Star Wars: Rise of the clone rebellion part 1

Episode 1: Aftermath Part 1

With the clone wars at its all time height a Republic victory seems almost certain, however certain events were in play, events that would change the galaxy forever.

Kallar:

Jedi general Depa Billaba, Commander Gray and Captian Styles as well as their troops were fighting against the droids however their losses were growing heavy.

"If Commander Dume doesn't return with the reinforcements...Gray said.

"My padawan will be back soon, don't worry." Billiba said.

"MASTER!" A voice yelled.

Jedi padawan Caleb Dume slid down a snowy slope jumping and landing next to his master and the Clones.

"I'm here." Caleb said.

"Caleb where are our reinforcements?" Billaba asked.

"Don't worry they're coming." Caleb said.

Gray looked around not seeing anyone.

"Well where are they?" He asked.

"Caleb?" Depa asked.

"Trust me." Caleb said.

"Well how many are there?" Styles asked.

"Six of them." Caleb said.

"Six! We're done." Styles said dismally.

"Yeah that's what I thought too, but you should see these clones...they're different." Caleb said.

A loud rumble cut through the battlefield and the droids stopped in their tracks turning their attention to the hill behind them.

"Fire." The commander ordered the droids fired a stream of blaster bolts up the hill.

Suddenly a massive boulder rolled down the hill flattening several droids.

From the dust five members of clone force 99 Hunter, Wrecker, Trix, Cobalt and Tech five out guns ablaze.

"MAKE A HOLE!" Wrecker exclaimed as they engaged the droids.

Meanwhile the sixth member of the squad Crosshair was up on a ledge sniping the droids from above.

"I don't belive it, that's clone force 99." Gray said in shock.

The batch continued fighting the droids.

"Crosshair let's get these tanks moving." Hunter said over the comm.

Crosshair attached the grapplehook attachment to his firepuncher.

"Sir yes sir." He said firing and attaching the tanks to each other.

Wrecker began shoving the tanks away.

The pilot of the middle tank poked his head out of the hatch and saw what was happening.

"HEY STOP THAT! Adjust the stabilisers we're going over." He ordered.

The droids did so but it was ultimately in vain.

Tech ran up to the tank droid popper in hand.

"Hey clanker. CATCH!" He exclaimed throwing the popper and taking out the droid.

With a more moments of heavy heaving Wrecker managed to shove the tanks over the side of the cliff.

"Well I guess I'm in charge now." One droid remarked before getting shot.

Tech attached a grenade to another droid.

"Hey, what's that?" the droid asked confused.

Tech pressed a button on his datapad and the grenade began beeping.

"Oh no." The droid groaned before being blown up along with it's remaining fellows.

Crosshair slid down the slope and rejoined the batch as they made their way to the jedi and clones waiting nearby.

"If you're done hiding done there you'd better get moving, there's another droid battalion approaching." Hunter said.

"The general is the one who gives the orders." Styles snapped.

"No captian he's right, order the troops to move out." Billaba said.

Styles nodded and walked off to instruct the troops.

Billaba, Caleb and Gray went to greet the batch.

"There you are little jedi, you missed all the fun." Wrecker said.

"Watching your team in action was the fun." Caleb grinned.

"Care to introduce me to your new friends Caleb?" Billaba asked.

"Yes master, This is Hunter, Wrecker, Trix, Cobalt, Tech and Crosshair." Caleb said introducing each member of the bad batch.

"While fun isn't quite the expression I'd use, your exploits were certainly impressive." Billaba said.

"Exploits?" Wrecker asked.

"Don't overthink it Wrecker." Crosshair said chewing on a toothpick.

"Would any of you mind telling me where my actual reinforcements are?" Billaba asked.

"Rerouted to the captital, we're all you're getting." Hunter said.

"We're all you need." Wrecker said.

"Technically the general will not need any of us, the war may soon be over." Tech said.

"How do you figure?" Cobalt asked.

"I am referring to the encrypted comm chatter, clone intelligence reports general Kenobi has found and engaged general Grevious on utapau." Tech said.

