When the ice cream came into being, right from then, the most difficult task was to hold the ice cream and keep it safe from melting. As the demand for ice-creams is getting higher day by day, the competition also has become strict. All the ice-cream sellers are now finding ways to create their Custom Cone Sleeves.

The Uber screeches to a halt outside the fortress-like walls of the Rooks' practice facility, and I scramble out clutching my visitor's pass. After a few tense moments convincing the stone-faced security guard I'm not a crazed fan, the gates swing open. I stride up to the front doors, emblazoned with the iconic blood-red chess piece flanked by two onyx knights - the Santa Monica Rooks logo.
Though they only joined the NHL a couple years back, the scrappy expansion team has already captured the hearts of LA hockey fans - including my dad, former assistant coach for the Kings. When the Rooks came calling, offering him the head coach position, we were over the moon. Now I never miss a game even if it’s just on the TV.  I know the players by name, the chants by heart. This team is family.
And today, I got a glimpse behind the curtain.
The frosty air envelops me as soon as I step foot in the rink, sending a shiver down my spine despite my long sleeves. I cross my arms, bracing against the chill. As the team takes the ice to warm up, my eyes follow their every move with a nostalgic fondness. The sound of skates carving into the fresh sheet, the slap of pucks hitting boards - it all washes over me like a warm blanket. I let out a contented sigh, transported back to simpler times when I would gaze upon this familiar scene as a wide-eyed kid.
The players glide across the ice, circling each other in a blur of black and red during their warm-up laps. Legs churned in rhythmic strides as they maneuvered the puck through the cones. The only sounds were blades carving arcs and pucks slapping plastic. Every movement was executed with precision—their concentration evident as they tuned out the world, zeroed in on their drills. At the other end, some stretch and joke around, loose and relaxed. The heavy guitar riffs of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" blast through the speakers—dad's preference, as always. I can't help but smile. This ice, this team, this music...it all feels like home.
From my spot high in the stands, I admire my dad's confident presence on the bench, his gaze intent as he surveys the players before him. Wearing the team's fleece zip up over his well-muscled frame, the dark fabric accentuating his rugged features. A beanie sat jauntily atop his artfully graying locks, complementing his trademark goatee, still as impeccably groomed as ever. He exuded an air of casual confidence - the easy charisma of a man who gets things done with style. Arms folded, he exchanges nods with Jack, leaning in to examine the clipboard that holds the secrets to today's strategy. Never did make it to the big leagues, but he just loved the chess match, the cat and mouse of setting up the perfect play. The thrill of that last second stretch pass springing the winger for a breakaway. The subtle joking with the refs, giving as good as he got. Win or lose, we lived for that locker room camaraderie. Yeah, he was born to bleed the colors, even if the pros weren't in the cards.
I make my way down towards the gleaming glass, the barrier between me and the warriors below, scanning the colorful jerseys for familiar names. There's number 42, Sanchez, the promising new center we acquired in the off-season. And McClain, number 18, our stalwart in goal, broad-shouldered whether in pads or street clothes.
Two skilled players glided smoothly across the ice, giving each other a friendly shoulder nudge and helmet tap as brothers in arms. Ruffilo sported jersey #22, zipping down the right wing with nimble speed and agility, always quick to jump on a scoring chance. Alongside him skated Sebastian, wearing #13. As right defenseman, he partnered on the blueline with the venerable Karlsson (#62). Together they formed the league's dream defensive pairing, scouted eagerly by rival teams year after year, yet steadfastly loyal to their coach through it all.
"Sarah!" My dad's voice thunders across the rink, making me jolt in surprise. I bolt toward him, nearly slipping over my feet in my excitement. Jack grabs my arm to steady me as we scramble into the box where Dad waits with open arms. I fling myself at him, breathing in the comforting scents of cinnamon and Old Spice that mean home. Though it's been months, as soon as his strong arms fold around me, no time has passed at all. I cling to him, my protector and hero, never wanting to let go.
“You're just in time,” he says with a glint in his eye. ‘We were just about to do a practice run. See how the team looks for the game tomorrow night.”
The sharp trill of the coach's whistle pierces the rink, all eyes snapping to attention. "Alright team, gather round!" Jack bellows, his commanding voice echoing off the cold walls. "We've got a big game tomorrow and it's time to show me what you've got!"
The players scramble into position with new urgency, skates carving trenches into the ice. McClain slams into the net, face set with determination. Sanders follows suit on the opposite end, glove hand twitching with anticipation. Sebastian and Karlsson take their posts, sticks poised for battle.
"Let's run this play again - I want to see crisp passes and quick shots. And remember..." Jack pauses, scanning the tense faces around him. "Leave it all on the ice."
He blows the whistle once more. A flurry of movement erupts as the puck drops, skates tearing over the frozen surface. Shouts fill the frigid air as the team throws themselves into their practice, driven by the coach's steely presence and the promise of tomorrow's game.
The players are focused as they glide across the ice, passing the puck back and forth. Karlsson taps his stick, signaling to Sebastian. They move into position, ready to intercept the other team's attack. The center charges towards the goal, but Karlsson swoops in, poking the puck away. It slides to Sebastian who spins and dishes it off to Sanchez. Sanchez pivots and streaks towards the other end, driving for a counterattack. The scrimmage is intense as the teammates coordinate, aiming to sharpen their skills. Their precise passes and defensive maneuvers showcase their dedication during this hard-fought practice.
Sanchez fires a blistering shot that beats Sanders, the puck rocketing into the net. Sanchez triumphantly throws his stick skyward, but Coach quickly shoots him a warning glare - "One goal does not win a game." As Sanchez skates by, his piercing hazel eyes scan over me for a brief minute, before nodding to my dad. All business, Coach commands respect on the ice. My gaze follows him to position, where I notice Sebastian also watching from his position, momentarily distracted until Karlsson’s stick slap grabs his attention. The intensity radiates as both teams bear down, hungry for the next goal.
The players scramble up and down the ice, sticks clacking as they chase the puck. "Stay in your lane, winger!" Coach bellows, face red. "Defense, keep that blue line secure!" Sanchez barrels through, shoving past his own teammates to get to the net. Coach fumes. That hothead is sparking fights even among his own guys. "Sanchez! Cool it or you're benched!" Coach yells. Sanchez seethes, eyes blazing beneath his helmet. That punk better listen, or this practice will get out of control fast.
Sebastian swoops in and makes a clutch block, gliding on his skates backwards around the net and back into position as smooth as butter. Celebrating with a hearty stick-slap with Karlsson as they criss-cross on their way back to their spots. Just another day at the rink for these puck-stopping pros.
“Karlsson  and Sebastian are the league's top players right now,” my dad says, gesturing to the dynamic duo. “I’m fortunate to have them both.”
He goes on to provide insight into each player. Karlsson, a skilled Swede, transferred here a year ago and immediately found chemistry with Sebastian. As we discuss the roster, my dad analyzes each player's strengths and weaknesses. Ruffilo, for example, is quick and agile but weaker skating left. Sanchez has blazing speed but his ego can be a liability. Meanwhile, Sanders rarely sees ice time as McClain's backup. He remains quiet and reserved as a result.
My dad's wealth of knowledge about the team is clear as he gives me an in-depth scouting report on the players - their stats, records, backgrounds, and areas for improvement. His insightful descriptions provide a comprehensive view of the roster.
The boys look exhausted as they skate back to the bench, chests heaving as they try to catch their breath. Jack blows the whistle, signaling the end of the scrimmage. I take in their flushed cheeks and panting faces glistening with sweat. Sanders' sandy blonde hair is matted to his forehead, hazel eyes glazed over with fatigue. Sanchez wipes his brow, dark hair slick against his olive skin that contrasts sharply with his black and red jersey. Golden eyes meet mine briefly before glancing away. McClain rakes a hand through his unruly copper curls, mopped haphazardly on his head. Forest green eyes are ringed with dark circles beneath a smattering of freckles on his cheeks.
Ruffilo and Karlsson skate over to the bench, exhausted. Ruffilo’s shoulder-length black hair, normally pulled back in a tidy bun, is a mess of flyaways and frizz from his helmet. His piercing blue eyes stand out against his tan, sweaty face. Karlsson tosses his helmet aside, releasing his ash blonde hair which is only half pulled back after a grueling workout. Sweat drips down his forehead as he tries to catch his breath.
i'm so caught up staring at the team that I don't even notice Sebastian glide up next to me. He stops hard, ice shavings dancing around his skates. With his helmet off, I finally get a good look at his face. His dark brown hair falls loosely across his cheeks. His eyes are a soft brown too, and his slender nose and exotic bone structure give him an alluring look I can't place. His full lips are parted as he catches his breath, a barely-there mustache and goatee framing them. I'm transfixed, taking in every detail of his handsome face. Hockey has never been so distracting.
"Alright boys, tomorrow we face the toughest team in the league. They've got size, they've got skill. But you know what we've got? Heart. More heart than any team out there. When you step on that ice tomorrow, I want you to remember who we are. We're the Rooks. We never back down from a challenge. We never give up when things get tough. We pour our souls into this game because we love it. We play for each other, as brothers. Tomorrow when that puck drops, I want you to leave it all out there. Skate hard. Hit hard. Play your hearts out, men. I believe in each and every one of you. Now hit the showers and I will see you bright and early tomorrow."
The players glided by, tapping fists with my dad as they headed off the ice. But my eyes stayed locked on Sebastian. He leaned off the boards and skated backward, gaze still holding mine even as he spun and drifted after his teammates toward the locker room. There was something magnetic about him - an intensity that pulled me in and wouldn't let go.
My dad wrapped his strong arm around my shoulders, pulling me in close. "What do ya say we grab some dinner and chat?" he asked with a smile. I clung to his waist as we strolled out of the chilly rink, past the rows of locker rooms, to his cozy office. He rifled through papers on his cluttered desk, gathering his things before we headed out.
"Dad, why'd you want me to come down here today?" I asked. "You said you had something important to tell me."
He paused, keys in hand. "Let's talk over dinner," he replied, his eyes downcast.
I pressed further. "Why not now? Just tell me."
At that, my dad's shoulders slumped. His face fell. I knew then that this was big news - maybe as big as when he and Mom divorced.
"Well," he began slowly, "Jack's niece is going on maternity leave. We had another one lined up, but he took a position elsewhere. We're in a real bind trying to find a replacement nurse on such short notice to help care for the players."
He looked at me hopefully. I could tell this was difficult for him to ask, but nurse or not, I was ready to support my dad no matter what.

Noah's POV
The pads hit the floor with a thud as I stumbled back to the locker room, feeling about as graceful as a newborn giraffe. The boys were already going on about the coach's daughter, the new eye candy on the bench. Fiery red hair that melted into platinum strands, curves that went on for days - she had the boys drooling before she even opened her mouth.
"Dibs!" Sanders called out, grinning. "Maybe she can give me some one-on-one coaching after practice."
"You couldn't catch her if she was standing still, man," Nick laughed, peeling off his sweaty jersey.
"Let McClain take a shot," Pierce chuckled. "Red on red - I like those odds."
McClain just smiled and tossed his gear in his locker. Yeah, she was a distraction all right. Hard not to stare when she was sitting there looking like that. Had the boys fumbling more than usual out there today. But I gotta keep my focus. Eyes on the puck at all times, even with a smokeshow like her watching from the stands.
