Villains I dont see very often; mute. Mute villains are the best, nothing can convince me otherwise.
One idea thats been on my mind is a mute villain confessing to the hero, either through sign language, or a perfectly executed scheme. You’re choice :))
Not sure if this counts, but I ran with it. Might try this again after I gather some ASL knowledge. Hope you enjoy :)
A Silent Movie
It wasn’t exactly easy to get Hero sat in front of the cinema screen. In fact, the planning for this trap had taken over sixth months. Not to mention the money it took to buy this building off foreclosure, and the multitude of investments into Hero-proofing the location.
It was even harder to get said hero to stop yelling long enough to pay attention to the image being projected from the back of the room. Not that their sense of hearing was needed for this experience, but Villain imagined Hero would appreciate the lack of noise-based distractions, including sounds they themselves were making.
The theater was notably large, probably the most expensive showing room of its day. That is to say, the upholstery was a little outdated. The popcorn had been swept off the floor, the swirling carpet surprisingly clean. The velvet of the seats did not appear stained, and the cupholders were absent of any discarded snacks or tickets.
The glow of the emergency exit lights were the only thing illuminating the room, and they revealed a dim image of the hero situated in the center of the third row, which was optimal seating in the villain’s opinion.
Clearly, Hero did not agree, considering how hard they were pulling at the restraints to try and exit their carefully selected theater chair.
It was futile, of course, and the hero finally stopped straining when the villain appeared a row below them, quiet as a mouse, standing with a finger pressed to their lips.
Villain retreated when the hero quieted, letting their attention shift to the screen and this special showing. Images flicked past, and Hero became engrossed in the story unfolding on the screen.
Shown was a news reel Hero recognized as the time Villain had crashed their Election Day speech. A zoomed out map of the city, marking City Hall with a red square. Grainy footage of two figures dancing around next to a dumpster. Once again the map appeared, now with two squares pasted on top. The pattern continued, and Hero was amazed.
It was an agglomeration of every moment they had spent together, every public battle, every nighttime-shady-alley encounter.
There was only one reason to collect these momentos, these reminders. It had all meant something to the villain.
The complete lack of kernels on the carpet certainly pointed to a level of dedication and commitment to this scheme.
Maybe, they were hoping it meant something to the hero, too.
Another scene zoomed out a final time, revealing all the markers spread across the city. Only, now, Hero noticed, a rather distinct pattern had formed.
Villain moved like a phantom, appearing again, this time at the hero’s side. The ropes at their wrists fell away like magic while Hero gazed at the awkwardly hovering villain. They presented the hero with a glittering object hung from a chain held loose around their fingers. It was a large ruby gem, expertly cut into the shape of a 3-D heart.
Stolen, no doubt, Hero suspected possibly from the large jewelry exhibition that had just entered town.
The screen flashed bright, and lit up the hero’s face as it contorted in surprise. They processed the scene as fast as they could.
A heart of red markers, a heart of ruby, a heart fluttering in their chest, a heart laid open in front of them.
“Oh,” Hero breathed, “Oh.”
Villain sucked in a breath.
This was it, this was the moment they got rejected because they couldn’t-
“I had no idea.”
Of course they didn’t know, it’s not like Villain had ever spoken about it.
Preparing automatically for the rejection, Villain started to withdraw their hand, cold-as-steel demeanor returning to them with all the familiarity of a security blanket.
It was so stupid of them to think that they deserved any kind of reciprocation, so stupid to think that the hero could possibly-
The hero snatched the charm from their fingers before they fully withdrew.
“I didn’t say no,” they spoke softly, and the villain’s heart skipped a beat.
They reached out their other hand, wrapping their fingers over the still-outstretched hand of the villain. Instead of elaborating, Hero pulled the frozen criminal closer, connecting their lips in a gentle proclamation.
Actions spoke louder than words anyway.

Ellie x fem reader
Info: While on patrol, Reader and Ellie come across a movie theater, something they’ve only heard about in the comics, they’re not going to miss the opportunity to explore it.
Warnings: Smut, 18+ only
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Mmm, Mmm, Yea’.. You hummed the words of a song you’ve been listening to on repeat while kneeing down every once in awhile to rip flowers from the ground, trying to gather enough for your curious girlfriend, Ellie.
The both of you were in the hot summer sun on patrol. Ellie was 100% faithful to her belief that Summer was the worst time to be out and about killing infected. You preferred spring, the rain & and warmth gave you some sort of comfort despite the situation.
