Hey guys, I’m back from my hiatus! 👋

Just thought that I might as well share the doodles I made during that time. Turns out that I had more time than I thought to do some doodling at least. It depends on how many jobs I get scheduled for each week.

Be prepared for a lot more Tsadeth, because I’m having some serious brainrot of them right now.

Something just occurred to me as I was writing a comment for the Season of Radiance. I think the reason why grinding for resources in Sky is so darn tedious compared to other games is because of these reasons.

- The amount of time it takes to get a single candle and dye takes way too long (depending on how many pegs you have left for candles at least.) It can take hours just to get as many as 20 candles, now even more so with having dyes added to the game. In other games, like Breath of the Wild, you simply just pick them up.

- Since the amount of candles and dyes you can get a day is capped at a certain amount, you can’t continue and get yourself prepared on days that you are more motivated and leave days that you are busy to take a break. It also feels unrewarding because the amount is capped at so little. For instance, being able to only get one jar of black and white dye a day means nothing when more often than not, you need 3-6 in order to dye something.

- The capped number on every currency in the game is completely unbalanced with what everything cost (not counting basic game cosmetics), and this further adds frustration to the fact that 90% of items are only around for a limited amount of time. All items, both limited and stuff that are around all the time, cost over 20 candles. Many things take even take a week or two just to get enough candles for.

I’m actually ok with Sky Beta being revamped, and I think my reason why might actually be the exact reason why TGC is doing it in the first place.

For as long as Sky has existed, beta has been more or less a way for players to have bragging rights. That, and beta seemingly only existing for some beta players to leak content. It’s hard to say how many of the players were actually “testing” and reporting things like bugs.

And recently, the beta spoilers have gotten so thick that a good half of the Season of Radiance was spoiled for me because so many beta content posters weren’t properly censoring their posts. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun to peak. I’ve done it a lot myself. But recently I’ve found that exploring new updates actually in the game the when they go live to be more entertaining and engaging. (Even if TGC has a bad habit of not making things clear to players.)

That said, I salute you beta players. I know how it feels to have all of that data you worked for just completely disappear… 🫡

I’m very tired and life hasn’t been treating me very well lately, so this is all I can push myself to draw for now.

Edit: Yes Rin, that’s originally supposed to be Cackling Cannoneer speaking (although it can be up to interpretation). I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually had a body that they need to hide.

Am I the only one who’s like “What the heck do pirates and treasure have to do with Sky?”

Yes, I know Season of Abyss was similar, but at least the story and area were heavily tied to the game’s lore.

Also, what use does the shovel even have outside of the event? I’m genuinely curious.
