Do men just breed to avoid divorce? Is divorce approved by Moses?
Ki Tetze (When you go out) Deuteronomy 21:10-25:19, Isaiah 54:1-10Deuteronomy is written by Mose in his last 30 days. These are not words from ADONAI’s mouth. Yeshua Jesus in Mark 3:10 states that because of the hard hearts of man that Moses even suggested ‘a get’ could be used to have a divorce. He states that from the beginning there would be no divorce. THEN the FALL happened. THEN Moses gave…

Asking Deities for Help
Asking for help is a daunting task; even more so when you’re asking eternal supremely powerful beings. There’s a lot of worry and questions around which deity is best to ask and how to ask for help without offending. There can be a lot riding on doing this properly so you can get the help you’re asking for.
Today, we’ll be taking a dive into the process of asking deities for help.
The Main Tenets of Asking
These tenets apply to asking any type of spirit or entity
Give and take
The number one rule of asking for help is knowing that offerings will be owed. Though ‘the larger the ask the better the offering’ is a good guideline to follow, you don’t have to give Them everything you own. If all you can spare is a glass of water, that’s okay. The important thing is that you give what you feel is an appropriate offering.
Rely on relationships
Imagine an artist gets two messages asking for a special commission. But the artist is pretty busy, so they can only squeeze one request in. One is an internet stranger, one is a close friend; which do you think the artist is more likely to take?
The relationships we build can greatly affect how our requests are received. Many deities and spirits are more willing to go out of their way to help a worshiper they care about than someone approaching them for the first time.
This second tenet is especially important in our next section.
Finding Someone to Ask
The very first thing you should ask yourself is: Do you need a deity for this? Going back to the Second Tenet, if the task is within the capabilities of a spirit we already have a relationship with, we can ask them! If you don’t have any existing relationships with deities, go through your spiritual team (spirit guides, familiars, ancestors, etc) and see if any of them could be suitable for this task.
If you have an existing relationship with only one deity, you can consider if They might be a good fit. I believe there are tasks any deity can do, regardless of Their domains. If you’re suffering from a mental health episode, you don’t need to reach out to a new deity. Your main or patron deity is fully capable of comforting you and helping you.
Even if the domain doesn’t fall under Them, They might be connected to a deity that could help. For example, an Apollo devotee asking Artemis for help in their childbirth. The twin gods are very close, so Artemis is likely to favor Her brother’s worshipers like Her own. You can ask your main/patron god to persuade the other into helping you (i.e. ask Apollo to ask Artemis), or talk to the helping deity directly (i.e. ask Artemis yourself).
If you don’t have an existing relationship with any spirits, or you really don’t want to ask the spirits and deities you do have a relationship with, here are some questions to help narrow down your choices:
🔷 Whose domain does the task fit under?
🔷 Do any deities in the previous list have a connection with the deities I worship/work with? Are any of Them in the same pantheon at least?
🔷 What is my purpose in asking for help? Do I just want Their energy to help me achieve my goal and then say goodbye? Or do I want to form a relationship with this deity?
🔷 Are there close/paired deities I could ask for help from? (i.e. asking both Odin and Frigg for help in divination)
With your list made, find who you feel especially interested in, and ask.
How to Ask for Help
Let’s get this out of the way: Timing does not matter. This is not a spell, it’s just a conversation. It can be done during any moon phase, any day of the week, any time of day or night. Do not worry about if it’s the “right time” to approach that deity, unless you’re trying to be more formal.
As stated before, offerings are very important in this process. There should be two offerings made: one when you make the request and one after the request is completed. Think of the first like a down payment; you’re giving Them a little something now in thanks for listening to you. The second is the actual “thank you for helping me” offering.
Offerings do not have to be food or water; you can give objects like coins or a new altar candle, and you can perform actions like volunteering or cleaning their altar space weekly for a month. You can also combine these offerings, offering a plate of food beside incense, or a lit candle and a glass of wine. Again, it just has to feel like an appropriate offering.
For the actual asking, stay respectful and humble. Do not demand that They “must” do it, and do not threaten Them if They do not help you. Ask nicely, and be understanding that They may choose not to help you (which we will talk about later).
