Safe Harbor (Alessia X Singer!R)
Summary: R is a very famous singer at the end of a very long, very crazy tour. Alessia is there to take care of her.
Warmings: Established D/s dynamics. The use of Daddy, and Collars. No smut.
You knew that you were living a dream.
You knew that millions of people would trade everything to be in the position you were in.
They would do anything to have stadiums scream their name and for their songs to play on the radio for the world to hear.
You had been plucked out of obscurity after you unsuspectingly played a bar in Leeds in front of Ed Sheeran when you were 16. A year and a half later you had taken Billboard's Hot 100 by storm, broken the record for most weeks at number one by a new artist… twice, and you were opening for Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour.
That had just been the beginning.
Now you were on your 3rd world tour, selling out stadiums for yourself, with one of the best-selling albums of all time.
It was… crazy that a kid from Maidstone who barely had enough to eat growing up had thousands of people screaming your name every night, singing your lyrics back to you like they were anthems.
Your music was raw, personal. Painfully autobiographical.
Your fans picked apart every lyric, dissecting your words with obsessive precision. The heartbreak, the loss, the fear woven into every track—they clung to it like it was their story, too. Before You Go, Say Something, Thinking Out Loud—each song became a window into your soul. And they were desperate to see more.
It was why your first album had gone platinum overnight, and every album after it had debuted at number 1.
They resonated with your honesty, and that’s what made people fall in love with it.
You had expected that part.
What you hadn’t expected was that they hadn’t just fallen in love with the music—they had fallen in love with you.
The girl with the sunny personality, and the commanding stage presence. The girl who smiled brightly at every meet-and-greet, made them laugh at every interview, and always took time to meet fans, even after long days in the studio or on music video sets. They built you up as their idol, their friend, their fantasy. They flirted with you in meet-and-greets before you were 18 and treated you like you belonged to them. Like they were entitled to every part of you.
At some point, you became an enigma—Y/N Y/L/N, the nine-time Grammy winner. The infallible pop star. The face that was painted on the side of billboards, and smiling in Colgate commercials.
At some point, just Y/n failed to exist to them, and you liked it that way.
You did well to dodge their invasive questions, running interviewers around in circles, and answering fans with witty remarks to avoid answering. And over the years (and through 4 albums), you only got better at preventing the fans from learning anything of substance about your private life. The only glimpses they got were through your music, and you liked to keep it that way.
You did your best to keep it that way.
The only time you let them get close, let the world peek behind the curtain, was during the piano set of your concerts.
It was dubbed the surprise song set by the fans even though 2 of 3 songs never changed. It was where you sang your most emotional songs, and where you let yourself be vulnerable. Open. Real.
Tonight was no different. Or at least, you were trying to convince yourself of that.
You sucked in a long breath, your fingers tracing the black and white keys as the final chords of Bruises echoed through the stadium, curling off the walls and over the crowd. Their energy buzzed around you, rolling like an ocean wave.
You could feel it crashing against your chest, adding to the adrenaline bubbling through your veins.
You took another deep breath, the air catching in your throat as you tried to control your breathing enough so you could talk. So you could give your signature speech before revealing the night's surprise song.
Maybe tonight was different.
You felt more… exposed.
More… vulnerable.
This year was nothing short of a whirlwind. Eighty sold-out shows across the U.S. in the summer, followed by another thirty in Europe and the UK. Three back-to-back number-one singles—no small feat—only knocked from the top spot after 18 weeks by Taylor Swift herself.
It was amazing and incredible and exhausting all rolled together.
You dearly loved your fans, their passion, and their devotion, but you were drained.
Your eyes slid closed, allowing the bone-deep weariness to cut through the buzz from the crowd for just a second as you pulled your fingers from the keys, briefly rubbing the leather braided bracelet around your wrist as you reset for the next song.
It was the closest thing you’d had to your girlfriend's touch in nearly 2 months, and it wasn’t nearly enough. One soft touch from her would make it all melt away.
One touch and she would take away the burden of control that had plagued you since you started the tour.
You would finally be able to let go and just be.
There were only 6 songs left and then you would be with her, your lighthouse on rocky seas. Your anchor on stormy nights.
You took another deep breath.
It was the last show of an incredible year, and you had something very very special planned.
Something no one would see coming.
Your eyes blinked open as the crowd noise dipped, and you painted your signature smirk on your face as you leaned back toward the mic.
“So Wembley, how are we feeling?” You asked into the microphone, smiling widely at the roar from the audience that met you. “Fantastic,”
You brought your fingers to the piano, letting them dance delicately across the keys. They had no particular rhythm, though they were in the key that your surprise song would be in.
You wanted to avoid giving the surprise away yet.
“So you know, I was thinking about what song I was going to play tonight, trying to figure out which one would be the perfect end to such an amazing tour,” You couldn’t help the little laugh that left you as the audience got impossibly louder, cheering out an indistinguishable mix of song titles that you had yet to play on this tour. You paused for a long second, feeling their cheers only grow, popping your in-ear monitor out for effect.
It was endearing really, how into it they got (especially when you found out that they had created an entire fantasy league about what version of your outfits you would wear and what songs you would sing). They made it easy to pretend like you were having the time of your life instead of fantasizing about what you would be doing in 40 minutes.
You shook your head, popping the monitor back into your ear and your fingers returning to the keys, letting their chants fill you up, and drive you forward.
“And I was talking to one of my favorite people,” You continued, starting to pick out a tune that was a bit closer to the song you were going to play. “Now you all know I don’t normally take requests, but this being the final night of the Eclipse World Tour, and with such special guests in the audience I couldn’t quite say no,”
Your eyes instinctually found Alessia as you hit the opening chord, and though you could see her expression you could feel her gaze burning into you.
Seeing through you.
Even surrounded by people, her attention was the only one you craved.
“It’s a song I haven’t played for a long time, so I’m going to need your help.” You continued, Never breaking eye contact with her. “Will you help me tonight Wembley?”
The crowd roared in approval, and goosebumps erupted on your skin at the sheer energy they projected at you. It filled your chest and fueled your fingers as you finally hit the signature piano riff that opened the song.
You flashed the crowd your signature smirk, all essence of yourself slipping beneath your on-stage persona.
And when you opened your mouth to sing the first line; it felt easy. It felt right.
Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands
Closed your eyes and trusted
Just trusted
*****
Watching you perform was magic.
It had always been magic.
Whether it was a show in Wembley in front of 100,000 people, or one when you were small with a guitar the same size as you, Alessia had always been mesmerized by you. Even before the two of you were old enough to put names to what you were feeling.
It didn’t matter that she had seen you play thousands (hundreds of thousands) of times, nor that this was not her first time attending one of the shows on this tour.
She leaned forward on the barricade separating the VIP tent from the Floor sections as you began to play the piano break.