Ellie and you were walking a giant field of tall grass & hidden flowers, Ellie with a map in her hand and you with a ready-to-shoot shotgun in yours.
“You know what i’ve never told you?” You say to Ellie, smiling and looking at her thigh.
“What is it.?” She says with a smile back, getting closer and closer to your face.
“I love that holster there.” you whispered.
Ellie rolls her eyes and laughs, kissing your forehead like she always did.
“Come on, only a few places left to clear out and we can talk more about it back at home.”
Ellie never liked being distracted, sometimes you just couldn’t help but get a little distracted while on patrol. You had Ellie wrapped around your finger though, and she would literally have to stop herself from getting distracted as well.
“Ugh fine. Where to next?” You asked as she fumbled with the map.
“Mmmm….I think we’re going to the movies.”
You gasp. “The movies, like the theater? Remember that one comic?……”
“Yes. Yes, I remember. But we’re only going to go in there and kill infected, okay?”
“God Ellie you never used to be so …good. Why can’t we have a little fun just like in the comic?” You walked up behind her, hugging her waist and nibbling at her ear.
She blushed and giggled at the feeling of you there.
“Okay. Okay. Just like in the comic.”
Time had passed and the two of you finally arrived at the old and practically falling apart movie theater. Ellie searched her backpack for her gun. The two of you begin making your way in slowly and quietly.
Inside, there were old stations for purchasing tickets, grabbing candy and popcorn. You wondered what could’ve gone down here and why you felt such a huge wave of nostalgia.
The old movie posters on the wall, and the long hall to your theater seemed so fun to you. But now there were dead bodies and infected scattered over the building. Not too crazy since there were no spores but you could still feel them. So could Ellie.
You had your shotgun ready for anything as You followed behind Ellie. The two of stood quietly peaking your head in the hallway of theater rooms looking for any infected. It wasn’t until you heard loud breathing, running and sounds of a runner behind you.
“Babe watch out!” Ellie yelled as you turned around and immediately shot the runner.
Breathless you say, “I don’t know why we still get shocked when we’re on patrol.”
“Yea well, better get that gun ready, I can hear them from inside the theaters.”
You took a deep breath as you and Ellie stood beside each other watching the small horde of runners running to you two.
Only the sound of gunshots filled the theater. At some point, your shotgun ran out and you had to quickly detach your bat from yourself. You began beating them one by one, blood splattering on you and Ellie and the floor of the theater.
And Voilà! They were gone for now.
“I think we deserved this break.” Ellie nodded in agreement, the two of you still armed, walked down the long hall and picked a theater.
It was incredibly dark but luckily the embarrassingly huge flashlights Joel gifted the both of you came in handy.
“Up there!” You say. The stairs led the both of you to the small room where the film would be playing through.
“None of this stuff works.” Ellie says looking around for a way to play any movie. “I mean it’s been years since it’s all been used, you know?”
“Aha!”
“What?” Ellie looks over to you.
“I found a cute little radio.”
“Does it work?”
“…Nope.”
Ellie grabbed your hands.
“Is it crazy that sometimes I wish we were together before the outbreak? I probably would’ve gave you everything.”
It was rare for Ellie to be completely open about her feelings and you knew every time she was, it was the truth. You sat on the little desk in the room, pulling her close and wrapping your legs around her, resting your head in her neck. She made you feel so safe.
“No..it’s not crazy. I think everyone wishes this outbreak never happened- even if we weren’t even alive yet.” Your voice was muffled. Her hands caressed your waist as she pulled away and rested her nose onto yours. You press a soft kiss onto her lips but didn’t get the chance to pull away longer than a second. Ellie’s hands cupped your face as she basically devoured your lips. She was breathless and it seemed like she was starving for you. Something Ellie never liked doing— getting it on while on patrol.
Doesn’t mean it never happens but she would rather be with you at home, cuddled up in bed and in privacy. Not while trying to kill infected.
Ellie backed away for a moment to pull down her faded black jeans, revealing her beautiful thighs in her short-shorts. God, you loved the view.
You get up, walking slowly over to her and begin caressing her all over. She helps you undress and you do the same. Her boobs do a soft little bounce as you tug off her sports bra. Your mouth immediately attaches to her nipple, licking and sucking all over leaving her boobs slightly coated in your spit.
You begin kissing slowly downwards as you reach to her shorts, looking up at her for permission, she places her hand on your head basically saying yes. Slowly, you begin sliding down her shorts, revealing the beauty and warmth she possessed.