I fling my stick and helmet into my locker, peeling off my sweaty jersey and pads. Jolly plops down on the bench behind me, the team still chattering away about her.
"You know how it is, bro. The ladies, they always want a piece of the Jolly." He waggles his eyebrows and flexes, his accent making it sound more ridiculous.
I grab my towel and crack it against his back. "Yeah, yeah, keep dreamin' there, stud."
We were all a bunch of goofs when Naomi first started working here, even though she was Jack's niece. We'd give her a hard time and chirp her whenever we got the chance. But once we found out she was married and had been around for a few months, we eased off and let her be. I was sure this chick would be the same, if she stuck around. She didn’t seem like the hockey type.
The steam embraces me as I step into the showers, washing the sweat from my aching body. But the heat isn't enough to penetrate my sore muscles, throbbing from another grueling practice. My mind races, already on the ice for tomorrow's season opener on home ice. I know once I'm out there, stick in hand, the roar of the crowd drowning everything else out, the nerves will fade away. But right now, they're killing me. I close my eyes, let the hot water massage my shoulders, and visualize our victory.
We were so close last season - just two wins away. But this year, this is our year. I'm not settling for anything less.
That is, as long as Sanchez can get his head in the game. Don't get me wrong, the guy's got skills. But that ego of his just grinds my gears, you know? He's always showboating out on the ice when he should be focusing on the play.
It's gonna cause problems, I just know it. I gotta get him to tone it down and be a team player. Otherwise we can kiss that cup goodbye again. And I'll be damned if I let that happen. This is our time. I can taste it.
Nothing can distract me from that, not even her.

AU-gust, Day 8: Robots and Androids
WARNING: THIS IS A CROSSOVER WITH FNAF. (Listen, I told you things were about to get weird so please fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna be a wild ride 🩷)
“This might be the stupidest job we’ve ever had.”
“Are you kidding?” Robin yelled from across their homey two-bedroom. “These outfits are so much better than Scoops!”
“First of all, that’s saying literally nothing, and second of all, you’re not the one wearing safety cone orange!” Stevie yelled back as she examined her reflection in the mirror. Her new work uniform consisted of a long-sleeved bright-orange shirt with the Fazbear Entertainment logo in bright blue on her front breast pocket, paired with fitted black trousers that had bright orange piping running up and down the edge.
(Whomever worked in the staff uniform design department of Fazbear Entertainment definitely had it out for her.)
“Oh shut up, that color looks great on you,” Robin retorted as she strolled into Stevie’s bedroom. She was dressed in the Roxanne Wolf version of her outfit – lilac and lime green which was so, so much cuter in Stevie’s opinion. “Besides, you have those lightning bolt earrings from our Bowie party that match perfectly.”
Stevie sighed and started flipping through her jewelry box. “Ugh, I guess. I still don’t know why we took this gig though.”
“You mean aside from the fact that Argyle got us these jobs in a literal day?”
“Uh, yeah, Robin! We’re working at the robot capital of the world and you hate robots.”
“Okay, first of all the Glamrocks aren’t robots, they’re animatronics,” Robin started numbering off on her fingers. “Secondly, Roxanne Wolf is a lesbian icon to whom I owe my allegiance and I see that eye-roll Stephanie Harrington, don’t give me that sass, and thirdly we’re working in the gift shop, we’ll, like, never see them in person.”
“Famous last words,” Stevie muttered, but Robin was already speeding into the hallway.
“Now stop stalling, dingus, it’s time to hit the Pizzaplex!”
/////
Stevie had to begrudgingly admit that working at Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex wasn’t the worst job in the entire world. She got to spend all day with Robin (and make faces with her behind the backs of the really crazy parents) while staying warm, dry and ice-cream free. Which, speaking of, they also got free food with every shift which meant lunch and/or dinner breaks with Argyle (who worked in Chica’s Pizzaria and loved it, the maniac) and that was awesome.
(It was really hard to keep track of everyone now that they’d all been relocated from Hawkins and spread across the state of California; if Stevie thought about it too much, she’d get emotional, so she tried not to think about it.
Or about the fact that Eddie hadn’t texted her in a few weeks.)
Stevie even got to pick-up a few overtime shifts in the daycare on her off days which, hey, the faster she makes money, the faster she can get to cosmetology school.
(Did she have problems with the fact she was sharing babysitting duties with a glorified robot? Not really.
Did she understand how the toddlers weren’t scared by Eclipse when he was in his Moon phase? No, not even a little bit, that fucker was creepy.)
That didn’t mean there weren’t drawbacks to her job, of course. She and Robin averaged about twenty upset and entitled parental encounters daily combined, not to mention all of the crying children who were either upset that they weren’t getting exactly what they wanted or were upset that they weren’t getting what they wanted fast enough. Their all-time high of screaming kids was 41 and they drank a fuck ton of wine that night.
But the biggest problem about working at Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex? Those goddamn animatronics. And not because Stevie was scared of them, oh no, no, it was because Robin was full of shit. Anytime one of the Glamrocks came within twenty feet of the gift shop she ducked for cover, and if it was Roxy? She was useless for a solid fifteen minutes afterwards every single time.
(“I think this officially qualifies you as a furry,” Stevie said after one particularly close encounter. Roxy had stopped to take pictures in front of the doorway and Robin had catapulted herself through the Montgomery Gator sweatshirt rack and crashed into Roxy’s plushie display and got absolutely buried.
“It really shouldn’t be that big of a surprise, Robs, this is how you always act when a pretty girl comes around - ”
“Stevie? Shut. Up.”)
It wouldn’t have been a problem if Robin and Stevie had remained posted at the gift shop, but no, the gods forever frowned upon Stephanie Harrington.
/////
“Harrington!” Her manager Roger barked as he power-walked past her, three weeks into her tenure at the Pizzaplex. “We’re running low on Freddy plushies out front, so I’m going to need you to go and get the next shipment from storage. Here,” he said, tossing her a new keycard that she (barely) managed to catch. “Second floor storage area behind Fazer Blast. There should be a dolly there for you to use. Thanks!” Roger hollered, and then he was off running after a mop-bot that was spreading paint around in the main atrium.
Stevie turned to look at Robin who was already shaking her head. “Nope, no way.”
“Aww c’mon Robin, please? I always go with you when we walk around the Pizzaplex.”
Robin rolled her eyes and was about to reply when the melodic voice of Roxanne Wolf echoed throughout the plaza. “Thank you, I am the best,” the Glamrock crooned, and Robin flushed bright red and threw herself into the gift shop.
Welp. Looks like Stevie was going to have to handle this solo.
/////
Question, why was Stevie handling this solo again? Because she’d passed about twenty janitorial bots on her way to the storage area, all of whom were just scooting around with nothing to do.
Whatever.
There was a dolly back in the (dark and creepy) storage room, so she loaded up a brand new box of Freddy Fazbear plushies and made her way to the main elevator bank.
“Sorry, excuse me, pardon me,” she said on repeat as she walked past scores of rowdy children and their stressed parents. As she rounded the corner, she saw the elevator doors begin to close and she moved faster.
“Please hold!” She yelled, and the elevator doors stopped shutting. “Shit, thank you,” Stevie gasped as she rolled the cart in and wiped her eyes.
“No problem, superstar!”
Fuck.
Stevie whipped around to look at the other occupant of the elevator and – yep, it was the man (err, orange bear) himself, all 6’3” of animatronic rockstar Freddy Fazbear gazed down at her, his signature smile on his perfectly polished face.
Stevie barely noticed the elevator doors slide shut behind them, barely heard the tinny elevator music play as they started their descent.
“You’re - ”
“I’m Freddy Fazbear, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” the animatronic intoned.
“Hi, yeah. I’m - ”
“Stephanie Harrington,” he interrupted, his eyes scanning her form with a bluish light. “You work in the gift shop.”
“How did you - ”
“I have access to the Pizzaplex’s employee directory. For security concerns.”
“Oh. Cool.”
She stood and stared at the bear, who stood and stared back at her. And then wiggled his ears.
(It was kind of cute.)
“Well, I - ”
The elevator suddenly screeched to a halt and Stevie barely managed to stop herself from tumbling to the ground – mainly because a pair of oversized orange paws gently caught her.
“We’re sorry,” an automated voice spoke over the elevator intercom, “but it appears that our elevators are experiencing a technical difficulty. Please remain calm and our staff will be with you shortly.”
Stevie groaned, slumping back against those orange paws. “Oh, great.”
“Not to worry, superstar!” Freddy said, and Stevie barely suppressed her flinch at his booming voice. “Our staff is highly qualified and perfectly capable of fixing any and all technical issues that may take place at the Pizzaplex. We will be out of here in no time!”
(Stevie had seen how long it took the staffbots to fix the soda fountain when it exploded; she didn’t share Freddy’s faith in this at all.)
“Good, glad to hear it,” she replied drily. She stood up and waved Freddy’s hands away (or, err, paws. His paws. Paws that followed her to make sure she wouldn’t fall again which wasn’t sweet, for fuck’s sake!)
“Well, Stephanie, how about we play a game?” Freddy asked as she Stevie slumped against the far wall. (No way she was going to stand for this.)
“Sure, Freddy. What game do you wanna play?”
Freddy’s ears wiggled again as he hummed (or made a humming sound; he couldn’t actually hum, could he?) “How about we play the Question Game? I always like to learn more about my friends!”
Aww, he thought they were friends. (Or he was programmed to say that, or think they were friends? Just how intelligent were these things? She should text Dustin later on and ask what he knew about Fazbear Entertainment.)
Still, Freddy continued to smile as he waited for her reply and yeah, okay, that was cute. “Sure, Freddy,” Stevie sighed, but she made sure to smile back at him. “Let’s play the Question Game.”
/////
They were in the elevator for a total of forty-five minutes, which gave Freddy and Stevie plenty of time to play the Question Game. Stevie learned all about Freddy’s favorite things to do at the Pizzaplex (play music with his friends, try to beat his old high score in Fazer Blast, dance at DJ Music Man’s shows whenever he had the chance), his best friend (Bonnie, who had been banged up pretty badly and was getting fixed somewhere offsite), his other best friend (Chica, they liked to do Jazzercise together), and his favorite thing to do in his free time (which was read, apparently? She wasn’t sure how the animatronic bear got his hands on copies of “the classics” and honestly wouldn’t have pegged him as a Dostoevsky fan but hey, apparently even orange animatronic bears can have depth?)
In turn, Stevie told him about her favorite things to do at the Pizzaplex (visit Argyle at Chica’s Pizzaria, laugh at Robin when she hid from Roxy), her best friend (Robin, who worked with her in the gift shop), her other best friends (Argyle and Nancy and Eddie and Jonathan and Chrissy), her family (well, Dustin and the Hopper-Byers’ at least), and her favorite thing to do in her free time (watch movies with Robin, which then led into a long conversation about what movies she’d seen and would recommend because while Freddy knows about movies he hasn’t seen a whole lot of them).
He also asked her questions about the world outside the Pizzaplex: where she was born (Hawkins), why she moved from Hawkins (an earthquake, which was the official cover story), what her dream job was (being a hairdresser, at which point Freddy said she should talk to Roxy and start training at her salon which was, again, very cute), and all about the places she’d seen and where she wanted to go next.