“She’s incredible,” Leah said, leaning closer to Alessia to be heard above the crowd. “They’re eating out of the palm of her hand,”
Alessia hummed. “She is,”
The audience was glued to every move, every breath you took on stage. She was too, and so were all of her teammates.
What made it even better was that you were hers, and she got to enjoy you from her favorite seat in the house.
They hadn’t originally been slated to be in the VIP tent.
Viv had organized the tickets, picking an area on the 2nd balcony because they were the only ones left. Alessia had gone along with it, only mentioning to you that 800$ was crazy for a 2nd tier balcony ticket in passing.
You had sleepily agreed, cursing Ticketmaster and reminding Alessia of the 10-hour meetings you had endured when your fans crashed the site during pre-sale. You hadn’t said anything about it since, so she assumed you had forgotten.
You did not forget.
There had been a team waiting to escort them when they arrived, and you had made sure the tent was loaded with all of their favorites. You had also refunded the tickets, and given them away to 23 fans outside of the stadium.
You liked to do things for her. It was a way for you to serve her even from a distance, and she enjoyed telling you how good you were afterward.
She definitely had plans to do that tonight.
She leaned forward on the barrier as you got to the final chorus.
There was a reason this spot was always her favorite to watch the show from, and why she had been hesitant when they escorted her and her friends to the tent.
They were close to the stage. Close enough that Alessia could see the cracks in your carefully crafted facade.
She could see the dark circles under your eyes, and how your smile never met your eyes. She could see the slight curl of your shoulders, and how you kept twisting your bracelet tightly around your wrist.
She could see the command you had of the crowd wearing on you, and just how in your head you were.
All of her instincts told her to protect you. To wrap you up, and take the reigns so you could just exist without thinking. So you could submit and know that she would take care of you.
And sure, her teammates had caught glimpses of the dynamic between the two of you, but you both liked to keep the heavier aspects to yourselves.
It was harder for her to do that when she had watched the toll this tour had taken on you, and knew just how close you were to being able to let go.
“Is it just me or does she look shattered,” Katie asked as the song came to an end, the final note ringing around the stadium as your eyes once again closed and you sucked in air through your nose.
Alessia didn’t take her eyes away from you. “Not just you,”
She followed the rapid rise and fall of your chest, and how your fingers silently fluttered over the keys before you began to play again.
“She’s barely slept at all this week because of end-of-tour meetings,” Alessia continued as you began picking out a new tune. “And she’s been co-producing an album that comes out next month, so she’s barely had time to think, much less do anything else.”
Leah hummed from her other side. “I’m just surprised you haven’t stepped in yet.”
Alessia made a low sound in the back of her throat.
It was… complicated.
While Alessia had rules that you followed (even while you were on tour) to help protect both your physical and mental health, you both had boundaries when it came to your careers.
She understood that you had responsibilities and that sometimes you had to prioritize work to make everything run smoothly. (She also secretly relished watching you in boss mode, knowing that you would be kneeling at her feet later.)
The agreement you had was that she would only interfere under 2 conditions. First, if you crossed the Limits the two of you had agreed upon years ago without communicating with Alessia first. Second, if you asked.
“Tonight I will,” Alessia said as your eyes opened and you leaned back towards the microphone, your fingers dancing along the keys.
“Since we have the incredible women of Arsenal in the audience tonight, I think there’s one more song we have to do before continuing the show,”
The audience roared in response.
Your smile was charming, even as your eyes danced vacantly across the screaming fans in the pit next to the small stage that held your piano.
Alessia could imagine the edits that would be online later, the people swearing that your expression was solely meant for them. They would think the way you twisted your bracelet was to show them how much you liked the copies they wore.
She shook her head.
The chords under your fingers changed, shifting into another familiar tune.
North London Forever
Whatever the Weather
You pulled back from the microphone, tilting your head to the sky as the fans picked up the song all around you.
The stage lights swelled around you, illuminating the crowd as they sang for you. Your fingers deftly played the background music for the song.
She could understand why it was a tradition for you. Why you always added North London Forever to the last show of your tours, especially when you ended in London.
And my heart will leave you never
My blood will forever
Goosebumps erupted on her skin as the crowd of 100,000 sang the rest of the chorus, and pride swelled in her chest, replacing her worry for just a moment.
You wouldn’t have done a sing along if you were too far gone.
Your relationship was built on trust, and Alessia trusted that you were ok for now. She would step in when the show was over, and you were ready.
****
“Thank you London,”
The final notes of Shut Up and Dance pounded through the stadium.
You held your arms out wide, as if to physically soak in their cheers as the stage lights dimmed, leaving only one shining against your back, silhouetting you for the audience In a perfect replica of your album cover. Then everything went dark, and the platform you had been standing on lowered so you were under the stage.
“Great show Y/n,” Your tour manager, Aubrey, said as you stepped off the lift, the crowd noise barely fading.
You nodded in response, your tongue suddenly feeling too heavy in your mouth to form words. it felt like you were trying to think through an old television with terrible reception, the images staticy and broken. Fatigue settled into your bones, heavy and cold.
A soft robe was draped over your shoulders by one of the production crew, and you twisted the bracelet around your wrist until the edges cut into your skin.
You focused on the pain, letting it ground you as you put one foot in front of the other and allowed your team to guide you from beneath the stage.
your security team flanked you the second you were out from under the stage, acting like a protective wall.
“You need to rehydrate.” Steve, your head of security said, pressing a blue Gatorade into your fingers.
They instinctively closed around the bottle, and Steve nudged you again to get you to bring it to your lips.
“Small sips kid,” Clint added from your other side, as the third member of your security team, Natasha, made eye contact with Steve
You tried to follow their directions, but your hands were shaking so badly you almost dropped the drink.
You felt Powerful.
You felt… floaty.
It was so… weird. It usually took you hours to come down from the high of a show, and devolve into… whatever this was.
To finally give in and call your girlfriend for help.
You had been… reluctant to bother her in the last few weeks.
She had been busy with international friendlies, and you didn’t exactly like exploring your dynamic while you were separated.
Dropping into sub space was hard for you on a good day, guided by Alessia‘s firm but comforting presence. Doing it while the two of you were doing long distance was a painful impossibility.
The few times it had actually worked were misery for you. Like your brain was made of broken glass and no one was there to help you knit the fractured shards back together.
Even with her voice on the other end of a video call, it had been brutal.
You had put it off, and put it off, and now it seemed that your body wasn’t going to give you a choice.
“I’ll be back.” Natasha said, turning on her heel as Steve shifted to shield you from the people buzzing around backstage.
You didn’t even acknowledge her, blinking slowly as cling helped you bring the bottle of Gatorade to your lips.
“Take deep breaths.” Clint said gently. “We have to get to the tunnel.”
You tried, but it was like you were under water, or sucking air through a straw.
You were crashing, and you still had to face the public one last time before you could let go.
You swallowed hard, forcing the fog in your brain away and your signature smirk on your face.
