Sexual deviant Frank (Sean Chapman) inadvertently opens a portal to hell when he tinkers with a box he bought while abroad. The act unleashes gruesome beings called Cenobites, who tear Frank's body apart. When Frank's brother (Andrew Robinson) and his wife, Julia (Clare Higgins), move into Frank's old house, they accidentally bring what is left of Frank back to life. Frank then convinces Julia, his one-time lover, to lure men back to the house so he can use their blood to reconstruct himself.

Race for the character ask game?

(Character ask game!)

Hi Claire :) I am unsurprised by your choice of character

First impression: I'm awful with faces, so I didn't really register him fully when I first watched Newsies! But when I did figure out who he was I decided I liked this dancy chaos child

Impression now: He's my favorite character in Newsies; he's so fun and I love exploring to what extent his silly goofy guy act is a mask

Favorite moment: All his one-liners in 92sies and also his pre-OAFA interactions with Spot in UKsies

Idea for a story: This is one that is languishing in my Google Docs waiting for me to finish HIWB and my mini bang fic: modern AU Race has a bi awakening because some guy (probably Darcy, based on UKsies interactions) takes an interest in Spot and he does not know how to handle that information.

Unpopular opinion: See, that's an interesting question, because - *swan dives into the middle of Lake Champlain*

Favorite relationship: Oh gosh, probably Jack? I am a Sprace fan but Race and Jack as terrible siblings is so fun

Favorite headcanon: This is modern AU-specific, but I like the idea of him turning his love of gambling/poker/betting into a statistics degree

Thoughts on David & Race academic rivalry?

See in my head Race is firmly a STEM guy, like mechanical engineering major with a focus on aerospace and Davey is a history/literature dude so like. If they met in high school they would absolutely be friendly rivals where it's like

"Ha I beat you on the calc test."

"Yeah yeah, just wait until lit papers get graded"

But if they were part of a college friend group they would be in basically none of the same classes so it's kinda like. They do homework together in the same general vicinity and Davey's doing preliminary research for a 15-page history report (I dunno what english and history majors do for classes) that's due in three months and Race is doing multi-page-long physics problems that were assigned three hours ago but due in two days. Both of them are baffled by each other's entire existence. They both make the Provost's/Dean's List. They have no idea who actually has the highest grades because all of their professors weight grades differently and sometimes grade on a curve for no reason.

In the angels/fallen angels AU, why did Race fall, and does he regret the decisions that led to it (my computer is not letting me type question marks for some reason)

Um tw for mentions of sexual harassment, kidnapping attempt, murder attempt, and actual murdering (non of these are graphic)

So on Race’s last assignment as an angel, the girl he was sent to help had a stalker. (not the reason he was helping her but the dude was a handful) He was rich, very creepy, harassing her wherever she go and kept trying to get her to marry him (or more accurately, sleep with him), so generally a walking red flag. And because it was the medieval period, also the fact that angels aren’t supposed to actively magic stuff away (they are like the bestie that’s there for you with a lot of good luck to share but they can’t directly intervene with things), there wasn’t much they could do

It went on for a few years, with Race trying his hardest to help, but the man was very stubborn. After Race almost breaking the not intervening rule when the man tried to kidnap the girl one time, the girl’s family had enough and skipped town. They lived a pretty peaceful life in the new village, the girl was doing great and married someone she loved, and Race was another few years away to move on to his next mission

The stalker found the girl’s new address, tried to kidnap her again, and threatened to kill her if she didn’t go with him. Race got there just in time, and got so furious he snapped and went full angel on the man and smote him. The girl’s husband arrived, they rushed the girl to safety and Race made them promise to never tell anyone what happened, he cleaned up the evidence, and heaven got the news and dragged Race back to heaven

On paper, Race “Violated the holiest rule of being an angel and committed unspeakable crime” because a) He broke the not intervening rule, and b) He killed a human when he wasn’t assigned to do that

Race didn’t feel bad about the fact that the creep was dead, but he did feel guilty that he couldn’t protect the girl better, and things ended up that way. The fact that he killed someone makes him feel pretty disgusted but he’ll do it again in a heartbeat if that means the girl is safe

At the end of the day thought, what he regretted the most was not being able to say goodbye to Spot
