I'm assuming there's going to be some sort of twist with the Vees or Alastor's powers in S2 because I KNOW he'd probably tank them easily- Vox and Velvette's domains are both built off of radio waves, right? He seemed to be able to cancel out Vox's hypnosis in Stayed Gone. And Velvette also dabbles in magic but like... she hasn't been in Hell nearly as long as Alastor, and he probably practiced in life, too.

Obviously there's still Valentino but. That's two out of three Vees. I'm sure the rest of the crew could team up to take down Val and win.

there's like hardly any evidence for this position i'm about to take but i actually think vox and alastor are evenly matched power-wise. val does say that alastor almost beat vox once, and while you can interpret that line in all kinds of ways, it does imply to me at least that alastor can't easily 1v1 vox in a full-on confrontation. stayed gone was different because that was a propaganda battle and vox was off his game (ofc, we don't know what him being on top of his game looks like yet), so alastor wrecked his shit with psychological warfare, but when it comes to actual raw strength i think alastor would really struggle, and up against all three of the vees together he would be entirely outclassed

It deeply upsets me that there aren’t a lot of analysis posts off of Lesley, at least ones that don’t completely mischaracterize her. Often times Lesley is watered down to just being “Yellow’s Mom” by the fandom and nothing else. Lesley is tragic. She is not motherly, she’s a prisoner. A prisoner in a prison partially of her own design, but a prisoner nonetheless. matpat, and the david theory in general has rotted people’s brains. It’s fine to have an interpretation of a character, I could care less, but it’s an entirely different thing all together to completely miss the point of a character. Watching the line “you’re one of my favorites….” be brushed aside for what is otherwise a completely unserious line is infuriating. There’s no actual proof that Lesley is Yellow’s mother outside of theories. When she says “you’re not my real son” it’s more so in the way that she is the creator, and he is her creation, not that Lesley is actually an author, she just thinks she is. The trio represent parts of her, almost everything they do is by her hands. They’re miserable because Lesley is miserable. She believes herself to be an author, a creator, but she doesn’t hold any real power, just a small amount. Yellow didn’t scale the staircase on his own, everything was meticulously laid out by Lesley. Because, the truth is, he represents a part of Lesley that she has long since forgotten, the part of her that genuinely wants to change, to progress instead of regress. By giving yellow his batteries and bringing him up stairs, she is checking that she is still alive. That there is still that small part of her that can change.

But, as previously stated, she doesn’t have any real power, and she has no interest in truly changing. She has strings of her own, she can’t change even if she wanted to. Lesley has a tendency of setting up scenarios where the puppets are given a false sense of control. She does it with red in transport, and she does it again in electricity with yellow. In her mind she’s teaching them, teaching them that things cannot stray outside of what she has laid out for them. It’s her own twisted way of helping. Yellow, unlike red, possesses a genuine ability to question things and a natural curiosity. Lesley knows this. That’s precisely why his batteries are denied from him, unless Lesley hands them to him on a silver platter when convenient. Yellow has to pay the price of being constantly disoriented, to be in a constant state of confusion because if he isn’t then that would entail Lesley addressing what is pulling on her strings. The batteries are a threat to this cycle, hence why Lesley gifts him a book of false knowledge. A book of nothing. A red herring. She knows where that book is going, straight into the shredder as it always does. Where it should be. Because ever so slightly out of shot at the end of her room sits a door that creaks open every once in a while and she dare not question it. A door that she ignores as she continues on playing her piano as she always does. As it should be. No questions to be had. Just the keys of a piano echoing emptily in a dilapidated dollhouse, and the ghost of an artist who lost herself eons ago.

okay so i know everyone's pointing out the obvious about arcane season one being a mirror image of roman tragedy, and season two is a reflection of shakespearean plays, but...

i have no idea if this has been said or thought on before, but...

marcus aurelius was one of the "good" roman emperors before the fall of rome and what it meant to be a roman emperor in the great roman empire. and with that being said, he was the last good emperor of rome with the end of his reign ending the overall tranquility and "good" government in rome

so, all i'm thinking is that, even though he was a very shitty sheriff in piltover, having gone back against grayson and ending up ruining not just vander, powder, jinx, claggor, mylo... that whole family situation, but also ruining the peace within zaun. and in seven years time, the peace of piltover be gone, too. that is, following the death of marcus. marcus is by no means a morally good character (like any character in arcane), but it's the fact that he did make SOME good choices throughout season one before his death even if they're arguable (saving vi's life, trying to cut it off with silco). the internal workings of piltover's government and the way they neglected zaun so heavily led to the civil (?) war that we are now seeing in season two!

and who came after marcus aurelius was his son, commodus, who (reading this off of google) was known to be cruel and and corrupt. i personally don't think that every single arcane character is just meant to mirror one roman historical figure from the classical era because that would be very one-dimensional, but! i do believe that some of this can also be mirrored in

and i think that's interesting because of the way in act one we see caitlyn push vi away for holding caitlyn back from killing jinx and stuff. obviously act one isn't meant to have direct themes of roman tragedy, but it's just interesting to me

Like all the other specifics for the stories, their ages / locations / accents etc. are a bit vague on purpose. I like to leave the room for everyone’s own imagination based on what they’re familiar with. It makes things a bit fuzzy for the timeline sometimes, but I just prefer having the blurred reality instead of basing it on real places and tracking a firm timeline.

But generally, I eyeball the gap between CYE and LMT to be maybe a couple of years.

The later on in the timeline we get with the newer published parts, I’ve been thinking that Kizzy, as the oldest of the four, are now getting closer to the mid-twenties mark and maybe over. 

The age order is: Isac as the oldest (by two critical weeks🤺), then Kit, Liam’s a year younger, and then Nathan. -> Nat’s age difference to the others & the gap between the stories could technically vary +/- an extra year or so, depending on whatever length of uni you’d want to imagine.

So basically, the canon is vague and they are all twenty-ish something in CYE and LMT xx