(“Probably down to Malibu,” she’d said, lost in thought. “I’d like to see those beaches. What about you, is there somewhere you’d like to go?”
“I – well.” Freddy paused, and for the first time, he appeared troubled. “I cannot leave the Pizzaplex.”
“Oh,” Stevie murmured and wow, that really fucking sucked, didn’t it? Sure, she was talking to a robot bear who was literally built to be children’s entertainment but he wasn’t really feeling like just a robot bear anymore, especially the more they talked and played the Question Game. And this might have been one really, really long con or programming thing but – what if it wasn’t? What if he was fully intelligent and he was really stuck here?
Like El and the lab, she thought, and then she was barely able to stop herself from tearing up.
“But if I could go somewhere else,” Freddy continued, unaware of Stevie’s inner turmoil, “I would also probably choose to go to the beach. I would like to see the sun on the water,” he finished quietly.)
Stevie didn’t know what to say, but thankfully the elevator started up again, so she was spared any sort of deeper introspection.
“See?” Freddy said, no trace of sadness in his voice at all, like it had never been there. “Good as new.”
“Yeah, you were right about that,” Stevie said, pushing herself to her feet. It was a little tricky to do so while the elevator was moving, but Freddy held out his hand and she grabbed hold without a second thought. “Thanks, Freddy.”
“You’re welcome, superstar,” Freddy replied with an ear wiggle. “Can I assist you with transporting your cart to the gift shop?”
Stevie grinned. “You know what, Freddy? That would be great.”
/////
“EVIL,” Robin hissed from behind the sales counter, her white knuckles gripping onto the laminated wood for dear life. “You are evil.”
“Hmm, what was that?” Stevie asked as she watched Freddy unbox (and gently stack) the plushies on the main console table. “I can’t hear you, Robin.”
Robin hissed an unintelligible reply but Stevie ignored her, watching instead as Freddy stepped back and clapped his hands together. “Perfect!” He turned and alighted that bright electronic smile towards Stevie. “Thank you for letting me help, superstar.”
“No, thank you for helping, Freddy. Come back and visit any time, you hear?”
“Absolutely.”
Stevie waited for Freddy to leave, but he didn’t; he just stood there and stared at her, letting the seconds pass them by.
“Uh, Freddy, sir?” An acne-riddled teen with “Benny” on his nametag cleared his throat. “We need you in Superstar Row for some Meet and Greets.”
“Oh, yes,” Freddy replied, like he wasn’t thinking, like he’d forgotten.
(He was still looking at Stevie.)
“It was nice talking with you, Stephanie,” he finally said, and with one final wave he thundered out of the gift shop, Benny at his heels.
Stevie turned to look at Robin, who was looking at her with confusion. “Huh.”
“Huh,” Stevie repeated, and she could practically feel herself blush the longer that Robin looked at her. Robin who, of course, sensed a perfect opportunity for revenge.
Robin who suddenly had a shit-eating grin on her face. “You know, I think that officially qualifies you as a furry, dingus.”
“Oh, fuck off, Robin.”

Character Intro: Morá (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Baby Girl by her mother
Age- 15 (immortal)
Location- Hearthwood neighborhood, New Olympus
Personality- She's a true individualist! Despite her naivete, she's caring, playful, intuitive, & determined. While others may think of certain "traits" as hindrances or something to overcome, she views them as her strengths.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of babies & children, her other powers/abilities include limited vitakinesis (healing), being able to read babies and small childrens' thoughts (as well as telekinetically being able to communicate with them), inducing an illusion of renewed youth or energy in a person temporarily, and can make others fall asleep temporarily by singing a lullaby.
It's often said that she gives off a scent of soap & warm milk- a similar scent to that of a newborn baby.
Morá lives with her mom Thilasmós (goddess of nursing) in a large farmhouse style home in the Hearthwood neighborhood. They own a wide array of cuddly pets like cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, a few pot bellied piglets, & three new recently aquired bearded dragons. Her bedroom has a kidcore aesthetic with the walls being painted in bright colors. Lots of various toys & stuffed animals lie on top of her bed. There's a second closet that's filled with other various toys (like dolls), puzzles, crayons, paints, markers, board games, crafts, & coloring books.
Notable physical features include her "babyface" with a deep dimple on each of her cheeks.
She has a naturally high pitched voice.
Morá will often wear her long hair in ultra high ponytails, buns, and pigtails. She'll aslo compliment her hair with hair accessories like clips, barettes, hair bows, rhinestone hair stickers, & colorful clip-on extensions. Morá loves using the Olmorfia cotton candy scented hairspray.
Her personal fashion style is also related to the kidcore aesthetic- different fabrics/materials, bold & pastel colors and patterns, high tops, denim overalls, baggy high waisted jeans, puffy sleeves, and baseball tees. Morá's favorite fashion brand Kaleidoscope Lab contains many of these elements!
One of Morá's favorite things that she likes to use is her deep amaranth colored weighted blanket gifted to her by Hestia (goddess of the hearth). When she's feeling sad or having a bad day, she finds comfort in her blanket while her mom massages her scalp.
A go-to drink for her is fruit punch. She also likes olympian sized soda floats & rainbow slushies from The Frozen Spoon, cola, lemonade, iced tea, orange juice, and lychee juice. Her usual from The Roasted Bean is an olympian sized iced mocha frappuccino with extra whipped cream.
Some of her favorite things to eat for breakfast include Golden Kreme Crunch cereal, chocolate chip pancakes (drizzled in chocolate syrup), eggs (sunny side up), hash browns, kale-banana yogurt, & her ultimate favorite- her mom's breakfast pizza (topped with scrambled eggs, mozzerella cheese, sausage, sausage gravy, and bacon).
Morá cries every time a foster child leaves her & her mom. She wants her mom to formally adopt "an entire army of siblings."
She often times find it difficult to relate to or connect with her peers which is one of the reasons she feels a kinship towards babies and small children. Whether it's through babysitting, Morá feels like she's not putting on a facade- that she can authentically be herself without judgement.
She loves watching animated films & television shows as well as Metaxý ton Selídon, the educational children's TV show created and hosted by Logos (god of stories).
Some of Morá's favorite sweet treats to eat aside from candy include strawberry gelatin cups, vanilla custard pudding, strawberry frosted marshmallow squares, a cherry dip ice cream cone, and a chipwich ice cream sandwich.
Morá knows how she's looked at by the general public & in the pantheon- often compared to Techne (goddess of arts, crafts, & invention) and Koalemos (god of foolishness); her best friend for being neurodivergent. She's proud of not fitting the mold for a "typical being" or deity.
In addition to her childlike mannerisms & proclivities, she's also dyslexic.
Morá is currently on break from school which she attends with other godly kids like Theodon (god of reality, uncertainty, & fate), Circe (goddess of sorcery), Eileithyia (Ella) (goddess of childbirth), Telesphorus (Rusty) (god of rehabilitation), Eirene (goddess of peace), Cedalion (demi-god of smithing ore), Eunomia (goddess of law & legislation), and Dysnomia (goddess of anarchy & lawlessness). Eleos (Ellie) (goddess of mercy, pity, & compassion), Heimarmene (Marnie) (goddess of shared fate), Eiresione (Ren) (goddess of offerings), and Philautia (goddess of self love) are nice to her and often say hi.
At school, her locker is decorated with a variety of glitter stickers!
She almost always spends her lunch with Koalemos & they get along great! Morá comforts him whenever he's in a bad mood or being picked on and they often have camp sleepovers in the livingroom of their houses. She also helps him with his homework sometimes if his aide leaves early.
Morá is a member of her school's cheerleading team, impressing the team's captain with her vibrant energy, flexibility, flips, & cartwheels.
Her favorite lipgloss shade to wear is Olmorfia's "Enchanted Candy", a light glittery pink color.
She's currently curious about kissing, not ever having her first kiss. Morá has thought about "practicing" with Koalemos, but has not asked him.
In the pantheon she really likes some of her mom's friends like Leto (Titaness of demurity & motherhood); who gifted her with a Diamond Ave. unicorn shaped clutch for her birthday, Apheleia (goddess of simplicity); who's Koalemos' mother, Hestia (goddess of the hearth); and her naturally warm hugs, Iris (goddess of the rainbow), Thalia (muse of comedy); is a fan of her comic books and animated TV shows, Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness), and Elpis (goddess of hope).
Morá's favorite piece of jewelry to wear is the gummy bear necklace from Kaleidoscope Lab.
She can change a diaper in ten seconds flat!
Her all time favorite desert from Hollyhock's Bakery is the neopolitan cake (topped with vanilla buttercream frosting, chocolate ganache, and candied strawberries).
Morá has a little crush on Apólafsi (god of enjoyment).
Her favorite thing to order from Olympic Chef is a cheeseburger with large crinkle cut fries and a large strawberry soda. She'll also sometimes order the kid's meal, just to get the toy!
Two of her guilty pleasures are pepperoni pizza as well as unagi sushi rolls from The Ocean Roll, a popular sushi restaurant owned by Poseidon (god of the sea & earthquakes).
Morá unofficially runs her own babysitting service! The only condition (set by her mom) is that she can't babysit no longer than 10 pm on weeknights. Most of the money saved up is going towards University, where she hopes to major in children's education. Morá has treated herself with buying a couple of Diamond Ave. clutches on her own (a milkshake shaped one and one in the shape of a piece of candy).
At a babysitting job, she will usually bring a "kid kit" with her- which includes board games, crayons, craft materials, and coloring books.
In her free time, she enjoys a wide range of activities like gymnastics (loves doing cartwheels & backflips), yoga, painting (her favorite being oil and watercolor), doing various craft projects, reading (listening to audiobooks), going to the arcade, knitting, lanyard, playing video games, roller skating, laser tag, cloud surfing, going to museums, and spending time at the park.
Some of her favorite meals include her mom's creamy mac n' cheese, Hestia's lemon-honey glazed fried chicken, white rice with sesame chicken meatballs, & ravioli casserole. Morá has started to learn how to cook, her specialty so far being moussaka egg rolls!
"Children have a different kind of wisdom."

I fell in love with these postcards from the Girl’s Night Out popup cafe the moment I saw them! I knew I had to get my hands on them, and the lovely @blaze-rocket was able to help that happen.
I cannot get over how perfect these postcards are. To me, this is what Sailor Moon is; a testament to the little moments from the series that made us fall in love with the characters, especially how their personal preferences were reflected in their fashion choices. In a world of merch where it’s easy to just slap a random crescent moon on something pink and say “look, it’s Usagi,” the designer responsible for these graphics went the extra mile to take imagery from the show itself that needles its way deep into our nostalgia-cortexes.
How many references do you recognise? Quiz yourself against this comprehensive (image-heavy) list! 👇
The inners’ postcards all reference the eye-catching sign for Game Center Crown, the iconic arcade where Motoki Furuhata worked and the gang would all congregate to play games and share information.
Tumblr media
Starting in R they switched to hanging out at Fruits Parlor Crown, a cafe attached to the arcade staffed by Motoki’s sister Unazuki, which the Inners’ postcards all also reference. They would often get brightly-coloured drinks there, but the drinks pictured on these postcards seem to specifically line up with the real drinks available at the Girls Night Out popup cafe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sailors Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto’s postcards all reference “Café Étrangère,” which was the name of the cafe they were seen dining at in the Sailor Moon S movie. Even the logo is replicated faithfully from a scene only a few seconds long.