How to Thank Them for Help
Make sure the second offering is given promptly! Not only is it rude to make others wait, but the more time that goes by, the more likely you are to forget it entirely. Personally, I would say if you have the materials then you shouldn’t make Them wait more than a couple days; if you need to go out and buy what you promised, explain the situation to Them (with another small offering) and give Them an idea of when you’re planning on giving the ‘thank you’ offering. All in all, I don’t think you should wait longer than two weeks.
Be sincere in your thanks, and try not to tack on “it would have been nice if” statements. I would also not advise asking for more help immediately; it can set you into a bad habit. Even with proper offerings, the gods could get annoyed that you just want more and more out of Them.
Thank Them for Their help, give the offering, and close. Wait at least a couple days before asking for another favor.
An Example
I work an outdoor job, which means we get the day off for bad weather. One week, my partner was very stressed due to a class presentation on Friday. The weather was going to be touchy that day, and I really wanted the day to be called off so I could be home for him after his presentation.
I decided to ask both Zeus and Hera because:
☑️ I worship the Greek pantheon, which They belong to
☑️ I needed a rainy day, which falls under Zeus’ domain
☑️ I give a weekly offering to both, which means I have a small relationship built up
☑️ Hera, being a goddess of marriage, would likely be favorable to the request as it’s so I can support my partner
I lit a candle and offered Them some white wine when I made the request. I promised them a caramel apple if I got the rainy day; the next day when it rained, I made caramel apples and gave Them one with a prayer of thanks.
And that was that! Pretty straightforward and easy.
If the Goal is not Achieved
It happens. We don’t get everything we want, even if we ask the perfect deity and give the proper offerings and prayers. It really sucks, and it can hurt; why have the gods neglected us? Why won’t They help?
If your goal was not achieved, you can always ask the deity over divination. Be careful not to accuse or insult Them. Sometimes it’s out of Their hands (maybe another pagan petitioned their gods to give them the job), sometimes They don’t think it’s the best for us in the long-term. Or, maybe They wanted a different offering than the one you gave. They will have Their reasons, and you can always ask about them and go from there.
Asking deities for help shouldn’t be scary or intimidating. As my example showed, it’s actually pretty easy! Just remember the main tenets, to give offerings and rely on relationships; as long as you do that and speak kindly, you’ll be golden.
I tried to make this post comprehensive and beginner-friendly, but if anyone has questions, my inbox is always open!

Fuck yes! This is great news!
I can't tell you how excited and happy this makes me. Blood and platelet donation are really important and only a fraction of eligible donors do it. The policy WAS discriminatory (no thanks for the hedging, NYT), and although it was cut down from a lifetime ban to a year ban and then in 2020 down to three months, gay men who were eligible were still sometimes subjected to extra questioning essentially asking if they were telling the truth. Furthermore, because the policy was based around crude birth-assignment ideas of "men" and "women" I've heard stories form both binary and nonbinary trans people about blood bank staff treating them with hostility and suspicion. This is a massive step towards making sure that queer and trans donors get treated with dignity and respect.
I have talked on here about being a regular donor and my delicious AB+ blood but I may not have mentioned that, although I am a cis woman, I had a lifetime ban on donating for years because the policy covered not only men who have had sex with other men but also anyone else who had ever had a male partner that had ever had sex with another man. I actually go to the place I do because the place I initially asked at still adhered to the lifetime ban.
Donated blood and platelets are really important for treating cancer, blood disorders like sickle cell anemia, surgery, burns, childbirth, and more. If you don't know whether you're eligible to donate or if you were banned in the past, check! There have been a number of reforms to the guidelines in the last few years.

Ok ok I want you to think about swap terukane so like clock keeper Teru x exorcist Akane. And also like Akanes the super super popular school president. Yea so like thoughts/headcanons?? (I always cook up the most insane ideas in the middle of the night and I actually remember this one vaguely!)
