Some F1 Hot Takes
Just my opinion, please don't flame me for this!
Lance probably doesn't deserve his seat in F1. Same goes for Zhou and Logan, but Lance's lack of race iq really drags him down.
Max, Lewis, and Fernando will always be miles above the rest when they're on form.
Lando will never be WDC, but Oscar will.
The Charles-worship the Tifosi have is directly hindering his odds of becoming WDC. And it needs to stop.
Hulk deserves better from Haas, and so does KMag.
Christian and Toto are just as toxic as each other, just differently. Zak Brown is the same.
Sooner or later, Oscar will be forced out of McLaren due to their favouring of Lando. It happened to Daniel and Carlos, so it will happen to Oscar
Yuki deserves better from RB.
Toto has a bond with the FIA that no other TP has.
Kimi Antonelli should not be in F1 until he's at least nineteen.
If Pierre and Esteban didn't sign that non-aggression clause, they should have, because they need to.
Ten teams is too few.
Sprints are fine, and I don't know why people hate them so much.
F1 should get rid of Driver of The Day, and replace it with a Best Drive award for the driver who went above and beyond in the race. (So, if, say, Hulk scores points from p18, he'd get it)
Drivers having beef with each other should be made to do some kind of counselling, beef can quickly boil over.
Singapore needs to go, it's harmful to the drivers' health.
George is the best of the rookie trio, and it's not even close.
Miami and Vegas are the worst tracks.
There should be an extra point for a win from pole, to see who the really good drivers actually are.
Mick got done very dirty by Haas, and deserves a drive in F1.
Any driver who routinely poses a danger on track should be forced to sit out at least one race.
Paul Ricard, Mugello, and Hockenheim should be granted races again. Replacing Singapore, Monaco, and Miami.
Spa is the best track, bar none.
McLaren should be ashamed of themselves for profiteering from Senna's death this year.
Jaques Villeneuve did not deserve his championship. He just won because Michael lost.
Australia should be a night race, it'd be epic that way.
Alex Albon deserves better.
Sauber need to either sack or re-train their entire pit crew.
Seb retired too early.
And, Max's ten race win streak is not talked about enough.

Editor’s note: The following is a guest piece authored by LGBT+ advocacy group Heckin Unicorn on so-called conversion therapy in Singapore. It was not produced by Coconuts Singapore.
Sam embarked on a journey of self-discovery in his 20s. He had been through many abusive relationships, and for reasons he couldn’t quite grasp, he’d always felt that something was missing in his life. Sam wanted to get in tune with his emotions. He wanted to heal.
At 26, Sam flew to Japan to attend a spiritual workshop. The workshop’s exercise was simple, but intense: attendees were paired up, and for 3 hours, each pair had to stare meditatively into each other’s eyes. The poetic beauty in this exercise wasn’t lost to him: staring into the windows of another’s soul would help him get in touch with his own.
Yet for hours, nothing happened.
Then his sensei came over and gently touched his chest, or what spiritual practitioners called the “heart space”. And in a single stroke, Sam’s inner soul broke loose with an explosive force. He started shrieking — so uncontrollably, in fact, that he had to be restrained by several workshop attendees. Anguish, anger, and confusion raced through his mind. It was an excruciating 30 minutes of raw physical reaction, as if years of emotions ripped through his body. Yet it was nothing compared to what was about to hit him in the months to come.
Because in that moment, something clicked into place. Sam suddenly recalled that he was a victim of “conversion therapy” over a decade ago. He finally understood why he’d always felt that something was missing, and why he felt so strongly that he had to heal himself. Deeply repressed and harrowing memories came rushing back like an avalanche.
Sam fought to stay alive over the next 3 months. He suffered from hallucinations, and would cry inconsolably for days on end. He would vomit uncontrollably. His body burned in pain. He wanted to end the suffering. He wanted to end his life. But in between the painful outbreaks, Sam found the strength to fight for his survival. He knew that to live, he had to find out more about what had happened to him. He began researching extensively about “conversion therapy”, and the more he researched, the more he recalled the lost years of his adolescence.
Slowly, his memories fell into place.
Sam went through a lot at a young age. He learnt that he was gay while going through puberty. And through interactions with his closest family members, he learned that it was something he needed to get rid of.
When he came out to his mum at 13, she told him that she expects a grand funeral when she dies. It was her cold, indirect way of telling him that she expects him to bear children and grandchildren for her. When Sam turned to his aunt, she called him derogatory names and told him that people will not accept him if he continues to be gay. The message from his family was clear: turn straight, or else.