It would satisfy the people waiting for you to make your way out from behind the stage and into the safety of the stadium halls, away from prying eyes.
“Let’s go.” You muttered, pushing the Gatorade back towards Steve.
It took all of your strength just to utter the word, and you knew it would take every bit of mental fortitude you had to wave at the fans as you passed.
But it was required.
It was the least you could do for the people who bought obstructed view seats. A thing you had done for every one of your other shows. A thing fans would absolutely notice if you didn’t do it.
It didn’t matter how much you didn’t want to.
“Let’s do it.” Clint agreed, positioning his hand on the small of your back, while Steve did the same on your other side.
You straightened and squared your shoulders.
You could do this one last act for your fans. Then you could let go.
*******
“That show is incredible,” Beth said, leaning against the VIP barricade. “I don’t know how she runs around like that for 3 and a half hours,”
“A lot of cardio,” Leah shrugged. “She released a whole behind the scenes video of how she trained for the tour.”
“That video felt staged though.” Viv said. “She was very different then she usually is with us, or you Less,”
The English striker hummed. “She likes to keep separation between her professional life and her private life.”
“Makes sense.” Katie agreed. “Did you see how many people had braided bracelets in all different colors?”
“I did.” Alessia nodded, her eyes trailing across the area near the stage, looking for your personal assistant. “But they have no clue what hers actually means. You all know her, but the fans just know the idea of her. It’s easier to keep it all separated.”
It was strange that she hadn’t seen your assistant yet. That she hadn’t come to retrieve her and the team.
Chloe was usually waiting at the VIP tent to take her backstage before the last fireworks of the show had even finished.
It had alarm bells swirling in her brain.
“It’s kind of amazing how confident she is on stage.” Beth agreed. “It’s like she’s 2 different people.”
“Sometimes she is.” Alessia trailed off spotting a different redhead coming around the stage. Your security instead of your assistant.
It was hard to wrap her head around the dichotomy between your loud, confident persona on stage and the quiet girl she knew you were, and as your career grew, that difference had only gotten larger.
Her eyebrows furrowed as Natasha approached them, nodding towards her friends before meeting her eyes. “I need to borrow you, please,”
Katie whistled. “Get it Lessie,”
“Gotta get that post concert energy out,” Kyra snickered, and the tear erupted into laughter behind her.
She shot a glare towards her cackling team. “Of course,”
Natasha was a part of your personal security. She didn’t need words to convey that you needed Alessia, and you needed her now.
“Alone please,” Natasha said, her eyes flickering towards the girls who tried to exit the tent with Alessia.
The laughter stopped around them, and Alessia nodded once, turning back towards the team.
“We’ll catch up with you lot tomorrow?” Alessia said, authority that the team rarely heard leaking into her tone. “We can do lunch, or maybe Dinner.”
Leah stepped forward and nodded, knowing this was not the time to argue with her. “Tell y/n thank you for the tickets and that we send our love,”
“Go take care of your superstar,” Beth nodded towards Natasha.
“I will,” Alessia nodded, stepping out of the tent.
She meant it.
You had taken care of yourself for most of the tour. It was her turn now.
******
You didn’t remember how you got to your dressing room. You didn’t remember waving to the fans, smiling widely and sending them hand hearts.
one second you were backstage, and then you blinked and Steve was gently closing the dressing room door behind you.
You paced the room, pushing the dark robe off of your shoulders. You didn't know what to do with yourself.
It was too warm and too cold. The dress shirt you wore on stage was too soft and too scratchy. Your mind was racing too fast and moving too slow all at once.
your breathing hitched, and you brought your trembling fingers of one and to your lips to prevent the sobs threatening to bubble out. The other tugged useless at your collar, trying to get air. This was not normal. It was rare you dropped, let alone this hard or this deep.
It was like quicksand, sucking you into the chaotic spiral deeper, faster, with more force the more you tried to fight it. Your thoughts were a jumbled mess, and your brain was going to rip itself apart trying to untangle them.
You were in free fall, plummeting faster than you ever had before with no net to catch you. You had put it off for too long, and now you had no choice.
You knew you needed to do something, but making the decision of what you should do felt impossible.
You were done making decisions for the foreseeable future.
The sound of the door clicking open and shut again was nearly drowned out by the buzzing in your ears, but you Instinctively turned towards the presence that entered.
The air shifted around her as she stood in front of you like a mirage, immediately capturing all of your attention. For just a split second, your racing thoughts went quiet, and you were wholly consumed by her presence. It crackled like a warm fire on a cold day, or like a lightning storm over the sea. You couldn't decide.
You didn’t want to decide.
And you knew you didn’t need to.
Alessia- No, your Daddy was here and she would take care of everything.
Her gaze swept over you, taking in every twitch of your fingers against the buttons of your shirt, and the tremble that snaked its way across your shoulders and down your spine. You felt naked, despite the clothing scratching at your skin.
She crossed the room in 3 long strides, her hands catching your wrist before you even registered that she had moved.
”That’s enough, little one.” She said, keeping her voice gentle despite the command clear in it. “You’ve done so well, and I’m so proud of you, but I’m here now.”
She carefully unwound your fingers from here they were tearing at your shirt, placing them on her hips before deftly undoing the buttons. “I’ve got you. Just take deep breaths for me, love,”
You tried, but it felt like it was stuck in your throat, trapped by the inhuman sound now bubbling past your lips.
She carefully slid the thin material of your shirt from your shoulders, and you met her eyes.
The sob you’d been holding in finally broke free, your knees weakening as the weight of it all hit you. But before you could completely crumble, Alessia’s arms were around you, pulling you into her chest. Her scent, her warmth, everything about her surrounded you like a safety net.
Her fingers tangled in your hair, and she rested her cheek on the top of your head. “You’ve done so well, you can relax now. I’m here with you and I’m not going anywhere,”
Her other hand ran soothing circles on your back, easing the prickles on your skin like the world's best Aloe. “Just breathe, love.”
Her comforting touch seeped past your skin, settling deep into your bones. It eased the knotted panic in your chest, and dulled the sharp, frantic edges of anxiety that raced through you.
“That’s it little one,” She cooed, her grip on your firm and unyielding. It was tether to reality. An anchor in the crashing storm that was your mind. A lifeline when you were being pulled beneath the tide.
“You’re safe. You’re here with me, and I will always keep you safe. Just relax,”
Her voice was as steady as her grip on you. Commanding in a way that couldn’t be ignored, but soft enough that it didn’t bristle your sensitive instincts. It was a mixture that only Alessia seemed to be able to achieve. A tone she could modulate to perfectly match the situation.
You melted into her chest, nodding weakly as your tears slowed. Your entire body shuttered with each inhale, and hitched with each breath you blew out.
You were moving past the uncomfortable phase of the drop where your brain felt like a shattered glass mirror, fractured and sharp, and into the lapping warmth that only Alessia seemed to be able to bring you.