Tumblr media
All the girls’ clothes are hanging on coat hangers shaped like Luna/Artemis/Diana.
Ami / Sailor Mercury’s references:
Ami’s casual outfit is an unusual choice since she only wore it a handful of times over the entire series, and half the times she wore it, it was given a different colour scheme with a green jacket instead of the yellow version pictured here.
Tumblr media
Her “mini data computer” is her most iconic tool/weapon/accessory, revealed in episode 009, directly after her introduction.
The pink package is how Usagi and the other girls wrapped up her transformation stick and communicator watch as Ami’s going-away present in episode 062.
The ice cream may be a reference to the same episode, as she shared a cone with Chibi-Usa before she left, and returned to the store to protect her friends from the Droid Nihpasu.
The flash cards are a method Ami commonly used to help her study, and are particularly similar to the ones shown in the SuperS short “Ami’s First Love”.
Tumblr media
Rei / Sailor Mars’s References:
Rei wore her casual outfit fairly frequently, starting and most notably in the beginning of the Sailor Moon R movie.
Tumblr media
The small red o-mamori charm is from Hikawa Shrine, seen frequently but introduced in episode 010.
The paper ofuda ward was used frequently by Rei to fight evil, even before she could transform, but most notably in the attack sequence for “Akuryou, Taisan” (“Foul Spirit, Begone”).
To my knowledge the purple bag isn’t a specific reference, but Rei did throw a similar purse at a Cardian as a makeshift weapon in episode 048 before she got her Guardian memories back.
The gift-wrapped shopping boxes are the exact same ones as carried by Rei in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars opening sequence before she trips and falls, right down to the patterns on the paper...
... which in itself may be a reference/callback to Rei’s tendency to make Yuuichirou carry her shopping (maybe so she doesn’t trip).
The phoenix-shaped pendant is a reference to episode 183; it’s made of glazed ceramic, crafted by Rei’s cousin Kengo Ibuki, given to her as a child after she convinced him not to smash it even though he his pottery a “failure”.
Tumblr media
Makoto / Sailor Jupiter’s References:
Makoto didn’t start wearing her casual outfit until around S, but she wore it frequently after that, especially as she became more confident wearing “feminine” clothing. They even remembered her iconic gold wrist watch worn over her sleeve!
Tumblr media
Her uniquely decorated bento bag debuted in episode 026, her introductory episode, along with the rounded green cutlery. The pouch has been featured a few more times since and its design is a mainstay in almost every Sailor Moon canon.
The teal hairtie and the rose-shaped earrings are two of Makoto’s iconic accessories, some of the only non-magical fashion accessories in the entire series to stay the same whether the character is transformed or not (the other being Minako’s infamous red bow). Her earrings also served a dual purpose as makeshift projectile weapons in episode 025.
The blue book is 月夜の天馬 (Tsukiyo no Tenma, “The Moonlit Pegasus”), a novel which was written by Tomoko Takase and introduced in epsode 134. Makoto knew Tomoko from her old middle school, before she transferred, and was the first one to read her first draft after retrieving it from bullies. She encouraged Tomoko to try and get it published. Makoto meets with her again and helps her overcome her writer’s block to finish her sequel, 天馬幻想 (Tenma Gensou, “Pegasus Fantasy”).
Tumblr media
Minako / Sailor Venus’s References:
This is one of Minako’s most-worn casual outfits, especially if you consider the additional outfits based off it. Despite its prevalence, she didn’t start wearing it until the beginning of S.
Tumblr media
Minako’s red hair ribbon is her most iconic accessory, but did you know why she started wearing it? The Codename: Sailor V prequel manga explains that she started wearing the ribbon instead of her usual red hairtie on the suggestion of her “first crush” Higashi. But when he turns out to be an enemy in disguise, she decides she looks good with a ribbon anyway, and keeps wearing it for her own benefit.
The red mask is a reference to Minako’s role as Sailor V before joining the team as Sailor Venus. Sailor V was known as a mysterious vigilante superhero and a fictional video game character as early as episode 001, but in episode 033 Minako revealed herself to the rest of the Sailor Team, dramatically removing her mask one final time.
Minako was known to be a skilled volleyball player, especially in the manga, and it was especially relevant in episode 100 where she had to delicately return the serve of an energy sphere containing the Pure Heart of her old volleyball crush, Asai.
The sign with Minako’s name can be seen hanging off the front of her bedroom door in episode 192.
Tumblr media
[Manga scan courtesy of Miss Dream.]
Usagi / Sailor Moon’s References:
Usagi wore this outfit in the Sailor Moon R movie, making it a memorable choice. Although the movie aired roughly midway through R, Usagi didn’t start to wear this outfit casually again until the S season.
Tumblr media
Usagi is shown eating a lot of food, especially sweets, but she seems to have a particular fondness for crepes, snacking on them in several different episodes.
In episode 143 we can see that Usagi is very technologically trendy - for the times. She’s carrying that blue-and-pink pager which she and Mamoru use to contact each other by way of goroawase, that is, deciphering messages based on the different pronunciations of numbers, a precursor to modern texting. Mamoru pages her the numbers 84 51, which could be read as hachi yon go ichi; reading only the first syllables, and substituting go for the related sound ko, Usagi would interpret the message as hayo koi, which sounds a bit like “come quick” - she’s late for their date. Oops!
By the way, pagers were often called “pocket bells” (pokeberu) in Japan, and became so rapidly popular they even found their way into the lyrics of Rashiku Ikimasho, the ending song for the SuperS season; 「泣きたい時には ポケベルならしてよんで、戦士の休息」 [Nakitai toki ni wa POKEBELL narashite yonde, senshi no kyuusoku] “If you feel like crying, send a page thru the Pocket Bell, take a break from [being a] Guardian”
Tumblr media
Chibi-Usa / Sailor Chibi Moon’s References:
Chibi-Usa doesn’t technically have a school uniform, but her casual clothes are often styled after sailor suits as a reflection of both her idolisation of the figure of “Sailor Moon and of her desire to be seen as older and more mature than she appears. She changes “uniforms” every season, and this pinafore outfit is the version she wears in SuperS. She wore the other outfit in the SuperS premiere episode.
Tumblr media
The handgun is from episode 060, Chibi-Usa’s introduction to the series and arguably one of the most iconic absurdist scenes in all of Sailor Moon. The gun itself is actually a toy, probably a transformation of the Luna-P sphere, which Chibi-Usa uses to try and threaten Usagi into giving her the Legendary Silver Crystal. When she “shoots” Usagi, the bullet is revealed to be nothing but a suction-cup flower, also pictured. (By the way, if you were wondering, Chibi-Usa’s fake gun is based on a real Colt M1911A1.) She transforms the Luna-P into a toy gun to shoot Sailor Moon again in the Sailor Moon R movie, this time as a way to motivate Usagi to fight.
The Luna-P sphere was a mysterious gadget Chibi-Usa kept with her for the duration of R and parts of S. It’s unknown where it came from, but it could be assumed to have been created from advanced 30th century technology. It was a combination toy and tool which could transform itself into a variety of objects, formulas, and even weapons, though none were shown to be particularly powerful. It could also be used to communicate with Sailor Pluto at the Time-Space Door. When Chibi-Usa was manipulated into becoming Wicked Lady in episode 085, the Luna-P sphere also transformed into an “evil” and much more dangerous version.
The Space-Time Key was a special tool given to her by Sailor Pluto that allowed her to travel between the past and the future, though it was difficult for her to wield effectively.
The sunhat was given to Chibi-Usa by Ikuko, so she treasured it greatly. In episode 112 it got blown away and was retrieved by Hotaru Tomoe, which allowed her to meet Chibi-Usa and marked the beginning of their close friendship.
The blue-and-red package was a gift containing two manga books (”Drop Drop” vol. 1 & 2 by Ukon Katakuri) which Chibi-Usa intended to give to her new friend Hotaru in episode 113.
In episode 127, Chibi-Usa returned home to the future, and the girls all made her some going-away gifts. Ami made her a floppy disk (lol) to help her study, Rei made her a casette tape (double lol) of her music, Makoto packed her a lunch, and Minako made her a photo album of their time together. Usagi hand-sewed Chibi-Usa the rabbit-shaped backpack using a real outfit she used to love when she was a child.
Tumblr media
Michiru / Sailor Neptune’s References:
This is a somewhat unusual choice for Michiru’s casual outfit, as she only wore it for two episodes, and that’s only because they made up a two-part story. But perhaps because the episodes were so pivotal - with Haruka and Michiru almost learning Usagi’s true identity - the outfit itself became more memorable.
Tumblr media
Not only do they include Michiru’s violin, but they included the lemon she bounced off the instrument as she played to show off her skills in episode 093.
The teacup, teaspoon and saucer are the same set Michiru was seen drinking from at Fruits Parlor Crown in episode 094.
Michiru and Haruka both reference episode 095, where they had to enter a “true love” contest as part of their investigation. The contestants were asked to find their partner’s hand in an anonymous lineup, and Haruka was able to identify Michiru’s hand immediately.
Michiru used Haruka as a model for an illustration in her green sketchbook in episode 106.
Michiru’s Talisman is the Deep Aqua Mirror, revealed in episode 110 and used in her attack Submarine Reflection. She could also use it to receive prophetic visions. Visually, it was based on real-life art nouveau hand mirrors, and symbolically represented the mirror from the Three Sacred Treasures.
Tumblr media
Haruka / Sailor Uranus’s References:
Conversely, Haruka wore this outfit a lot. Maybe more than she should’ve.
Tumblr media
The teacup and saucer is the same set Haruka was seen drinking from at Fruits Parlor Crown in episode 094.
Haruka’s postcard also references the lovers contest in episode 095 (see above).
The purple scarf is from episode 096; Haruka was wearing it as a necktie when she almost ran into Makoto on her motorcycle. Haruka used the scarf to bandage Makoto’s road rash, which she returned later, though now smitten.
Not only is Haruka’s motorcycle included, they also referenced (one of) her car(s), the 1968 Toyota 2000GT.
Haruka’s Talisman is the Space Sword, revealed in episode 110 and used in her attack Space Sword Blaster. Symbolically it represented the sword from the Three Sacred Treasures.
Tumblr media
Setsuna / Sailor Pluto’s References:
Setsuna didn’t have a school uniform, since she wasn’t a student, so she got to double-up on her casual outfits. Her mauve outfit is her most recognisable, wearing it so often it may as well have been her uniform. In fact, she was rarely seen wearing anything else until Sailor Stars, where she started experimenting with other outfits, including the Time Lord-esque suit on the right.
Tumblr media
The potted plant is a Tellun, the energy-draining plant created by Tellu in episode 121. Setsuna was investigating it when it attempted to attack her, but she was protected by her Talisman, the Garnet Orb (also pictured, representing the jewel in the Three Sacred Treasures). She then went on to destroy the remaining Tellun plants and defeat Tellu with the help of Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, and Tuxedo Mask.
The teacup and saucer are the same set Setsuna is seen drinking from at Cafe Etranger in the Sailor Moon S movie.
In episode 182, the girls are discussing the mysterious arrival of Chibi Chibi while eating ice cream on a hot summer’s day. Setsuna appears out of nowhere to confirm their suspicions... carrying that popsicle of her own.