So at 15, Sam scoured the internet for answers about his sexuality. In the age of dial-up internet, genuine LGBTQ+ content was hard to come by. The information that he found about STDs scared him — HIV was still called the “gay virus” back then. Sam started getting desperate. He needed to find a way to turn straight.
And then he found a solution — or so he thought.
Sam began attending a “conversion therapy” programme offered by a local church when he was 15. It marketed itself as a counselling service that could help people who were “struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction”, and sounded exactly like what Sam was looking for. Even though he only signed up for their counselling services, he felt compelled to attend their church services as the years went by. His family never knew that he was participating in “conversion therapy” sessions; they were more concerned that he was converting from Taoism to Christianity.
Perhaps the scariest part about the “conversion therapy” programme was how, to 15-year-old Sam, it just felt right. Sam’s 1-on-1 sessions with his counsellor felt like normal counselling sessions. Sure, scripture was quoted a lot in their hour-long sessions, but to Sam — and anyone who desperately wanted to turn straight, for that matter — everything seemed to make sense. Because in a world full of rejection, the programme claimed to provide all the answers.
Sam’s memories about his counselling sessions are hazy, but their core message remains clear in his mind: you’ll go to hell if you’re gay. It was a powerful and terrifying message, and it fueled Sam’s desire to continue with the programme. He didn’t know back then that his sexual desires were innate and perfectly normal, so he confided his feelings with his counsellor and followed everything he was instructed to do. For a long time, everything he heard in his counselling sessions made him feel like turning straight was a real possibility.
Celibacy was a strong mandate of the “conversion therapy” programme. Sam’s counsellor told him many times that he would go to hell unless he stopped masturbating. He told Sam that it was wrong and sinful to have sexual desires. And as an impressionable teenager going through the peak of puberty, Sam absorbed and believed everything his counsellor told him.
Throughout his 4 years in the programme, Sam suppressed his desires and took things to the extreme. He would hold tightly onto his bed frame every night before going to bed to prevent himself from touching his body. It was a physically and mentally exhausting exercise, but Sam managed to push through every night for 6 consecutive months before he succumbed to his desires. He wouldn’t know this until years later, but this extreme psychological conditioning left him with a debilitating inability to touch himself.
In one church session, the pastor discouraged churchgoers from listening to secular music. Only Christian music should be allowed in their lives, the pastor declared. The next week, Sam brought his entire music CD collection to church, and watched it being burnt and destroyed. Sam was so enthralled by the programme’s promises that no physical coercion was required to get him to engage in such extreme activities. To him, listening to everything they say was the only way to not end up in hell.
There were a few reasons that ultimately made Sam leave the programme after 4 years. First of all, nothing worked. Sam knew that he was still gay, and that all he managed to do was to suppress his innate desires and convince himself that he isn’t worthy of love. He was also harassed by a cell group leader, but nothing seemed to be done about it after he raised this up to the church leadership. And in an attempt to negotiate some joy back into his life, Sam asked a church friend if God would accept him if he were to be in a loving gay relationship, but abstained from sex for life. The answer: an unequivocal no.
When Sam left the programme at 19, he wasn’t a changed man — he was broken. He left not because he realised that their teachings harmed his mental health, but because after 4 years of trying, he has resigned to his fate of going to hell.
Sam turns 38 this year. And in the last decade or so, he’s been to hell and back.
After spending thousands of dollars in medical scans, Sam was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. In simple terms, he experiences chronic physical pain induced by his extreme psychological trauma (side note: psychological trauma isn’t the only factor that could induce symptoms of fibromyalgia). These painful outbreaks aren’t just unpredictable, but also incurable. His chest would tighten and he would gasp for air; his face would twitch suddenly and uncontrollably; he would suffer from the inability to speak; he is often fatigued and would suffer from migraines.
Sam also faced considerable financial challenges over the last couple of decades. There were months when Sam was unable to get out of bed. His inner demons would take control, and he would find himself once again fighting for his life. Because of this, Sam had been in and out of jobs. This, coupled with his expensive medical treatment and therapies, set his finances back considerably.
It would be nice if we could end Sam’s story on a positive note. But the truth is that even though Sam is a fierce survivor, his experience with “conversion therapy” still affects him decades after the sessions have ended. Sam isn’t ready to date yet, because he thinks that he carries too much emotional baggage for any relationship to work. He continues to face difficulties fully accepting his sexuality, even though he understands that there’s nothing wrong with being gay. And he continues to sleep with his arms wide apart, because physical contact still makes his body burn in pain.
Let this be clear: “conversion therapy” practices exist in Singapore. Many of these programmes continue to showcase “success” cases without acknowledging, or perhaps understanding, how “conversion therapy” can irreparably damage a person’s psychological and physical wellbeing.
