“Were you sad? When I was gone?” Her voice was quiet, barely a whisper over the ticking of a clock. The smell of Earl Grey filled his nose, mixed with the scent of her. “Devastated.” She flinched yet didn’t turn around. She couldn’t. The pain she had caused was paralyzing her. “Were you happy? When you realized the time machine had worked?” Now it was his turn to be the one asking. His voice was shivering. He wanted to know the answer; and he didn’t. “Overjoyed.” He turned his head. She was smiling. “And then I found out I had died.” 

A/N:

Hi I have nothing to say for myself except... sorry? Ugh... I know. It was three months? I'm so, so sorry. I had to do so much stuff for university during vacation, I was working to earn some money (bc students are poor), I was visiting the sea with a friend and that's it... university starts again on Monday and I wanted to have this finished by then. I have no idea when I will finish the next chapter. I hope soon. Or at least quicker than this. But no promises. I hope you like the chapter. I... think it's okay. I like the beginning and the ending, the middle... well, not so much. It looked better in my head.
