Multiplicity of Shadows
In a harrowing dance of survival and sanity, brilliant scientist Richard must outsmart and overcome a growing army of his own clones, each one more sinister than the last, unleashed by an invention that spiraled beyond his control
Chapter 1: “The Birth of Prometheus” In the stillness of the night, the only sound was the rhythmic hum of machinery. The laboratory, a converted Victorian mansion set against a backdrop of towering oaks, had been Dr. Richard Halley’s sanctuary for the better part of a decade. Nestled on a hill overlooking the sleeping town of South Haven, it was here that he embarked on a journey that would…

I think the problem is I wanted to bring a “fuck around and find out” energy into Veilguard that the narrative really didn’t want me to explore :/

i'll never get tired of people kicking altair while he's down - this guy scattered flags around acre just to laugh as the once great altair is forced to do such a menial task and he has every right - altair doesn't even recognize him even though they grew up together ;_;

Alastor's Furby Organ - Fic Prompt
Vox is attempting to sell the benefits of advancing technology to Alastor for the umpteenth time, either genuinely or patronizingly, when Alastor sees it.
The second greatest piece of technology he's ever laid eyes on.
He interrupts Vox in the middle of his tirade and zips up to it and is absolutely tickled pink by its creepiness and charming exterior.
Alastor, trying not to sound excited: And what's this delightful little thing?
Vox: Oh that's a Furby, a creepy kids toy up top, we're thinking of scrapping it actually-
Alastor: Oh? Then maybe I can take them off your hands.
Time skip to a few months later, Alastor and Vox are having another battle (duet) when Alastor manifests a new instrument Vox has never seen him play before made up of-
Oh no. no. no. nononono. NO.
A fucking Furby Organ!?

hey you guys know that even if the people inside that submersible are rich billionaires, dying in that metal tube at the bottom of the ocean is a horrific way to die right. like. yeah stupid choices were made by the people in there signing off on a waiver that says the sub is not approved by anyone and they could die. but it’s the fault of OceanGate for knowingly putting people into a Home Depot DIY sub rigged up with an Xbox controller all to make a profit on people’s curiosity.

"Er..." Draco jerked his head at Potter and then leaned toward Millicent and said, "I need to talk to you in private" "I'm busy." Millicent grabbed Potter's shirt and shook him a little, as though to make her point. Potter looked scandalised and tried to free himself by bending Millicent fingers backward, but she didn't appear to notice. "Right." Draco frowned and approached slowly; if his newly formed plan failed to work, perhaps Potter and he could take Millicent together. "About that, Millie," Draco whispered. "You do know that Pansy lied? She only sent you here so she could take a certain item from your trunk." Millicent's free hand shot out to grab Draco's collar. "What item?" she raged, pulling Draco uncomfortably closer. "The one that... hums." Millicent's jaw dropped. "That little... She can't... That's just... Honestly!" She paused, looking shifty. "Not that I own anything that... hums." "Of course not!" Draco said quickly. Millicent's grip on his collar was becoming too tight; he was running out of air. "She's going through your belongings, though. Even as we speak." "I'll kill her," Millicent said, eyes narrowing. For a moment, Draco felt a little guilty. Sending Millie after Pansy was perhaps a little bit evil. But, on the other hand, Pansy had sent Millie after Potter, so as far as Draco was concerned it was only fair she felt Millie's wrath.

FOR : open ! LOCATION : bench, not far from red creek hospital.
the emergency room was always something of a toss-up. either there's whining children or elders, or a catastrophic case. one or the other, never the middle. most ruckus of the day has been a check - in for a broken leg potential ; skin angry with the pressure of a bruise. nothing out of the ordinary. though, if mak can remember, they'd had a few intakes surrounding the ... anxiety surrounding red creek. red creek. dead creek. whining elders like they'd thought — distraught and heart racing high enough to turn over a horse. well, maybe not a horse, but close enough. they've mostly detached themselves from the news, the rambling of the town, but of course its brought to their fucking doorstep. like everything in their life. tossed in, locked and keyed. learn to live with it, maksym! grin and bear it! they want out of this fucking graveyard. it's moments like this in their lonesome it weighs on their chest ; anvil, stack of bricks. a concrete object instead of a desire. the same sort of weight is what keeps them here, too.
they aren't necessarily aware when someone sits next to them. in fact, at first they don't acknowledge them at all. when they do, it's out of their peripherals and then entirely all at once. " what, looking for company or just couldn't walk ten steps down? " a grating tone to their voice ; unnecessary, but if they'd wanted a little party they'd have trekked it down to redstone. the cafe. a heavy sigh escapes. " couldn't even offer a hello either, huh? "

