I've seen a few posts about women and pants now and many of them are very good, and not to nitpick those posts or downplay religious sexism or anything, but I have to emphasise:

Somebody who DOESN'T live in a controlling religious country/cult/family is also affected by sexism. We all know that, right? Secular parts of the first world also have opinions about how women dress, including when it comes to trousers, especially in childhood and in institutions like schools and the workplace

Me and many people my age (20s) remember being forced into skirts, punished and shamed by parents & teachers & peers & possibly then bosses about what we wear not being feminine enough, and it wasn't by deeply religious sects. Many updates to dress codes are very new and sexist views are still in place in many institutions. Normalised societal misogyny wants women (and people they want to treat as women) to dress femininely, down to what KIND of pants they're allowed to wear (compare a pink top and jeggings to mens jeans and tell me these two women are treated the same. Hating women in pantsuits is still a sexist office joke today, and even those outfits are feminine compared to male suits, which raise eyebrows when worn by women). The women I know who wear trousers regularly are literally otherwise feminine, and all wear dresses to events.

I know trousers have become much more normalised over the past few decades in secular society (yay!! the result of many many years of effort and lawbreaking) but let's not be absolute when we talk about the pants concept lol. Especially within a larger conversation about female/transmasc/intersex/transfem masculinity and social perceptions, especially in an age of rising fascism

There’s a loud snarling noise outside the window. 

Not that Jazz is concerned. She’s just also trying to study for med school and would appreciate some quiet. And preferred her brother not contracting rabies whenever he tried to square off with the local rogue or three who tried to use the alley. 

As he had put it, it was his alley, he’d claimed it for tinkering. Though perhaps she should maybe ask him to quiet down on his insisted territorialism, even if she understood it. She would also probably maul someone if they tried to enter their apartment flat. It came with the territory of being ecto contaminated, or as the rest of them were now calling it, with being a liminal. 

Once the more draconic aspects started to emerge well, one wasn’t just contaminated anymore after all. Hence the whole school-worth of them leaving Amity while all their parents waged war against the guys in white. Last she heard it was going well. 

Which meant she could focus on her studies as soon as- okay it wouldn’t be quiet, it seems the rest of the kids joined in on mauling the poor idiot who tried to steal their things from the alley. Damn…

what is this, injury city?

he winced at the burning sensation of alcohol on his injuries. you'd think he'd be used to it by now, but he was far too focused on other things. namely, you. his heart was racing faster than he'd ever admit and he couldn't bare to look you in the eye. if you inched any closer he swore his brain wouldn't be able to handle it, his body tensed in a prayer that he wouldn't embarrass himself. your fingers grazed his cheek, assessing the damage, and he hoped you were ignoring the crimson dawning his face.

the close proximity was enough on it's own, but your touch on his skin and your attentive eye had sent his entire body aflame. by the time you pulled away to get some miscellaneous supply he couldn't care less about, he had felt his heart drop to his stomach and his hands become clammy.

"so how'd you get injured?" your query was met with silence, as his expression shifted in sour distaste for the situation that landed him these injuries.

"fine, you don't have to tell me" and as you reached to cup his face again, he swore he would spend the rest of his life with you. he felt himself melt into your touch, after all, when would the two of you be in such close proximity again?

The JLA knowing that Robin 1 became Nightwing and that Robin 2 died, but not knowing Batman’s identity leads to…

Batman showing up for their monthly JLA check in for the first time since Robin 2 died. He’s late, a little out of sorts because, “I was handling things.”

Theres something off about him. It’s off-putting seeing Batman disorganized.

Especially when he stands up to present an emerging person of interest to add to the Justice League watchlist and picks up the stack of files he brought with him.

An unrelated file ended up in his papers and he drops it on the floor. The contents go everywhere and they can all see that it contains the school records for Tim Drake.

They know Tim because he’s been in the news lately due to his recently dead mom and comatose father.

No one says anything but afterwards, they all get together like, “Is Batman going to steal that kid? I feel like he’s going to steal that kid. Did he steal the other ones?”

Then like a week later, they have an all hands on deck situation and two of those hands were the teeny tiny hands of the new Robin.

The first chance they get of Batman being distracted, they pull the kid aside and ask, “Are you Tim Drake?”

Tim, heart beating out of his chest, asks, “Who?
