It's still incomplete even though there's not much that's missing (mostly editing, a missing link between the last two chapters and parts of the epilogue). I wrote most of it in 2022 and was on a good way to finishing it at the beginning of 2023 so I started posting. I don't know what happened then. Projects for 2024 👀

After the last year I don't have much trust in making fic writing plans anymore. I don't think my work load will decrease anytime soon. But then, maybe I should stop waiting for the day I'm suddenly not tired anymore and just write anyway. Because I miss writing. A lot.

So let's treat this as a wish list more than an actual project list, yeah?

The fic that is closest to finishing is a continuation of One night at G-A-Y, with a gay Roy trying to figure out what kind of flavor queer Jamie is, if at all.

A McDanno fic where Steve has been dishonorably discharged from the Navy thanks to DADT. He returns to Hawaii, out and proud now because fuck the Navy, and he opens up a queer gym after he doesn't find a place where he can train without either hiding or suffering harassment. When a man dies in an illegal MMA fight, Steve suddenly finds himself subject of a police investigation led by (surprise!) Detective Danny Williams. In my mind this is another Big and Long Story. Maybe I can find a way to break it down into small chunks.

A kind of dark-ish fic where, despite being a SEAL and therefore very capable of defending himself, thank you very much, Steve finds himself at a disadvantage when he's assaulted by a bunch of homophobe thugs.

I have collected a variety of paragraphs and snippets around a transmasc!Steve headcanon. I haven't figured out what to do with them yet.

Tea time:

There’s something so sus going on with Maddie and Provy (I don’t like him like that). Their relationship dynamic is so odd. Buckle up because I’ve been sitting on this for a while.

I started to sense trouble in paradise for them when Maddie’s birthday happened in April 2023 and she went to Miami (her mom, brother and friends all were celebrating with her there) and Provy just wasn’t there.

Last summer (June I think?), they appeared to have gotten engaged in Hawaii but at some point during the off-season, for whatever reason, Maddie went private on her personal and took down posts, including the post about her and Provy being engaged and right before the season started, she put the engagement post back up and put more photos of their trip in her highlights and even had a highlight for when she lived in Columbus. Around Christmas time, she did the same thing from before with taking the post down and going private (If I remember correctly, I think she posted that she went home to New Jersey) for Christmas but eventually put it back up. They also sold their house last year during the season. Maddie also went to see her brother in California this year and mentioned something along the lines about possibly wanting to move there.

Throughout the 2023-24 season, there were some posts of her (mostly stories) wearing the engagement ring, including to a conference down in Florida with the dog (Drake) earlier this year and Maddie also went back to Florida to see Provy play in Tampa and they also did that interview with Drake with Bally Sports (her left hand was out of sight most of the time).

She also hasn’t posted about their anniversary in about (or over) a year (I want to know if she started dating Provy when she was interning with the Flyers or after).

The kicker to me is that as of this offseason, the engagement picture is gone, the Columbus highlight is gone, some of the Hawaii photos are missing from the highlight and Maddie recently posted that she went back to Florida (for the 4th time this year, I think?) with Drake to stay for a month to see if they would like staying there for a long period of time (of course, they could possibly be getting a vacation home there and she’s tasked with that while Provy’s training away in Russia but she could also be trying to move there). Maddie did post earlier this off-season a somewhat subtle shot of Provy and her together with the dog but he was kinda hidden a bit in the story post. She’s also posted about going back and forth to NYC this off-season and still follows bridal accounts so i dont know if they’re getting married on the DL or if she’s secretly trying to move to NYC.

Another thing to note as well is that she also took down some of the hockey related stuff of Provy and Drake from Drake’s insta.

I dont know why Maddie is trying to hide her relationship with Provy and her and Drake being associated with him when she’s publicly posted things (even after the pride night fallout) about him (again, the interview and posts on both her and Drake’s accounts), like girl own up that you’re with the homophobic man and you may or may not be trying to marry him.

Chaos thought: Maddie also may or may not be dragging out her relationship with Provy (behind the scenes) to maintain her level of status (he is a big reason why Drake’s insta became famous and why she has so many followers on her personal, also her followers do fluctuate when she posted publicly about him on her personal) and if Provy doesn’t stick around in the NHL going forward (or decides to go home to the KHL), maybe she’ll leave for good.

I know it isn’t easy because they’ve been together for so long and she’s probably accustomed to a certain lifestyle (and there’s always a possibility that she could be at fault for their relationship downfall or whatever) but personally, I want her to move on from him (preferably sooner rather than later)

I dont know what’s going on over there 100% like that but there’s something is going on over there.

