#Children of Ares and Aphrodite

I have such a strong adoration for the idea of Ares and Aphrodite as a couple.

First, you have Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty. She is literal desire and could have practically any mortal or immortal she wanted, yet it's Ares that she wants in the end. And while Ares is described as being handsome, it's pretty clear that is not what draws Aphrodite to him. There's something about him, something deeper than his good looks, and the idea that she loves him even when it's said that the others on Olympus (even his own parents) all hate him. It's just such a powerfully romantic idea.

And then you have Ares, the God of War, described as being brutal and bloodthirsty. Yet despite all of that, there is a softer side to him that not many people really take in and yet it makes itself clear every time for Aphrodite. She's beautiful, yes, but there's obviously more to it than that. He's not simply in lust with her, he's in love with her, meaning like her, he sees past the basic attractiveness and there's something much deeper that draws him in. They're both judged for their outter appearance but see each other on a much deeper level than that.

(You also have the fact that Aphrodite is/was a War Goddess which again makes their connection all the more fascinatingly sweet.)

And you know one of the other things I love about them? Their unhealthy moments are somehow just as (twistedly) sweet as their healthy ones: I mean Aphrodite was so jealous of Ares relationship with Eos that she cursed her with insatiable lust for men. Meanwhile Ares was so jealous of Aphrodite's relationship with Adonis that he killed him. They're perfectly imperfect together!

Not to mention their whole general story - falling in love, forced to seperate when Aphrodite was given to his brother instead, sneaking around behind her husbands back so they could be together, having children including a daughter who is literally the Goddess of Harmony and a son who is the God of Reciprocated Love - you can't get more of a classic love story than this!

i like to imagine that because ares embodies the misery and bloodlust of warfare, he also embodies the aftermath. when his champions triumph, he becomes the tall, beautiful hero which history books portray winners as, but when his side fails he will physically take on the appearance of an emaciated child that gorges on the guts of war horses and human corpses (always sacrificed to him without fail, the battlefield is his altar)

athena, her father’s beloved daughter, always grew faster than her brother. she was the oldest, yes, but their ages became more evident as war tactics, strategy, and weaponry became more advanced. with each new scientific, methodical, or philosophical breakthrough jn the name of war she seemed to age, become more elegant and handsome, more cold and intelligent.

but brutality is an ageless song, and from the moment the first man raised his fist to strike down another until present day, violence for the sake of violence had never developed past instinctual bloodlust. ares’ adult form came to be unnaturally, after eons of his ritualistic feasting, his muscles and sinew and bones stretched and grew because of the blood he consumed.

athena’s marble temples spring up across the land, her offerings are hot wines, fat calves, olives and blue grapes, perfumes and spices and incenses served on silver platters by maiden hands. her brother’s face is covered in gore and his red eyes seem even more wicked on his skinny face. their father does not look at him because his gaze is honest and truthful. but the eyes of kings never have room for ugly things.

The funny thing about the PJO cabin system is that everyone's always all 'oh the twelve' this and 'the twelve' that but that's absolutely not even remotely accurate. To start, right off the bat it's thirteen, not twelve, because they don't count Hades. But not really because before Percy, there were no big three kids, so we're down to ten active cabins already but it's actually eight because Artemis and Hera don't make demigods.

And of those eight, Mr. D is stuck at camp (thus not really making new demigods all that often) and his only two kids don't even sleep in a cabin, they sleep in the Big House with him.

So, pre-Percy, there are seven active cabins at Camp Half-Blood:

Glee club, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Geeks, the Farmers, the 'Sketchy Kids' and the Popular Kids.

Or, in other words, the Apollo, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Demeter, Hermes (and the unclaimed kids) and Aphrodite cabins.

What's cool is that you can already see the cabin dynamics in the show. For example, the Athena cabin allies with the Hermes cabin for the numbers. The Hermes kids plus all the unclaimed kids? It's the biggest cabin in the camp by far. It's a battle strategy. Luke and Annabeth's close relationship is just the cherry on top for Annabeth. It'll be really cool to see how the show develops the differences in the cabins during the series.

Started as a random crossover between Proseka and Greek mythology/PJO. Then it went out of control. And then halfway I got lazy.

My personal favourite is Shiho's design. And Nene's, but does it really count as my design if half of it is literally from the game?

Harmonia was walking through the lair and just thinking about her life and her siblings lives

When her old ‘Mother (What the kids call their egg-incubator they used to call ‘mother’) recognized them as her children

How she would ignore and neglect them for weeks or months on end and if she didn’t turn them into ghost when she recognized them they would probably be do, and than would love-bomb them just to go back to neglecting them and ignoring them until she wanted them to do something for her

So when she disappeared for who knows how long it took the kids to take a while (Decades) to notice her disappearance…and they weren’t really complaining they were already taking care of themselves and didn’t really have a positive relationship with her altogether so you can’t really blame them when they were not devastated about their ‘Mothers’ disappearance and they were fine just taking care of themselves and the lair and the being alone was a plus.