According to the United Nations, any attempt to change or suppress someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity is a form of “conversion therapy”. Many international psychiatric organisations have condemned “conversion therapy” practices because the medical consensus agrees that they not only don’t work, but could cause mental harm to participants (page 115). Taiwan has fully banned “conversion therapy” practices, while Germany has done so for minors. Other countries such as Canada, Israel, New Zealand, and the UK are considering legislation that would make them illegal.
Yet “conversion therapy” remains legal in Singapore. Many teenagers like Sam will continue to enrol in programmes that psychologically condition them to suppress their innate sexuality. Most of them would emerge from the programmes with their sexuality unchanged, but mental health deeply affected. Some of them will kill themselves.

Eric Sutherland Lomax was born on May 30th  1919 at Joppa, Edinburgh.
This has been taken, in the main form The Independent Newspaper website, when I post things like this, another Eric, Liddell, being a prime example, their are sometimes thoughts and comments can be tinged with hatred, or angry emojis. Liddell died in a camp, but he was a Christian and could have left the camp, he passed on his freedom to someone he thought more deserving, he certainly would not advocate hatred toward anyone. Read Eric Lomax's comments at the end of this post and take a leaf out of his book.......
The only son of a General Post Office manager Eric was educated at the city's Royal High School. Aged 16, he successfully entered a civil service competition for a Post Office job and moved up the grades rapidly, but with the outbreak of war joined the Supplementary Reserve of the Royal Corps of Signals which recruited men from the Post Office Telephones.
After intensive training he became a Second Lieutenant with the Royal Signals and was posted to the Far East. Captured in February 1942, following one of the worst defeats in the history of the British Army, the fall of Singapore, Lomax was one of 100,000 allied POWs sent to Changi, one of the most the notorious camps. Their treatment was harsh, fitting in with the belief held by the Japanese Imperial Army that those who had surrendered to it were guilty of dishonouring their country and family and deserved to be treated in no other way.
From there, Lomax was sent to the Thai town of Kanchanaburi, where he was set to work on the infamous railway, including the bridge, linking Bangkok to Rangoon in Burma. In all, about 61,000 Allied POWs (of which almost half were British) and 180,000 Asian labourers worked on the 258-mile stretch of line, but the harsh conditions and inhuman treatment took the lives of over 100,000 men.
In the face of malnutrition, illness and regular beatings, Lomax and other POWs built a radio with the hope of keeping up morale and finding out how the war was progressing. He also drew a detailed map of the camp's surroundings which was to be used in an escape attempt. This, however, proved to be his downfall.
The discovery of the radio, on 29 August 1943, set off a sequence of terrible repercussions. Almost immediately two members of the radio group were arrested, nearly beaten to death, then transferred into the hands of the Kempeitai, the Japanese military police. Less than a month later, four further members of the group, including Lomax, were arrested and again beaten to within an inch of their lives.
"We survived but only just," Lomax recalled. "I had both my arms broken." He was later told by another POW that the rest of the camp had lain awake all night listening to the cries for mercy but could only pray for their survival. On 25 September a further four officers were seized and of those, Captain Hawley and Lieutenant Armitage were beaten to death and their bodies thrown into a latrine. Because of his map, Lomax was subjected to a week of intolerable torture, including waterboarding. He was then transferred to the notorious Outram Road prison, where he was kept in solitary confinement and was convinced he would go insane, starve to death or die of disease. He survived by deliberately throwing himself down a flight of iron stairs in order to sustain injuries and be transferred to hospital. He feigned paralysis and got his wish.
When liberation and VJ-Day came in August 1945, Lomax felt unready to return to civilian life and signed on for another two years, becoming a Captain. He then entered the Colonial Service and was posted to Ghana in preparation for its independence in March 1957.
Lomax left the army in 1955 and studied personnel management, working initially with the Scottish Gas Board before securing an academic position at Strathclyde University. He retired in 1982.
Not surprisingly, Lomax was haunted for the rest of his life by his wartime ordeal, which resulted in the breakdown of his first marriage. Encouraged by his second wife, Patti, Lomax sought treatment, eventually becoming the first Second World War ex-serviceman to be accepted as a patient of the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.
Following years of counselling, Lomax's intense hatred, particularly for the interpreter who had interrogated him while he was being tortured, became a remarkable journey of reconciliation outlined in The Railway Man, published in 1995. Unknown to Lomax, the interrogator, Takashi Nagase, had suffered agonies of guilt after the war and had dedicated his life to trying to make amends. He had also written a book about his experiences, Crosses and Tigers, and had financed a Buddhist temple at the bridge over the River Kwai by way of atonement.
