AAA I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SLAMPOST ABOUT IT ANYWAYS!!!!!

so oh my god everything was absolutely amazing, (including the giant pizza beforehand) and I apparently stim a lot with these guys because my dad has tons of videos of me covering my face and freaking out. I was like 10 ft away from The Tyler Joseph for car radio, it was insane I was shdhfhah dying, and Josh was just adorable as always. We got a backslide scream which I'm very satisfied with, I met two people behind me who were arguing about whether Tyler or Josh was gayer, I dressed my dad up as Torchie and he only found out who he was when Josh went up on stage with the costume 😭🫶 I literally screamed my mind out during heavydirtysoul (even though I did have to close my eyes for that part because I have a bad fear of fire but it's fine guys) and I got to hear Tyler say "What are you doing??😄" and "No matter how cold it is here, my boy Josh will sweat."

So basically to sum it all up, best experience ever, 10/10 would recommend to new clikkies. Would recommend earplugs as well 🫶💯

i just think hockey connections are neat and the hughes have a lot. so here's a noncomphrehensive review of their connections (as it relates to their teams) through their dad jim. and this also kinda doubles as a background about him.

so jim hughes grew up on long island and has many ties to the area, hence the “comin home” comment from luke during jack’s draft and jack’s walk up song being “i’m coming home”. 

currently jim is a director of player development at CAA hockey (2016-) and previously was the director of player development for the leafs (2009-15). he also has 20 years of coaching experience which has brought him to new jersey, orlando, boston, new hampshire, and toronto. but before all this, he played hockey at providence college (1985-89) which is where he overlapped with tom fitzgerald, current president of hockey operations and gm of the devils, for two years. if you were ever curious why jim and ellen were seated next to the gm of jack and luke’s team at brady tkachuk’s wedding, now you know.

in fact, jim was a huge factor in why fitzgerald attended providence as jim hosted him for his recruiting trip. during jim’s time at providence, he was represented by ray shero who was the gm for the devils from 2015-20.

while jim was an assistant coach with the orlando sun bears (1999-2001), he became acquainted with head coach peter horachek who was a scout for the devils in 2019 and is currently an assistant coach for them.

after orlando jim had been named as an assistant coach for the bruins (2001-03) and that’s where he met, then head coach, robbie ftorek, who became a close family friend. following his tenure with boston he went to new hampshire where he was assistant coach for the manchester monarchs (2003-05) under previous canucks’ head coach bruce boudreau. when jim became head coach (2005-06), his assistant coach was derek clancy who is currently an assistant gm for the leafs and previously was one for the canucks.

then settled in toronto as an assistant coach for the marlies, then as director of player development for the leafs. here jim and the boys got to know leafs legend willy nylander.

St Patricks Day

In front of our house, the starry plough flag of James Connolly flies proudly today. Connolly was a Irish Socialist and Republican who was executed as one of the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising. We celebrate he, Patrick Pearse, and all of the women and men who carried the banner of revolution. And we celebrate those who ran from Crown rule in Ireland, and made new lives in towns like Saskatoon, Boston, Butte, Durango, and carried their Irishness to the far corners of the earth.

For my family, it's also a day to remember people like my uncle Bill(Butte Irish), a hard drinking union tough who would would weep at hearing Liam Clancy sing but get 'animated' talking about Ian Paisley and marching season on garvaghy road in Northern Ireland. And amongst all the people I remember today, my grandmother Glenna is particularly on my mind. She impressed on me at a young age that, "even your college educated Irish family were greeted with signs that said 'workers wanted, Irish need not apply'- its our job to welcome the opressed, to show them kindness, and help them build new lives'

How sadly so many people of Irish heritage in America have forgotten those lessons, and have picked up the mantle of the hatred of immigrants, when they too were hated not so many years ago.

In mass this morning, our priest gave what was probably his last sermon thanks to pancreatic cancer. He's a wonderfully feisty man who speaks a few languages and sings the communion prayer, something which... yeah, even with his shaky voice, is moving... anyhow, his sermon was about the seeing the divine and being the hands of the divine in our communities by taking care of the sick, the poor, the oppressed, and being servants. From an old school Episcopal priest, it's always good to hear the same message as I got from those who raised me, and a great message of renewal in the times where you'd think all religious folks were the angry immigrant hating crowd.

Anyhow, it's late, but never give up hope. Like the motto says, Tiocfaidh ár lá! (Our day will come).

THE CLANCY WORLD TOUR BOSTON NIGHT ONE 🫶🎵|-/

okay, so, the show was fucking EPIC, and it was definitely the best concert ive ever been to. itd be hard to beat that. the setlist, which i hadnt really listened to much due to my confidence in knowing every lyric of theirs, surprised me with bangers i forgot about and it was definitely a great lineup of songs.

during car radio, tyler does a little stunt and goes out into the crowd. AND GUESS WHERE HE WAS. NEXT TO ME!!! so uh if you were at that show, hi, i was the one crying in the background on the screen👋

the lights were incredible, beautiful beautiful effects and visualizers, and, of course, the stadium was literally bouncing!!! there was fire shot up, smoke, and loud explosions, so sound warning for anyone going whose not gone yet and has read this far.

i saw so many good outfits, so many cool and friendly looking people. the clique is genuinely such a loving fandom.

not much else to add, but i will for sure post pictures once ive sorted & edited some.