You kiss her inner thighs, never wanting to stop and you end up right where you want to be. Licking and nibbling at her skin before reaching her clit, it was your favorite. Her moans filling the room and seeing her try to find anything to grab onto for support.
She would barely let you go down on her but you could tell by how quickly it’s all going that she was the one that desperately needed you today.
You loved licking her clean and seeing yourself glow and have some of her covering your chin and lips. She helped you get up off your knees. She wasn’t done and you knew she wouldn’t let you go without getting something in return.
Ellie started to slide her jeans back on and you attempted to do the same.
“No.” She said stopping you from putting on your jeans. “I want it all off. I’ll lay down.”
You watched her as she laid her flannel out on the floor, lied down and gestured her hand for you to come near.
“Sit on my face.”
You blushed and felt the ache down there. You did as you were told and hovered over Ellie’s face, without warning she had her hands wrapped around you, holding you as close as possible to her tongue.
She ate you out as fast as she wanted and was not stopping. At some point, you could feel tears in your eyes with the way her tongue was moving inside of you. Your toes curling and body dripping loads of sweat. This was you in your favorite form of yourself.
Soon enough, her grip became weaker which allowed you to jump off of her face without dripping too much on her. You fell over to the side and laid there for a minute. Ellie sat up and looked at you laughing.
“Think you’re good to walk back?” She asked you, grabbing and caressing your hand.
“I would be in a minute.”
“So was it like the comic?”
“Kind of, too bad we couldn’t slow dance to anything.”
Ellie fixed herself and became your big spoon while the two of you relaxed before heading back home.
Patrol always ended in two ways. Either you two actually got stuff done and get home to have a large feast in bed or the two of you stay on patrol longer than usual, recovering from amazing sex.
a/n: another smut. will write something smut-less next time! :) sorry for any mistakes!

Welcome To Sims3City!
Tumblr media
They say if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere! Celebrities can be found wandering the shops and giving impromptu performances all over Sims3City. There's live show venues everywhere and it's easy to see why they say this city runs on dreams yet never sleeps!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I found this absolutely gorgeous map: Waterfall Beauty and just had to use it to make my own city world save! This map did come with lots already designated so I filled it up with the best townhouses, apartments, and city life buildings I could find or make to make my own version of a mashup of Starlight Shores and Bridgeport.
Tumblr media
INTERESTING CHARACTERS
Every sim comes to Sims3City to make it big! With a performance venue on nearly every corner, you're sure to see:
The Warflowers - These twins started a band and pulled some of their reluctant friends into it. They know once they got here to The City, they would make it!
Chloe and Bob Katt - always on the hustle to make people believe in magic again!
The Myth family is here, of course, living in the spookiest house!
Mirage Sable always seems able to make everyone else's wishes come true, hoping one day her only one will, too!
Tumblr media
Candice and Arthur finally made it to The City when Candice got her book deal. Arthur is hoping to make it into the celebrity chef business...with a little help from his friend and now roommate, Derek. This new relationship has a lot of challenges being thrown its way, but this couple is determined to make it here and everywhere!
The Vireowing Fairy Sisters not only have beautiful voices, they love to bestow inner and outer beauty on all of those around them. That's perfect in a city that values beauty!
As with anywhere, crime can be overwhelming in the city but H & H Private detective family, Harmony and Henry, are on the case!
Lots of sims from Starlight Shores and Bridgeport are here: The Drama On TV household, the Crash Pad household, the Atkins Household, the Elson Family, the Sagar Family, the Platt Family, the Hemlock, Schlick and Slayer families, the Belle family, the Art Central household, and the Whitfield family.
Tumblr media

How to help the Ukrainian Book Industry
As per usual, I forget to post on Tumblr now a days. Let's talk Faktor Druk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What happened?
Russia launched 15 missiles at Kharkiv. Faktor Druk, a printing house was hit twice (in total 3 strikes in the general area). Last I heard, 7 are dead. 22 are wounded. (During the strike, 50 employees were in the building.)
Tumblr media
Why it matters? Most Ukrainian publishers had books printed there. Every 3rd Ukrainian book was printed there [Source]. You may think "it's only 50 000 fiction books", but no, it includes textbooks. As in, kids might not get any textbooks, because who else will print them when most books are printed in Kharkiv?