Tumblr media
Hotaru / Sailor Saturn’s References:
Hotaru tended to wear the same thing, mostly all-black, but she did occasionally adventure into rich colours like this bottle green two-piece outfit and iconic raspberry beret.
Tumblr media
The sunhat belonged to Chibi-Usa; it symbolises the beginning of their friendship, when Hotaru caught it after it blew away in episode 112.
Chibi-Usa gave Hotaru the rabbit backpack in episode 116, using it to pass a note inviting her on a picnic.
Hotaru collects lamps, and the two referenced here are seen in her bedroom, which she keeps dimly lit to manage her pain.
The window might seem random, but it was random in the series, too - it’s one of the curtained window which looks out from Hotaru’s bedroom, and when a Daimon experiment goes terribly wrong in episode 118 and transforms her house into a Bamboozled-like inter-dimensional maze, one window overlooks a vast ocean while the other overlooks a strange jungle.
Hotaru’s weapon as Sailor Saturn is the Silence Glaive. It’s said that she possesses enough power to destroy the world with a single drop of her scythe.
Tumblr media
That’s it! You made it! How many references did YOU know? 🌙

Helluva Boss Pilot: Gender Reverse
Tumblr media
Not too far away from Pentagram City lay a shady place in the bowels of Hell. “Welcome to Imp City: est. 1981” was posted on a worn wooden sign with a white painted eye toward the top. Under a crimson sky, a wide array of buildings made up the city, some with spikes on the roofs. Downtrodden imps of various colors and sizes mulled around the streets and ghettos. Mugging, sex, drugs, poverty, and murder were common aspects of their everyday afterlives. Indeed, being considered “lesser demons” and the “lowest of the low,” not very many had opportunities granted to them.
Well, save for a unique family of imps, trying to get their business running.
 Just who were these imps?
A nearby screen showed old fashioned numbers ticking down, 3, 2, and 1 against red.
Elektriza, a red and white faced imp appeared on stage in front of purple curtains. Elektriza smiled in front of the camera with a row of sharp yellow teeth, her eyes yellow with orange irises and black pupils. The left side of her face was red and the right side was white. A prominent black mark was visible on her forehead, looking like an upside down lotus. Her long curved horns were black and white, the horns curving inward toward her face like a ram’s. A dark navy blue business dress graced her form, orange-pink buttons going down the center of it. The collar of her dress was white and her red undershirt had a round pink pin with a stitched up face on it. Her dress had several tatters in it. Navy blue gloves covered her hands and wrists, with a yellow eye decoration on each one. She also wore matching cowgirl boots, the tips of them the same pinkish color as her pin. A red pointed tail with a few white spots on it excitedly swished back and forth behind her.
“Hi there, I’m Elektriz, the “a” is silent, and I’m the founder of I.M.P.!”
The logo appeared in red sparkles over her outstretched left hand. “I.M.P.” was shown in bold black letters, the “M” shaped like black and white imp horns. Down below were words in red: “Immediate Murder Professionals.”
“Are you a piece of shit who got yourself sent to Hell?”
A small screen in the right hand corner showed Elektriza wearing a black cape and two black pointed hats on her horns. A monocle rested near her left eye. She was grinning in front of a burning house. The sign beside her read “orphanage for disabled neglected children.”
“Or are you an innocent soul who just happened to be fucked over by someone else?”
The next slide showed Elektriza in a white angel costume throwing a styrofoam cup into a waste bin next to a recycle bin. An old clerk with large glasses was working behind a desk in the background. Red pentagrams decorated the walls.
The next clip showed a video of a tall muscular red demon talking in front of a camera. She was wearing a white shirt that read “Ohio” on it in red. A 666 News billboard was in the background along with a “Hella” sign and a beer poster. An imp held a wooden sign that read “Some person who hired us!”
The red demon spoke, “After lovingly killing my husband for fucking a delivery lady, you can imagine my surprise when I wound up here, after the state of Ohio killed me.” She punched one of her hands with her meaty fist. “I really wish I could just stick it to that yapping charter who saw me hiding the body!”
The scene cut back to Elektriza who was shown holding an ornate Satanic ritual book. She was in a room full of white candles and skulls scattered on the floor and a white clothed altar with a round mirror on it.
Behind her were her two employee imps, Moxxia and Millard. Moxxia had white messy hair and black and white stripped horns curving back in a zig zag look. Several white tuffs of hair rested beside her cheeks on either side. She wore a similar dark navy blue business dress like her boss, with the pink buttons in the center and the cuffs of the sleeves white. Moxxia’s face was red, and her eyes were big and yellow. White freckles dotted near her eyes and an orange-pink bow rested on top of her head between her horns. Her red and blue curved hooves were visible, as was her red pointed tail with a couple of black stripes on it.
Finally, there was the other imp, Millard. Millard had a red face like his wife Moxxia, and also had big yellow eyes. His hair was short, black, and wild on top of his head. A white spot in his hair took the shape of a skull. His tall long horns were black with faint white stripes on them. The horns curved slightly past the back of his head. Unlike the other two, he wore torn black jeans and a black crop top shirt that exposed his red shoulders. His clawed feet and red tail were visible as well.
“Well luckily for you,” Elektriza mentioned, referring back to the red demon desperate for revenge, “Thanks to our company’s special access to the living world…”
She grinned and wiggled her fingers.
 Fwoosh!
A fast explosive sound was heard and a flaming portal appeared inside the candle circle. The impact sent the other two imps scurrying away. She walked over to the portal.
“We can help you take care of your unfinished business by taking out anyone who screwed you over when you were alive!”
She smiled and fell backwards into the portal.
The next image showed a white figure with an angry expression, arms crossed. A thought bubble was above the head with a red x over another figure. A red monster fell next to the startled figure. The camera panned up and showed the three imps arriving in a red circle. Millard stood with a spear in his hands, Moxxia held a gun and Elektriza stood with both her arms out. Elektriza’s arms made the “M” in the I.M.P. logo.
 The commercial jingle began:
 “Who you want somebody gone
And you don’t wanna wait too long
Call the Immediate Murder Professionals”
Moxxia threw a grenade out the window, Elektriza and Millard covering their ears and smiling as it exploded. A picture of a growling Moxxia hung on the wall.
In an office room, Elektriza grinned manically as she hung a struggling human from the ceiling. Millard held a piece of paper and showed it to Moxxia, who was sitting on a chair. On the wall was a flat screen TV, a rocker poster, and a drawing of Madam Zmeya, the snake inventor.
Elektriza shocked a bond and gagged victim, Millard used a mace on another victim, while a scowling Moxxia choked a third.
 “Whether grenade or cyanide
We’ll make it look like suicide
The Immediate Murder Professionals”
“We do our job so well
Because we come straight up from Hell”
The next clip showed Elektriza mentioning for her partners in crime to follow her through a flaming portal in the wall. Millard happily followed, along with Moxxia, who tripped on a book as she ran through. The three imps appeared through the floor and did poses after Moxxia quickly stood back up. They fell silent as humans in a church service stared at them in shock.
“We’ll kill your husband our your wife
We’ll even let you keep the knife
The Immediate Murder Professionals
 Kids die for free!”
Millard was shown greedily eying a pink pair of ladies underwear while stabbing a naked couple having sex in bed. Moxxia groaned and looked away. Elektriza found a pair of boxers and help them up for a closer look.
Elektriza repeatedly stabbed another victim’s head in a chair at a circus in Hell. “The Elektriza Extravaganza” was shown in bold black letters on a sign.
The imps killed more people, torturing people with Medieval stretching, chasing victims with a shark, roasting them with gasoline and fire, smothering them with pillows, dropping a piano on them, and electrocuting them.
A little kid with white skin, brown curly hair, black pants and an orange shirt with a ringed planet on it was strolling along licking a pink ice cream cone.
 Bang!
The kid fell to the ground after Moxxia shot her in the back. The imps looked at each other in shock, believing they had killed the wrong target. The kid was rushed to the worst hospital in the city, one where the doctors carelessly treated the kid and only cared about insurance money. The girl was rushed into the emergency room.
“Doctor, she’s not responding,” said a pink haired male, rapidly shaking the girl’s still form.
“Who ordered a stat?” asked a female with glasses. She gave the kid hard chest compressions. “It didn’t do anything!”
The doctor came in. “Damn it! We’re not losing another one! Clear!”
The kid received a shock to the heart and she gasped for air.
“Holy shit that actually worked,” the blonde spectacled doctor muttered.
The imps sat in the waiting room, just outside door 66. The doctor came out to see them.
“She’s in stable condition, but she’ll need surgery. Now what kind of insurance do you freaks have?”
“The fuck is insurance?!” asked Elektriza.
The imps, kid and bed were promptly sent crashing through a window, glass flying everywhere. Everyone screamed as they fell. Thankfully, a flaming portal was underneath them, sending the group back into Hell.
Moxxia and Millard later sang a murder love song in their living room before the meeting. Moxxia played on her purple guitar as Millard watched her with love in his eyes. It reminded them of the good times when they would shoot at demons together in the streets, when they dragged a bloody sack behind them and when Millard got a grenade as a present and used it to blow up a building.
 Moxxia began:
“Oh what a thrill when the crimson starts to spill
And my Millard goes in for the kill
He takes away my breath
He’s the angel of death, Millard
Oh Millard”
 “Everything is like a dream
When I hear his victims start to scream
When I go for the attack
He’s always got my back, on guard
Oh Millard”
“When the blood starts dripping down the sides
And the bodies start to fall from the skies
My heart skips a beat
When my Millard’s guns a blazing in the night
He makes me feel alive in every fight
Through blood and tears, we’ll never be apart
He makes the murdering fun from the start”
Both of them hummed before Moxxia finished,
“Of all the imps in Hell…it’s for him that I fell…”
Millard joined in at the same moment, “It’s for her that I fell…”
 “Oh Millard.”
They leaned in for a kiss.
They paused. Moxxia yelled, while looking out the window. Elektriza was pressed against the window with a video camera.
“Are you fucking filming us right now?!” she yelled.
Millard glanced over and sighed, as a smiling Elektriza held up a sign which read “Meeting in 2 hours: nice job banging yo’ wife!”
Just before the meeting, Elektriza walked into the receptionist room.
A white and grey male Hellhound was already there, Chandra the grumpy receptionist. He wore a grey-blue shirt with black strings making a downward Pentagram design at the top. His jeans were torn and black, his paws visible. He wore a spiked collar around his neck and rings on his pointed ears. His eyes were red with white irises and black pupils, eyes that seemed perpetually angry or bored.
The rotary bone-shaped phone made barking sounds as it rang. The hound picked it up.
“Hello, I.M.P.” he said in a gruff monotone.
“Me and my wife got stabbed! Somebody help…”
Chandra abruptly hung up and continued reading a Hellhound Monthly magazine in front of him. His breath smelled like meth and cigarette smoke. A hidden “to do” list in front of him read: “terrorize the werecats,” “go get a drink,” “hang out with cute Sobtiny at the hound rock concert.” He already imagined himself back in the comfort of his home, punching a punching bag with Moxxia’s face on it.
Moxxia stomped over to the Hellhound’s desk, holding a “chub be gone” paper in her hand. “Did you just send me an ad for weight loss?”
 “No,” he replied.
“Why would anyone send me this?”
Chandra let out a small smile. “Come on. You know why.”
