As funny as all the memes about Christofern being another child in Garmadon's eyes are, I feel like it misses the point of his existence. He's not another child to Garmadon. He's the same child. Christofern IS Lloyd. This is pretty explicitly shown in the way Garmadon talks about it. Christofern represents Garmadon's relationship with Lloyd and again, as funny as all the jokes are I feel like they ignore that.

Imagine:

Garmadon isn't trying to replace Lloyd with Christofern, Garmadon thinks Christofern is Lloyd. A combination of fucked up memory, terrible vision and old people dementia result in Garm finding a random plant and thinking it's Lloyd and wanting to be a good father to make up for all the bad father-ing he takes it home. He's too crazy to question why the plant isn't talking and despite Vinny's attempts to explain that that is a plant Garm is convinced this is Lloyd. It's green and it's small! Clearly it is his son! He's just giving the silent treatment because he's mad!

Ninjago Magazine Comics Translated Issue 98 - The Kidnapping

If you didn't know, Blue Ocean has a variety of non-canon Ninjago comic magazines. I'm working on translating a few of my favourites from German to English for you all to enjoy (see Issue 85, the first one I translated, for more details). This story is post-Crystalized. Your tags and reactions to my first translation gave me motivation to translate more, and I'm glad people are enjoying them! Lloyd is still a little kid. No matter what age he is because of childs play, part of him will be young/childish forever( hc). And this is important to realize because with a grown adult, they would eventually understand that christofern is a fill-in for lloyd to garmadon. But lloyd is blinded to the truth by his childish jealousy and masking the fact that it could mean something more than being replaced by a plant. He's telling himself that he'd rather be mad at his dad then be sad by the truth so he ignored all other reasoning. The ninja are his family. Kai and Nya are his siblings, jay and cole are his brother in laws, zanes like the dad, pixals like his mom (god knows he needs a new one *fuck you misako*) one big happy family