"The printing house Faktor-Druk is part of the Faktor company group, which also includes the renowned Ukrainian publishing house and bookstore Vivat. Faktor-Druk has the capacity to produce approximately 50 million hardcover and paperback books, 100 million magazines, and 300 million newspapers annually. The facility employs 400 people and encompasses 15,822 square meters of production space. According to Forbes Ukraine, Faktor-Druk is one of only two factories in Ukraine that can print products for Disney and Marvel, having successfully passed a rigorous multi-level audit." [Source]
Now how to help? Countries are trying to help with rebuilding, but here are some things you can do.
Vivat posted about a fundraiser for Faktor Druk. Originally posted here by CEO Yuliya Orlova. Reposted to Vivat website here.
Based on my own experience, I believe it is crucial to channel our grief and anger into action. How can you do that?
Ways to support: Donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they are our heroes! Keep buying Ukrainian books! Factor-Druk is one of the largest printing houses in Ukraine, where not only Vivat books are printed, but also many books from other publishers, as well as newspapers, magazines, calendars, school notebooks for your children and grandchildren.⠀ How to help: The Factor company has initiated a fundraiser. All donations will be used to support those affected and to restore the printing industry. Details can be found at the following link: https://vivat.com.ua/blog/udar-po-drukarni-faktor-druk-yak-dopomohty/ [Source]
Vally_v on Instagram is doing a fundraiser raffle below for the chance to win this edition of Ivan Franko's “Manipuliantka”.
instagram
You can support the publishers by buying Ukrainian books and ebooks (most print their books through Faktor).
On the whole, this destruction is part of the larger war where Russians have been destroying Ukraine.
Some more background
The first year of the full-scale invasion led to a 50% decrease in demand [Source]. Shelling in Kharkiv has led to a backlog due to limited electricity and a shortage of qualified personnel [Source].
In terms of operations, within 2022:
Tumblr media
From the start of the full scale invasion to April 25th of 2024, the Russians have damaged 1062 cultural heritage sites [Source]:
Specifically, architectural and urban planning sites comprise 316 objects, architecture – 307, historical– 226, architecture and urban planning, historical – 61, archaeology – 56, architecture, historical – 39, monumental art – 21, urban planning and monumental-decorative art – 19, architecture, monumental art – 7, urban planning – 5, science and technology, architecture – 2, architecture and monumental art – 1, architecture, garden and park art – 1; architecture and garden and park art – 1.
From that same period of time, Russians damaged 1987 cultural institutions (324 destroyed) [Source].
"In total, the following have been affected: – Creative hubs: 958 – Libraries: 708 – Art education institutions: 153 – Museums and galleries: 114 – Theaters, cinemas, and philharmonic halls: 36 – Parks, zoos, reserves: 15 – Circuses: 3"

Map of some important locations in AMC IWTV (no spoilers)
Tumblr media
Orientation
Lakeside (towards Lake Pontchartrain) is towards the top of the map; riverside (towards the Mississippi River) is towards the bottom of the map. Upriver (“above”) is to the left; downriver (“below”) is to the right. North is in the top right.
Locations
Vieux Carré / French Quarter: Historic centre of New Orleans. Limits at Rampart, Canal, the river, Esplanade. Unmarked.
1132 Royal Street: The Gallier House, an eclectic 1857 townhouse (now a museum operated by Tulane University) that Lestat, Louis, and Claudia live in. Marked in red.
Jackson Square: The park by St Louis Cathedral where Louis and the gang like to sit on that one bench. Marked in lavender.
French Opera House: Foremost opera house in NO until it burned down in 1919. Uptown lakeside corner of Toulouse and Bourbon. Marked in magenta.
Fauborg Tremé: Prominent then-middle-class integrated neighbourhood lakeside of the Vieux Carré (French Quarter). From the 1840s on it was mostly populated by free, mixed-race Creoles. Limits at Canal, Rampart, and Esplanade; continues north above the map. Outlined in green.
St Augustine Church: The first Catholic church in the US built to serve a predominantly POC (though ultimately integrated) congregation, founded for the free Creole population of Tremé in 1842. (Fun fact: the fairly wealthy free mixed-race population got together and bought pews on either side of the aisles for Catholic slaves to sit in.) Uptown lakeside corner of St Claude (now Henriette Delille) and Hospital (now Governor Nicholls). Marked in orange.
De Pointe du Lac family home: Probably near the church, riverside of Marais. The house itself is the Derbès mansion, which is a fair bit further north, but Louis says they live about half a mile away from him and Lestat, which places them around the 3rd precinct of the 6th Ward. (Fun fact: this is also where Homer Plessy lived in the 1890s). Unmarked.
