The moment Chlostars have been waiting years for! Chloe finally made her solo Waterbomb debut this Saturday and also debuted her new blond hair! Fans not only went crazy online but also in the crowd, with people saying Chloe drew in one of the loudest and most excited crowd. She really made a splash, didn't she?

Yall...It's been centuries since a Chloe solo schedule. She had to make it count...AND SHE DID! Chloe trended on Twitter for the entire day, and then the next day, "SHE'S REALLY BLOND" trended...Her power, guys.

Of course, there was beef before the performance with Baebi stans already saying Baebi washed Chloe before she even got on the stage, that Chloe doesn't have the stage presence or discography for a festival like Waterbomb, that she was going to be boring, yap, yap, yap––Chloe is a lot of things but boring? Bad discography? No stage presence? We have to be serious. Baebi Twitter was really quiet after Chloe got on stage. That's all I'll say!

CHLOE OPENING MENT TRANSCRIPTION: "Hiiii Waterbomb! I'm your star, Chloe! I'm so happy to be here! Are you happy to see me?" The crowd cheers, sounding more prominently female than usual. Chloe laughs, waving to the crowd sweetly with a bright smile on her face. "I'm so excited to be here and perform for you guys! Are you ready to get wet?" Chloe sticks her tongue out playfully with a laugh before she turns away from the crowd and gets in position for Rollercoaster.

Chloe literally had the time of her life. You could really tell she enjoyed performing by herself and was having a blast interacting with the audience. She was shooting the hell out of those waterguns which looked hilarious since she's so short. Constellations said this is the happiest she's looked in months. There wasn't a second on stage where she wasn't smiling.

Even off-stage, she was having a blast! She was seen in the audience with the other Venus girls during Minho's performance, Yugyeom's performance, and Kiss of Life's performance! Festivals and high-energy performances like this are truly where Chloe shines and shows who she really is as a performer.

Chloe styled herself and did her own makeup. In a vlog taken before her performance, she explained how Mydol offered her a stylist and makeup artist, but she adamantly refused and picked out her own bathing suit and makeup. She did have someone do her hair, of course, but she said she wasn't skilled enough to get it the shade of blond she wanted.

Her bathing suit was a hot topic online. The debate boiled down to some people wishing she showed more skin and other people liking that she remained "conservative" with her bathing suit choice. It was actually a really annoying discourse, but what's new on Constellation Twitter.

Listen, Chloe was already successful before this performance, duh, but this really boosted her as a soloist. Her streams went up in the thousands! Underwater, Rollercoaster and Siren were charting again after years of not being on the charts. She was already on the map, but this made her the map! People are foaming at the mouth for more Soloist!Chloe!

Pop! also reentered the charts but it reentered in the TOP TEN...She's so famous guys. The Pop! performance was really the highlight of the show. The energy, the song, the vocals, it was everything, truly, people in the audience were saying they felt like they were at a Chloe concert and were confused when it was time for another person to come on. Crazy. She's so famous, yall.

After the success of her performance, Chloe would start teasing a potential solo comeback, making it the first solo comeback in years. Waterbomb 2024 truly was Chloe's, guys!

ChloStar:

After abdicating the crown in favor of restoring the original Butterfly Royal Line to the throne, Star decided that she still wanted to help people and to do so, become a diplomat between monsters and mewmans. At Marco’s suggestion they decide to take a year in a different country on Earth, as a sort of, Diplomatic Training Wheels type thing. So after accidentally helping out in an Akuma Battle Star jubilantly launches into the air declaring that this city and its constant fighting rock. 

And Queen Bee, well, after Chloe began to make a turn for the better, and after things got just bad enough to warrant the three support Miraculous’ to be out on a more permanent basis, she’d been a bit wary on what to do with herself. She’d thrown herself head first into Hero Work as it was the only thing she could feel 100% concrete about, and then here came a girl with hearts on her cheeks. Exuberant, joyous, willing to make friends with anything, but wary of all those who could wrong her. She transformed with magic, she grew limbs and sprouted wings like a Butterfly, but she was no Akuma. 

She floated into the air and loudly announced that she liked it here.

And Chloe thought to herself, if only for a brief, stupid moment, that she’d like her here too.

