Pelops
Pelops was a Greek hero and king of Pisa in Greek mythology. As the son of Tantalus, he was a member of the cursed House of Atreus, and was cruelly sacrificed by his father in a twisted way to test the gods – an act that backfired and led to Tantalus' eternal punishment.
The myths most commonly associated with Pelops include the disastrous feast with the gods in which he was killed and placed in a stew by his father and his quest to win the hand of Princess Hippodamia. He is considered a great Greek hero and was admired by the Greeks, with the Achaeans claiming him as their ancestor.
Family
Pelops was the son of Tantalus and the nymph Dione (some sources list his mother as Clytia or Euryanassa) and the grandson of Zeus and Atlas. He was the father of several sons and daughters, including Atreus, Thyestes, Dias, Corinthus, Cleon, Aelius, Nicippe, Archippe, and Eurydice with his wife Hippodamia, and the father of Chrysippus with either the nymph Axioche or Danais.

I think what gets me about Chrysippus’s story is how realistic it is, Laius wasn’t a stranger he was his tutor, most cases of sexual abuse are done by ppl the victim is close to like friends and family, Laius was a family friend, Pelops trusted him to take care of Chrysippus. It’s also heavily implied that Chrysippus was groomed before his kidnapping and even after he was rescued Chrysippus’s still defended Laius since he was a child who didn’t understand he was being abused.

Details under the cut:
Chrysippus: Stoic philosopher. Died of laughter (not very stoic of him). He saw a donkey eating some figs and said "Now give the donkey a drink of pure wine to wash down the figs" and that was apparently super funny. Laughed so hard at his own (unfunny) joke that he died. According to another story he drank undiluted wine and died because of that, but that's less funny and also, two things can be true. I am more willing to believe he found that joke funny if he was piss drunk.
Pole sitting: It's sitting on top of a pole. For some reason it was a fad during the 20s. And they like, sat there for days at a time. The record was 51 days and 20 hours.

Marble portrait head of Chrysippus of Soli (ca. 279-206 BCE), the prominent Stoic thinker and writer sometimes credited as the "second founder" of the Stoa. The biographer/doxographer Diogenes Laertius lists over 700 works by Chrysippus, all of which have perished save for fragments. This portrait head dates to the 2nd century CE and is modeled after a lost Hellenistic original, perhaps by the sculptor Euboulides; it is now located in the Louvre. The Delphic SIBYL, born at Delphi, known by her proper name Themis, is said to have lived before the destruction of Troy. They say that Homer included many of her verses in his work.
There are those, whoever, who sometimes believe that Sibyl was her proper name, which spread to the others, as I touched on above, on the Libyan Sibyl. See above on the Persian and Libyan Sibyls.
This prophecy is attributed to her:
Know him as your Lord, who is truly the son of God. Chrysippus also says that she prophesied this: A Prophet is born of a virgin, without his mother’s [matris] (or “her husband’s” [maris]) coitus.

Xrisippus fəlsəfəsi Xrisippus daha çox məntiqi məsələlərə önəm vermişdir. O, başqa stoaçılar kimi hesab edirdi ki, fəlsəfənin üç istiqaməti vardır: məntiq, fizika və etika. Məntiq ritorika (söz ustalığı) və dialektikadan (mübahisə bacarığı) ibarətdir. Dialektika isə məna və səsə bölünür. Mənalar təsəvvürlər və onlara əsaslanan mülahizələrdən, cins və növlərdən, eləcə də sofizmlərdən ibarətdir. Səslər isə deyilən sözlər, cümlələrdir. . . #philosophy #felsefe #fəlsəfə #filosof #sözler #söz #aktivler💙❤️💚🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿 #aktivlik #aktivler➕😍 #aktivler➕ #bakuaz #baku #bakı #azeaktiv #azerbaycan #azərbaycan🇦🇿 #azeaktive💕🌛 #azeactive💎 #azərbaycan #chrysippus https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp3D4N-I7qn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

there are two things that make me giggle way too much for what they are
The first is L'arrivée d'un train en gare de La Ciotat or Train Pulling Into Station also known as that one time a bunch of people got scared of a train going to hit them, but it was just a movie
The other is Chrysippus dying from laughter at a donkey eating figs, because that isn't that funny bro

So there is this thing I do where I’d roam around on Wikipedia finding out cool Greek mythology facts and I stumbled upon Chrysippus, his tragic story really touched me and I was disappointed to find out that Euripides made a play about him that is now lost. One thing that especially stood out to me is this pottery art depicting Chrysippus with a woman named Zeuxo. Who is she? What is she to him? Is she the oceanid Zeuxo? Or a mortal woman who happens to share her name? There is not a single surviving source that tells us. I’ve drawn Zeuxo before so I decided to draw her again.

Chrysippus of Soli was a Greek Stoic philosopher. Legend has it he died from laughter.
How so? He was watching a donkey eat some fancy figs and said: "Now give the donkey a drink of pure wine to wash down the figs", immediately after which he died in a fit of laughter.
He died from laughing at his own joke.
Now give the donkey a drink of pure wine..... to wash down the figs..!
