"Scenario."

Chris' had been in a very bad mood for the past few days since his plans hadn't gone as planned. He had decided to go to the bar in the afternoon to collect himself. He was distracted on the way. He accidentally bumps into someone. Chris hesitates just as he's about to shout. In front of him was a very sweet and beautiful girl. The girl was looking at him worriedly.

"I'm sorry. Are you okay?"

"I wasn't paying attention. I'm the one who should be apologizing."

"I'm glad you're okay. My name is Y/N. What's your name?"

"My name is Chris."

"Pleased to meet you."

"Do you have time ?"

"Yes."

"Maybe we can go for a drink."

"Sure. I already have time."

Chris and the reader are going to a cafe together. They become friends within a few hours. It's time for the reader to go. Reader kisses Chris' cheek as they say goodbye. Chris thinks today is not as bad as he thinks.

Aka ✨ why this movie is one of the most underrated ones I've ever seen and why it is some of Patrick Wilson's best work ✨

"If you like stories about chance and coincidence, here's one you've never heard" gives me the chills every time 😮‍💨

Patrick Wilson is one of the most underappreciated actors of his time, like, not only do his other projects demonstrate that he has drama, romance, instruments, and singing down ✨, but here he is finally given a chance to flaunt his impeccable comedic timing, vocalizations, and expressions

Idk maybe I just love movies with narration (ex., "Heathers," "Jerry Maguire," "Amelie," "Eloise at Christmastime," "Megamind," "American Made," "The Outsiders," etc.)

But jokes aside, I will defend Patrick Wilson's narration throughout the movie no matter whAT ANYONE SAYS YOU CAN PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGIES; IT IS AT TURNS FUNNY AND RELATABLE AND PROFOUND AND WE GET TO KNOW THE MAIN CHARACTER BETTER 😤😤

It does start a bit slow, especially if you aren't as invested in Patrick Wilson as I am 🙃🫠 but if you stick with it and pay attention to the subtle comedic elements in the meantime 👌🏻

This movie is not afraid to be a bit irreverent, which is a modern and mainstream rarity

Stretch and Charlie are so cute together; I wish more of their interactions had been kept in the final cut because when I think of the quality content that we missed 😩💖

"Who gains weight in their neck?" "Sexy people." "Three months of Rosetta Stone- I HATE THE FUCKING FRENCH." "We was gettin' all romantic, watching Titan-tic..." and so, so many more

Honestly, Karl is an integral part of this film as well- he may seem overtly cartoonish to some, but again, we get to know the main character better through him, as his presence gives us a visual of Stretch's inner struggle; he contributes to the dark humor vibe, and Ed Helms was clearly having the time of his life (as was the entire cast)

Speaking of which, stellar casting all around, especially those who were cast against type; love when directors give that stuff a chance. Everyone was made for their role

Same goes for the post-Candace club exit scene with the valet, the wannabe rapper, and the sex club exit scene (there's a man wearing only balloons. need I say more). I mean, the whole movie is basically the best part and I'm trying not to make this review me just naming every scene and going "yes. this is good" but these are some of the most standout parts

The soundtrack may be atrocious overall, but the exception is the song at the end (although I was disappointed when I read that it was originally supposed to be "Telephone Line" by ELO but they didn't have enough in the budget because that would have gone so hard) 😩💕

Speaking of the ending, why is it so incredibly pure and sweet to me that it would almost make me cry if I weren't medicated? 🥺 Something about the setting of the diner, exuding vintage charm and glowing in the sun the quiet morning after the previous night of chaos, and the serendipity of how Stretch and Charlie finally reveal how much they've obviously liked each other for a while, and after all of the danger and depravity, everything ends soft and gentle and alright 😊💖

This film is somehow so sleazy and wholesome at the same time- against the backdrop of drugs, sex clubs, threats of violence, and constant swearing, it's ultimately a story about overcoming cynicism and self-destruction, getting your "mojo" back, taking control of your life, and allowing for the possibility that things happen for a reason ✨ Honestly? 10/10

So...uh...

I realize this is more for being seasick and closer to emeto (which I'm not a fan of but some of the queasiness from fullness and indigestion absolutely am a fan of), but if you want some of the BEST indigestion sounds I've heard in a very long time, then check out High Card episode 6. Just like the whole episode has moments of it from Finn Oldman struggling to hold it in with very guttural sounds, moans, struggles, and the whole bit. With sound effects I haven't heard reused in other shows before. And when he's really sick it's just so bassy!

I want all the boys to eat but now especially Finn needs to.