"If he captures or kills Grevious the entire separatist leadership will collapse." Trix said.

"And most likely the droid armies along with them." Tech nodded.

"A fascinating theory, but sadly not one we can control from here." Billaba agreed.

"Any orders general, or shall we do what we do?" Hunter asked putting on his helmet.

"Let's get moving." Wrecker cheered.

"Well Caleb, shall we let them "do what they do"? " Billaba asked.

"Only if I get to go with them." Caleb said eagerly.

"Of course." Billaba nodded chuckling.

"You sure about this kid, we move fast?" Hunter asked.

"Good, fast is the only way I know." Caleb grinned before running off ahead.

"I like him." Wrecker chuckled as he and the others ran after Caleb.

Hunter gave Billaba a quick two finger salute before following the rest of his squad.

Feeling a sudden sense of dread Billaba turned her attention Gray who was looking at his holo disk, the hologram of a strange hooded figure displayed.

"Execute order 66." The figure ordered.

The hologram ended.

Gray and Billaba stared at one other for a moment before Gray suddenly raised and fired his blaster.

Caleb turned back sending his master's fear and shock.

Billiba disarmed Gray but now Styles and the rest of the troops were now firing.

Caleb ran to his master igniting his lightsaber.

"MASTER!" He exclaimed.

The bad batch all turned around shocked by what they were witnessing.

Billiba turned to Caleb while desperately deflecting the shots from her troops.

"You must run! RUN CALEB!" Billaba yelled getting overwhelmed by the Clones.

Just mere seconds later Depa Billaba was overwhelmed and killed by her own troops.

Caleb stopped in his tracks and saw the batch stop a few feet away.

"STAY AWAY FROM ME." He yelled before running off into the forest.

The bad batch stood still, all stunned by the sight they'd just witnessed.

"Wha-What just happened?" Trix asked confused.

"The comm channel is repeating one directive, execute order 66." Tech stated.

"Yeah I heard that too, what's order 66?"Wrecker asked.

"I am not certain." Tech said.

Hunter quickly formulated a plan.

"Trix, Tech talk to the reg captian and find out what's going on, Wrecker and Cobalt stall anyone who tries to follow, Crosshair and I will find the kid." Hunter said.

The batch nodded and split up.

Hunter and Crosshair ran down the slope after Caleb.

They'd been running for several minutes when Tech got on the comm.

"Hunter we have a situation." He said.

"Tell me something I don't know Tech." Hunter snapped.

"It appears the regs have been ordered to execute the jedi." Tech stated.

"What? Which ones?" Hunter asked surprised.

"ALL of them, they're saying the jedi have committed treason." Tech told him.

"That would explain things." Crosshair said.

"It doesn't begin to begin things." Hunter snapped.

"You guys should probably get back." Trix said.

"Can't, haven't found the kid yet." Hunter replied.

Crosshair looked up and saw Caleb hiding in the trees.

"Wrong." He said firing a shot and knocking Caleb to the ground.

Caleb got up and activated his lightsaber, Crosshair firing shots at him.

"No, Crosshair stand down!" Hunter exclaimed trying to get his sniper to stop shooting but Crosshair ignored him.

Caleb knocked Crosshair's sniper away from him and pointed his lightsaber at him.

"Don't!" Hunter exclaimed.

Caleb kicked Crosshair into a tree knocking him out.

Caleb ran off, Hunter in pursuit.

Wrecker and Cobalt were waiting by the trees when a trio of clones came up to them.

"Where's the padawan?" The squad leader asked.

"Oh don't worry, Hunter's handling it." Wrecker said.

"We have orders from the supreme Chancellor." The trooper said.

"That's good, but like he said Hunter's handling it." Cobalt said.

The troopers looked at each other and nodded.

"Step aside troopers." The leader ordered before he and his squad shoved past the two commandoes.

"Sure thing boss." Wrecker grumbled sarcastically.

"Hunter, you've got regs inbound." Cobalt said over the comm.

Hunter didn't awnser, too busy chasing Caleb.

Caleb had trapped himself on a ledge and tensed when Hunter showed up.