I've done too much a lot of thinking about it, and like. Idk. That trip to Hawaii we were planning around Christmas. I think 2023 was building up to that. That's why she and her dad were so insistent on the location despite "letting my sister pick". That's why he was paying for it. I should be happy, but it's just sort of making me paranoid. I know it's not for the same thing as 2019, we'd have noticed by now. And that's just where they marry everybody off. Who would it have been? Would it have been the same date as our mother's? Or am I just reading things wrong. It could have been Josh too, that's where his family lived. It was something though, I know it

2023 in review

Milestones: 10 years since I completed fellowship and became an attending; 10 years since I moved to Oregon.

Places visited: Hawaii in February with my parents and sister; Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in July with my whole family, with a few days down in Utah; Iceland in September with J; Arizona a couple of times to see my niblings; Seattle for a few weekends.

Games played: Settlers of Catan, Dutch Blitz, Cover Your Assets, Codenames, Exploding Kittens, Zombie Kittens, Happy Salmon, Trails, and Dragonwood. Abandon All Artichokes was also very shortly abandoned and Tacocat was not as entertaining as hoped.

Puzzles completed: 2 (one Karin mostly did, and I just threw down a few pieces).

Movies watched: Wakanda Forever; Return of the King (in the theater in April); Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (terrible movie); Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (excellent movie); Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (stop making want to give up chicken!); Red, White, and Royal Blue.

TV shows watched: Battlestar Galactica (all but the last season because I don’t want it to end), Shadow and Bone season 2 (I am so mad that it was canceled), Doctor Who specials, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Great British Bake-Off, Heartstopper season 2 (and let’s be real, lots of season 1 again as well), Lockwood & Co (I think I still have the last episode to watch), Tom Jones (PBS), Good Omens season 2, Schmicago (so so good).

TV shows watched with @lucy8675309: The Mandalorian; Ted Lasso season 3; Star Trek: Picard; Star Trek: Strange New Worlds; Loki season 2; Fringe (we’re on season 4 and I love it so much). We started to watch the second season of Our Flag Means Death, but it was taking us away from Fringe, so it’s on the back burner.

Books read: 128 (!!!). Here’s a link to my storygraph account. I’ll do a separate sum up.

Audiobooks listened to: 13.5. My hope had been to do one per month, and Jonathan Strange took at least 3 months to finish, so I’m surprised I made it, but I did have a long road trip to Yellowstone, where I listened to 3 different books on the way there and back. (Carry On is the 0.5 – I listened to 2/3rd of it on the plane ride down and wanted to finish it by Christmas so switched over to the ebook).

Musicals/Plays watched: Moulin Rouge: the Musical (the movie is so much better); Ain’t Too Proud; My Fair Lady; Choir Boy; Hairspray; A Midsummer’s Night Dream; Six; Tina: The Tina Turner Musical; Les Miserables; Waitress (in the movie theater).

Concerts attended: Theo Katzman in April; Vienna Teng at The Triple Door in Seattle in August.

Music listened to: The Riversitter by Vienna Teng, Prayer for the Broken by Naya Rivera, multiple hours of classical music while visiting my parents.

Medical conferences attended: 2, one virtually, one in Phoenix, in August in 115 heat.

Medical conferences where I gave a presentation: 1 on a specific consideration on organ donation (the reason why I was in Phoenix in August).

Number of lectures given: 5 including to the NW Internal Medicine Society.

Nights spent in the hospital because my driveway too icy/snowy to get home: only 3!

Knitted projects: Wisteria scarf (a Christmas present that I finished in January); Anne, Diana, and Gilbert dolls were finished in the spring (only took me 2 years); Orchid and Gold Poppins scarf, Grandpa sweater (my first real sweater!), 3 scarves for Christmas (which are in various stages of finished and need to be mailed).

Number of skeins of yarn bought: … Just enough for a few more dolls and a sweater or two, and some Icelandic yarn and some yarn for my mom…

Notable fails: the annular solar eclipse (too cloudy), parenting succulent plants (3 needed the Plant Hospital, 1 is still in the Plant ICU), summer flirtations.

House repairs: every board on my 32×24 foot deck was replaced. I still have the two lower decks and the back stairs to tackle.

Visits to the beach: only once in June. Must be rectified in the new year.

Biography

As a kid, Jimin used to have lots of hobbies, following anything that piqued his interest. However, when he discovered dance, he realized this was his calling and took lessons for two years while in middle school before getting into Busan High School of Arts. He interrupted his scolarity once he got recruited by Big Hit. He’s the last member to have joined BTS, two years before their debut. Always hard-working, Jimin has illustrated himself through his dance and his acrobatic figures but he also know for his kindness towards the members and the fans.
