April 11, 1944 the first B-17s made an emergency landing on Bornholm, at Skyttegård north of Nexø. The entire crew survives. Three were captured and taken to Dulag Luft near Oberursel in Germany for questioning, and subsequently divided into various camps. 6 escaped to Sweden. The aircraft belonged to USAAF, 8 Air Force, 447 Bomb Group, 708 Bomb Squadron, No. 42-31156, CG-L, named "Big Stoop".

Groups aligned with the conservative legal movement and its financial architect, Leonard Leo, are working to promote a publicly funded Christian school in Oklahoma, hoping to create a test case to change the Supreme Court’s interpretation of the First Amendment’s separation of church and state.

At issue is the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Oklahoma’s push to create the St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School, which would be the nation’s first religious school entirely funded by taxpayers. The school received preliminary approval from the state’s charter school board in June. If it survives legal challenges, it would open the door for state legislatures across the country to direct taxpayer funding to the creation of Christian or other sectarian schools.

Blitztempo beim Umbau Mit dem Autohaus in Mainz passte die Scherer Gruppe ihren mittlerweile neunten von elf SEAT und CUPRA Standorten innerhalb der vergangenen zwölf Monate an die aktuelle CUPRA CI an. „Es ist beeindruckend zu sehen, mit welchem Tempo die Scherer Gruppe die aktuellen Vorgaben umsetzt. Noch beeindruckender sind aber die Ergebnisse: Hier in Mainz ist ein Showroom entstanden, der die DNA von CUPRA mit jedem Gestaltungselement perfekt repräsentiert“, erklärt Bernhard Bauer, Geschäftsführer von CUPRA in Deutschland.

Nach rund vier Monaten Umbauzeit wird künftig das neueste Produktportfolio der Marken CUPRA und SEAT auf insgesamt 400 Quadratmeter Ausstellungsfläche angemessen in Szene gesetzt. „Mit unserem Investment in die Marke CUPRA tragen wir der guten Entwicklung der vergangenen Jahre Rechnung. Es macht großen Spaß zu sehen, wie wir gemeinsam kontinuierlich wachsen. Icelandair, 13 adet A321XLR uçağı için Airbus ile kesin bir sipariş vermiş ve ayrıca dört A321LR’yi SMBC Aviation Capital’den kiralama planlarını açıklamıştır.

Bu sipariş, Keflavik merkezli havayolu şirketini yeni bir Airbus müşterisi yapmaktadır.

Ekstra uzun menzili ile A321XLR, Icelandair’e yeni pazar fırsatlarını değerlendirme imkanı sunacak ve işletme maliyetlerini düşürmeye yardımcı olurken sürdürülebilirlik hedeflerini destekleyecektir.

Business Jets Market: Strategic Initiatives by Leading Manufacturers

Business or private jets were first introduced in the 1930s when light passenger planes were used to transport businessmen and politicians. But the sector significantly transitioned in the 1970s when companies decided to develop jets specifically for business travel. Presently, numerous manufacturers are competing with faster, more luxurious jets in the market. Strategies Adopted by Top Manufacturers

AIRBUS SE

Airbus SE was founded in 1970, with headquarters in Leiden, Netherlands. Recently they’ve simplified their organizational structure and entered several contracts. TwoTwenty large jets based on their A220-100 business class can go over 10,000 kilometers.

In February 2023, Tata Group-led Air India signed mega agreements with Airbus SE to supply about 250 new planes. By the second half of 2023, Air India is expected to receive 40 widebody A350s and 210 single-aisle A320neos worth over $50 billion. As per Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International of Airbus SE, “…The A350’s unique capability will unlock the pent-up potential of India’s long-haul market. Its technology, long reach and second-to-none comfort will enable… better economics and enhanced sustainability. Alongside the A350s, the A320 Family fleets will be the efficient, versatile asset to continue democratizing and decarbonizing air travel in the country ��� from domestic, regional, up to international levels.” (Source)

The A350 is an efficient wide-body aircraft in the 300-410 seat category. This aircraft features advanced technologies and aerodynamics, facilitating better fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, and reduced carbon dioxide emissions compared to its predecessor. Further, Airbus says the A350 boasts a 25% advantage over its competitors.