Alessia’s hands continued their slow, comforting path up and down your back, her breath even and calm, giving you a rhythm to sync your own to.
“That’s it, little one,” she hummed, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “You’re such a good girl for me. You’ve done so well. Just let it all go.”
You whimpered.
It felt too raw, too exposed. But Alessia knew—she always knew.
Her fingers tilted your chin up, forcing you to meet her gaze. Her eyes were soft, but her tone left no room for argument.
“Look at me.” She said, using a finger to gently tilt your chin up. “You’ve done so well being in charge. You’ve run this entire tour, and made so many people happy. I’m so proud of you, but you can let go now. Let me be in charge for a little while,” She capped the statement with a gentle peck to your lips.
You tried to lean in to continue the kiss, but she pulled away.
“Later,” She promised, and you nodded once, sinking back into her chest.
You understood that she didn’t like to start anything while you were like this unless it was well discussed beforehand. While there was any chance that you couldn’t consent, or feel like you could remove consent.
You weren’t sure how long she stood there and held you, rocking gently from side to side and scratching your scalp. Long enough for the storm in your chest to mellow and for your brain to slowly begin knitting itself back together, grounded in the gentle pressure of your girlfriend. Your daddy.
“Let’s get cleaned up and then we can go home,” She said, when you pulled back enough to look at her. “Do you want your collar?”
you nodded against her chest, kissing gently under her chin.
“I need a verbal response, little one,” She said, dominance leaking into her tone to help you wade through the thick fog coating the crevices of your brain.
It took you a long second to think of the words, and another to push the fog in your mind back enough to actually verbalize them.
“Yes Daddy,” You said, frowning at how horse and garbled your voice was.
she hummed, carefully maneuvering you back towards the door. One hand stayed securely wrapped around you as the other reached into the bag you hadn’t seen her enter with and pulled out your soft, brown leather collar.
You hadn’t seen it since you left for tour, and just the sight was almost enough to send you back into a drop.
“Easy,” Alessia murmured, guiding you towards the couch that existed in all of your dressing rooms. She sat you on the edge, and kneeled in front of you so she was slightly shorter than you.
She trailed her hand down your arm to the bracelet around your wrist, carefully unclasping it and tucking it into her pocket. She then brought the soft leather of your regular collar to your neck, gently buckling it closed, making sure it wasn’t too tight.
Your shoulders immediately relaxed, the full weight of her claim settling on you.
“Let’s get cleaned up,” She said, catching your hand and standing you up. You went with her easily, leaning your weight on her as she led you to the bathroom.
The way she undressed you both and got you settled into the warm water of the shower was familiar, routine even.
You could feel yourself settling as she washed your hair, and cleaned your body of the sweat from the show.
She touched you like you were delicate, but not like you were fragile, and it was everything you needed to wade back to reality.
By the time she was using a towel to dry you off, and slipping one of her old UNC sweatshirts over your head you felt almost like yourself again. Your thoughts didn’t hurt anymore, and you were more grounded then you had been.
“Kneel for me,” She said softly, settling herself on the couch, and placing a pillow at her feet.
You hummed, and did as she asked, letting her guide you to lean back on her legs.
You sunk into the warmth of her sweatshirt, surrounded by the scent of her perfume as she toweled off your hair and braided It for you.
The rhythmic movement of her fingers through your hair and the feeling of safety and Alessia that encompassed you were enough to have your eyelids drooping.
You blinked heavily at the knock that sounded on the door, and the blonde head of your head of security poking his head in.
Steve didn’t look at you, steadfastly keeping his eyes on Alessia. “Miss Russo, we have the car ready whenever you are ready to leave.”
“Thank you, Steven,” She said softly, authority still dripping from her tone. “We’ll be out in a few minutes,”
He nodded and closed the door quietly as he exited.
“You’re all done, little one,” Alessia said, rubbing gentle circles in your shoulders, as you leaned further into her, your eyes sliding closed without your permission.
They only opened when she shifted behind you, and you turned to look at her sleepily.
She smiled gently at you, unable to stop herself from leaning in and pressing a quick peck to your lips.
This was her favorite version of you, soft and sleepy, unguarded and completely trusting. It was the version that only she got to see, and she was honored that you had chosen her to be your safe place.
”Alright little one,” She said, her finger hooked into the O-ring at the front of your collar, tugging lightly as she stood. “Let’s go home,”

Is there any evidence that kink is bad for victims? Ppl love to say cnc is good cope for SA victims do their claims have any base?
Hi anon!
Unfortunately, there is very little research on this topic. Given the cultural taboos around sex in general and kink specifically, this isn't very surprising. I'll summarize what I did find below:
This thesis [1] argues that "the consent narrative that is used to justify sadomasochistic violence is flawed ... making two arguments .. that the conditions which need be met for consent to be valid are frequently not met in instances of sadomasochistic violence [and] ... that even when consent meets the conditions for validity this does not justify sexually motivated violence as consent does not have the normative power required to justify the infliction of harm."
This book chapter [2] "highlight[s] how easily sexual behavior within a coercively controlling relationship can be presented as consensual" and argues that "that there should be a strong legal presumption that if a relationship is marked by coercive control that sexual behavior within it is non-consensual". They also note that:
"Rough sex" is a "hallmark" of coercive control.
Strangulation is particularly prevalent in coercive control.
Among heterosexuals involved in BDSM, 71% of women identified as submissive and 75% of men identified as dominant (indicating a strong gender difference resembling patriarchal social inequality).
A significant aspect of coercive control is that victims can come to accept the abuse, seeing it as normal (i.e., later in the relationship they "consent" to the abuse because they believe it is appropriate). They indicate this makes it "challenging" to identify "genuine" cases of consent.
The legal system often presumes consent even in extreme situations and there is a growing cultural norm expecting "rough sex" in relationships
Safe words are often ignored and, moreover, the safe word system itself places the responsibility of revoking consent on the submissive, who may not be in an emotional/psychological state to protect themselves.
This article [3] found BDSM submissive were more likely to have an anxious-avoidant attachment style (which is a type of unhealthy attachment style). However, they also found no significant relationship between BDSM involvement and childhood trauma.
This article [4] found 25.56% of "kink practitioners" reported "consent violations in the kink context".
I found some articles that discuss the idea that BDSM could be used as a type of trauma therapy. Rather tellingly, however, these weren't accompanied by any actual data.
All in all, there is insufficient research on this topic. The research I've presented here suggests that sexual violence is common in BDSM, that BDSM - in many ways - cannot be reliably distinguished from abuse, and that many submissive practitioners are at a disadvantage both inside the relationship and in a larger cultural context.
Beyond that, traumatic backgrounds doesn't appear to be more common in BDSM relationships, so the implication that practitioners are commonly using it as a type of therapy is erroneous.
If I find or see any other research on this topic, I'll add it!