Ladybird:

After their foes had been defeated, and their powers lay dormant, Minto had a bit of a struggle in what to do with her life. Feeling adrift without the promisce of Destiny in Mew Mint, she threw herself into her passion, ballet. While she stays in contact with her friends back in Japan Minto is in Paris for the forseeable future, in her last years of high school, studying under the rigorous tutelage of a former Prima, she’d thought that the world had no need for Mew Mint anymore.

And while that may be true, when you have supernatural powers, and your ballet teacher morphs into a wicked beast set to make the whole world dance, you transform and kick some ass. She’d been showing off to a cute girl who claimed to be a designer, intent on at least getting oone cute french girl’s number, when she heard her teacher cackle maniacally. The girl helped her somewhere safe, and then ran off.

Which was all well and good anyway, she needed a private spot to transform.

She was a bit rusty

Marinette in the Meanwhile, has decided that the time had come to officially give up on Adrien. the universe seemed hellbent on keeping them apart, and at this point, after advice from Tikki and her Mother, she came to the conclusion that she was expending far too much emotional energy on chasing him. Even she could admit when it was getting unhealthy. So she doubled down and focused on improving her craft with the free time she suddenly had, and through one of her friends (literally any of them, someone’s Bound to have a connection with a ballerina) was allowed to sit in while a transfer student was practicing, to better learn how to design outfits for flexibility.

It seemed like the girl was trying to show off infront of her.

And then, because this always happens, the teacher turned into an Akuma and Marinette had to cut both of their practices short as she escorted the girl somewhere safe before transforming.

And sure she’d heard of the Tokyo Mew Mews before, but she’d never expected one of them to be in town!

She wasn’t overtly star struck or anything, but maybe she wanted to show off a bit herself, to show a big shot superhero that the kids in Paris were just as cool.

When she returned to the dance studio to apologize to Minto Aizawa about all of this, the ballerina had looked even more winded than she. 

They talked for some time longer and it was only after she’d given Minto her phone number that she realized the girl had been and was continuing to flirt with her.

'Hotline Bling' mashed up with 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing' actually works

Carols don't really go with much, except the holidays.

But surprisingly, the lyrics of Drake's 2016 hit "Hotline Bling" seem to go pretty well with the melody of Christmas carol "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."

Twitter user Becca Rose posted a video of herself singing the mashup, which she said was discovered in a Tumblr post. 

And hey, you know what, it really does go well together.

other people have said its the human zoo and because those were real things having them in fiction is...bad?

but like...the zoo is explicitly treated as weird and strange and uncomfortable, something seemingly utopic on the surface but clearly has some weird shit going on under the surface

and there seems to be a whole hatred of villains getting ANY nuance lately, as if them having logical reasons for why they do what they do is somehow excusing what they do, rather than just adding a layer of depth to the character that lets you understand how a person could end up doing that kind of thing

like leave the excusing bad stuff they’ve done for people who say “jasper is an innocent cinnamon roll”, the show itself isn’t doing that

So kind of a weird question but how do you come up with some of your crossover ships? Is it something you think up on purpose (like, 'I like this character so I wanna cross them over with a different one' and think on it til you find a good match) or does it just sort of hit you out of no where sometimes?

I wouldn’t call it wierd! I do admit a lot of my crossovers can be kind of out of left feild at times, so wanting to know the thought process makes sense. 

It’s actually a pretty wierd/long answer so it’s under a cut.

TL;DR The Ships i particularly care about are always incidental to the crossover story i have in mind, and the stories themselves come out through strings between franchises on a worldbuilding level i either made myself because of some wierd psychological block i made as a child or simply considering how the world of one series would work in relation to one of arguably a different genre.

And also i’m super weak to Sci Fantasy as a genre and since no one writes those damn stories i have to crossover sci fis and fantasies to make it happen.

It’s pretty heavily rooted in how I used to view shows and engage with fandom. See back when the gender binary was getting me down when i was in my early teens, i felt really weird about liking things that were angled towards boys. And since i’d only just started existing in fandom spaces beyond favoriting every single art on deviantart and just started reading fic, it felt extra wierd. So something i would do when reading fic of, say, Transformers Animated, is that i would take the roles and personalities of the characters and translate them to Sailor Senshi in my mind so that i’d feel less embarrassed about reading fic.

