and taller (and softer) than they could had imagined. And we certainly don't talk how genuine compliments and reactions (like, 'wait, you have 3 eyes?! That's so Cool!!!') makes Narinder feel.

What was Nari and the Carillonneur's relationship like pre-betrayal? I'm assuming not good since you said Narinder found enjoyment in their post-defeat state and taunted them occasionally.
It definitely wasn’t a healthy relationship by all means and was kinda co-dependent. It’s sort of hard to properly explain their relationship in words . All I gotta say: The song breezeblocks by Alt-J and that one song Saccharine sums their relationship up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Cw for talking of an unhealthy relationship) sorry for mistakes I was really tired
//
So yeah their relationship was pretty toxic for a lack of a better word. The Carillonneur was extremely obsessive over Narinder, since he was the first person that they could properly interact with, and also their promised liberator which led to them becoming very attached. They craved his attention, and with their status as a god felt entitled to it, and would be miserable without him
And, being very unhinged with a broken mind, they didn’t exactly know how to properly handle the greatness of their obsession, and when Narinder visited them, they often had outbursts under the weight of their own emotions, these outbursts would be out of excitement, frustration, etc. most of their the frustrated outbursts really just stemmed from them being so excited. They didn’t know how to properly express their feelings and tried to show ‘their love’ in their own weird ways, what can be perceived as threats or sick desires is what they meant to be a showcase of their of ‘ endearment ‘
Before Narinder had the red crown bestowed upon him he felt weak, constantly in a state of fear of beings that could hurt him, so when he got the red crown it gave him a huge ego boost. Developing the glaring (aka the flock) with beings under his thumb further fed into it as he loved the feeling of being ‘powerful’. Though, when he was with The Carillonneur it’s like he gets knocked off his pedestal of being great and all, because he’s also attached to the carillonneur in his own way. He felt obligated to them, as his the god that saved, befriended, -and in their more calmer moments- provided a ‘safe haven’ and praise for him. He subconsciously sought comfort in the arms of their praises and thrived off it, he was dependent on their approval and they somehow, despite being everything they are, made him feel at ease, which he absolutely loathed . The way The Carillonneur treated and talked to him made him feel like an object of their possession
he recognised that The Carillonneur was also attached to him in a different way than he was with them, and would begin to ignore the Carillonneur’s attempts at contact through the crown and enjoyed the desperation they had for his attention which, of course, he used to feed his ego
In a way, The Carillonneur resented Narinder for making them feel emotions that were incredibly overwhelming for them and how he messed with their already jumbled brain wires, while Narinder resented the Carillonneur for how they knocked him off his pedestal of greatness and made him feel inferior ..,. So yeah, really shitty relationship the two of them had and OG Narinder with Mori arent much better (neither is Shamura with Koa) I took a good chunk out of these paragraphs and there’s more layers to their relationship but it is 3 AM AS IM WRITING THIS AUGHHH. I’m sure you guys can fill in the little details that I left out.

In my hc Leshy and Heket are the youngest two, and were pretty close before their family broke apart. When Narinder was imprisoned and all of the bishops were hurt, it was hard for these two. Kallamar was not made to lead or do anything in that sense, so when Shamura’s brain got yoinked he dedicated most of his time to caring for them. So when it came to decision making Heket was the one to make it because Kallamar fell short.
This is not Kallamar bashing btw, I think they all process things differently especially with what happened, Shamura was like his anchor so without his older sibling to help them he felt lost- there’s a lot of denial there as well and unintentional ignoring of his others siblings.
Anyway, Heket found herself being the new “Shamura” trying to do what they did, which ended with her calling for all lambs to be killed because of the prophecy as she didn’t want to risk her family being hurt anymore.
Finally Leshy, he just kinda stops, literally. Chaotic schemes and arguing all cease since his eyes were clawed out. He’s only closest to being his old self with Heket, but in the most devastating twist the two of them cannot communicate, Heket can’t speak and Leshy can’t see her signing.
Blah blah blah I’ll write more later- im a sucker for big sis Heket ESPECIALLY when she’s not the eldest yummy angst

