Joanne had never more beautiful than she was on our wedding day. Attended by our parents and my sister, it was a small affair. It did not matter much to either of us, as the only one that mattered was one another

Clyde asked for Mama and Papa’s rings this morning. I can’t believe him, they mean so much to Mama. It seems they’ve already discussed the whole proposal and subsequent arrangements. She is quite thrilled for the marriage, which I am not upset about, but no one has told me Clyde was even proposing! I have not even had a full conversation with this Bryson woman and yet she is to live in our cramped apartment within the following weeks? How could he be so brash and not inform me? He seems to forget I am his sister and my opinion matters just as much as Mama’s on my future sister-in-law. I pray she is not a slob.

I broke the rules, a lot when setting up Gen. 1. I rerolled quite a bit to get the rolls I felt would work best for what I had in mind for my little family. It’ll be better in latter gens, I’ll try to let it be. Clyde has 2 jobs, he’ll work a maxis career, we’ll pretend it’s him working labor, first. Later he’ll pick up the family and move out west.
A little backstory; Emeline and her husband Johannes moved to the States from Germany/Prussia (haven’t decide which) in the early 1830s. They settled in Pennsylvania and raised their two children, Clara and Clyde. Johannes died in 1839, so Clyde is taking care of his Mom and sister. So, let’s meet the sims!

Clyde and I fought today. I confronted him on his sudden engagement to Miss Bryson. He snapped back it is none of my concern if he is to marry her  or not. We started shouting about it, I yelled it did matter if she is live with us! Our topic soon turned to my career. At Mama’s urging, I have stopped going to school and now work as a maid for a local wealthy family. Clyde was upset I and Mama had made the decision without him. Is it not irony? He also was not pleased to know I was keeping a portion of my wages for my own pocket. I can not stand him! It is my money and the only thing from me keeping it all is knowing it provides for Mama!

Yesterday marked a year since Father passed on. Clara and I had shed the mourning black several months before. For me, the dark clothing made his death much harder to move on. For Clara, she has grown too tall for her old clothes. It’s hard to believe she is already thirteen! She’s taken up the violin, much to our ears’ displeasure.
Mama continues to dress in mourning. However, she surprised me today when she announced some young ladies would be invited over for tea! You can imagine my shock, it seems quite soon to be searching for a wife, as I assume is Mama’s true intentions. I’m skeptical I shall like any of young women, but we shall see!