St Louis Cemetery: Where the de Pointe du Lac family tomb is. The family has been in the city long enough that they’re probably buried in the old cemetery on Basin and St Louis. (My headcanon is that the Louis of the books, born in the 1760s, is AMC Louis’ great-great-grandfather, probably by Yvette, in a different timeline where Lestat futzes about in Europe for 150 years longer.) Unmarked, but labelled.
Saenger Theatre: Popular cinema and stage theatre built in 1927 (it’s also where the opera scenes in episode 2 were filmed, though they were set at the French Opera House). Downtown lakeside corner of Rampart and Canal. Marked in cyan.
Storyville: NO’s red-light district from 1897 to 1917. Limits at Robertson, Customhouse (now Iberville), Basin, St Louis. Outlined in a yellow box.
Frontages on Liberty Street: Where most of Louis’s Storyville businesses are. Marked in blue.
Frontages on Basin Street: Where the most profitable Storyville businesses are. (The most profitable block is labelled 124 here. Thomas Anderson owned the saloon on the corner of Basin and Customhouse; Lulu White, a mixed-race madam who should have been in the show, owned the brothel on the corner of Basin and Bienville.) Marked in red.
Azalea Hall: 202 Villere Street (if I’m not mistaken). Approximate location marked in violet.
Black Storyville: Segregated Colored red-light district that would have been created by Ordinance 4118 in March 1917. Limits at Robertson, Cleveland, Liberty, Canal. Outlined in a red box.
Ward boundaries: They don’t come up in the show, but they’re a fairly important part of NO culturally and geographically, so I’ve included them.
3rd Ward: Predominantly Anglo and White. Now the central business district. Upriver of Canal Street.
4th Ward: Upper part of French Quarter. Limits at Canal and St Louis.
5th Ward: Central part of French Quarter. Limits at St Louis and St Philippe.
6th Ward: Lower part of French Quarter. Limits at St Philippe and Esplanade.
7th Ward: Predominantly Anglo and Black. Downriver of Esplanade.
If anyone is interested to know where anything else is (or might be) or has any corrections, please let me know!
If you need floor plans or anything for Louis and Lestat’s townhouse, the Gallier house is extensively documented. I’ve included the floor plans below (the approximate location of the incinerator is marked in red; toilets are on the other side of that gate in the privy), but much more can be found here.

Napa, CA, Beautiful Weather
One of the nicest things about Napa, CA, is the beautiful weather. The Valley offers beautiful weather throughout the year that makes it very interesting for many. With a brief wet season from late December to mid-March and occasional fog, residents of Napa always enjoy mostly clear, sunny weather. Besides, the Valley's picturesque landscape includes mountains and the rolling hills that your eyes can see. In the lower parts of the Valley, like American Canyon, temperatures can reach the low 80s during summer, while the more northern parts, like Calistoga may reach the high 90s to 100s due to the Valley's length and elevation changes. It's important to consider these temperature differences while also exploring potential new neighborhoods.

Club Design
I have added some nighttime venues on both sides of the cinema because I can imagine it would be a very lively light show at night. I think people who have studied urban planning will design better because their more professional design methods are closer to life. Because it's a simulation game, these are just for enjoying the scenery.
Referring to some club pictures, most clubs in small French towns are relatively simple. The club's text will add some light lines.
Tumblr media
The appearance of Midnight Club should pay attention to the colours and patterns of the design. The colour trend should be vibrant and lively. The pattern should also be simple and clear. The colours of the club's LED strips are generally red, purple, blue, and green. The club usually has entertainment venues such as dance halls, game halls, and casinos inside. These important elements should be clearly reflected on the periphery of the building. In the following steps, I will add details such as advertisements that feature club elements and animations displayed on the screen.

May 20- Rome travel day
(Family)
This was the beginning to two rough days.
I started it with packing my stuff up. My suitcase is full and I have bought like… hardly anything. I don’t know and it stresses me out. We had to be out of the hotel by 10 but our train was at 1:45. So we left our luggage at the hotel.
I went to Cinema Odeon to do homework. I did none. We went there on our first day and they were playing a collection of Baz Luhrmann movies. We walked in on his 1996 Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio. I don’t really like Baz Luhrmann’s movies… they are visually assaulting and give me headaches. But Leonardo DiCaprio was a good thing to see first.
For the last film, they were playing silents. I spent my entire hour there trying to figure out what film they were playing. I recognize the actress. I googled and googled and gave up. I was actually more sad to leave this place now that they were playing silents… you can’t spoon feed me film history and then shove me on a train. Not fair. Not fair at all. I still don’t know what they were playing and I need to know so I can watch the whole thing on my own time.