"Stay back." Caleb said voice trembling with fear.

"Just hear me out kid." Hunter said taking off his helmet and putting his pistol aside.

"NO, YOU KILLED HER." Caleb yelled.

"The others did, I'm just as confused as you are." Hunter said.

Meanwhile Crosshair woke up grabbing his rifle.

Hunter was trying to approach Caleb who pointed his lightsaber at him.

"Stay back, STAY BACK." He yelled.

"I can help you, come with me." Hunter said extending a hand.

Caleb looked at Hunter as though considering his offer when he suddenly jumped high into the air landing neatly at the other end of the cliffside and disappearing into the trees.

Crosshair appeared next to Hunter.

"Where's the padawan?" He demanded.

"I stunned him when he jumped, he didn't make it." Hunter lied before walking away.

Crosshair scanned the area and once he was satisfied he followed Hunter.

The bad batch all reunited at the top of the hill.

"Tech, start the ship, we're getting out of here." Hunter ordered.

Tech nodded and ran ahead, the others walking behind.

Wrecker, Trix and Cobalt were having a muttered discussion about what had happened.

"I don't get it, we were all getting along just fine, then suddenly this happens." Wrecker said.

"Yeah, there's definitely something unusual going on here." Cobalt said.

"The only thing going on here is that the jedi were rightfully executed." Crosshair snapped.

The others were about to snap back when Hunter intervened.

"Alright guys enough, Tech get us out of here." Hunter ordered climbing onto the ship.

"Affirmative." Tech nodded.

The batch all entered the ship which took off and headed into hyperspace.

Kamino:

The Marauder came out of hyperspace and began heading towards the planet.

"It's good to be home, how long's it been?" Wrecker asked.

"208 rotations on a standard cycle, but galactic zone changes put the estimated figure at about 105." Tech said.

"Huh." Wrecker said confused.

"A long time Wrecks." Trix clarified and Wrecker nodded.

Crosshair looked at Hunter.

"You sure that padawan died when he fell?" Crosshair asked.

"Course I'm sure, why?" Hunter asked.

"Usually when you shoot someone into a lake you look down not up." Crosshair said.

"Some people don't like to watch." Hunter said.

As the ship approached tipoca city a pair of V wings came up beside them.

"Incoming vessel, transmit your clearance codes." A pilot ordered.

"Don't they know who we are?" Cobalt asked confused.

"It is most likely a drill." Tech told him "Transmitting clearance codes."

"Codes accepted, proceed." The pilot said he and his partner flying away.

Tech landed the ship in the hangar and the batch stepped off.

They were greeted to Shock troopers walking around the hangar alongside the usual personnel.

"Shock troopers, what's the Corscaunt guard doing here." Hunter said confused.

"This isn't a drill." Tech said looking up from his datapad.

"Aww man, what did we miss now." Wrecker said irritated.

A shock trooper came over.

"The end of the war." He said.

"Say again trooper?" Hunter asked.

"General Grevious has been destroyed on utapau, the separatist leadership has collapsed, the war is over." The shock trooper said.

"Just like I said." Tech said.

"It is just like you said." Wrecker said.

Just the two shock troopers walked past with a body on a stretcher, a lightsaber rolling onto the floor.

"Is there a problem." The shock trooper asked.

Hunter shook his head.

"No, no problem, we'll just head to our barracks then." He said.

"Best hurry, there's a general assembly at 15:00." The trooper said.

The batch all nodded and headed to their barrack.

As the batch headed down to their barracks they noticed the Clones were acting similar to Kallar.

"It's not just the troops on Kallar, all the regs are acting strange." Cobalt said.

"Let's test that theory." Tech said "Excuse me trooper, what division are you-."

"Step aside." The Clone snapped shoving him aside.

"Oh, well they seem to me." Tech said disgruntled.

"Rude." Trix scoffed.

"Extremely." Tech nodded.

"Oh get over it." Crosshair muttered.

"Not not how he reacted when it was him." Cobalt muttered to Wrecker who grinned.