Marchil crumbs part 3
Part 1 - Part 2 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6 - part 7
Count of times canon reminds us that Chilchuck is very attracted to blondes: 3rd For context: this is the canon explanation for everyone's shapeshifters
I can’t get over Chilchuck seeing Marcille like she has anime sparkles around her hair. How long have you stared at it. It’s like with the handsome Senshi where everyone is like "no this looks legit and absolutely like the real one" but her hair is shinier/prettier in the changeling than in the actual her
It drives me crazy that Marcille styles her hair every day for herself but little does she know she’s giving Chilchuck the show of his life, daily arranging his favorite thing aka blonde hair into different unique ornate hairstyles. Not that he cares about the details but ohh my god.
It makes sense that Chil would be the first one to notice her hair being all loose and messy then. He’s bothered by seeing her like this and wants her to tie it up again, and is even more unsetled and shocked when she says she doesn’t want to anymore. Though he also recovers from the shock quicker than Laios and takes charge of the situation. HE NOTICED. HE CARESSSS. IT BUGS HIM
^ That is what you call a character arc, of becoming attached to her hair lmfaoo(more like to Marcille and her habits). Or lying. "Man I sure wish she'd shave her hair I'd be less distracted on the job. Her golden majestic hair is so blinding with how shiny and sparkly it is ugh" /j
He chose to do a portrait teehee <3
Chilchuck defending her honor even under mind control that makes them honest zombies
Marcille out there defending his VIRTUE. It’s not just that he didn’t commit infidelity, he HAS A PURE HEART!! Honestly, assigned virtuous by a bicorn would so be the type of novel shenanigan that Marcille would hella romanticize. Which we do see her do lmao but <3
They're so funny together in the golden kingdom chapters. First of all, sitting in front of each other at the table? Nice. Second, them being on the same wavelength all throughout lmao.
Them. Sharing the same numerous braincells, nodding together and making good use of it to make good decisions for the party. Valuing their noses
Also can we apreciate that they like, can talk together. Communicate and debate. Even under tougher situations or more sensitive topics. Shit this would have been a good place to put the pages when Marcille was dungeon lord... But they're lined up for part 4 and part 3 is already full with pics... You guys have no idea how much Tetris I'm doing for these marchil crumbs posts
I wanna do a full compilation of every time he laughs at her but in the meantime have this small imperfect collection as well as this reddit comp. I swear she's the person/thing that makes him laugh and smile the most. Besides alcohol maybe
The gang and Chilchuck both knowing her well and not at all lol. Gotta love Chilchuck's confidence about knowing her favorite meal, and him remembering the bare minimum that even Laios hasn't lol
Marcille infesting his life to the point that, quote, "her delusions" are even part of his adventurer’s bible life timeline. The only picture in fact, in the streamlined canon reference to Chilchuck's life. "Hey is Marcille imagining herself as an halfling and Chil's wife with a mini Chilchuck baby Chilchuck's canon family appearances" canon: well no but actually yes /j
Chil at her bedside <3
Looking out for each other comp Yes thank you Chil captain obvious (he's trying his best and doesn't want to die let's not be mean c'mon). But like you know with that whole scene of the mad sorcerer attacking, for Chil it must have been the most terrifying thing ever. Ancient magic?? By an elf, targeting them with murderous intent?? With only an elf with also ancient magic to keep them safe attack by attack in the nick of time?? His biggest nightmare. I'm also reminded of when Chil talks with Leed about how "our magician held under the mad sorcerer's attack" all fond and 'I am so relieved I can trust her with my life' and Leed is like "That silly looking elf?!" and Chil was like "Yeah she's silly. At least she's strong tho." I'm getting carried away but yes this scene was relationship-defining in some ways
But they keep each other in check too
She was trying to make conversation and sharing her interests aw Chil come on
They're sooo domestic. "Chil are we there yet" "Marcille I swear to god if you ask me that one more time-". Also second time through the manga that Marcille squishes Chil against the ground/wall.
Get squeezed idiot
Part 4 is here!
#dungeon meshi#marchil#shipping crumbs#on today's menu: sigh... chilchuck fixating on blonde hair again... Marcille defending his virtue. Sharing brain waves across a dinner tabl#they're so... married behavior#looking ateachother and nodding wordlessly that they have to keep laiosfro mdoing this or that.

Pairings: Peter Parker & irondad!Tony Stark, Peter Parker & Ned Summary: peter parker, student at Midtown and Stark's favourite intern, is captured. Whumptober prompt #3 : solitary confinement / 'make it stop' Whumptober prompt #4 : cattle prod / shock Notes: indirect mentions of self harm, descriptions of torture masterlist || whumptober2023 || part two
The silence was suffocating.
Peter had never properly understood what people meant when they said that. Sound was not a tangible force - it was impossible to touch, so how could it possibly suffocate someone?
Now, stuck in this room for what he could only guess was going on a week, he understood.
The absence of sound will quickly become more overwhelming than any concert or panicked crowd. He absently wondered if it was worse due to his heightened senses, ears desperately straining for any sign of life.
Any day now, he kept telling himself, any day now and Mr Stark will come bursting through that door to save him. These thoughts quickly turned to worry for May.
Tonight, the darker thoughts had started to creep in. Does anyone even know I'm missing?
Peter tried to push them down as soon as they came up, but thoughts like those often found a way to stick. To burrow in to the irrational part of his brain and pollute all other thoughts.
"No" he whispered, voice still raw from the second day in the room. He had screamed until his voice gave up, banging on the walls in a panicked frenzy.
Mind racing, he dug his nails into the soft flesh of his forearms in an attempt to quiet it. To gain control.
"He will come." He let out a shaky breath, focusing on the dull pain radiating from his fingertips. "Mr Stark is coming."
In the quietest moments, when even Peter's thoughts went silent, he was transported back to the first week at midtown. Walking in to that school with shaky hands and a chip on his shoulder. The scholarship kid.
He hadn't known anyone, and was far too nervous to go up and talk to anyone. So he sat alone at lunch, hiding in the bathrooms and under the bleachers. Head down and so deeply ashamed of himself.
May had asked how he was settling in, and Peter got good at lying, something he had never had to do before. He felt guilt at first, but with May mourning the death of Uncle Ben he was set in making her as happy as he possibly could.
As his lying got better, his anxiety got worse. Who knew that repression is bad for your mental health! School had become its own kind of hell, a never-ending supply of blank stares and flash-supplied insults.
Ned joining half-way through the first year was a blessing, one that Peter grabbed on to with both hands, offering the new kid the kindness he was so harshly denied.
Ned - god, Ned.
He had never had a brother, no cousins to speak of either, so Peter had always been pretty good at keeping himself entertained. Comics had become his solace, immersing himself in fantasy worlds where he could hang out with friends - people who just got him.
It was sad, he knows.