In his book Lomax documents how he met Nagase on the bridge in 1993; the meeting was filmed for an award-winning documentary Enemy, My Friend? Lomax's book won the 1996 NCR Book Award and the JR Ackerley prize for autobiography and was adapted for TV in 1995 as Prisoners in Time, starring John Hurt as Lomax.
In 2007 Nagase's came to Britain and met Lomax. "Continuing to hate gets you nowhere," Lomax said. "It just damages you as an individual. At some point, the hating has to stop."
The Railway Man was made into a film, with Colin Firth as Eric Lomax in 2013.

Community Prayer and Praise:
DAB family this is Jordan in Texas just wanted to say to Standing Firm in South Carolina your…your kind of confession that when you make calls you in one way or another kind of make it about yourself, you know, recognition or wanting to look important. And I just want to thank you for saying that. It took courage and boldness and you saying that to all those others who may feel that way you’re not alone. And, so, that’s me because I was actually thinking about doing the same thing, saying something. And, so, I do say that now, just confessing that…that like the three or four times I’ve called in to pray for others kind of having that feeling of, “I hope I hear” you know “I hope I hear a little bit of accolades about how cool my prayer was.” And it’s ridiculous and embarrassing and I just want to bring that before you guys and the Lord. And anyways, I…I also want to just by way of you guys getting to know me because I love getting to know you, ask for prayer for my marriage. My wife just had our second son, he’s 16 days old and, you know, just the emotions and hormones kind of can swing one way or another and I lose patience with her and get short with her and even knowing that…that her hormones are kind of up and down and whatever it just…there’s…it’s hard for me to give her grace. And I know that comes from wounding in my life. And anyways if you’d pray for that. And also please my older son he’s 2 ½ and he’s so sweet and so gentle with baby brother Benjamin and…but Caleb is just having a hard time adjusting…
Hello this is All the Treasures from Wyoming and I have an urgent prayer request please for anybody who hears this message. There’s a young lady here who is in our ICU hospital her name is Emily and she developed blood clots and those blood clots broke loose and went into her heart and she almost died. They had to do emergency surgery and she almost bled out and she’s in really bad shape. And anybody who hears this message, if you could please pray for her. I don’t know if she knows the Lord, but I’ve been praying that He would meet her right where she’s at and that she would live to tell about it and have a wonderful testimony of His goodness. Please join me in praying for her. Again, her name is Emily…
Hello everybody this is Tony the Narrator. Michael and Elijah, please let us know how you guys are getting on now. You know, this…we…we your’re…you’re still in many of our prayers, probably the majority of us pray for you. We love you we miss you. Please let us know what’s going on. And a big shout out to everybody else, you all know who you are. Thank you so much for the prayers for my brole life and I promised you my testimony. So, with a minute and 23 seconds here we go. So, on November the 24th, 2009 I was doing 65 miles an hour in a 70 mile or road on my motorbike going for a job interview with an electricity company where I was going to be going door to door going, “do you want to change your electric company?” All right by then…which I was actually really looking forward to. But anyway, so this guy in a van pulled out in front of me and my groin hit the fuel tank at 65 miles an hour, I broke my pelvis in four places, my spine, I broke my wrist in four places, my thumb was hanging backwards, I broke both my hands - various different breaks. I did…I bruised my lungs, I bruise my ribs, I did soft tissue damage in various different places and also brain damage. I should be dead. I was bleeding out and laying there, I ended up having to have four pints of blood that day. I shouldn’t be here and my dad got on the phone and he said, “son, if you don’t become a Christian you’re gonna die!” Just like God’s Smile he’s from Lancaster too. And, so, I became a Christian that day. Praise the Lord. I love you guys, God bless…
Heavenly Father I pray that You would set all those free who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and mental illness. You have the power to set us free, so I ask that of You right now. I also pray You would give direction to those who don’t yet know You and what their calling is in life. I also pray for all those who don’t know You yet and have hardened hearts toward You. I pray that You would soften their hearts and bring people into their lives to speak truth. Allow them to be open to the gospel to hear Your good news and Your powerful news. In Your powerful name.
Hi, so I’ve never done this before, but I thought it was a good opportunity to try it out. So, my parents moved recently and because of that they both had to quit their jobs. And luckily my mom was able to find something again, but my dad has really been struggling. It’s really taken a toll on him. He is a man who needs to feel like he’s doing something, like he’s contributing, like…like he has a purpose. And, so, it’s been really hard for him and for us seeing him like this. And I would just ask that whoever hears this will stand in agreement with me, will pray with me, not just that my dad would get work but that he would get something that he is passionate about, something that is worthwhile and that he would just keep good spirits and keep on praying and keep talking to the Lord about it and that he won’t just isolate himself and, you know, give into that feeling of uselessness. Thank you very much.