We travelled to Rome and I guided us to our place. Instead of all of us in different hotel rooms with 1 person, we are all in one place. 14 in one apartment, 3 in the one across the hall (but no kitchen for them so we all technically share). Insane. The a/c works for no room except the one I’m in and the kitchen. The toilet perpetually flushes in another and they told us to just hit the wall instead of fixing it. The shower has black stuff in it and the pressure is awful. Everyone’s losing it about drying clothes after washing them. One of the other shower doors is broken.
My boyfriend said that you give up comfort in Europe, but things could be a little better. It’s also just difficult to be around people who are high stress and unhappy with their surroundings and aren’t getting along with their roommates. Mine are fine!
I had someone dish me attitude and I shushed him without even thinking about it. So that ruined my night here. I was asking him for help and he snapped at me. I felt kind of bad but a couple other people said he was unnecessarily rude to me.
And that was the end of the day. Rough day to start in Rome. High stress but the theater… I will miss it. Thanks for the recommendation Kyle.
In order:
1. Mystery silent at Cinema Odeon
2. The view of the screen from the bookstore part of the theater
3. A man threw this fake flower at me at 6:45 in the morning when I was going to Venice. I said no and he chucked it at me. I found it two days later right before leaving. Still don’t know why he did that to me.
4. The view of the courtyard from the hall window outside our flat.
5. Ella using a paper map in Florence! What?! A paper map?! (She was successful!)

[The Keihancarl Diaries: May 18, 2024]
Tumblr media
Hi everyone, Keihancarl here. Lovely weather we’re having, huh?
xxxxxxxxxx
Tumblr media
The weather app on my smartphone says it’s gonna rain on a Saturday. Not something I look forward to on a mall-hopping trip, but I guess (if that really happens) I’ll just deal with it for now considering that the weather’s been so scorching hot these past few weeks. I just hoped that the air wouldn’t be as humid as hell.
So I’m wearing red and black this time, and something plain too. I need to make the most out of that trip so I was planning on leaving the house around 9:00 AM (I ended up leaving the house just an hour later). In case you’re wondering, it’s Bonifacio Global City this time. And I’m definitely going to have a great time there too, with my first visit to Mitsukoshi BGC, which opened in 2022.
Tumblr media
It was still sunny when I left, but I knew it might rain at some point, probably in the afternoon. Traffic along Commonwealth Avenue is mostly light, except in some areas. I reached the MRT at 11:30 AM. The traffic at North Avenue totally killed my mood. It sucks since I always have high expectations for almost everything.
I decided to reload my beep card (I managed to drop my bag while trying to get some coins in my purse) and take the MRT to Guadalupe Station. Along the way, the Kamuning Flyover is being rehabilitated and the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Quezon Avenue Station has commenced. Approaching Shaw Boulevard Station, however, the train came to a sudden halt, and an announcement came shortly after that. Upon reaching the next station, we were told to switch to another train, as the one we were riding had a problem.
Tumblr media
Getting off at MRT Guadalupe Station, I immediately took a jeepney to McKinley Hill, where my first destination, Venice Grand Canal Mall, is. It’s been four and a half years since I last visited the area (and the entire Fort area, including BGC, in general) so I had a hard time familiarizing myself with the area once again. If not for Google Maps, then I would’ve gotten lost.
Tumblr media
Getting to Venice Grand Canal Mall, I decided to check the space where Fully Booked used to be, which is now occupied by Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf and/or Randy’s Doughnuts (I believe it’s the latter). I then went inside the mall area and had lunch at Takoyadon (Food Hall), but I bought a drink at the nearby Marketplace Supermarket first. It was a gyudon donburi, but it’s strange enough that it is actually made from Angus beef (it was clearly stated in the menu). I had to pay extra for an egg, but I wouldn’t mind. It didn’t took me long enough to finish my food using only chopsticks.
I then took some selfies by the bridge, but the pics didn’t really look great, partly due to my figure. God, I hate how I look, with that ugly double chin and all that. It didn’t help that the pandemic made me look like that.
Tumblr media
Besides the supermarket, I didn’t check any of the shops inside the mall. I didn’t get to check the Venice Piazza as well. I ended up spending more than an hour at the mall, mostly taking selfies by the bridge (with the nice view of the canal and the surrounding buildings). I could’ve done that in about fifteen minutes or so if only I looked like my pre-pandemic self and I wasn’t completely stressed out.