Meeting Ned was like a light in the dark, someone to share his extensive comics knowledge with, to build Legos until 3 am in the morning while arguing about the star wars prequels. He finally had a brother.
Did he feel the same about you?
The ugly thoughts were back again, sharp words pressing into his weak points.
Ned Leeds came from a happy family, with his two parents, two little sisters and his lola - a lovely old woman who had embraced Peter with open arms and an open heart, minutes before shoving a heaped plate of lumpia in his hands.
Ned had everything that the selfish part of Peter longed for - a sense of community, more than one person caring if he lived or died. That's not to say that May wasn't great, hell, she was the most important person in Peter's life. He'd take a bullet for her without question.
He knew it was selfish of him to want more, but he couldn't stop. He was greedy. Greedy for connection, for love. Desperate for validation, acceptance...
He cringed as he remembered the first time meeting Mr Stark. The billionaire had been sat on the sofa with May, and Peter had just stared at him like a complete dork. When he finally managed to find his voice, he had stuttered and stumbled over his words before telling him that he 'had homework'.
He groaned aloud. "Stupid."
Who tells their idol that they can't go on a once-in-a-lifetime mission due to homework?
Peter had spent the rest of his time since desperately vying for any scrap of validation, working his ass off whenever he was extended the invite to work in Stark's lab. He was always so scared that everything was going to be ripped away from him in a moments notice.
That had spread into his patrols as Spiderman as well, especially after the whole mess when he was 15. He was constantly working to try and fix the damaged trust and expectations of his mentor, working himself into the ground.
He just wanted -
It was silly really, a stupid thing to want from freaking Iron-Man.
He was brought out of his thoughts as his ears twitched, detecting approaching footsteps. Scrambling backwards into the corner of the small room, he dug his fingers even deeper into the flesh of his arm.
"Is this real?" he breathed, eyes glued to the door.
The footsteps halted, a scuffling noise following.
Breathing picking up, Peter's eyes were glued to the door, still not completely sure if his ears were deceiving him. Mr Stark?
A hissing noise began to fill the room, gas thickening the air. Before Peter could come to terms with what was happening, he had breathed in, mind instantly going woozy. He felt his body crumple in on itself, staying conscious purely due to his powers.
Play dead, kid.
He could almost hear Tony's voice - his body following the order without thinking. Eyes closed, his other senses fought to fill in the gaps of his awareness, though were dampened by the gas.
At once, two masked men stepped in to the room.
"Kid's out like a light. Lets make this quick."
"This doesn't feel right. Are they sure -?"
"Just shut up and do what we were told. I'm not taking my chances."
Peter remained limp as they hoisted him on to a chair, tying ropes around his limbs. As the two left the room, he kept his eyes pressed closed as he subtly tested the strength of the rope.
He could break through it. It would probably take more energy than usual - his head still felt heavy, buzzing like an angry wasps nest - but he could do it.
He paused his movements as new footsteps entered the room, halting just in front of him.
Rustling was followed by methodical metallic clangs, Peter's stomach clenching as he realised the person was laying out instruments on a table.
In a millisecond his thoughts had switched from how to look convincingly knocked out to at what point do I have to give away my secret in order to stay alive?
He was brought out of his thoughts as a searing pain tore through his lower abdomen, eyes flying open with shock.
A woman was stood in front of him, eyes shining with malicious glee as she held a cattleprod against his stomach. Her lips upturned into a sneer as she brought the cattleprod back to her side, head tilting slightly.
"Welcome back."
The smell of singed flesh tickled Peter's nose, fresh tears welling as he battled to regulate his breathing. Panicking would only make the situation worse.
"I'm sure you must be wondering why I've brought you here today," she said, voice cold. "I'm afraid to say that it's all Tony Stark's fault."
"No -"
The word was met with another jab with the cattleprod as she looked down on him disapprovingly.
"He has something of mine, so I took something of his." She hissed, digging the device even deeper into his skin, watching with sick satisfaction as the skin started to sizzle.
Despite himself, Peter cried out.
He went to move, pulling against the restraints with the intent to break through them, panic rising as he failed. The rope burned around his wrists, though the pain was nothing compared to the two fresh burns.
"I dont -" he fought for breath, the vulnerability of his situation finally dawning on him. "Mr Stark - he..."
The woman laughed, fake pity in her voice as she leaned down to his level. "Yes, I suppose it must be confusing for you. You're wondering why your precious Mr Stark hasn't come to save you."
"How - how long -?"
The question escaped him before he could think, internally wincing at the desperation strewn throughout.
"Why, you've been here for almost a week." She shook her head sadly, though couldn't seem to hide her satisfied smile. "I'm starting to think his little intern maybe isn't as important as I was told... why don't we ask him."
She stepped aside, revealing a camera pointed directly at him. He looked at her in horror, finally catching up with what was about to happen to him.
"Say hello to your mentor Peter! We wouldn't want him to miss all the fun now, would we?"
Without even giving him a moment to answer, the cattleprod was once again driven into him, this time snagging in between two of his ribs. His whole body tensed as the electricity sunk into his skin, biting his lip to restrain himself from crying out.
His silence seemed to annoy the woman even more, her displeased huff followed by an even stronger surge of electricity. The staff twisted, pulling at the burned skin.
"Speak, boy."
If there was one thing that Peter took pride in, it was the Parker stubbornness. When he got something into his head, he was going to follow through until the bitter end, and this lady? This lady had pissed him off. He may have lost the strength needed to break free, but his mental fortitude was still somewhat in tact.
So, he clenched his jaw and focused on his breathing, remembering the yoga class he had been forced to take by Black Widow before she had run off to join Team Cap.
Sharp prod. Deep breath. Electrical surge. Dear god, make it stop. Hold. Burned skin ripping off the hot metal. Release breath to the count of five.
Time held no meaning anymore, Peter's reality reduced to pain, relief and waiting.
Again.
And again.
And again.
The waiting was the worst - each pause seemed to drag impossibly longer, his body just beginning to relax before being attacked all over again. Still, he held back as much noise as he possibly could.
Finally, the woman stepped away from him, annoyance clear on her face.
"I guess we'll just have to try again tomorrow, wont we?"
Peter couldn't move, slumped uncomfortably in his chair, eyes following the woman as she walked out of the room, the red light of the camera still blinking.
As soon as the door slammed behind her, Peter dipped his head, doing his best to shield his face from the camera as his tears finally fell.

In Another Universe Pt. 4
Pairing: Ned Leeds x superhero! reader
Summary: Ned's world turns upside down when his new powers bring a stranger to his world. What's more strange is that she knows who he is.
Ned was back in his apartment. Everyone was in the living room while his doppelganger was webbed in his bathroom. (You think there could be a stranger sentence than that, but he begged to differ)
All he was trying to do was make some ramen again for his friends and the girl that came from another dimension.
Peter looked uneasy, probably since he was thinking a million questions at a time.