The batch got to their barracks and went inside.

"Good to be back." Wrecker said.

"Smell's getting worse." Trix said wrinkling his nose in disgust.

"You're still new, you'll get used to it." Hunter said.

"Speak for yourself." Crosshair snapped shoving past them.

"I'll get the board" Wrecker said going to a board on the wall and carving tally marks into it "Eleven more successful missions, like there was any doubt." Wrecker said.

"Kallar wasn't a win." Trix said.

"Says who, we completed our objective." Wrecker said confused.

"Not all of them, Hunter let that jedi kid escape, do you want to keep lying to us." Crosshair snapped turning to Hunter.

"I don't usually consider executing our commanders a mission objective." Hunter snapped with a glare of his own.

"Orders are orders." Crosshair said simply.

"Since when." Hunter said.

Crosshair just glared.

"I don't understand, the jedi fought alongside the Clones for years, how could they turn on them like that!"Trix exclaimed confused.

"Probably due to the regs' programming." Tech piped up.

"What programming?" Hunter asked confused.

"It has been well documented that the kamanoins inhibited the cognitive function of clones to engineer them to follow orders without question." Tech said.

"We sure don't." Wrecker said smacking Crosshair with Lula.

"Obviously we are different, they manipulated our DNA resulting in your brute strength, Hunter's enhances senses, Cobalt's force sensitivity, Crosshair's sharpshooting skills and my exceptional mind." Tech said, "My guess is we are immune to the programming, although I cannot be certain." He added glancing at Crosshair.

"What about Trix, he's a reg, an unaltered one at that." Hunter asked confused.

"Yeah, if all the Clones were programmed, then I should have reacted like the others." Trix said.

Tech peered at him in curiosity.

"I am not certain, I assume it is simply defective, in you at least." Tech said.

"Lucky me." Trix said.

"Very." Tech agreed.

An announcement came on over the loudspeaker.

"All troopers report for debriefing immediately." It said.

"This is one meeting I don't want to miss." Hunter said.

"First time for everything." Tech said as they headed out the door.

Assembly hall:

A massive hologram of Palpatine was giving a speech.

"The remaining jedi will be hunted down and defeated...the attempt on my life has left me scarred and deformed." Palpatine said.

"You can say that again." Wrecker muttered to Cobalt who snorted in amusement.

Hunter noticed a small figure watching them from where Lama u and Nala Se were watching.

"Hunter, what is it?" Trix asked.

Hunter looked up and saw the figure was gone.

"Nothing." Hunter said shaking his head.

"...And to ensure the continuing security of the galaxy, THE REPUBLIC SHALL BECOME, THE FIRST GALACTIC EMPIRE!" Palpatine declared.

"Galactic empire." Trix said surprised.

"FOR A SAFE AND SECURE...SOCIETY!" Palpatine finished.

"Still don't think the regs are programmed." Tech said to the others.

The batch looked around, all the other clones were cheering loudly.

After the meeting the batch were heading to the mess hall, discussing the speech.

"Galactic empires, we're soldiers of the Republic." Trix said not happy with what palpatine had said.

"Republic, empire, what's the difference?" Crosshair asked him.

"The termination of the jedi is a big one for me." Cobalt said.

Hunter held up a hand.

"Lads, we've got company." He said.

The batch all turned around to see a young girl looking at them, Hunter recognised her as the figure he'd seen with Nala Se.

"What's that?" Wrecker asked surprised.

"Young human female, origins...uncertain." Tech said.

The girl smiled.

"My names' Omega, I was wondering when you'd all come back." She said.

"You know who we are?" Hunter asked.

"Hunter, Trix, Cobalt, Tech, Wrecker and Crosshair, you're clone force 99." Omega said.

"What're you doing on Kamino kid?" Hunter asked.

"Her job." Nala Se said suddenly appearing behind Omega.

"Omega is me medical assistant, one with a curious mind that causes her to wander, come Omega we have work to do." She said gesturing for Omega to follow her.

Omega smiled and waved to the batch as she left.

"This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder." Hunter said.

The others nodded in agreement.