Me hearing people talk about the Titan submersible as if this wasn’t something that could be avoided and how it’s the price of innovation for the advancement of science

I know it’s genuinely not his fault since there’s other unforeseen factors, but watching the recent jjk episode really brings to light the unintended consequences of megumi doing literally anything in the manga. Saves yuuji—>sukuna is reincarnated. Summons Mahoraga—>the city is destroyed by sukuna to nullify it. Stays with yuuji in the culling games—>sukuna takes over megumi’s body and kills people he loves. Doesn’t consider tsumiki being a reincarnated sorcerer—>sister dies

Can I talk about Gale in my bg3 playthrough? I'm gunna talk about Gale in my playthrough.
My read on Gale during his time following Ronan around is that he's pining to all hell. Mega pining. Pining so hard it SUCKS.
At the start, its all fun and trying not to die with the cleric who is quiet and stoic and gruff. They gather their little band of merry men and women, and its clear there's a more calculating, pragmatic side to Ronan in the way he talks his way out of issues. There's a softer side to him as well in how he is generally willing to help those in need and in how he acts when the day is done, his care, eagerness to listen, curiosity, and healing touch hard to miss even under the usual cold and arrogant air he has about him.
They become fast friends, Ronan defers to him the most when coming up with a plan or when needing a different point of view, and Gale enjoys the whole of him. There's a lot of him to enjoy. Aesthetically. He's rather fetching for a dragonborn in his face and his form and the rumble of a voice cannot be understated.
But Gale wouldn't. No, he's still got Mystra to win back. He's not looking for anything else with a goddess' favor is on the line. He's not ready to give that up-
And then the magic lessons happen. And he's flattered, really, truly, that Ronan would conjure up such...creative images of them together. And then show them to Gale. How very bold of him.
As flattered as he is and how those fantasies stick with him, Gale still wouldn't. He can appreciate from a distance. Enjoy his new friendship but he wouldn't...
Would he? Ronan's so... nice under the impatient, grumpy facade and he's saved Gale from some rather sticky situations, held his hand as he healed grievous wounds, hugged him in their victories. He's a dedicated ally and friend and one could imagine it would not change as a lover. Maybe when Gale is ready, maybe if he can't get Mystra back, maybe he could, perhaps-
Oh. Astarion got there first. It's a crushing blow to his confidence, further compounded when at the party, Ronan's spending it with the vampire as well. Not like it could've happened between them anyways, that Ronan would have wanted anything between them considering the orb and...everything.
He has to make peace with that. Accept that. It's fine, of course. Better a friend had than nothing at all and what a friend he's found in Ronan with is easy affection and his enthusiastic praise and his trust and his loyalty and how when Gale learns of Mystra's plan to have him sacrifice himself, Ronan is immediately and unwaveringly stubbornly certain there's another way, has to be another way, 'I'll not see you go this way'-
And he still thinks about the magic lessons. And enjoys the way Ronan listens to him. Laughs with him. Embraces him. Holds him, lingers around him at times. And the way he still looks at him at others.
Gale also sees how he looks at Astarion. How they keep getting closer, and closer until finally something changes and they're truly together. And he's touching Astarion more and their spending nights sleeping together and Ronan is so open with his adoration and Gale
He could've had that. Should have had all of that. Why didn't he take it when he could've, when he still had a chance? Why did he blow it off, wait too long only for it to pass him by?
For what? To win back favor with a goddess that wants him dead? Why was he chasing dreams of so much more than him when something real that was right there? When he could have had the adoration and the loyalty and the passion and the love of someone right in front of him?
It haunts him. Gale's happy for his friends and dedicated to their cause, but by the gods, does he regret. Up until the final fight and the celebration after and the parting of ways and even six months later when he sees Ronan again and hugs him like he might die if he doesn't.
Ronan holds him, squeezes him tight, unfathomably warm and strong around him as he whispers in Gale's ear that he missed him. And every dulled ache, every ember burning low flares back up as they part and Ronan gives him that soft, glowing smile and maybe he has ulterior motives when he invites his old friend back to his tower for a night of dinner and talking.