Hi can I request Chris decker x plus!size reader I was thinking that when Chris almost got robbed and when sky died right next to him Chris never got married or had a kid when all of that happened instead he lived alone he had no wife or kids so after is incident Chris signed up for a dating app and he matched up with the reader and when they where having dinner Chris invited the reader into his home as long as she promised she wasn’t a serial killer or a rover she said she wasn’t when they were just sitting on his couch talking the reader asked him what was with all the questions Chris told the reader what happened with sky and he was trying to be careful the reader said she was sorry for what happened to him so maybe after a while into there friendly relationship they start dating and when they were just friends they slept together a lot so maybe that now there dating the reader opens up to Chris because he wants to know some of her secrets she told him that she was abused by her stepdad it stopped when she moved back in with her dad maybe for the end Chris got really serious with the reader and asked her to marry him.

A rich house in the mountains would typically be an ostentatious, fancy house situated amongst the snow-capped peaks of the mountain range. It could have a modern design and a modern interior, with sleek lines and designer furniture. It might have large windows that overlook the mountains, with stunning views of nature. It could have an outdoor fireplace and terrace with a luxurious seating area where the inhabitants can relax and enjoy themselves while admiring the scenery.

A huge, paradisiacal house that for Chris Decker was a kind of prison, the traumas he had suffered remained despite the fact that it had definitely been so long haunted him every day, especially at night when he tried to sleep, darkness surrounded him like the silence of the huge house.

He had not been out of his home much anymore, his trust in human beings was not as strong as it once was, he had also lost contact with his ex-wife despite seeing his daughter at certain times during the year.

Chris felt extremely lonely, afraid, sad and worried but his primal instincts prevailed one night since, after a few more glasses of wine, he found himself asleep on the couch the next morning. His hair tousled, a throbbing headache, his glasses forgotten on the floor like the glass and empty bottle of wine, his phone ringing with the alarm clock he had programmed for his morning exercises.

There didn't seem to be anything different except from his phone which kept lighting up showing notifications belonging to a dating app. The ginger couldn't remember how or why he had done it but in an effort to understand more about what had happened the night before he opened the app, with one hand he held the phone while the other rubbed his eye in an attempt to chase away sleep before placing his glasses in place on his face to read the messages.

There were several matches and requests for conversations, most were definitely attractive looking young women but looking for love or a fuck, something Chris was not looking for at that time.

The only contact that didn't alienate or disgust him was a reply from a young girl, in her profile picture she had y/h/c hair, y/e/c eyes and curves that the young man found attractive. It had her passions written on it and a brief description of her person which Chris didn't read right away, opting to read what he had written to her the night before.

Unfortunately for him the messages had apparently cleared and there was only a text lighting his tired face

'Thank you for the conversation yesterday, it was very interesting and pleasant'.

The rich young man could not remember what he had written to her at all but for some strange reason, the urge to delete the app did not come as strong as he was hoping. He had no intention of responding anyway, which is why he ignored it until lunchtime.

It was just when he was busy eating alone, soft music playing in the background, that a new notification appeared illuminating his phone and causing him to pick it up as if on impulse;

That's when he decided to reply to her with a gentle message explaining the situation.

The young woman who said her name was Y/n was very sympathetic to him, she stayed awake till late answering his messages, keeping him company until they both fell asleep.

It soon became a somewhat habit for both. The two of them texting each other every day, even getting to the next steps of sending voice messages, selfies, and photos of things they wanted to share, and after a period of several months they even got to making long phone calls.

It was only after several months though, that Chris found the courage to want to meet her in person, agreeing to go to a restaurant with her on a Friday night.

The young man was nervous, his tuxedo made him feel ridiculous which is why he decided to change into more casual clothes before leaving his house to drive his car to the restaurant.

An Italian restaurant, private and domestic, there were flowers everywhere and writing in Italian on the walls and on the menus. Inside there were several round tables already set, the atmosphere was definitely romantic and pleasant. Anyone would have fallen in love there but Chris was not there for that reason, although he had a red rose in his hand for his new "friend".

He entered the place awkwardly and made his way among the tables, searching with his eyes for Y/n.

Bruce Decker contemplates the stapler in front of him. Frank Sinatra plays on speakers down the hall. Somewhere near the heat of the party. But Bruce is, at the moment, most concerned with the stapler. Simple. Perfect, really. And it's right here, next to him. Before fax machines, cellular phones, pagers (he never saw the point), the internet, emails, digital paper trails, concurrent with the Rolodex and pneumatic tubes (he was thankful the building hadn't taken them out), there was the stapler. The proud general of the office supply corps. All clean lines. Distilled in purpose.

He's 80. Bruce is far past retirement. Somehow through solid work, an affable demeanor, a head of hair that remains steadfastly salt and pepper (leaning more dark brown than white—and that's not arrogance, that's honesty), a determined, thoughtful elegance (he's never worn another watch besides his grandfather's Hamilton), Bruce Decker is still standing. And so, he stands. No, not in the heat of the party. But close enough. Here, by the window which radiates a chill. There are snowflakes outside. Big, beautiful, cinematic ones.
