Re-watched 5x8 this morning and I found it interesting that when Chris brought up moving in together Lucy's apartment was never brought up as an option. Yet Tim has practically moved in to Lucy's place. She just wasn't comfortable with Chris invading her space. But Tim probably has his own dresser drawers and his own side of the closet.

Ironic how Chris starts subtly (but not really) grilling Tim over the steps he took for Celina‘s case because Nolan was there, even though he was CLEARED by IA, due to a “conflict of interest” yet this is the same man who insisted on interviewing his GIRLFRIEND for her case against Rosalind…I know they’re two completely different scenarios but still, it’s a little hypocritical in my opinion.
I have been mulling over this information in my head because I still find it ironic and I’m still juggling the possibility of him being evil in my head.🫠

At first, I didn't mind him. But after the humming incident, I lost all trust and respect for him. And I have no idea why Lucy didn't too. He gave me the creeps. The humming, pushing Lucy to meet his parents, pushing her to buy a house together. She clearly wasn't ready for any of it, and he kept pushing. I don't think he even noticed how uncomfortable she was, which just makes it worse
i’m so curious about chris because like personally i don’t trust him. tbh, i did once like when he first showed up, i thought he was okay. for a temporary love interest he was fine when he was first hinted at that but then they went on the double date and something felt off? like he always kept trying too hard and i get trying to impress someone but they way he continuously went about it was so off putting. also, how was he not more upset that his date basically ignored him the entire time? like he was a literal doormat and he could care less. then there was the dream a little dream of me moment where i was shocked. to lucy’s point, he had been working on the case so it checks out that it was stuck in his brain but the way he was so careless about it - like is he really that clueless or was it intentional because aside from it being such a huge red flag like it was so random that i am still so confused by it. then of course, adding his whole thing with rosalind into the mix, i’m just like ???? are you who i think you are ??? which like yes, i am fully aware of how hard i may be clowning myself but at the same time, some things don’t add up and i can’t tell if the writers that didn’t address it or if it was intentional like i remember reading how someone pointed out the time span from when he got into the car with rosalind and when lucy and tim found him and it doesn’t add up. along with the fact that if rosalind wanted him 💀 , he would have been. like i don’t understand rosalind’s motive there. additionally, everything after when he really leaned into the victim role and sought out the internet because “no one knew what he went through” like what?? because did he forget lucy was one of rosalind’s victims. no one could have related more to it than his then girlfriend. which i thought was also interesting that it was chris who led them to find rosalind in the first place. was that really such a lucky coincidence? lastly, the fact that i’m pretty sure this sentiment is shared vastly in the fandom. like for the most part, no one trusts him which like a. we’re clowns, it’s fine, but also b. if so many people have a bad feeling about him, are we really wrong??
anyway, lowkey excited for him to come back because either way it’s going to be funny or angsty and i’m here for both tbh.

You know what I really wanna see in S6…
Exasperated Husband Tim Bradford.
Like that scene in season 4 when he’s like “how much coffee did you have this morning” and then Lucy rambles and he looks so done with life 😂
I want a redo of that now that they’re dating. And for Lucy to just be like “you love me, remember.” And he’s like “sometimes I don’t know why” but in a none serious jokey way
See, I'm a bit on the fence with that one. I'm all for Exasperated Husband Tim making its return… as long as it's written properly. Like when Lucy ran up to him to warn him she had signed him up for Make A Wish and forgot about it… That whole exchange Hi, don't hate me - What did you do? - No, you're supposed to say, "I could never hate you." was absolutely golden… So I could absolutely picture your scenario in that same vibe.
The reason why I'm a tad weary is that, sometimes, I feel like it comes across as a bit too harsh or to the detriment of Lucy's character. Case in point, the scene you mentioned - and this is, of course, merely my opinion! I don't mean to ruin this scene for you or anybody who liked it. And truthfully I can't say that I hate it either… Just that it made me uncomfortable. Lucy was arguing with Chris, trying to convince him to charge a 16 year-old boy as a minor, something that is important… Only to be dismissed as being overdramatic for the sake of having a comedic moment. Sure, she was amped up on coffee… But considering that she had spent the night doing research to help Tyler and that she was getting frustrated by Chris' lack of empathy, downplaying her efforts to make her the butt of the joke kind left a bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe because I have been in the same shoes one too many times, dealing with ADAs like Sandford… To be clear, it's not Tim's comment itself that bothered me as much as the context. It just felt too dismissive - and that was never brought back later. As a matter of fact, Lucy seemed particularly normal after that. And considering that Chris was introduced as an antagonist (at that point), having Tim side with him, even if indirectly, was quite the choice. In a way, it reminds me of Tim's comment about Lucy trying to make him do relaxation after his shooting and laughing with Isabel about it. It wasn't offensive per se… Just insensitive, I guess. If that makes any sense.
And I can't believe I answered you this seriously 🙈 So let me end this with : give me all the jokey Exasperated Tim/Fond Eyeroll Lucy!