Moxxia sighed, “You’re just awful!” before she wondered over to get water.
“Hello Chandy!” Elektriza beamed at her adoptive son as she came over. “Did you enjoy my adoption anniversary present?”
“I already fucking told you,” Chandra growled. “It was a bunch of spiders and not a cure for syphilis. So no.”
“Aw don’t be such a liar,” Elektriza remarked in a playful tone. “Although I’m sorry that it happened, regardless.” Chandra growled out loud, clenching his claws.
The phone rang again and Chandra answered it.
“Elektriz!” he called. “That clingy rich asshole’s on the phone! Says it’s urgent and wants to talk to you!” Then he muttered, “Sounds a little D T F y.” (Down to fuck).
Moxxia walked back in, standing by Elektriza next to the water cooler.
“Oh god that was one time!” Elektriza called, spilling water everywhere. “We wouldn’t be able to have access to the living world, if I didn’t sleep with that privileged asshole!”
 Moxxia paused, confused. “You what?”
“And…I may have stolen her book after we fucked. Man it was heavy. Yeah, I then fell off a balcony and landed in the king owl’s cake. Then I was like, ‘Sorry I fucked your wife!’”
 “Elektriz!” Chandra bellowed.
“I heard you already!” Elektriza shouted back.
The head imp walked over to another desk and gulped down a cup of iced coffee. She took a breath and sighed in satisfaction. “Ah, this stuff never gets old! My horse Thumbtack agrees with me.”
“Your horse doesn’t exist,” Moxxia remarked.
“Don’t you be mean to our boss like that,” Millard piped up as he walked over to Moxxia.
“Don’t tell me that you believe her?”
“I just find it amusing that she changes her horse’s name every day!”
“That’s more like it,” Elektriza responded. “You see, we need more of Millard’s good spirits in all of us. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a certain someone to talk to before the meeting.”
Elektriza left and opened the door to her office, the one where “Elektriza” was written with the “a” crossed out.
Moxxia huffed. “Great, now I don’t have my avocado salad for lunch because someone decided to eat it.”
She glared at Chandra who flipped her the bird. “I was hungover and hungry, alright?”
“Why would you get drunk on a workday anyway?” asked Millard to Chandra.
“Dumbass! I was hung over from this morning!” he replied.
“At least I don’t go around kicking babies in strollers,” Moxxia scoffed.
“Just admit it, everyone knows you’re a white-haired loser, Moxxia.”
“So…” drawled Elektriza as she played with bobbleheads of Moxxia and Millard on her desk in her office. A circus poster hanging on the wall reminded Elektriza of the times when she performed with her two brothers, Tillo and Barb Wire. She was sitting in her chair holding her cell phone. “What can I do you for, Stola?”
An owl princess lounged on a couch in her palace, holding an old rotary phone with wings on it. Her eyes were large and red, her round black hat had a gold crown on it. The hat also had red markings similar to her eyes. Long silky black hair fell past her shoulders, brushing her grey feathery wings. Her chest was fluffy and a silvery grey. A portrait shown a picture of the royal family: Stola, her husband and their son, Prince Octavius. A red robe with a fur collar was draped over her.
The princess spoke in a British accent. “There’s a doctor that’s causing trouble up on Earth for a few of my associates. He’s trying to convince people that the Covid 19 Pandemic exists and to take extra precautions.”
 “Doesn’t it?”
“Well, yes, but more people die when they’re being careless and nothing’s done about it. And though I hate being lonely…it’s getting overcrowded here. Frankly, the global warming issue seems easier to deal with.”
“Okay well now that makes sense,” said Elektriza. A mug with “#1 boss” was on the desk.
“You know what happens when I’m lonely or stressed, Trizzy?”
“God fuckin damn it,” she muttered.
The owl grinned, her eyes glowing red, she spoke a lot of curse words and terrible things. “When I’m lonely, I become hungry. And when I’m hungry, I want to choke on that big red…of yours…lick your…bite with more teeth…until you’re screaming…like a fucking baby!”
A stunned Elektriza hung up from the “one night stand bird dick,” broke her phone in half, banged another phone on top of it, then mixed the pieces into a blender.
“Here, eat this,” Elektriza said to Chandra who came in. The Hellhound guzzled it down.
“And you know that bridge over the freeway?”
 “Yeah?” asked the hound.
 “Shit off it.”
The imps currently resided in a tall office building that seemed to stand out among the other structures. Along with spikes jutting from the roof and sides, there were a pair of giant black and white imp horns attached to the sides of the building for decoration. The lights inside near the top floor were on.
Posted on a door were the words “I.M.P. Headquarters” with “IMP Meeting in Progress” written on a piece of paper taped to the door, a smiley face off to the side.
On a white board was a bar graph and a line graph, the line graph pointing lower at a drawing of a raging horned demon. “Fix this shit!” was written in big bold letters that took up much of the board. “Elektriza is the best, by Elektriza” was scribbled off to the side. Several tall chairs with spikes jutting from the top boarders were set near a brown table in the center of the room. A white pentagram was drawn in the center of the table.
Elektriza began to speak, pacing back and forth. She looked toward her audience of two imps and a hellhound sitting on chairs around a table.
“All right, now I know business has been…a bit slow, lately.”
She mentioned to the board at the downward sloping line. “In fact, there seems to be less people seeking out our services; 1,056 in comparison to the 1,066 from last month. We’ve basically spiraled from the True Blue Market to that of the Raging Bull.” She pointed at the roaring demon head drawing on the board.
“Shouldn’t it be the Bull Market is good and the Bear Market is bad?” said a voice.
“Moxxia, nobody cares what you think,” Elektriza said, before continuing.
“Any decrease could spell disaster for us, not to mention how lots of people use our services and yet look down on us.” Elektriza cleared her throat and spread out her hands. “Now, I’m not saying it’s, *cough* Moxxia’s or anyone’s fault…”
 Moxxia raised her eyebrows.
Elektriza continued, “…but let’s discuss how we can improve. Now does anyone have any ideas on how to get business drumming up again?”
Millard, raised his hand with a grin and shining eyes.
  “What…about…a car wash?!”
“This is Hell, Milliard, no one cares about cars being clean here, okay?!”
Just then, there came a coughing from the other room. A small cyclops demon with hot pink hair with a patch of yellow opened the door and walked in. He brushed off soot from his white shirt and waved at the group, who stared in surprise.
“Hi, I’m Preppy! It’s nice to meet you all.”
He darted around the room and began removing cobwebs from the windows. “It looks like there are two women, a man and a dog here, a nice balance.”
Chandra, the grey hellhound glared at Preppy, narrowing his red eyes. “What was that, you little shit?”
Preppy stopped in his tracks. “Now, did you guys need any cars to be washed?”
Elektriza shook her head. “We don’t have any cars here, we’re broke as fuck.”
Millard stared at Preppy and cupped his own cheeks with his hands. “Oh my Satan! He’s so adorable! Can we keep him?!”
“No!” Moxxia and Chandra shouted at the same time. The two workers then glared at each other.
Moxxia crossed her arms. “We’re in the middle of a meeting right now. Do you mind?!” She pointed to the door.
Preppy laughed nervously, “Oh okay, sorry about that, hehhehheh. I’ll be outside if you need me!”
He scurried out of the room.
Elektriza paused for a moment, then said, “Oh right! Ideas for our company!” She waved her hands, eyes shining. “How about a billboard?!”
Moxxia crossed her arms. “We can’t afford a billboard, mam’.”
Elektriza rushed over and held Moxxia in a headlock. Her voice was rushed and sarcastic, “So helpful, Moxxia, I’m really glad you’re in the room right now.” She shoved Moxxia away.
Elektriza stared in frustration. “Have you guys forgotten what service we provide?!”
She picked up a remote and turned on an old fashioned TV.
After static appeared on screen, the footage showed the group killing off individuals.
Elektriza bashing a red demon’s head with a mullet.
Moxxia shooting a blue person tied up to a chair.
Chandra grabbing a red person in his mouth and shaking the person side to side like a wolf.
Millard beheading a blue person with a spear and laughing.
Elektriza watched with a relaxed smile on her face, holding up a blue bowl of popcorn. Chandra sat on the table, popping popcorn pieces into his mouth. Millard perched on the table, enjoying the show, but Moxxia stood off to the side with a grumpy face.
Posters hung from the walls, one showing Elektriza and her two brothers, Tillo (an imp with short black hair) and Barb Wire (a smiling imp with ram-like horns.) It was a picture of them at a circus, the banner reading “The Amazing Imp Siblings!” Elektriza remembered the good times she had with them when they performed on stage. Barb Wire would balance on a tightrope, holding a pole with flames on either end. Tillo tamed and evaded manticores, dragons and other beasts that were released into the arena. Elektriza would sing songs about murdering people and they would all pose and bow at the end as the crowd cheered.
That was before Elektriza moved on to form I.M.P., recruited Moxxia and Millard, and adopted Chandra.
Elektriza moved a hand toward her chest and sighed with content. “Ah, those were good times.”
Moxxia spoke up as Millard ate a piece of popcorn. “We don’t need any reminding, mam’, considering you blew most of our salaries on an obnoxious TV ad last week, one that you then additionally paid to have run for a full three hours on a channel, nobody watches!”
Elektriza turned her head, insulted. “Hey, uh, excuse me?” She stood up. “What’s “obnoxious” about a super fun jingle, all right? It’s a fun distraction when an advertisement’s spitting bullshit.” She walked across the room.
“People love musicals, mam’,” Millard added.
Elektriza smiled. “Exactly, Millard, and we’re basically doing a musical.” Elektriza did jazz hands before pointing rapidly at Moxxia with a scowl.
“Are you gonna crush my musical theater dreams like my mom did?” She lowered her head.
“Mam’…” Moxxia began, but her boss cut her off.
“Because right now, all I see is just my mom’s asshole talking to me, crushing my dreams of being, who I truly am inside.” She turned his head away.
Millard leaned in toward his wife and spoke with a teasing tone. “Are you trying to crush her dreams, Moxxia?”
“I…what?” she asked, looking at him. Millard leaned in close and stuck out his tongue, tail curling. “I thought I knew you.” Moxxia rolled her eyes; her husband loved to annoy her.
Elektriza turned back to Moxxia, tears in her eyes. “I can’t believe you, Moxxia. And after I made you Employee of the Month.” She held a picture of Moxxia with her mouth open in a roar, snake tongue showing.
Moxxia threw up her hands, “Okay, mam’ I’m sorry, but a commercial jingle is not comparable to musical theater. Nobody actually likes the jingles.”
“I liked it!” Millard pipped up.
Moxxia turned to him, finger shaking, “Do not…do not agree with her in front of me.”
Chandra sat, bored, playing on his phone. Moxxia’s head appeared on the screen but was crushed by a weight and then blown up by a bomb. At one point her face was sliced in half as “boom!” flashed across the screen.
Moxxia spoke, hands forward in front of her. “I’d like to go on record and say that incident with shooting the kid was Chandra’s fault. Dispatch is supposed to give us the right info on the target. It’s very simple.”
“Oh sit on some boobs, Moxxia,” Chandra replied without looking up.
Moxxia stuttered angrily, looking for a comeback. “You sit…sit on a…a…do your job!” She slammed her palm on the table.