Tumblr media
Next stop, SM Aura. I only checked a few shops and had a fruit tea drink at Gong Cha. At this rate, I was getting really cranky due to some earlier inconveniences, especially the heavy traffic on North Avenue. Of course, the extreme heat adds up to the crankiness I’m experiencing. Once I sat down and finished my drink, I felt a little okay.
Tumblr media
Passing by the Fully Booked branch there, I got a free comic book as part of Free Comic Book Day in all of its stores in Metro Manila and Luzon. It was an excerpt from The Drifting Classroom by Kazuo Umezu.
Tumblr media
Both the Food On Four and the cinemas had been renovated for some time. The former appeared to have an artificial skylight, as opposed to the previous one which is actually a skylight. But the entire area was a lot brighter than before.
Tumblr media
As for the cinemas, I was quite impressed with the lobby. Not sure if the IMAX is still there, I didn’t bother to check due to time constraints.
Checking the SkyPark, there was a temporary mini golf area and an art installation.
Tumblr media
Going back to the upper ground floor, H&M took over Forever 21’s former space. The latter closed its branch there in 2010.
Tumblr media
Next stop, Market Market. I only checked the Booksale branch there. As usual, there are fewer manga books, and none of them interest me.
Tumblr media
Heading to the biggest Fully Booked branch (the flagship megastore) at the Bonifacio High Street, I decided to check every single floor of this building… except the fourth floor and the basement (both are closed off for some reason). The manga books and light novels were transferred to the second floor, along with comic books and some of the music CDs and vinyls. These used to dominate the entire fourth floor until a few years ago.
Tumblr media
There were no more free comic books, as was the case with the other Fully Booked branches I visited later. Luckily, there were a few free comics left at the SM Aura branch when I got there a little earlier.
After that, I took a moment to check some of the shops at BHS, and then went to my next destination: Uptown Bonifacio and of course, Mitsukoshi BGC. It was a kilometer walk from BHS, but I wouldn’t mind.
Tumblr media
I passed by The Turf and saw football players practicing there. Later on, just as I was getting closer to my next destination, I managed to sprain my left foot a little, but I could still walk just fine.
Tumblr media
And finally, I get to revisit the Uptown Mall for the first time in almost seven years. While I didn’t check any of the shops there, I took a moment to admire its upscale interiors. I also check the alfresco area as well. I even get to see a glimpse of Mitsukoshi BGC from there.
Tumblr media
On to the next destination, I noticed a passageway heading to a residential building across the road (but it also says more shops, if I recall correctly). I decided to take the passageway until I reached the basement level of One Uptown Residence, where several wellness and service shops are located. I got out via the basement level access towards 36th Street and took a short walk to Mitsukoshi BGC.
Tumblr media
The first Japanese-inspired mall in the Philippines, it features a mix of local and global brands (including renowned Japanese brands), designer labels, cafes, and restaurants. There’s a food hall (Itadaki Food Court), a supermarket (Mitsukoshi Fresh), a bookstore (Fully Booked x Books Kinokuniya), and a furniture and home furnishing shop (Nitori). There were gacha capsule machines too.
Tumblr media
I checked some shops, including Fully Booked x Kinokuniya, and later headed to the third level to check Nitori.
I was amazed at some of the items in that store. I then checked the bedding section and the home office section. I didn’t get to check some parts of the shop, though.
Tumblr media
It was already 6:00 PM and I was getting hungry so I decided to check out the basement level where the food court and the supermarket are. It took me a while to decide where to eat. I initially considered MOS Burger but after checking some of the other food stalls, I decided to have katsu curry at Nadai Fujisoba instead.
Tumblr media
But first, just like earlier, I bought my drinks at Mitsukoshi Fresh (the supermarket). I decided on a bottled water and a grape-flavored vitamin boost drink. The latter was definitely not gentle on the throat, but I chose it anyway since it says anti-stress boost, something that I really need at the moment since I was incredibly stressed during some parts of the trip. I could’ve bought a box of UCC iced creamy coffee mix, the pineapple caramel one, but I hold off for now. Anyway, the katsu curry is great, though there’s a bit too much curry sauce which is more than enough to cover the rice.
Tumblr media
Heading out, it was already dark but I managed to enjoy walking back to Bonifacio High Street. Along the way, I saw a full moon in the sky, some interesting shops, a standalone Uniqlo store, and from a good distance, Landmark BGC (I don’t know if it’s only a supermarket or it also includes the department store).
