Berry Breadcrumb Cake

This is a slight modification of this recipe that I found written by Colleen Sowa. It has such a lovely texture to it 💕

Ingredients:

4 lg eggs/approximately 1 cup of egg substitute (I'm not entirely sure because I used eggs for this)

1/2 tsp LorAnn cheesecake flavor

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/3 tsp ground cinnamon

1/3 tsp salt

1/4 cup unflavored oat milk

1 1/4 cup sugar

2 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs

1 1/2 cup of your berries of choice (I used blackberries and blueberries)

Instructions:

Pre-heat your oven to 350° F and grease your baking dish with some butter.

Beat the eggs, extracts, milk, spices, and sugar until fully incorporated. Stir in the bread crumbs and berries until just combined.

Cover the bowl with a lid or some cling film and sit in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

Pour the chilled batter into your baking dish and bake for about 40 minutes (I went an extra 15 due to the size of my dish, but preferably stick to 40 minutes).

Remove from the oven and let rest for about 20 minutes or until warm but not hot.

Enjoy 🫶

I had some for breakfast with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream. You could also enjoy as is or with your favorite sweet glaze. Some fun variations you could do are adding white chocolate chips or chunks, dried lavender or rosemary, mixing in some tea to the batter (earl grey would be good for this), or using different fruit.

Family guy cut away scenes I made up

“Man this is almost worse than when I ate too manu melatonin gummies”

“Hmm I wonder what these are…” peter reads lable

“Melon toe nin? huh well it sounds like a fruit, might as well. and their gummies!” Peter tries a gummy

“Wow! these are pretty good, it’s almost like they are trying to cover up the taste of a possible hormone with a starchy berry flavor” He looks directly at the camera breaking the 4th wall.

“Well, I guess due to lack of self control and an undying hatred for myself and others I’ll eat the whole box in a comically large portion to show just how much I want these” Peter dumps entire bottle of melatonin gummies into his hand, and comincally eats all of them and makes a exaggerated gulping sound.

He then see’s there is one more and picks it up in an eating disorder esc way, in which he says “You’re doing this because you deserve it” with a sad voice cleqrly meant to symbolize he desveres it.

He then goes “Huh.. the cap says to only eat 2, 30 minutes before going to bed.. weird gummies.” moment of pause “well I don’t feel any differen-“ he then proceeds ti fall face first violently into the carpet.

When he comes to, he is a dumpster wherein the camera pans out to reveal a large “Welcom 2 Las Vegas” sign, which is puncuated by a seagull flging face first into the sign. After the seagull falls, a little boy (meant to represent a small brown child to enhance the already racially present ideals prevelant within family guy) grabbing the bird and saying with a thick accent “we will eat well tonight” and runs off giggling

It then cuts to a scene where peter is sitting in a library clearly about to talk directly to the audience with perfecf posture and hands clasped over his lap.

“Dear watchers, it has come to my attention that due to the innaproprate timing of that joke I must apologize for my actions in a public and heartfelt way, ergo I have found it in myself to do it in the best way I know how.” Peter then pulls out a ukulele and gets ready to strum before the screen pauses and the subtitles read “due to low viewer count we have decided to target our younger audience instead, just like colleen ballinger, also this cutaway has been extremely long but becquse of your short attention spans it probably has been even longer for you”

After that, the scene cuts a to a curtain that says “Back to Las Vegas” where it then cuts to peter back in the dumpster where he looks sheepishly at the camera and says “ I sleep walk”