Elektriza scolded her. “Hey, now we don’t blame our screw-ups on Chandra, okay? He didn’t do anything wrong.” She hugged him and nuzzled her head against his cheek, the hellhound growling at her to get off.
Moxxia stared in disbelief. “Are you kidding me, mam’? He’s awful!”
“The point is, Chandra is a valued member of our family and we don’t get rid of families.”
“We aren’t a family, mam’,” Moxxia pointed out. “You are the boss. We are the employees. You treat him like he’s some troubled teenager. He’s more like a meth-addicted homeless man you let run the phones.”
 Chandra flipped her the bird.
“Now, that is offensive,” remarked Elektriza, walking to the window, pulling open the blinds. “Without homeless people, I wouldn’t have half the joy and laughter I do in this life.”
Outside, a homeless imp with a broken horn and ragged grey clothing held up a sign that read “Monee helps. Satan Bless.” An imp man with black clothing and little bat wings blushed at Elektriza who waved and did a playful raise of eyebrows before closing the blinds.
Moxxia crossed her arms. “While we’re on the subject of “family,” can you stop finding me and Millard outside of work?”
“Come on, it’s not that big a deal,” Millard said.
Moxxia’s eyes grew wide. “Excuse me…what?! She was in our fucking fridge! She was spying on me while I was asleep. And worse, she fucking filmed me and you while we were singing and about to kiss!”
Elektriza giggled. “I still have it on camera.”
“It’s fine, honey,” Millard replied to Moxxia, patting her shoulder. “The “spoiler alert, butter’s spoiled!” was a funny use of wordplay Elektriza used.”
“No way,” Moxxia countered. “I had a great dream about my parents being murdered and Elektriza interrupted it.”
“I was just curious,” Elektriza responded.
 “Just…stop…doing that,” Moxxia growled.
“I don’t see what the issue is,” said Elektriza with a mischievous grin. “Something you don’t want me seeing?”
 “No!” Moxxia spat.
“Your shaggy flower blossoms?” Elektriza asked.
 Chandra giggled under his breath.
Moxxia was fed up. “Mam’, what you say and how you act is totally inappropriate!”
Millard pulled her down gently. “Calm down, Mox, you’re gonna have another panic attack!”
 “I am calm!” she yelled.
Millard rubbed her head and soothed her. “Shh, there, there.” Moxxia whimpered.
Elektriza spoke again with a childish grin, making a hole with two fingers and tapping the opening with one finger. “Look, I don’t judge the boring couple stuff you do outside of work hours, so don’t judge me.”
Veins popped out of Moxxia’s yellow eyes. “Oh I do judge you, mam’. Quite a lot, actually.” She crossed her arms as Millard gasped in horror.
 “Mox, she’s our boss!”
“No, it’s fine, Millard,” said Elektriza with a wave of her hand. “Your wife is just…how do I say this without being offensive…retarded.”
“Does immaturingly insulting me make you feel better about your sad, single, life?”
Elektriza leaned in toward Moxxia. “Yes it does, actually.”
Chandra appeared to agree, because he added to Moxxia, “The only reason you have a husband is because you’re easy to manage.”
“No she’s not, you turd!” Millard yelled, holding up two middle fingers.
“Do not talk to my assistant that way!” Elektriza demanded. “He’s sensitive!”
 “Yes I am!” Chandra barked.
Then a squeaky voice sounded from nearby: “You guys are all fucking assholes.”
Everyone turned and stared at a girl wearing an orange shirt with a planet on it. She had curly brown hair, white skin and was connected to a monitor.
Elektriza pointed at her. “Oh shut up, kid, you’re lucky to witness this.”
Moxxia pinched her nose and sighed in frustration. “Ugh, this company’s such a mess!”
“Did someone call me?” Preppy’s voice rang from the hallway. He opened the door a crack. “I can clean up any messes you may have!”
 “No!” Moxxia called. “Go away!”
 Preppy slowly closed the door.
 An awkward silence…
“Alright, let’s get back to talking about my outfit!” Elektriza said out of nowhere.
“Nobody was talking about that,” Chandra mentioned.
“Which is why I’m trying to get that ball rolling, so how does it look? It’s good, right?”
The kid ripped off the wires from her stomach.
“It was hell pretending to be paralyzed so you fuckshits wouldn’t kill me, but now? I want that. I want death. You!” she pointed to Elektriza. “You’re a selfish, greedy clown. And I’m a kid! We’re supposed to like clowns…even the creepy ones!”
Moxxia scoffed. “Hey now, that’s not very…”
The kid cut her off. “If I wanted to talk to a spineless jackass bitch, I’d rip out your spine and ask you some shit.”
 Moxxia shivered in fear.
“That’s my wife you’re talking to!” Millard yelled.
The kid snickered. “That’s your wife?! I figured you for a man whore, but I didn’t know you needed it that bad! Fucking with an old lady, ha!”
Millard fumed at his wife being called ugly and weak. To think that he would have sex with anyone else at random…
“And you!” The kid pointed at Chandra.
“Yeah? What about me?” Chandra asked.
The kid crossed her arms and smirked. “Nothing. I don’t talk to dogs. I’m a cat person.”
Chandra whined before turning back to his phone.
“Wow,” said Elektriza. “You know, kid, you kind of are a piece of shit.”
“Oh you gotta admit, she’s good,” Moxxia muttered.
A ding came from Chandra’s phone. He smiled. “Oh fuck guys, I just got a text from our client. Guess she was the right target after all.”
 “Who?” Elektriza asked.
 “Her.”
 “Me?” asked the kid.
 “Yep,” he confirmed.
“They wanted us to kill an actual child?” Elektriza asked.
“That’s what they’re saying,” Chandra said.
Elektriza grinned and twirled a gun in her hand. Her job just got more fun and easier. “Well Christ on a stick, I guess there is a god!” She fired and shot the girl in the chest. She flopped down dead with a yell in a pool of blood, smoke and sparks lingering in the air.
Elektriza spoke about I.M.P.: “You know folks, with this company, I really wanted to prove that we’re capable of doing the same things anyone else can, like killing people. So from us here at the Immediate Murder Professionals group, we promise to settle your unfinished business or your money is gone and you’re never getting it back and you can write us a bad review but we’ll play dumb to it because it’s Hell and no one fucking cares.”
Elektriza, Moxxia and Millard kicked the dead kid on the floor, enjoying themselves. Blood coated the floor and walls. Chandra snapped a picture with his phone. After the imps left with the body, Preppy came in and gasped.
“Well, time to clean this up. What a mess!” He hummed a happy tune as he mopped up the blood at rapid speed.
Elektriza and Moxxia wore gas masks and green suits as Elektriza sawed off the girl’s arm and Moxxia sawed her chest, organs spilling out into a sack below. Millard tossed an arm into the sack and Chandra held it open. Moxxia dropped the girl’s severed head inside and shared a loving smile with her husband.
Etched in red graffiti on a dumpster behind them were the words “Devil,” “Hell,” “Happy Hotel,” and “I’m always chasing rainbows.” A pentagram, and wide smiles were also doodled on the surface.
Elektriza embraced the entire group in a forceful hug, knocking the phone from Chandra’s hands.
“You know, even though this kid was a target, she’s still a child. It’s important that we’ve handled this going forward, respectfully.” She wrapped her long tail around the group, all of them smiling genuinely. For despite all their problems, they were still a company family.
Back in the human world, a crying blonde father wearing a pink shirt held up a paper saying “missing girl.” Below in large letters on the news was: “Dad sucks at drawing own kid!”
The father spoke into the microphone, “Please, if anyone has seen my little Ellie…”
He gasped as a sack dropped into his hands. He and the news reporter looked up to see a smiling Elektriza, Millard, and Moxxia through a portal up above.
“You’re welcome!” Elektriza called with a wave before the portal closed.
The father looked inside the bag and screamed. “My daughter! She’s dead! Noooooo!”

Somewhere in California…
There was a shabby looking white mail truck running its engine in park somewhere off a main road, in a semi-secluded, semi-suburban neighborhood. The neighborhood had palmtrees, a park, a couple roundabouts, a culdesac and trash on the ground. The logo on the side of the truck was hand painted, and slightly askew.
On one street corner stood a small cafe, it was a small locally owned cafe, but it had its busy hours. It’s front window was three paneled and a hand painted title was square in the center, “FIRTH.” The outer walls were painted a tasteless green color, and its awning was a nicer dark green, nearly a faded black. It also bore the cafe name, printed in smaller letters than on the window. Firth also had a back patio area called the “wilderness” where people came to enjoy their beverages in to-go cups before throwing them away in one of the wildernesses several trash cans. Sometimes they left their emptied iced coffee cups on the table for Emory to remove himself.
He picked up a few paper cups and brought them to the nearest trashcan. He wiped a table slowly with a rag from his apron, looking around, enjoying the overcast weather. He saw the mailtruck. He stood up and walked back inside, taking a ceramic brown cup and saucer with him, through the back entrance, through the kitchen to the dish station. He placed the cup and saucer in a pile of dishes soaking in the 3 piece sink. He put on a pair of yellow rubber gloves and washed several dishes with rapid motion. There was loud music playing from a portable speaker hanging on the wall and he could hear the cook cussing violently as he threw ingredients together, clanging fry pans and cracking eggs into boiling water. Pretty soon emory had all but finished a load of dishes, he pulled a glove back to check his watch and saw that it was already 4:59. He looked left, there was still a whole tray of filthy dishes waiting to be washed. It wasn’t too many for the cook to handle, he thought. As he popped his head into the kitchen, the cook was yelling at the poached eggs again, “Oh fuck you, you fucking fuck!” The eggwhite was helplessly stuck to the wet napkin the cook had used to soak up the water as the yolk broke over a piece of crumpled toast, soiling it indelibly. Emory spoke up. “I gotta clock out… There’s still some dishes left but it’s not that many.” “You’re leaving me now man? Fucking hell.” Exclaimed the cook. Emory said again, “I have clock out!” The cook, Alex was his name, just laughed in a raspy voice, “Hahaha! i’m fucking with you man, take it easy!”
Emory slunk away and took off his apron as he walked towards the back entrance, tossing it in a plastic mesh bag with other dirty aprons and rags. On his t-shirt underneath he had a big wet spot from where dish water had got him. He found his backpack in a small cramped cubby and had to yank it out. He unzipped the main pocket and took out a bent, slightly smaller than average envelope. All that was written on the envelope was this “ E. 538” He slid the envelope in his back pocket, put on his backpack one strap at a time and clocked out. He left through the wilderness, impulsively taking a cup from the table as he went and throwing it away in the can that sat just inside the gate leading to the sidewalk. The mailtruck hadn’t moved. He stopped to look at it for a moment before he left the outer gate of the back parlor. He started briskly south. He didn’t glance back but turned the first corner he could, colliding with a mailwoman in his hurry. Her mailbag fell to the pavement, emory barely staying on his feet, catching himself by the sleeve of the mailwomans light blue shirt and almost toppling them both. He stood up and apologized, then let go of the shirt, she made a face that was flat and wide, terse. The truck rounded the corner behind them. Inside he could make out two floating white faces in the darkness of the truck, as round as saucers.
