Show me your IFAK. If you don’t have one, GET ONE. It could literally save your life. I always carry an IFAK and I always have a trauma kit nearby. My IFAK contents; Bleeding: -IBD (Israeli Battle Dressing) -C.A.T. (Combat application tourniquet) -Dermabond (miscellaneous) Airway: -OPA (Oropharyngeal Airway) -NPA (Nasopharyngeal Airway), preferred, needs replacement Breathing: -Chest Seal @northamericanrescue (may use plastic packaging and tape) -14g needles (needle chest decompression) -one way mask (for mouth to mouth resuscitation) Shock: -emergency blanket Miscellaneous: -Trauma Shears (I use Raptor by @leathermantools - @sharpie for marking WARNING: Carrying all these will be useless if you are untrained. We discuss some aspects of mental toughness as well as making that transition from a soldier to a civilian. Chris was also a teammate of Staff Sergeant Matthew McClintock who was killed in action just over a year ago in Afghanistan. Matthew died while protecting his teammates, doing what he loved, on the field of battle. Great post from @fisherad1 !!! “ New study on pediatric tourniquet use. They enrolled 13 children ages 2 to 7 years old (mean 4.2 years). The tourniquets (CAT) were applied to 11 upper extremities and 13 lower extremities and had 100% occlusion. Additionally, they had 7 preschool children and tested in 12 limbs (5 UE and 7 LE) with 100% efficacy (95% CI 73.5-100%). The range for arm and leg circumference: 13-24 and 24.5-34.5 cm, respectively. They stopped the study early because there was 100% success rate. I wish they would have continued. . . Petite comparaison entre 2 BELLY-POUCH qui se fixent sous la plaque pareballe du porte plaque. Ici 2 grosses poches Medic plus grosse que par exemple la ORTHOS ou d'autres modèles Tiger Tasmanian. Bien pratique vu le maque de place sur certains porte plaques minimalist es et lorsque qu'on est toujours en véhicules vous empêchant l'emporte arrière.