Hi this is Teresa from Indiana God bless you all. I just want to mention a couple people. I feel like I’m just growing so close to everybody. I’ve never met one of you but we’re all so connected. Mike…Mike I’m just proclaiming every day. I’m praying for you and am proclaiming that Annie is delivered from drugs. She is whole and that baby is healthy. In the name of Jesus, I’m…I’m…I’m proclaiming it every day. The Bible says to call those things that aren’t as though they were. So, I am doing that, and she is delivered from drugs in the name of Jesus. She’s whole, she’s healthy, she saved, she’s delivered, and you have peace in the name of Jesus. Daniel from Singapore, O, God bless you sweetheart. That’s so precious, so precious. I’ve just listened to that song and your prayer every single day. This is August the 6th. So, it’s been like four days later and I’m still listening to it. I’m going back to it. It’s…it’s so precious. Remember all the things that David the great man of the Bible went through, David and Paul. The Psalms, how many times there was an attempt on David’s life. My husband preached last night so many times someone was trying to kill him he was crying out to God. So many things that Paul went through, you know, being stoned and shipwrecked and all the things that he went through being in prison for so long for nothing just for loving Jesus and proclaiming his good news. And, you know, we have to go through these things I guess because we wouldn’t be who we are without…without the fires and the trials in our life. It makes us closer to God. It brings…we pray more it…it just…it just…it just molds us into who we are. We need that. I love you guys. God bless you.

Red Bull found to have only committed a minor breach of 114m spending cap
Lewis Hamilton will not be handed last year's world title after Red Bull were found to have only committed a minor breach of £114m spending cap... team principal Christian Horner vindicated as FIA dismiss speculation Max Verstappen's team overspent by £10m FIA set to publish  auditing findings into Red Bull's spending cap for 2021 season Horner had denied the accusations that they were £10m over the £114m ceiling  The discrepancy could be around £1m and is no more than a ‘procedural breach Hamilton was controversially beaten to the title by Verstappen last season By Jonathan McEvoy for the Daily Mail Published: 17:30 EDT, 3 October 2022 | Updated: 17:30 EDT, 3 October 2022 Lewis Hamilton will not be handed last year’s world championship crown retrospectively, with Red Bull set to be found only in minor breach - if at all - of the budget cap when the FIA finally publish their auditing findings. The results of the process are due to be announced on Wednesday, but there is a slight chance that may even be delayed as the governing body consider biding their time on the sensitive issue. They do not wish to be seen to be falling in line with deadlines set by anybody else. Sportsmail understands that accusations privately made by a number of teams that Red Bull were some £10million over the £114m ceiling will not be borne out when the adjudication is made public. The amount in question is at the lower end of the scale. Max Verstappen will keep his 2021 F1 championship title following the FIA investigation One source said the discrepancy could be as little as a million or so, perhaps even less, and is no more than a ‘procedural’ breach. Should this turn out to be the case, it would mean Max Verstappen’s last-lap win over Hamilton would stand. It would also vindicate Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, who feels unfairly vilified by accusers who he believes have used smears rather than hard evidence to accuse his team of cheating their way to success. He is well-entitled to feel he has been prosecuted in a kangaroo court of public opinion with rivals, led by Ferrari and Mercedes, publicly and privately briefing against Red Bull last Friday in the Singapore Grand Prix build-up based on accounting information - some of it seemingly widely inaccurate - that should have stayed between the teams and the FIA while the auditing process took place. Lewis Hamilton (front) was controversially pipped to the title last season by Verstappen The accusations were felt deeply by sponsors at the Red Bull hospitality area last weekend in the humid paddock, where Verstappen was presented with his first, though unconverted, chance to wrap up his second title in crushing style. Horner is on record as saying rivals made their allegations in an attempt to undermine the validity of Red Bull’s success that sends their 25-year-old Dutch driver to Japan this Sunday needing to score eight more points than Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to retain his crown. For now, both Mercedes and Red Bull are keeping their counsel, not wishing to rile FIA president Mohammed ben Sulayem into any knee-jerk reaction that might harm their causes at this delicate stage. Toto Wolff had demanded the FIA enforce their own rules on Red Bull's spending cap It is understood from various sources that one issue under debate between the FIA and Red Bull concerns keeping on the payroll staff who were signed off work through ill-health. Red Bull submitted their finances to the FIA in March after been approved by their own auditors, believing they were some £4m under the limit to allow themselves headroom. The process is taking a long time partly because the budget cap was only introduced for 2021 and some aspects of it are still being stress-tested. Red Bull chief Christian Horner has denied the spending cap accusations aimed at his team Advertisement Share or comment on this article: Red Bull found to have only committed a minor breach of £114m spending cap via Formula One | Mail Online https://www.dailymail.co.uk?ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&ito=1490

Trump, Ethics, the Left, and North Korea – Freedom Philosophy
I got involved with Being Libertarian mostly out of opposition to Donald Trump. His commitment to deficits, killing civilians, his campaign pledge to ban Muslims and his supporters’ eerie comfort-level with that, all struck me as something a libertarian should oppose. A healthy Trump supporter should stand back and rationally assess his presidential failures, but by the same logic, a healthy Trump critic should stand back and rationally appraise his successes.