And so on and so fourth. So when the weird shame began to fade and the characters were allowed to be themselves in my mind, i had all of these affiliations i had no idea what to do with. So I made my first crossover fic. It was p. bad, I would rather not get into it, But as i’d been writing I’d considered if the Autobots were involved somehow in the Chaos War, or if the Great War was just Cybertron’s part in the entire Chaos War, according the allspark almanac Kinmoku is a recognized planet for them, so they’d at least be tangentially aware of princess Kakyuu and the Starlights. 

So then i plotted out a fic that took place during the Silver Millenium that was essentially ‘to celebrate the newfound peice Queen Serenity invites Ultra Magnus and all the other war veterans we know of to a party on the Moon’

It featured one tiny scene where Pluto was allowed to join the party and she and Magnus forewent the dancing and simply talked to eachother all night, happy to have someone to simply share in conversation with. And that’s how Sailor Pluto/Ultra Magnus as a ship came to be. It wasn’t the first one I made, that was Raphael/Sailor Saturn, but that had been made more as a desire for more female characters in TMNT and it was made to better streamline imaginary games when my friends wanted to play ninja turtles and my buddy Alex had already claimed being April.

But the transformers one is the one that matters, because that worldbuilding, the way the worlds flow together inspired how i made crossovers entirely. The first step is always on a worldbuilding level. It’s never out of a desire for ships, but rather a desire to mess around with worldbuilding. The ships are always incidental to the crossover. I didn’t start crossing Magical Girl Series with BNHA just for ships, I wanted to see how Magical Girls could feasibly still exist in a world of quirks and pro heroes, then i wondered how they’d stay hidden so they wouldn’t be arrested for vigilantism, then i thought it would be hilarious if one of the most ‘sparkly power of love’ magical girls ever saved one of the UA kids from her respective Evil Magical enemies.

So from there ‘Bakugou Katsuki is saved by Wedding Peach’ Becomes an easy conclusion to draw. It was initially just supposed to be a oneshot where it happens, she erases his memory, and leaves. That was it. it wasn’t until i started wondering how he’d react to figuring out someone messed with his memories that the series began, as well as the ship. So birthed Flooding the Sky (and Blurring the Darkness)

All the Star crossover ships are much the same, i went in just wanting to see how Star would act if she was sent to THIS Earth instead of the Earth with Marco and Jackie and Echo Creek. Which through  the same type of shenanigans was how Stiro, Starhunk and ChloStar all began. 

Though most of the bnha/Star Vs stuff was, for the most part, a little more for the Star Vs Metaverse than my actual crossover collection, the sheer volume of different timeline crossover ships was odd considering we made them FOR the crossover kids we wanted, which was odd since i’d only ever had one crossover child before this (Re:Pluto and Ultra Magnus) I made Dekustar to give Sandy a first mate on the SS crossover, Someone else Suggested Kouki so Hekugou was now in the same timeline, Someone else made Jackieroki for a third child to complete that timeline’s trio, I made Freya and subsequently Bakustar for a joke, Tsustar was made a thing simply as a need for Star to have at least one son in one timeline. And most recently @gererrin and I made a different branching path for Star/Todoroki (I mean RECENTLY like two nights ago i don’t even have a ship name for them yet) 

But the timeline that I’ve actually found interesting beyond the child involved was in fact TenStar. And like the ships before it, it came from the story and my writer’s brain, not the creative demands of my artist brain. I considered what would happen when Star starts going through Mewberty at UA, since she couldn’t be let loose, was there a more peaceful way to ease someone through Mewberty? Who would volunteer to take her to the nurse’s? Momo because she’s staying with her before the dorms become a thing? or would Tenya, being Class Rep take it upon himself since there doesn’t seem to be a Nurse’s aid in their class?

then I wrote An Earthling’s Guide to Dealing with Mewberty and TenStar swallowed my soul in a way the others just weren’t quite able to. Because unlike the others, it was made as an extension to the story not with an end result in mind. While i did eventually make a next gen kid for them, what mattered more to me was the actual ship, so that seems to be my formula when creating crossover ships.

Wonder how two franchises could possibly be the same Earth