So when Harmonia found out they would be getting a new Aphrodite, she almost had a heart attack! She was already worried about keeping Phobos and Deimos from fighting random and more powerful ghost and get hurt and to keep creeps from Eros and to add someone who could hurt them….it scared her

So when she met Danny (Before her siblings to make sure he’s at least somewhat safe to be around and to make notes on his temper, to keep her siblings safe) so you can see why she was surprised when Danny started off by saying how he was not there to boss them around and to make them stay and that if they wanted to leave they could and if they needed help just ask him but he will ask they stay for a bit at least

And how glad she was they made the hard decision to trust a adult for once

Now they have a amazing mother figure who actually takes care of them and adores them just as much as they adore him and they get to mess with the Ancient Of War (HOW dare this man be married to their Mother!!!) and have no concerns about what he will do to them

So yeah the kids are pretty happy with their life’s or well afterlife

I wonder what Ares was thinking when his lover Aphrodite was pissed at his grandson Hippolytus for wanting to stay single and got him killed, but Artemis took his body to her nephew Asclepius who's also Ares's great grandson who then revived him, in turn leading to Zeus killing Asclepius which then pissed off his dad Apollo who killed the Cyclopses and got exiled for a while

(but fortunately Asclepius got revived as a god and Apollo found himself a new boyfriend in his exile)

Children of Aphrodite, Poseidon and Ares are either hot, gorgeous or sexy. (Or all of the above). I don’t make the rules.

Children of Aphrodite have the type of beauty you never forget. You’ll remember it and start to fantasise about them, until you realise you can’t quite remember the colour of their eyes or the quite shade of their hair. But you just know they’re extremely beautiful. Gummy smiles here and there. Their voices are attractive, no matter the volume that they might speak. Features that they have are beautiful no matter what size. People that felt insecure of something specific like freckles, change their minds when they see a child of Aphrodite that has them—because it looks so wonderful on them that they can’t help but admire it.

Children of Poseidon have the rebellious type of beauty where you know or think they’re a trouble maker. Anything looks good on them, especially piercings. It’s the type of face which would make you blush upon making eye contact with them. Or the type of beauty where you’ll think, “wow.” They look like Roman gods. Too bad most of them never realise it, not even when they have a lover. (Cough cough..Percy).

Children of Ares have the type of looks that make your whole entire body hot and makes your brain stop working for a couple of seconds after first meeting them. It’s the type of beauty where you’ll stutter or start to mumble underneath their fiery gaze and the intense atmosphere that surrounds them. You feel somewhat intimidated but that intrigues you and pulls you in. There’s a reason why Aphrodite was attracted to Ares y’know. It’s the type of thing where you’ll wonder, “who is he” “what’s her name?”. While children of Poseidon look like Roman gods, children of Ares full-on look like Greek gods. Most of the have sculpted features on their bodies or faces. They have attractive arms, not necessarily muscular but when you watch their arms move you can help but be attracted to have pleasing they look. They have smiles that are somewhat crooked but mostly it seems like a challenge, like “hah..? What did you say?” Or “*..you think you can hurt me?”, “what the hell was that, can’t you do better than that?”.

Hera: Don’t worry, it’s normal for babies

Aphrodite: What? Harmonia’s fine. I was talking about Ares

Ares, sobbing from Harmonia’s room: I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Yesss! Every time Ares sees one of his babies, he bursts out in tears. I still cannot get the thought of him bawling his eyes out during her wedding. Aphrodite had to be the goddess of tissues that day.

I can't get the headcanon out of my head that Phobos is a big papa's boy and Deimos is a mama's boy.

Phobos is the personification of the warriors' fears. What they fight for. They are afraid of losing their loved ones if they lose, so they continue to fight. They are afraid for themselves, so they go on despite the pain. They are afraid for their friends, so they try to fight together.

Only fools are not afraid.

Deimos is the personification of what warriors are willing to do for love. Father need to kill everyone for the safety of his family? He will. Mother need to distract the enemies so that the children can go unnoticed? So be it. Death guarantee peace? Fine.

The influence of the nightmare twins without context is frightening, however, when you start thinking about it from a different angle, you understand that not everything is so simple and clear.

• Can pull off any shade of red

• hot asf, all of them

• They have near-perfect aim, and so excel in combat and most sports

• They have a secret stuffed animal mascot. Nobody knows about it

• Their faces flush red when they get angry or excited

• Try to come off as witty, but actually spend hours thinking about clever comebacks/insults

• Their cabin is surprisingly neat and clean like an army barracks

• constantly get pranked on by the Hermes cabin, but can never catch them in the act

• They always wear their hair up so they'll be ready for anything