Trump has an interesting set of ethics. Prior to his political ambitions, he came to my home province of New Brunswick to articulate his ethics in a speech to our business community. The ethics are very Nietzschean. He explained that when someone is good to him, he tried to be twice as good to them, and when someone wrongs him he tries to harm them doubly so.
The wronging comes across as childish when he’s in a twitter war. Some slight insult to him sets him off in an insurable rage hurling every insult he can fit into 280 characters. But even his doubling up on kindness appears bizarre as when he’s complemented by the likes of the KKK and he has an inability, seemingly stemming from his personal ethics, to insult them in return.
Unbeknownst to leftists (who pride themselves in multiculturalism) in Christian and post-Christian nations – an anathema to Nietzsche – this is actually the way most of the world thinks. If one examines the history of warfare in the Middle East, it’s characterized by intense tribalism. If one member of a tribe kills a member of another tribe, the victimized tribe will go kill two members of the aggressor’s tribe.
In the West, we operate differently. We tend to tolerate small acts of aggression, which come across as a weakness to our aggressors, who gain confidence to continue attacking until some catastrophic attack is carried out at which point we apply maximum force until the enemy is completely destroyed. Pearl Harbor and 9-11 are modern examples.
Trump’s extravagant displays of wealth, which are off-putting to most in the West, actually ingratiate him to most people in the world. His boasts of strength, which we deem dangerous, actually garner him respect. When the left criticizes Trump’s odd behavior (odd by our standards), they’re actually criticizing most of the world.
Contrast Trump with Justin Trudeau’s trip to India. He did everything in his power to show the Indian people he was multicultural and they had no respect for him. He had Indian clothes, he did yoga poses in the Taj Mahal, he did Indian dances, and walked away handing India $750 million Canadian investment and returned with a comparatively low $250 million investment for Canada.
Where JFK, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and Obama all failed, Trump has far surpassed them in North Korean success. There are many unknowns, more hurdles to climb, and more specific goals that require constant measurement of progress or underachievement. However, he started in one of the worst positions with North Korea being more belligerent than it has since the 1950 war, and he achieved more than any other president.
In spite of this success, I was hoping for another appraisal and turned to Trump’s least favorite news network – CNN.
Most headlines were about his gaffes, how this is upsetting allies (which it isn’t), and their objective analysis contained the absurd non-sequitur and irrelevant criticism, “And the carnival atmosphere in Singapore might also keep Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation out of the headlines for a few more days.”
They want to highlight his failures. They want their consumers to think of Trump as a failure. Deep down if you talk to a Western leftist about Trump’s achievement in North Korea, perhaps one of the greatest triumphs of peace, they would never admit this but both interlocutors know it’s there, there’s a strong part of them that wants to see Trump fail. If they were accused of it they sneer with a typical, “How dare you?!” but deep down, there’s a nagging feeling there.
The reason why the left wants him to fail isn’t because they love war. It’s because they love themselves more than peace. They’re madly in love with their view of the world. They enjoy talking down to others as it elevates themselves.
Socialists will deny the continued global annihilation of poverty at the hands of capitalism because they don’t want to stop preaching. It’s not the cause they love, it’s themselves.
Feminists will deny equality of incomes for new graduates because they don’t want it to be the case. There are Oscar night soapboxes, late-night comedians poking fun at others, their friends sharing memes; this has grown into an organic, self-gratifying, virtue signal.
It isn’t ethics that causes the left to criticize Trump for mocking the disabled reporter, else they would have criticized Obama for bombing a hospital in Yemen filled with disabled people; it’s self-gratification of talking down to one that isn’t their own. Trump’s success means they don’t understand other cultures to the extent they think they do, they don’t have the capacity for diplomacy that they thought they did.
I’ll resume criticizing Trump for his turn to a manufacturing economy during a time of unprecedented automation, his deficits, and his continuing of the brutal war in Yemen; I’ll do that next week. For now, I’m going to enjoy this brief triumph, though it may be false, and at the very least the hope for a better future, and invite the left to leave their world and do the same because if they can’t they’re as awful as Trump who can’t bring himself to praise an enemy or criticize an ally.