Tumblr media
I reached the BHS Central Square within fifteen minutes and immediately checked the Muji branch there. At the cinema level, the Lawson convenience store has taken over the space of FamilyMart. I also get to see one of the 3D billboards from the large window, where I used to take numerous selfies on my previous visits.
Tumblr media
I visited the nearby One Bonifacio High Street, but I didn’t check any of the shops.
And finally, Burgos Circle. I managed to take some pictures of the sculpture against an illuminated background and that was that. The area along Forbestown Road looks better at night.
Tumblr media
It was quarter to 8:00, and I was debating whether I should visit One Ayala Makati or not. Anyway, I managed to take the BGC Bus to McKinley Exchange and got to the MRT Ayala Station faster than expected. I decided to check the Fully Booked branch at One Ayala Makati and take a short trip to the restroom. I also happened to run across a couple of cosplayers, as FanFes was taking place at The Spaces at One Ayala, at the fifth level, which I thought to be the cinema level on my previous visit a few months ago. I didn’t bother checking the upper floors since I really needed to get home as soon as possible.
Tumblr media
I took the MRT and initially planned to get off at either Cubao or Quezon Avenue stations, but I ended up getting off at North Avenue station instead for some reason. I was so busy uploading the photos to my Instagram accounts during the entire MRT ride that I never paid attention to where I was supposed to get off. Man, that turned out to be the worst decision I made, since I had to wait for about 20 minutes before I got to ride the UV Express to SM Fairview from Trinoma. Traffic isn’t that bad along Commonwealth Avenue so I got there in about 30 to 40 minutes. It was already 10:20 PM when I got home from that exhausting trip.
xxxxxxxxxx
Tumblr media
Sure, the trip was kind of fun, but the traffic along North Avenue and McKinley Parkway (near SM Aura/Market Market) nearly ruined my day (and my mood). Well, at least it didn’t rain throughout the entire mall-hopping trip, but the incredibly hot weather made me feel extremely exhausted and cranky throughout the trip. And yeah, I’m quite terrible with time management these days, just like the previous mall-hopping trip to CAMANAVA (Karuhatan, Valenzuela and Monumento, Caloocan) and Manila (Binondo and Ermita) areas. I wished it wouldn’t end up the same on my subsequent mall-hopping trips.
I might consider the Ortigas and Greenhills areas next. But when this will happen will be completely up to me. Well, I’m either targeting July or August for this trip.
Anyway, that’s all for the third week of #TheFourWeekendPlan. I can’t wait to return to my favorite hangout place for the final week of TFWP and enjoy my frappuccino. And I’m looking forward to my first ever trip to Baguio (as part of the company outing) by the end of the month (it’s only a week away). Until then, sayonara!
All pics are uploaded to my Instagram account, @kcox_105.

> < The Church of St. Francis of Assisi and the hidden coachman in the darkness, Wroclaw 2023 - it looks quite intriguing from the outside. A bit similar to a rural building (parliament), somewhat like an old cinema, a bit like the Centennial Hall. The opinions of the faithful on Google Maps are diverse, so I won't recommend it with caution. * I only noticed this gentleman during post-processing... try to imagine my expression.

Why Cinema Digital Signage is Gaining Popularity in 2023
Technology has transformed the entertainment experience, particularly in movie theaters. The introduction of advancements such as high-definition projection, immersive sound systems (like Dolby Atmos), 3D/4D viewing, online booking, and ticketing have brought convenience and agility to entertainment.
These nascent integrations have blurred the boundary between traditional and interactive offline experiences, enthralling viewers with immersive narratives that go beyond the edges of the physical world.
Revolution indeed is here, and so is cinema digital signage. Let us get up close with what that means.
What is cinema digital signage?
Cinema or Movie theater digital signage refers to using electronic screens and interactive elements to share information, promotions, and entertainment in a movie hall setting. Unlike traditional signs, it uses digital kiosks and displays for ticketing, advertisements, show times, showing wayfinding maps, etc. Unlike static conventional signage, digital updates in real-time can include multimedia elements like videos and animations.
Interactive digital signage creates a more engaging pre-show experience for moviegoers by allowing them to participate and personalize their activity. Viewers can explore trailers, access additional content, and customize their concessions via interactive screens at the entrances, near ticketing booths, food counters, and more. This interactivity enhances engagement, transforming the wait time into a memorable part of cinema-going.
Is cinema digital signage just an ambiance booster? We have an answer
Visual aesthetics of large high-definition displays are a powerful ambiance booster, but with all that signage technology has to offer, an electronic screen at a movie theater goes a lot beyond. Let us find out how!
