I've seen a few posts about women and pants now and many of them are very good, and not to nitpick those posts or downplay religious sexism or anything, but I have to emphasise:

Somebody who DOESN'T live in a controlling religious country/cult/family is also affected by sexism. We all know that, right? Secular parts of the first world also have opinions about how women dress, including when it comes to trousers, especially in childhood and in institutions like schools and the workplace

Me and many people my age (20s) remember being forced into skirts, punished and shamed by parents & teachers & peers & possibly then bosses about what we wear not being feminine enough, and it wasn't by deeply religious sects. Many updates to dress codes are very new and sexist views are still in place in many institutions. Normalised societal misogyny wants women (and people they want to treat as women) to dress femininely, down to what KIND of pants they're allowed to wear (compare a pink top and jeggings to mens jeans and tell me these two women are treated the same. Hating women in pantsuits is still a sexist office joke today, and even those outfits are feminine compared to male suits, which raise eyebrows when worn by women). The women I know who wear trousers regularly are literally otherwise feminine, and all wear dresses to events.

I know trousers have become much more normalised over the past few decades in secular society (yay!! the result of many many years of effort and lawbreaking) but let's not be absolute when we talk about the pants concept lol. Especially within a larger conversation about female/transmasc/intersex/transfem masculinity and social perceptions, especially in an age of rising fascism

There’s a loud snarling noise outside the window. 

Not that Jazz is concerned. She’s just also trying to study for med school and would appreciate some quiet. And preferred her brother not contracting rabies whenever he tried to square off with the local rogue or three who tried to use the alley. 

As he had put it, it was his alley, he’d claimed it for tinkering. Though perhaps she should maybe ask him to quiet down on his insisted territorialism, even if she understood it. She would also probably maul someone if they tried to enter their apartment flat. It came with the territory of being ecto contaminated, or as the rest of them were now calling it, with being a liminal. 

Once the more draconic aspects started to emerge well, one wasn’t just contaminated anymore after all. Hence the whole school-worth of them leaving Amity while all their parents waged war against the guys in white. Last she heard it was going well. 

Which meant she could focus on her studies as soon as- okay it wouldn’t be quiet, it seems the rest of the kids joined in on mauling the poor idiot who tried to steal their things from the alley. Damn…

what is this, injury city?

he winced at the burning sensation of alcohol on his injuries. you'd think he'd be used to it by now, but he was far too focused on other things. namely, you. his heart was racing faster than he'd ever admit and he couldn't bare to look you in the eye. if you inched any closer he swore his brain wouldn't be able to handle it, his body tensed in a prayer that he wouldn't embarrass himself. your fingers grazed his cheek, assessing the damage, and he hoped you were ignoring the crimson dawning his face.

the close proximity was enough on it's own, but your touch on his skin and your attentive eye had sent his entire body aflame. by the time you pulled away to get some miscellaneous supply he couldn't care less about, he had felt his heart drop to his stomach and his hands become clammy.

"so how'd you get injured?" your query was met with silence, as his expression shifted in sour distaste for the situation that landed him these injuries.

"fine, you don't have to tell me" and as you reached to cup his face again, he swore he would spend the rest of his life with you. he felt himself melt into your touch, after all, when would the two of you be in such close proximity again?

That's the first big mystery that has the entire cafeteria buzzing. Since this new kid joined the school a few weeks ago, no one seems to know him very well. There are rumors they were kindergarten classmates, but that's just hearsay.

What really has everyone talking is his lunches. Every day, he brings a Superman lunchbox filled with culinary masterpieces! The kids gather around him just to see what delicious treat he's come up with this time.

The first few days, no one could accurately describe his creations. But today, he has a huge triangular sandwich with three different flavors. The students are debating whether it's sweet or savory. The drink is definitely orange, but by the smell, they swear it's mango or peach. And the dessert, a small, closed box, is no bigger than his hand...

Previous lunches include cinnamon rolls, pizza sticks, whole pizzas, fried chicken... the list goes on and on!

Recess ends too soon and everyone is disappointed when Billy doesn't open the box today. Maybe he'll do it later, someone thinks.

Three girls decide to approach Billy to solve the mystery.

Girl 1: "Hi Billy! The girls were talking about your lunch on Friday and we were wondering who makes it for you. It's amazing!"

Billy is a little surprised, but not too much. He knew this was coming.

Billy: "Sometimes my mom, Zee, but mostly his friend does it..."

That's enough to fuel more rumors.

Billy has been living a more normal life since Zatanna became his guardian. It was a little difficult at first, but now he calls her "mom." He hasn't forgotten his biological parents, but opening his heart to Zatanna has helped him a lot, both as Captain Marvel and as little Billy Batson.

Girl 2: "Billy, will your mom's friend come to the race tomorrow?"

Billy: "I haven't asked him..."

Billy considers asking his friend, but he's usually very busy. However, if Zatanna asks him, he'll almost certainly attend.

The big mystery at school now is: who is Billy's father?"