ONE Championship Reveals Q2 Partners and 2 More Guest CEOs For ‘The Apprentice’
Tumblr media
ONE Championship has revealed several key brand partnerships for 2020’s second quarter, plus two new guest CEOs for their upcoming reality television show, The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.
On Friday, 3 July, The Home Of Martial Arts announced that they have collaborated with eight new companies – Grab, Everise, YOU.C1000, SilverQueen, Kaskus, LU Global, Myanmar Airways International & Air KBZ, and Fairtex – to bring fans an even greater martial arts experience.
In addition to that, ONE Esports, the organization’s professional gaming division, has named the two brands they’ve recently partnered with – Toyota Motor Asia Pacific and Vidio.
ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong is excited to collaborate with these companies because they exemplify the same values that ONE celebrates.
"ONE Championship’s latest strategic partnerships with some of the world’s best brands are further proof that our reach – and ability to deliver fans the absolute best of engaging martial arts and esports content – offer undeniable value,” Sityodtong said in a press release.
“Each of these partners shares with us a culture of excellence and innovation, and contribute in our mission to ignite the world with hope, strength, dreams, and inspiration.”
Grab CEO Anthony Tan and Everise CEO Sudhir Agarwal will also join Sityodtong on The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition to mentor contestants vying for the chance to work under Sityodtong at ONE’s headquarters in Singapore.
The Grab CEO is eager to pass along his experience with running companies to the next generation of ambitious business moguls.
"The ONE platform Chatri and his team have built is nurturing champions and inspiring young people across Asia every day,” Tan said.
“As a business builder, I am excited to participate in The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition as a guest CEO, to share my learnings and connect with the next wave of aspiring entrepreneurs who are determined to learn, prove themselves, and make a positive impact on the community."
The CEO of Everise echoed similar sentiments and cannot wait to impart his knowledge on the group of ambitious entrepreneurs.
“Personally, I am thrilled with the opportunity to be a part of The Apprentice, to get to know the contestants, and to counsel them, sharing with them my experiences.”
The announcement of these partnerships and guest CEOs comes just a week after ONE announced their return to the martial arts world with ONE: NO SURRENDER, scheduled for Friday, 31 July, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Fans all around the world can watch the promotion’s flagship event for free by downloading the ONE Super App.

Amos Yee is finally a free bird.
He finally gets the asylum he wanted in the United States but what has the debacle surrounding his persecution by Singapore authorities taught us?
For me, there are 3 major learning points to take away.
First and foremost we should learn from this experience and not prosecute children for holding an unacceptable opinion. He was a 16-year-old boy at the time of the material offenses he was charged with; let the children be.
Amos Yee was a 16 years old child when he was persecuted and remanded in prison for 53 days pending his trial for maintaining and articulating an unacceptable opinion.
He refused to give up his controversial views on religion though it was clear to me at least that it was his political views and in particular his condemnation of Lee Kuan Yew that rankled the powers that be the most.
Some naughty boys grow up to be successful men. Take a most relevant example that was pointed out to me in the American TV personality Seth MacFarlane who was raised a Catholic just like Amos Yee and just like Amos Yee turned against his religion and mocked it at a very young age.
Seth is today the creator of the highly successful American animated sitcom TV series "Family Guy", a show that airs in Singapore that routinely mocks Christianity that has been the target of numerous taste and indecency complaints in America.
Alas, Amos Yee was not allowed the same privilege Seth MacFarlane was as a boy. Amos Yee the boy was imprisoned in Singapore under our sedition laws.
Nothing will ever change the fact that a 16-year-old boy was remanded for 53 days for airing his unacceptable views in Singapore. How can this have been right?
His eventual prison sentence of four weeks was backdated to start from his remand and he therefore in fact served almost twice the sentence time he eventually received!
Singapore has lost a vexatious and obnoxious kid who should have been reprimanded and counseled not prosecuted and jailed.
The takeaway here is that boys will be boys and they need space and time to grow not persecution and prison time.
Secondly, it has been found that he was persecuted for his political views in the guise of a prosecution for wounding religious feelings and disseminating obscene material online.
The fact of the matter is that sedition is inherently intertwined with politics. The crime of sedition is highly politicised and the Government's prosecution of Amos Yee was doomed to be construed as a political enterprise.
Two US immigration courts have now called a spade a spade. Pinky our dear leader was upset with Amos Yee for denigrating his father but did not have the balls to call him out and instead unleashed the full venom of the organs of State up his tender ass using the cover of religious sensitivity and the arsenal of the land's sedition laws.
