A rushed thudding at the door.

The hurried skittering of paws.

Who could it be?

Unexpectedly, it was not a “who” at the door.

But, a “what.”

A clean, pretty bowtie sits patiently on the doorstep, waiting to be claimed.

Its bow is three different shades of purple, running from light to dark. The tie is a darkened lavender.

In the very center is it’s most eyecatching piece. A red gem.

It’s made of plastic unfortunately. But, within the plastic gem is a genuine ruby, trapped within a see-through mold.

It looks handmade.

But, what is that underneath it?

A letter?

Sneeze lightly took the bouquets in their hands and smiled brightly.

“Aww! That’s so sweet of you, Michey! Sneeze will make sure they get to Bismuth as fast as Sneeze can!”

Elsewhere, Bismuth slouches at a table. Her face is flushed with happiness and embarrassment.

She certainly loved Michey’s gift.

She wonders if he loved his..?

Michey: “Sn-Sneeze... what hap.. what h-happened while I was g-gone? Anything.. anything important?” He looks hopeful, almost. At the very least, happy to be talking with his friends again.

“Hehe. It’s good to see you too Michey!”

Sneeze sits next to him trying to recall if anything important has happened.

“Sneeze wouldn’t say you missed anything but Sneeze made a new friend!”

A small Pokemon peeks out playfully from behind Sneeze. She’s short and stout with fairly large paws and skinny legs. She seems to be crossed between a Rockruff and a Sableye.

Spotting the other Rockruff she advances upon Michey instantly, nosily introducing herself.

“Heyyy-! My name’s Bismuth! Y’know, like the element? Yeah, that one.”

She’s chipper and smug, speaking a tad too quick.

“So you must be this “Michey” I’ve heard so much about! Wow, I gotta say, you’re much more handsome than I had originally thought!”

The lycanroc smiled proudly at his evolutionary brethren’s question. Gesturing upward, he drew attention to a large silver and purple crest hanging on the wall. The emblem depicted a lycanroc with a fleur de lis fur pattern as well as an eyepatch.

“This, dear guest, is the home of the Montaroi family, the most powerful family in the rare metal mining business. In 1874, Lord Montaroi left Kalos and entered the Sinnohan mountains, which had been previously deemed too treacherous for most. Using his lycanroc, the great grandfather of yours truly and the one depicted on our family crest here, to sniff out veins of rare metals, Lord Montaroi quickly became a veritable “king of the mountain” which is appropriately the Kalosian translation of Montaroi.”

“Since then, the Montaroi family has lived here, and lycanrocs such as myself serve them both in mining expeditions and in the home as companions. I am the personal lycanroc of the current Lady Montaroi, which is why it has fallen on me to await her return.”

After his long-winded explanation had ended, he looked the rockruff over. “With your choice of neckware, perhaps you might be interested in serving here in time, though I would have to wait for the Lady’s return to get her approval.” He produced a box and extended it to him. “For now, perhaps you might take this and consider the offer.”
