#Clara and the Doctor

Watched an episode with Clara and 11 a couple days ago and they’ve been on my mind since so,, here’s some art of them!

Some people : Clara and the doctor's relationship is purely paternal/platonic.

Me :

Oh yes. It's so paternal/platonic to be happy at the (false) idea that Clara is dating a man who looks like her old self = 11th Doctor. It's so fatherly/platonic to look jealous of Danny. It's so paternal/platonic to play Pretty Woman to Clara. So fatherly/platonic to seek her back after she's been dead for 4 billion years in pain.

It's such a paternal/platonic relationship for Clara to tell the Doctor about another man she wanted to marry but couldn't because HE WAS IMPOSSIBLE ! It's so paternal/platonic that Danny himself tells Clara that she loves the Doctor. It's a paternal/platonic term for Clara to say I love you while looking at the doctor ! Or even better ! :

"If you love me... in any way... You come back." - Clara.

"I come back for you." - Doctor.

And if anyone tries to pretend for a moment that Clara has always had a fatherly relationship with the Doctor, even 11, I remotely tear their eyes out. It was perpetual flirting !

There's no reason the doctor should suddenly love Clara as his daughter after regeneration ! It's still the same fucking person ! Admit it once and for all people ! You simply have a problem with Capaldi's age, which prevents you from accepting the story with Clara as a romance ! I think what annoys me the most is people who go like, "Wow, that's not romantic love, but it's so much more than that, strong and extraordinary." Stop being hypocritical or trying to embellish your point. Clara and the Doctor is a ROMANTIC love story ! The actors themselves fucking confirmed it, and the show couldn't have been clearer ! Why suddenly you need a real direct statement between the two ?! The doctor never said I love you to the women in his life ! Shit ! Oh, and I swear I once saw someone say that their relationship couldn't be romantic, because romantic feeling depends on, get this, sexual attraction !

I find the idea of love so heavenly beautiful that I can't put it into words. To have loved someone to your own ruin, to have been loved more than all the joy and riches and experiences this world could have provided. To love and be loved with no conditions, no ifs and buts. To put someone before you and to be put before everything else. It sounds like possibly the best thing life can offer.

But at the same time, I can't comprehend it.

That unconditional eternal love.

I can't comprehend the possibility of it existing. I can't comprehend loving like that. Being loved like that.

Me, telling myself that it's beautiful that Clara was able to travel on the extra time that the doctor obtained for her, but my heart aches at the idea that she will inevitably end up returning to her point in time where she dies, this time for good. Because nothing is forever.