how the Bishops handled revival
while originally they could handle their injuries as Bishops, the same cannot be said when they're "mortal" and without their crowns.
Shamura: initially unconscious upon arrival and heavily bleeding. It’s only thanks to the quick work of Kallamar (who was on his feet by then) and the healers that prevented them from dying again. Upon coming out of a fragile state they're agitated, confused and aggressive; lashing out and hurting anyone who came near them, even their own siblings. Only Witness Allocer and Kallamar handled them. Eventually they settled, which happened much quicker with Narinder by their side. On bad days they tend to lash out or have episodes similar to dementia. That's thankfully happening less and less as time goes on. Sewing and knitting calms them so that's their job.
Kallamar: woke up and was unable to stand up straight and walk properly due to the damage to his ears. Eventually he succumbed to illness due to having a weakened immune system (he always had a weak one before the Blue Crown chose him.) Saleos mostly took care of him with Narinder helping. He had to be taught sign language for days when there's a lot of noise (think festivals). [Sign language is taught to many of the cultists. they may be a cult but they ARE inclusive!] Mostly avoids Narinder and tries not to catch Lamb's eye. Lives with Saleos (he was the youngest of Kallamar's disciples so he out lived Haborym and Baalzebub.) Will fall sick easily when there's sickness around, so as a healer he focuses his expertise on common colds (which he has an easier time shaking off) and physical injuries.
Heket: was choking on her blood when she awoke, would have died from blood loss had the healers not stepped in quick enough. Because of her ripped throat Heket was unable to eat food for several days, which was agony for her. All she could 'eat' was the water and thin broth the healers dripped into her mouth. Narinder and Leshy stayed by her side as she slowly recovered. Struggles to talk due to physical trauma so she had to be taught sign language to speak. She's a decent cook.
Leshy: was bleeding from his eyes but wasn't in any danger of dying. Was a pain in the ass for the healers however, he didn't make things easier with his wriggling and cursing. Once the pain eased, however, he calmed down and took his current situation well. It helped that Narinder kept him company. Occasionally uses a cane when there's crowds, more structures built, etc. Other than that he can get around just fine using the vibrations in the earth to help guide him. Is a farmer but does bartend on occasion.
TL;DR-
Shamura: where am I? i'm scared i'm angry i'm going to rip someone's arm off if they come near me where is my cat
Kallamar: oh my god i've been puking for five days straight and my head feels like it's spinning
Heket: (sad dying frog noises as her stomach growls)
Leshy: y'know I kinda like it here.

Oh my god, the goat is such a little shit lmao
Obviously, I watched the video before this. It's worth every second. I'm gonna do the cut thing just in case someone hasn't watched it before they find this
Tumblr media
They're so full of themselves! I have to say, this is not the personality I expected based on the game. It's great! It fits way more with the whole "lambs darker counterpart" thing.
Tumblr media
They're so petty towards the lamb. EVEN THE CROWN IS LAUGHING AT THE LAMB!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just the biggest hater out there. We love to see it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But of course, they do care. This is clearly much more of a sibling rivalry type thing rather than actual distaste, at least I think so. Goat gives me strong gremlin child vibes, and I should know, I was that little shit younger sibling.
Tumblr media
Also, I just love this face from the lamb.
Tumblr media
And now we must ask ourselves. Is this a teaser, or just a fun short. Pilgrims passage has always felt a bit incomplete to me, between the fish guy and the boat at the end of the dock that you CAN’T INTERACT WITH even though it's CLEARLY something since it just shows up after a while (I still hold out hope it will do something eventually). But I don't know, this whole ocean freezing thing (and the big fish/sea monster thing) feels like more than just a one-off thing for a short. The map also has a bunch of interesting looking places that we just can't go to, so who knows.