Many Singaporeans including every religious fanatic bought the ploy hook line and sinker.
This trick worked in Singapore quite effectively and Amos was convicted but unfortunately the sham was laid thread bare in the United States in the asylum proceedings and appeal thereon.
A most damning indictment of the administration of justice in Singapore spelt out in technicolour detail in two separate judgments for the world to read to justify giving a young boy refuge from political persecution in his own country.
This is simply remarkable and unprecedented in the annals of legal history here save for the Privy Council tearing into the then Chief Justice Wee Chong Jin's shambolic judgment against JBJ Jeyaratnam that was used to debar the politician.
That hurt no doubt as will this one. Not something Singaporeans should be proud of. It's not our finest hour. A stinging slap in the face for Singapore and the system here.
Therefore the second take away is that the judgement of the three-member United States Board of Immigration Appeals upholding an earlier ruling from a lower court judge unequivocally means that Amos Yee's persecution and imprisonment in Singapore was politically motivated to silence him. There are no two ways about this.
Shame on the PAP Government exposed for the world to see what it does to little boys that annoy them.
Third and finally and most importantly, we should all learn that there is a better response to religious sensitivity and hate speech.
There is a better way.
A distinction should be drawn in law and in our minds between an unacceptable viewpoint and violent rhetoric.
It is the latter that we should react to and should simply learn to respond calmly to the former if one cannot ignore that unacceptable viewpoint.
There should not be a law protecting the wounding of religious feelings. A law against inciting violence, any form of violence, is perfectly understood but a law for "wounding" religious "feelings" should be unnecessary.
We should be guided by the maxim "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will not hurt me".
I equally take the view that prevention is better than cure. However, I differ from the Government in our view of what prevention in this context means.
The law essentially operates as a cure. It operates after religious feelings have been wounded.
Needless to say that in theory crime and it's punishment do provide some deterrence but are not entirely effective in preventing one's religious feelings from being wounded. That privilege belongs to the individual and communities affected.
It is rather silly to think that a law criminalising hate speech can achieve this aim effectively.
The Dalai Lama for example says: "Do not let the behaviour of others destroy your inner peace".
People must be educated to entertain two opposing thoughts in their minds without taking offense to one which wounds their religious feelings. This is the best method of preventing the "wounding of religious feelings".
I know the zealots reading this will scoff at the proposition presented here but zealots are by definition oversensitive pricks who need a kick in the back side not societies sympathy for their perpetually wounded feelings.
Zealots are the problem not loud mouths like Amos Yee. The zealots are now stunned by the final turn of events and are left licking their wounds.
Fundamentally though the question to ask is this: Who asked you to watch Amos Yee's videos? A friend of mine put it this way:
"Singaporeans who were offended by him but who enjoy watching US comedians make fun of everything will soon see themselves made fun of. I never got the immense fuss over his video. He's not forcing you to watch it."
Take yet again the example of Seth McFarlane's Family Guy TV series a show that airs in Singapore that routinely mocks Christianity. DVD's of the show are readily available for purchase in Singapore. Yet where is the hue and cry that plagued Amos Yee's videos? The show has not been banned in Singapore. Why not if they are as sacrilegious and blasphemous as Amos Yee's videos. Why the double standards?
There is no human right to take offense codified into any law or universal charter. However many choose to be thin skinned and choose to take offense over this boy's offense.
There is no such thing as a right not to be offended. Nowadays, everyone gets offended by everything. If your feelings get wounded that's your problem surely. We all need to grow thicker skins rather than scream for state sponsored censorship.
Shame on all who took such grave offense and brayed for this teenager's criminal prosecution. He was a very naughty BOY and should have been simply ignored or counseled.
To all the oversensitive religious fanatics who rejoiced in the imprisonment of a 17-year-old boy for being controversial and obnoxious know this; you should have turned the other cheek.
It would seem that Amos Yee has had the last laugh. He has escaped persecution and is now free. Now let's wait to see what exactly he does with his new found freedom and lease on life.
I wish him well.

Been a tough week with lots of ups and downs in ministry and work. Questioning and wondering about the Lord’s direction for the future, and happy to receive counsel and wisdom for His hand on my life. Was also reminded through heartbreak this week about the tragedy of a Christian leader who apparently walked back on his teaching, but even his faith. What happened? What went wrong? Can we really say that such a tragedy wouldn’t happen to us, and that we’re wiser or more able to keep from making shipwreck of our faith? These are questions to ponder as we come to grips with the tragedy of fallen leaders. But thankful for the metaphor of these gifts from friends who bake — Hokkaido milk brioche and focaccia. It went to good use. 🤗 likewise, God sustains us with daily bread through the ministry of friends who love and nourish.