BOEING

Boeing is one of the most renowned aerospace companies in the world. Founded in 1916, they have been manufacturing telecommunication systems, rockets and planes ever since. According to Boeing, over 70% of government customers worldwide chose a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) for its head-of-state business jet. Boeing Business Jets won the prestigious 2020 Design et al. Yacht & Aviation design award competition for building business jets for the Dutch government and was placed first among multiple competitors in the Interior Design/VIP Completions category.

In February 2023, Boeing and Air India agreed on a deal involving 220 airplanes (10 777Xs, 20 787 Dreamliners and 190 737 MAXs) and 50 additional 737 MAX options and 20 787-9s. Stan Deal, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, commented, “Air India’s selection of Boeing’s family of passenger jets shows their confidence in our products and services in the world’s fastest-growing aviation market… With the industry-leading fuel efficiency of the 737 MAX, 787 Dreamliner and 777X, Air India is well positioned to achieve its expansion plans and become a world-class global airline with an Indian heart.” (Source)

BOMBARDIER

Bombardier was founded in 1942 with headquarters in Montreal and specialized in public transportation services. In December 2022, it secured a contract worth $267 million for 10 Challenger 350 aircraft – their largest deal of 2020 – and two Challenger jets ($105 million) to replace aging planes of the Canadian Armed Forces. Also, Bombardier exceeded its 2021 targets on all guided metrics, with revenues surpassing $6.9 billion – a 14% increase year-over-year, mainly due to higher deliveries of aftermarket services which tallied $1.5 billion for 2022 alone. Furthermore, Bombardier expects to boost business jet deliveries by at least 15% by the end of 2023 as strong demand for private flying drives the company’s resurgence. In 2023, the company plans to deliver more than 138 jets and target revenue of over $7.6 billion, a more than 10% increase over 2022. A350 aircraft of choice for Air India’s renaissance in long haul travel

A320 Family to be the cornerstone of Air India’s domestic and regional fleet

Mumbai, 14 February 2023 – The Tata Group-owned Air India has announced its commitment to order 250 Airbus aircraft to boost its domestic and international operations. The commitment includes 140 A320neo and 70 A321neo single-aisle aircraft as well as 34 A350-1000 and six A350-900 wide-body jets that will mark a new era for the country as the all-new, long-range aircraft celebrates its debut in the Indian market.

The order aims to both modernise and expand the airline’s fleet with the objective of creating a larger and premium full-service carrier that will cater to the growing travel demand in the region. Deliveries are set to commence with the first A350-900 arriving by late-2023.

“Airbus has been a longstanding partner of Air India, and these new aircraft will play an important part in delivering Vihaan.AI, Air India’s comprehensive transformation and growth strategy,” said Campbell Wilson, CEO and MD, Air India. “A core element of this transformation is the significant expansion of our network, both domestically and internationally, coupled with the elevation of our on-ground and onboard product to world-class standards. This order marks the start of a new chapter for both Airbus and Air India.”

Christian Scherer adds: “We salute Air India for its visionary strategy, picking the two reference aircraft types in each of their categories. We are thrilled and humbled to see these aircraft become the cornerstones of Air India’s renaissance. This fleet will propel the airline globally where it deserves to be - with the best.

Over the next decade, India will grow to have the largest population in the world, its economy will expand the fastest among the G20 nations, and a burgeoning middle class will spend more on air travel. As a result, passenger traffic in India will grow fast, including on the long-range markets in the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific that the A350 is well positioned to serve.

The A350 is the world’s most modern and efficient wide-body aircraft in the 300-410 seater category. The A350’s clean sheet design includes state-of-the-art technologies and aerodynamics delivering unmatched standards of efficiency and comfort. Its new generation engines and use of lightweight materials bring a 25 per cent advantage in fuel burn, operating costs and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, compared to previous generation competitor aircraft.

The aircraft offers a 3-class configuration cabin that is the quietest of any twin-aisle and offers passengers and crew the most modern in-flight products for the most comfortable long-range flying experience.

The A321neo is the longest-fuselage member of Airbus’ best-selling, single-aisle A320 Family, comfortably seating 180 to 220 passengers in a typical two-class layout, and as many as 244 in a higher-density arrangement. The A320neo has already set the standards as the world’s most comfortable short-to-medium-haul aircraft that typically accommodates from 140 to 170 passengers, with a maximum capacity of up to 180 travellers. Its environmental performance allows for at least 20 per cent less fuel burn and CO2 emissions as well as 50 per cent noise reduction, compared to previous generation aircraft.