MJ was more reserved, thinking it wasn't the time to whip out a smart remark.
And then there was you, who sat uncomfortably on the couch.
Ned returned with a tray of ramen, silently giving them to his friends. He sits a seat next to you, as you two haven't said a word to each other since Ned unmasked the Hobgoblin.
You inhaled sharply and looked around the room.
"Okay, all of us have a lot of questions. I think this world's masked hero should take the floor." You said.
Peter's worried state still hasn't changed, but he coughs a bit.
"How-How did you get here?" Peter asks.
"Ned saved me when I was battling Hobgoblin. When I got unconscious, he took me back to your world. We must have not noticed Hobgoblin following us too." You said.
Peter looks over to his friend.
"Dude, that was dangerous. I thought you shouldn't be doing magic outside of your training." Peter says.
Ned knits his eyebrows.
"How was I supposed to know I can open doors to dimensions? I thought I just opened on the other side of town and saw a spider suit. I kept on calling your name but turned out to be her. And don't lecture me on what I can or can't do, Pete. Don't forget how you got rebellious too when you got recognized by Mr. Stark."
Peter felt a bit defensive hearing his old father figure's name, and MJ placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Let's not get off topic here, we still need to clear things up."
Peter relaxes back in his chair as MJ looks over to you.
"i think we need to address the elephant in the bathroom. How did your Ne-"
"Hobgoblin" You corrected.
MJ acknowledged you.
"How did Hobgoblin originate?"
You waivered, scared of the past that still haunted you.
"I was looking for intel about the original Hobgoblin, Roderick Kingsley. He took over the green goblin's old lair and started terrorizing the city. We found him but...
Hobgoblin left his glider that was on self destruct as he took a run for it. You ran towards Ned who was leaning by the wall. You threw your mask away, as your vision was blurred by your tears.
"Ned..." you whispered, trying to control the bleeding.
All he could do was smile at you. Dear God, he was dying but he looked at you so lovingly.
He couldn't speak, he couldn't say his words to you. All he could do was smile and held your face in his hands. He closed his eyes and never opened them again.
"No, no, baby wake up. Please wake up!" You screamed, trying to shake him. You released a blood-curling scream, holding onto him as you mourned the death of your first love.
Suddenly, you brought your head up. You turn around frantically as you spot your bag in the water. You ran to it quickly, finding the serum that the original Green Goblin has used but Kingsley corrected it.
"I'm sorry, but I can't let you go." You said, hoping one day Ned would forgive you.
A tear rolled down your cheek as you held yourself.
"The serum didn't work, and I didn't have time to defuse the bomb. I had to go, the sewer closed in when I got out. No one could find anything there. He was just gone, and I was to blame."
Everyone was silent, as all was heard were your sniffles.
"Then how am I alive?" Ned asks.
You can't look at him, as it only brought more pain.
"A few months later, I turned in Kingsley. Then, there were more sightings of a glider on my patrols. I thought it was a copycat of a copycat, but he started to watch my every move. It wasn't until he caught me off guard and chose to fight. It was like he knew my every move, and the only thing he said to me was... that I left him for dead.
That's when I knew and... I never rested till I could save him one more time."
Peter understood, he can count the many times he wishes he could save the people that he couldn't.
You got up from your seat, trying not to break apart.
"Someone needs to watch over him, I'll take the first shift." You said, heading upstairs.
"Hey..." Ned said, making you whip your head to him.
"Be careful." Ned said, but failed to say what he really meant. You hesitate for a moment, but you still went up in silence.
Ned sat back in his seat, burying his hands in his head.
"My doppleganger is locked up in my bathroom. Can this day get any worse?" Ned said out loud.
As if a cruel joke was made towards Ned, there was a knock on the door.
MJ and Peter jumped upright as well as Ned.
Peter walks over carefully and saw who it was through the peep hole.
"It's Wong!" Peter whispers out loud.
"What?" Ned whisper yells.
"What is he doing here?" MJ asks.
"How should I know?"
"You're his apprentice!" MJ and Peter screamed back.
Peter goes up to Ned, placing his hands on his friend's shoulders.
"We need to tell him what's been happening."
"And risk getting into more trouble?"
"Well what do you think we should do?" Peter raises his voice.
Ned combs his hair with his fingers with frustration.
"Go upstairs and warn that Wong is here, I'll try to kick him out."
The two run upstairs as Ned takes a deep breath before opening the door.
"Master Wong! What brings you here?" Ned asks too enthusiastically.
Wong walks in Ned's apartment, hands behind his back.
"I would have used a portal to meet you but Strange said that's 'rude.' I wanted to check on you and see how you were."
"I am A-Okay! Peachy Keen even!" Ned said.
Wong looks at him seriously, making Ned sweat prefusebly.
"I felt I was too harsh on you the last time we spoke. You're still trying to understand your powers, and I felt my responsibilities as Sorcerer Supreme were affecting my judgements on you."
Ned was a bit shocked from Wong's words.
"Oh, um, thank you Master Wong. You didn't have to come all this way." Ned said, hoping he'd leave.
But instead, Wong sat down on the couch, sighing.
"You know Ned, I see so much of myself in you, and I want to see you in your full potential-"
Suddenly, there was a loud thump you could hear from upstairs.
"What is that?" Wong asks.
"That's my... turtle."
Wong raises an eyebrow.
"It sounds like you have a big turtle." Wong says, not convinced.
"Yeah, let me check on it. I'll be back." Ned said, running upstairs.
He goes at the end of the hall and sees MJ trying to hold down the door.
"What's going on?" Ned whispered screamed.
"Your doppelganger woke up in a rampage! I've been holding down the door while the two try to fight him."
The door almost pried open, but MJ and Ned was able to lean against it with force.
"Ned? What's wrong?" Wong calls from downstairs.
"Nothing! I'll make sure to visit the temple this week!" Ned screamed back.
They both tried to hold back the door but it was no use. The door flew back as well as both of them, where MJ was slammed by the wall and Ned at the end of the hall.
He looks up and see you and Peter trying to fight Hobgoblin off, but he was too strong. Peter turned around and saw MJ hurt, so Hobgoblin used the opportunity and threw both of you off of him.
You landed by Ned, groaning as he heard a crack and saw you holding your waist. Hobgoblin takes you by the collar and lifts you up in the air.
He looks down at Ned, grinning.
"You must have loved having her in your life, but let me tell you... you're better off without her." he said, closing his hand around your neck.
"N...Ned... I'm sorry..." You croaked, before fluttering your eyes as you couldn't stay conscious for long.
"Stop!" Ned yelled out, his hands glowing yellow. A string of light wrapped around Hobgoblin's arm. Ned pulled the rope down as Hobgoblin lost grip of you as you landed on the ground.
Hobgoblin tried to free himself from Ned's enchantment but he couldn't.
"Don't. Touch. Her." Ned gritted before moving his hands in a sphere like motion, using magic to bind Hobgoblin.
