Followers of Set, Judasians, Corrupters, Tempters, Serpents, Setites, The Clan of Faith, the Clan of Lies, Typhonists, Sand-Snakes, Vipers, Mesu Bedshet

The Ministry, known by various names such as the Ministry of Set, Followers of Set, or Setites, is a vampire clan whose origins trace back to their proclaimed founder, the Egyptian deity Set. Embracing orthodox Setite beliefs, they hold the conviction that Set will eventually return to either govern or devour the world, and devout Setites are dedicated to paving the way for his resurrection. As a result, the clan maintains its independence from other Kindred sects and adeptly practices the arts of manipulation and trickery. They proudly identify themselves as the Mesu Bedshet, meaning the "Children of Rebellion".

Organization

Setite organization is mostly local, with a single temple or network of cults representing a city's Serpent presence. Setites in the cities rarely scheme among each other, preferring to face outward threats in unity rather than the schismatic self-interest of the Sects. However, whispers persist among outsiders about a massive temple devoted to Set located somewhere in Africa, ruled by terrible methuselahs who claim to be the childer of Set himself. The Hierophants or Eternals are the leaders of the Followers of Set in the absence of their founder. They are the oldest of their clan, who have known Set personally and acted as his stewards in the temples dedicated to the god.

Like all Serpents, Julia knew to arrive silently in Montreal. She knew the Ivory Tower had taken control of the city a few years ago, and that as a member of the Ministry, she would need to prove herself to be accepted. Gone were the days that the Camarilla accepted all, whether they wished to be accepted or not. In these weird modern nights, it is the peasant who needs to beg the king for acceptance.

Little is known as to why she had to leave Paris at all haste to come to Montreal. But she had to. And she left behind a established network of pretty rich girls who were both cocaine smugglers and her dedicated herd. She had it going for herself.

But now, she needs to start from scratch. And with the following note left inside her jacket pocket, without her ever having seen who left it.

“Seedling,

You were given one night to stay in the city before you need to leave to boroughs where you are not protected. But you know the safety temples can provide. You know a church is a community, and a church will give their members privileges stray sheep don’t have. You know those of Set look after their own, so do those of Caine. You know those of Caine are as a matter of fact those of Set.

Therefore, feed not, and go right away with all haste to the Guy subway station. Do not board a train - use your gifts, and make it through the tracks. I know you will be able to follow this sketch. And may you find succour in the bosom of the children of Caine.”

But even as she was not a child of Set, she was not ready for what she found among the Church of Caine.

She has to find a different way.

Comme tous les Serpents, Julia a su qu'il falut arriver silencieusement à Montréal. Elle savait que la Tour d'Ivoire avait pris le contrôle de la ville il y a quelques années, et qu'en tant que membre du Ministère, elle devrait faire ses preuves pour être acceptée. Fini le temps où la Camarilla acceptait tout, même si quelq'un ne voulait pas y faire partie. Dans ces bizarres nuits modernes, c'est le paysan qui doit supplier le roi pour être accepté.

On ne sait pas pourquoi elle a dû quitter Paris en toute hâte pour venir à Montréal. Mais elle devait le faire. Et elle a laissé derrière elle un réseau établi de filles assez riches qui étaient à la fois des trafiquants de cocaïne et son propre troupeau particuler. Elle avait tout et un peu de plus.

Mais maintenant, elle doit repartir de zéro. Et avec la note suivante laissée dans la poche de sa veste, sans qu'elle ait jamais vu qui l'a laissée.

"Semis, On vous a donné une nuit pour rester dans la ville avant de devoir partir vers des arrondissements où vous n'êtes pas protégé. Mais vous connaissez la securité que des temples peuvent fournir. Vous savez q'une église est une communauté, et une église donnera à ses membres des privilèges que les brebis errantes n'ont pas. Vous savez que ceux de Set s'occupent des leurs, ceux de Caïn aussi. Vous savez que ceux de Caïn sont en fait ceux de Set. Ne vous nourrissez donc pas et rendez-vous tout de suite en toute hâte à la station de métro Guy. Ne montez pas dans un train - utilisez vos dons et traversez les voies. Je sais que vous pourrez suivre ce croquis. Et pourriez-vous trouver du secours dans le sein des enfants de Caïn."

Mais même si elle n'était pas une disciple de Set, elle n'était pas prête pour ce qu'elle a trouvé au sein de l'Église de Caïn.

C'est imperatif q'elle trouve une autre voie.
