Your Honey is Quiet

even our loudest honey cannot sing like the honey back home

a non-alcoholic cocktail, built in the glass it is drunk in, joining its kin in the @worldsbeyondpod unofficial cookbook

🍯 1/2 tbsp of even our loudest honey (garlic honey with rosemary, spruce tips and pine tips)

🍋 a squeeze of a lemon wedge

🧊 stir well over a large ice cube

🌲 fill most of the glass with chilled fevertree tonic

🌸 top with your favourite kombucha (i used one called nettles and petals from cultured kombucha)

✨ garnish with some more drizzles of even our loudest honey and a thick twist of lemon

Nes gadol haya po! I made dinner and every family member ate it not just without complaint, but with enthusiasm! This has never happened before. It was: turkey pesto meatballs with marinara, ciabatta, and salad/veggies for the kids. They both even tried the piece of red pepper I gave them. A true miracle!

Food waste competition encourages children to get creative and recycle

Hillingdon Council has launched a competition for local primary aged children inviting them to share creative and sustainable ways to store food waste indoors to try and win a prize.   Children aged between four and 11 are tasked with finding or repurposing a container in their home, such as an ice cream tub or old lunchbox, that could be used as a food waste caddy.     The initiative encourages children and their families to learn about food waste recycling and its benefits to the environment. I’ve linked to them before but if anyone is interested in authentic pottery, wood work, spices, olive oil, ceramics, and more from Palestinian artisans this shop is run by MECA (Middle East Children’s Alliance) who from everything I’ve researched looks like a reputable organization. It is as we know near impossible to get aid and resources into Gaza right now but they sent out this email on the 13th:

They also sell things like cookbooks to engage in, support, and preserve Palestinian culture. As their website states it is difficult for them to get orders out right now but some of the things I ordered last week arrived quickly!