Ned catches his breath as he never used that much magic before. He bends down towards you and holds you up, trying to call you by your name.
"Ned."
He looks up and sees Wong standing by the staircase, looking at him and Hobgoblin who was still trying to break his binds. In the corner, Peter hugs MJ as she has a minor cut on her forehead. He repeatedly asks if she's alright, and looks over to Ned with an unsure look.
Wong carefully walks over to Ned who's tearing up as all he could do was hold you against his chest.
"She's- she's not breathing." Ned whispered, slightly sobbing.
"Let's bring them to the Sanctum, I'll call Strange to help." Wong said softly, as Ned's hands were still glowing a light shade of yellow.
Ned nodded slowly as he carefully lifted you. Wong used a portal to surround Hobgoblin as he disappeared from their sight.
Wong also opens a portal to the sanctum as Ned followed quickly.
"We need to follow them." MJ said, grabbing Peter's hand.
"But you're still hurt." Peter said, coming to a halt.
MJ looks back at him.
"For the hundredth time, I'm fine. Ned needs us there, Peter... more than ever."
Peter hesitantly nods his head and follows MJ until the portal closed. As they all arrived in the Sanctum, Wong cleared a table as Ned laid you softly there. He took off his varsity jacket, folding it as he placed it behind your head for comfort.
"Will she be alright?" Ned asks.
"I'm not sure, we need Strange here now." Wong said.
As if on cue, a portal opened and entered Strange looking alarmed.
"What happened?" He asks, nearing the table as you laid unconscious.
"I think she cracked her ribs and her larynx is bruised." Ned replied.
"Who did this?" Strange asked as he started to examine you.
"Um- my uh, me. Well- a different form of me-"
"A doppleganger came to our world, she's also not from here." Wong answered for Ned.
"They have some incredible strength to have done this damage. I need you all to leave so I can focus."
"No, I'm staying with her."
"Look kid, I don't need your youthful incompetence. You need to leave NOW." Strange demanded.
"Ned, let Dr. Strange help her." Peter said carefully, never seeing his friend so upset.
Ned takes one glance at you and stormed away, finding the terrace so he could find some air.
Now alone, he begins to cry, slightly sobbing. With his building rage, he created ball of light and threw it in the air, screaming his frustration.
"You took them here, didn't you?" Wong asks as he stood behind Ned.
The Leeds boy takes a deep breath and looks over to his teacher. He didn't look angry... just worried.
"I didn't mean to. I was trying to practice to open portals to show you that I'm committed to be your apprentice. Then I thought the best way to do it right was if I could focus on something. I was envisioning my dreams and thought of her, I didn't think she'd be real."
"You're dreams weren't fictional. You were able to access the memories of your doppelganger when you were unconscious. It's a rare gift because not everyone can remember different memories of themselves for long periods of time." Wong said.
"But out of all people, why her? Why did I have to come in her world and brought her here?" Ned asks, looking out.
Wong walks up to Ned and joins him.
"Our powers are deeply connected to our emotions. Perhaps when you were opening your portal, you were trying to find someone, because you were alone. And maybe... you knew that she felt alone too."
Ned fell silent. He never realized how his answers were right there in front of him.
"How can I make this right?" Ned asked with his head hanging low.
"To find what you're looking for, you must search the answer within you." Wong imparted before he left Ned.
As he left, he raised his head and clenched his fist.
Turning around, he closed his eyes and focused, creating a portal. He entered into a dark room, located at the bottom of the Sanctum. He walked down the steps and saw Hobgoblin imprisoned in the magic cell.
Ned stopped in his tracks as his eyes turned dark.
"We need to talk."

Match review: Manchester United 1-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Well, that was another classic United vs Wolves match...
"Affectionately" referred to as The Dingles by all the rival Midlands clubs who hate them, Wolverhampton Wanders have made a name for themselves amongst United fans as one of our bogey teams over the past decade. Their preferred combination of a low block, fast wingers, and physical play seem to shake us up every time.
At Old Trafford last night it would have appeared to the uninitiated that Wolves were the title contending hopefuls and United were the relegation risk. The old gold pressed hard, dominated midfield, and seemed relatively unfazed by United's approach.
United had 51% possession at the end of the match but it felt anything but an even match. If Wolves could finish, this would have been an Aston Villa scoreline and the news would be wall-to-wall about how we were stunned in our season opener yet again.
Marcus Rashford was an isolated figure as centre forward, with a tendency to drift left. Alejandro Garnacho showed his lack of experience by floating wherever whenever, with greedy solo play. Antony was similarly poor; capable on the ball, pacey, but with poor decision making hampered by a weak right foot.
If possible, the midfield was worse. Bruno and Mount both pushing into a front 5 left Casemiro isolated in midfield regularly, and while we always had 3v3 minimum such a tactic relies on Casemiro being on his game. He was not. He was diving into tackles and deviating from position like a young player, and it opened us up to counters.
Into the back 4 and Lissandro Martinez was a liability, getting a yellow card and apparently picking up an Achilles niggle that saw him swapped for Victor Lindelof - who was decent but struggled with the Wolves pace.
Aaron Wan Bissaka was good in the final third but useless in midfield or defence. Luke Shaw was drifting into LW or LCM with Casemiro. He needs to stay on the overlap, and ideally with Rashford as a 1-2 duo, because he was ineffective.
Thankfully, one man could be depended on to save the day. Mr Champions League. The Rolls Royce of centre backs. Raphael Varane. He was composed and diligent in defence, and popped up with the winning goal before celebrating like he'd won another major trophy. Attaboy.
Substitutions helped a little; Eriksen sat deeper than Mount to play more playmaker, though his lack of pace didn't improve matters as much as say an Amrabat or Mainoo would have done. Sancho looked sharp and was attempting patterns of play, and Pellistri again showed flashes of quality that - with a more regular run of games - could be the making of him; a direct winger with a low centre of gravity and tight footwork on the ball.
The final moments were the controversial part, with Andre Onana smashing into Sasa Kalajdzic in stoppage time. Wolves fans were incensed, Gary O'Neil got booked for protesting, and Jon Moss admitted after the whistle that he'd gotten it wrong and apologised. In real time, it seemed like a penalty. Watching a replay, I'm less convinced - Onana's eyes are fixed on the ball, and he's jumping in competition with two Wolves players. Plus there are other incidents. Brentford vs Spurs earlier on Sunday had a similar incident - no penalty. Wolves vs Leeds last season, Sa on Kristensen - no penalty.
Wolves have every right to feel hard done by a 1-0 defeat, but they also had every chance to score 5 or 6 goals and control their own fate. United were shit, rode their luck, and came away with a crucial win and a clean sheet. If we can win when we're that bad, that's progress, but we need to make sure playing that bad is just opening day jitters and not a trend going forward into September, else it'll be a battle for top half, not top 5.