Chapter 3 of "The Secret Dating Era' is now online.
______
Follow the link for more.
Sneak peak from the beginning of the chapter:
"I'm sorry. No end-of-shift time off on my watch."
"When does Sergeant Grey get back?"
He slumps back in his chair. At least he can still rely on his gaze. Because Officer Scowen decides to retreat. Some things were just an imposition. It's not his problem if her son downloaded a computer virus and now, she must go to the electronics store. Let her do it on her day off. Or teach her son not to open attachments in emails from unknown senders.
With an "Okay," Scowen leaves. Finally.
So back to the file in front of him, which he has been trying unsuccessfully to read for twenty minutes. Don't people actually have a job to do? And it certainly doesn't consist of torturing the Watch Commander with trivia all the time.
When he hears Sanford's voice, he wishes Scowen and her problems back. The day has certainly just hit rock bottom.
"Heard you were in the big office today." Is that guy always grinning that stupidly?
"Yeah, just, uh, keeping it warm for Grey." He tries not to let on and is proud of himself for even managing a fake smile. "Something I can help you with?"
Sandford looks to the side for a moment and takes a breath.
"I was hoping I’d get your opinion."
Oh dear. His opinion. This can't be good. Because there's only one thing that connects him to Sandford. And that's Lucy. And if there's one thing he doesn't want to think about, it's Lucy and Sandford combined. Well, he wants to think about Lucy. No, he thinks about Lucy almost every minute. But he doesn't want to think about Lucy in the context of Stanford. That always comes along with a certain nausea. Automatically he sits up a little straighter in his chair. Braces himself for what is to come.
"Lucy and I have been looking at houses to buy."
Oh fuck. Nodding is good. Come on Tim, just nod. And smile. He guesses he looks pretty dumb right now.
"Yeah, she, uh … she mentioned something about that."
He hears his own voice. Was this one just an octave higher? Whoa. Yes. Mentioned. That's one way of putting it. He sees that Chris suddenly has his mobile in his hand. No, he won't ….
"You know her taste. Is this worth showing her?"
… he will

Release: October 3, 1988
Lyrics:
(Missing you)
I′ve been missing you
(Missing you)
I've got the roses, I′ve got the wine
With a little luck, she will be here on time
This is the place we used to go
With romantic music and the lights down low
And as you stand there amazed at the door
And you're wondering what all this is for
It's just a simple thing, from me to you
The lady that I adore
′Cause there′s something that you should know
It's that I′ve been missing you, more than words can say
And that I've been thinking about it every day
And the time we had just dancin′ nice and slow
And I said, "Now, I've found you, I′m never letting go"
There is no reason to the things that we do
You can break a heart with just a word or two
And take a lifetime to apologize
When the one you love's in front of your eyes
And I will fall to my knees like a fool
If it's the only way of getting through
You see if I think you are beautiful
Someone else is gonna feel it too
So there′s only one thing to do
Tell you that I′ve been missing you, more than words can say
And that I've been thinking about it every day
Well, tonight′s our night for dancin' nice and slow
Because, now, I′ve found you, I'm never letting go
No, now I′ve found you, I'm never letting go
(Missing you)
(Missing you)
I've been missing you
(Missing you)
I′ve been missing you
(Missing you)
I′ve been missing you
(Missing you)
I've been missing you, girl
(Missing you)
(Missing you)
(Missing you)

Just in case anyone else is ever trying to find the original of this quote, it's actually not from the 2006 Christopher Sandford biography (or from one of Philip Norman's books, which I also saw cited on Tumblr) but from Chris Salewicz's 1986 Paul bio. (Page 212 in the version that's up on the Internet Archive, which has both the Sandford and Salewicz books). The full quote:
"Eight days after Paul and Linda had plighted their troth, John Lennon and Yoko Ono were similarly married, in a civil ceremony in Gibraltar. More than any boardroom bitterness or studio squabbling, the close proximity in time of the weddings symbolized the irrevocable split between the two men. It also explained much of the subsequent acrimony, particularly on John’s part: for he had been free to marry Yoko since November 8 of the previous year when his divorce from Cynthia had been finalized. Yet it seems no coincidence that John remarried only a week after Paul’s wedding. No matter how much he loved Yoko, the Gibraltar ceremony seems like something close to an on-the-rebound reaction to the loss of his first great love, Paul McCartney, whose matriarchal sense of order but paternal sense of purpose had provided John with a stabilizing influence. As Paul had sought a mother figure, so John had found a substitute for both his father, the missing Alf Lennon, and his errant mother, Julia, in the vastly complex figure of Paul McCartney. In later years, John would admit that Paul had been the first love of his life, and Yoko the second."
It's not clear if the last line is based on something specific the author heard or whether it's just him romanticizing things that John said publicly, but based on the other quasi-Freudian musings and the fact that this was published in 1986, I tend to lean towards the latter.
“Eight days after Paul and Linda had plighted their troth, John Lennon and Yoko Ono were similarly married…..It also explained much of the subsequent acrimony, particularly on John’s part: for he had been free to marry Yoko since Nov. 8 of the previous year when his divorce from Cynthia had been finalized. Kickstand Jenny