The envelope was no longer in his back pocket. The mailwoman had reached down to collect her mail and emory got frantically to his hands and knees to find his letter. Emory couldn’t find the words explaining to the woman his predicament and instead let out a series of yelping “ehm ehm ehm!” ’s. The car stopped across the street and a strange body emerged like a tall narrow black cone, only the face exposed. It stepped out of the truck and approached Emory and the mailwoman. After checking what felt like every letter in the pile, Emory found his own at the bottom. He’d had to scrape his fingernails on the rough pavement to pick it up. He felt a hand on his shoulder and flinched. It was the mailwoman, the strangely dressed cone-like man stopped several feet away as if by some unspoken law, and with tone as if punctuated by regular capitalization said… “Young Sir, I Don’t Want You To Be Upset But You Must Give Me That Letter, You Should Not Be Holding It In The First Place. It Is Not Yours!” The mailwoman was crouched down with Emory. She whispered to him “I’ll keep him occupied while you go ahead.” Then she looked up at the dark cone-shaped figure, who was now taking an object from somewhere in the folds of his cloak, it glinted in the gray afternoon light. As he did this he spoke again in the same strange tone. “My Associate And I Are The Authority On These Matters!” “Go!” She whispered tersely. Emory ran down the sidewalk. The mailwoman stood up asking “What association are you with exactly? My name is Alice. I-I…” she stumbled for a second, “…work for the US Postal Service.” She reached her hand out and the cone shaped figure recoiled, and then aimed the strange black device at center of Alice’s face. Emory stopped running, tongue wagging, at the end of the block, and turned to look back, making eye contact with Alice. In the same moment, the device go off with a dull pop and a strange looking dart stuck to the Alice’s temple without any blood. Emory noticed a second figure on the other side of the car, watching him. Alices eye twitched and she furrowed her brow, and inhaled sharply. She fell. He ran.
< (We see now the Strange Figures Associate watching Emory from afar through a telescope. When Emory rounds another corner, he closes the Telescope and looks at his Partner. Alice is on the ground, laying still, with a small black suction cup, which has a short rod protruding from the back and a black feathered tail at its end like the back of an arrow, stuck to the side of her face. She blinks but does not move.)
Emory is walking quickly down an unfamiliar street. He recognizes a nearby overpass. He passes someone in a shabby overcoat with their face nearly covered in bandages. All but one eye. He continues on until reaching an odd building on a run down block. The building is shaped like a windmill, only an imitation as if in a cartoon, with no hope of operation it sits a little slumped as if depressed by the sun. He walks around the side of the round structure, running his hand along the dry surface until he reaches a mail slot, above which are scribed the same numbers, in small black steel type, as had been written on his envelope. He pushes up the flap and slips the envelope inside. Then he walks to the back side of the windmill and goes up five wooden steps which lead to a small wooden platform raised a couple of feet off the ground, and looks through a peephole. Inside is a small woman sitting at a desk. The room is entirely dark except for light coming from a little diamond shaped window near the top of the windmill as well as an old dim lamp sitting on the womans desk, taking up too much space. >
After a minute or two of rifling through her paperwork, checking a detail here and making a note there, the woman noticed the letter with a start and went to pick it up, she seemed very old and slow, yet sturdy for her size (about the size of a child). She brought the letter to her desk and sat down. She opened the letter with a small pen knife. Her desk was very cluttered and there were torn empty envelopes scattered all over the floor, torn in the same couple of ways. She took the letter from within the envelope, it was on yellow lined paper. She unfolded it and began to read. As she read she made little muttering sounds as well as slurps and coughs, which gradually increased in frequency until her throat sounded quite coarse, at which point, about half way through reading, she stood up to get herself some water. On the other side of the room, just beyond the desk was a water cooler and getting up to reach it she brought with her a very plain looking yellow tin cup with a handle, like one might bring camping. The water cooler made a “glub” sound as she pulled down the little the red lever, dispensing steaming hot water, and making a tinny sound as the cup filled, gradually rising in pitch. When she had gotten her water and returned to her seat she began reading the rest of the letter, sipping her water now too. She remarked under her breath at certain moments and scrutinized others. When she was done, she put the letter down and stroked her mustache. Suddenly and without making very much sound, she began to cry. Emory watched this and squinted slightly. Did she know he was watching her through the peephole? She must’ve heard him coming up the stairs. Taking his head away from the peephole, Emory noticed that the sky had become a dull orange color. He slowly stepped down from the platform and looked around, sniffing at the air. In the small dirty lot there wasn’t much. An old tarp, an abandoned car. Under a tree he saw what looked to be a set of scuba gear that someone had left out for anyone to take. Blue plastic flippers and roughed black floatation devices. He thought of taking the objects home. Wearing the flippers inside, using the big black clips to secure the blocky life vest around his chest. The shadow of the tree made a crips outline along the cement. When he looked up the sun was in his eyes.

Everything You Need To Know About Fall Weddings
Tumblr media
Cooler temps, cozy scarves, and pumpkin spice everything. If we're speaking your language, a fall wedding may be right up your alley.
But, before you fall in love with a fall wedding, read our guide to discover what's in season, what's in vogue, and what to take into consideration.
The Skinny on Autumn Weather
Autumn is known for being a bit more brisk than the preceding summer months; however, depending on where you live, you may experience warmer-than-average weather. In the U.S., average autumn temperatures range from 72° in sunny Florida to a chilly 27° in Alaska.
In Arizona, October is the ideal time of year to have an outdoor wedding. Not too hot and not too cold.
Host your autumnal affair in Massachusetts and you'll get the quintessential fall fête with chillier temps and changing leaves.
While summer months in San Francisco are a bit foggy, autumn clears up the skies and you can enjoy an Indian summer wedding in November.
So, again, if you're planning a wedding during this season, remember that the weather varies greatly based on which part of the country you're in.
Whatever your wedding date may be, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on weather predictions, and inform your guests if they should bring a sweater, jacket, etc. And if your autumn event is going to be outdoors, have a contingency plan in place just in case.

Fall Holidays
Another reason to love fall? It's the start of the holiday season! From Halloween to Thanksgiving, there's no shortage of reasons to celebrate during this time of year. (Do Black Friday and Cyber Monday count as holidays? No?)
Whether you host your wedding on a holiday weekend is up to you, but in general it's a good idea to steer clear of major holidays such as Thanksgiving. That said, it could be fun to have your wedding on, say, Veteran's Day weekend when some of your guests may have the following Monday off work.
Fall is also the start of football season, with NFL games on Sundays and college football on Saturdays. If you have a diehard Bama fan in your wedding party, they'd be mighty disappointed if your big day was the same day as the big game. Why not get creative by incorporating football into your wedding? Putting your favorite team's logo on your wedding desserts or naming a signature cocktail after them is a good way to get your team spirit on.

Fall Wedding Pros & Cons
There are tons of advantages to getting married in the fall:
Gorgeous foliage
Typically temperate weather
Lots of seasonally-inspired décor
Possible off-season discounts to take advantage of
Plus, because peak wedding season is waning in most parts of the country, it may be easier for you to book your venue on a specific date or get your first choice of vendors.
However, there are some disadvantages to be aware of:
As we've mentioned, autumn weather can be variable, not to mention even cold, rainy, or snowy on the East Coast!
Fall holidays can cause potential date conflicts
Daylight Savings Time ends, which means some states will experience a really early sunset (and that could affect the timing of your wedding ceremony and photos!)
Be sure to check with your photographer about the earlier sunset's infamous "golden hour." This is the prime time to take outdoor wedding photos, and it's worth planning your ceremony around.

Autumn Color Palette
Do a Google image search for "Fall Weddings" and you'll no doubt see tons of deep reds, oranges, and browns. Although this color palette mimics the changing of the leaves and provides natural warmth to any style of décor, don't be boxed in by the "fall foliage" feel!
Wanna get a bit more modern with your fall color palette? Consider using gold or copper for a bit of glitz and glam, deep plum and emerald green for elegance, or neutral shades like champagne, cream, and slate gray.
Tumblr media
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen
If your wedding location is in a cooler climate, you may want to pick a heavier fabric for your bridesmaid dresses or have your entourage wear boleros or pashminas to keep the chill at bay. Deep jewel tones, glimmering metallics, and long-sleeved bridesmaid dresses are all lovely options for autumn attire.
The groomsmen can get creative with their fall wardrobe, too! How about argyle socks or plaid ties? Smart navy or gray suits are a sophisticated choice with these bold accessories.
Tumblr media
Working With What's In Season
When you buy what's in season, you get food and flowers at the peak of their supply when costs are normally lower. Plus, when they're locally grown they don't need to be shipped halfway around the globe. So not only do you save money, but you also reduce your carbon footprint. Win-win.
—Fall Wedding Food—
The fall harvest boasts some comforting eats. In-season vegetables include root veggies like turnips and rutabagas, along with all sorts of squash, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes. How does a steaming bowl of butternut squash soup sound for a starter?
Colorful fruits like apples, cranberries, pears, and pomegranates are also available in abundance. Besides incorporating these fruits into your menu, consider decorating your cake with them, or giving some of these edible beauties as wedding favors.
Tumblr media
Fall Wedding Flowers
While many flowers bloom year-round, there are some in-season fall flowers that are pure wedding perfection:
Dahlias are absolutely gorgeous in a wedding bouquet, and deep burgundy dahlias are especially beautiful in the fall.
Garden roses are the perfect alternative to peonies this time of year.
Anemones, with their striking black centers, are a sophisticated addition to a bouquet.
Marigolds come in festive fall colors of gold, orange, and red.
Sunflowers add a touch of sunshine to any fall affair.
Protea is an unexpected addition to a super-unique bridal bouquet.
We love the idea of using autumnal foliage, seasonal berries, or even acorns as part of your floral arrangements or table décor. You may also want to check out in-season fillers such as scabiosa pods, which lend a modern yet rustic touch.
Tumblr media
Fall Catering Trends
The biggest trend in fall wedding food? Comfort Cuisine. Both sweet and savory.
We've noticed that caterers get pretty creative with fall wedding menus. How about beginning the meal with a creamy soup in a hollowed-out mini pumpkin? A harvest salad featuring roasted butternut squash, dried cranberries, and goat cheese would make an excellent next course. We've even seen full-on Thanksgiving-esque wedding buffets with all the fixings—from turkey and stuffing to mashed potatoes and gravy.
For dessert, you may want to consider a hot cocoa or coffee bar with cinnamon-sugar donuts, mulled apple cider with cinnamon stick stirrers, or a dessert table with seasonal fruit pies.
And anything pumpkin. Obviously.
Tumblr media
Fall Wedding Cake Trends
Fall wedding cakes are taking on a more rustic style, with drizzles of ganache or caramel, "rough" buttercream icing, or no icing at all! Naked cakes are completely devoid of outside icing, and look stunning decorated with fall fruits, such as figs.
Seasonal flavors include apple spice cake, gingerbread, or, you guessed it, pumpkin spice cake. Red velvet would also be a lovely choice to complement a deep red color palette.
Tumblr media
Autumn-Inspired Wedding Favors
Edible wedding favors are always in good taste (sorry, couldn't resist!), and fall is the best time of year to jump on this trend. In-season fruits like pomegranates lend a pop of color to each place setting, while candied apples would delight any guest. Cute bottles of maple syrup or local honey perfectly fit the season. Mini donuts or pie-on-a-stick are surefire hits, and DIY s'mores packages or mix-your-own hot chocolate cones are a sweet treat for guests to take home.