Let’s talk about the Terukane swap au!! I’ve seen a few people write and draw for this but I’ve never rly read any of the fics or looked too much into it so I’m entirely making this shit up on my own, Ik this is a popular trope so I apologize if I miss any of the sub tropes that are included with it ;-;
It’s hard for me to separate Teru or Kou from exorcism since the Minamotos were a real life clan, but I don’t think I’d go about this in the “Akane is a Minamoto and Teru is an Aoi” way. I suppose for this au it’s most reasonable to say the Minamotos are a regular family and the Aois are the exorcist clan. That provides another fun question tho, are the Akane girls still kannagi?? Since this is strictly a Terukane swap au I’ll assume they are, though if we wanted to take it further we could swap Aoi with Nene or one of the other characters. It’s easier for me to follow strict guidelines tho so I’m gonna keep it at just Terukane being swapped
That alone changes so much of the story tho, it’s very interesting to me. We’ll say the Minamotos are still a strict/traditional family, so there’s still some pressure on Teru and Kou. Just not to the extent that there is in canon. And assuming their mom still died in due to complications from childbirth, their dad would still be absent and Teru and Kou will still have to grow up too soon by raising Tiara. But things would be significantly easier on them since they’d be taking care of the family together. Teru would learn basic life skills like cooking, which would take a load off of Kou. Then since the work would be split, they’d both have more free time on their hands. If one of them wants to hang out with friends, the other can take over cooking and cleaning for the night. Tho that would lead to numerous sibling arguments, since Teru is the oldest he’d probably push Kou around a bit when they’re younger lol. He’d run that house like the military
I want to say Kou is the one the Clock Keepers threaten him with since Teru is so protective of him, but that wouldn’t rly work since they wouldn’t be at school together during Teru’s first year of junior high. As an oldest sibling, Teru is very protective by nature, so they might be able to choose any random student. Once they have him where they want him, they throw in some threats aimed at his siblings to secure their chances of making a contract. So Teru ends up going down the same self-sacrificial route we see in canon, he becomes a Clock Keeper so that no one else has to do it
Without any siblings, Akane is the soul beholder of the family legacy. Self-sacrifice isn’t even an option for him, he’s the only one who can succeed his parents so he must do it. Then there’s Aoi, his childhood best friend. If Akane were an exorcist and they grew up together, Aoi would find out about supernaturals way sooner. Maybe he tells her himself, because he can no longer carry the burden alone. And he knows she’s a kannagi, that something bad could happen to her someday if he doesn’t keep a close eye on her, so he has to watch her like a hawk. In this au there’s not as many secrets between them, so much is at stake so they have to be transparent with each other. Akane’s honesty inspires Aoi to be more honest with him as well. So the obsession between them, platonic or otherwise, is a lot more mutual. They developed sort of a trauma bond at an early age and now they have to look out for each other
Akane’s popularity comes from his natural inclination to help others. He’s such a kind person, even if he can be aggressive. And without him having to constantly chase Aoi, no one thinks he’s a weirdo. It’s a little odd that he’s so protective of his friend, but he’s so damn nice that everyone just shrugs it off as him being sweet. Teru though? Teru is the weirdo
His family is still strict but without the same expectations placed on him, there’s no need for him to try and excel at everything. No one cares if he’s the best student so he can do whatever he wants. And yeah, he’s pretty, but he’s also loud and annoying. He teases people and gets creepily sadistic at times. This ties into my audhd Minamotos headcanon, without the pressure he’s under in canon, Teru feels less of a need to mask. He still does it to some extent due to societal pressure and all but the only opinion he really cares about are those of his siblings, so he’s content to be himself. He makes a few friends this way too, he’s not exactly popular but the people who get him get him. I’m gonna make him friends with Nene in this au, she appreciates his realness
Because of Akane’s hatred for supernaturals, they don’t get along at first. Teru joins the Student Council to keep a better eye on everyone so he can do better at his job as a Clock Keeper. Kou attending Kamome and getting closer with supernaturals has a lot to do with it. When they first meet, Akane ties Teru up and tries to interrogate him but bcuz this is Less Traumatized Teru it goes way differently than he planned. Teru’s filter is nonexistent so when Akane tries to threaten him he’s just like “oh hello cute boy I like you very much.” But the thing is, Akane can’t tell if Teru is joking or not. He assumes he must be, because there’s no way a School Mystery feels things like love and crushes. Still, Teru is so painfully Just A Regular Dude that Akane is forced to see him differently. Cue the typical Terukane “relationship built on trust” shenanigans. Reluctant partners in crime and what not
I’m not gonna go as far as to say they have a Sakura and Natsuhiko type dynamic but it’s similar. The classic “are you flirting with me?” “have been for the past 10 years, thanks for noticing” meme. Think of it as all of Teru’s jokes about liking Aoi in canon if they were directly aimed at Akane instead. Then the “wait- do you have genuine feelings for Ao-chan?” scene becomes “do you have genuine feelings for me?” or “were you serious this whole time?” Their dynamic changes a lot after that. Akane starts flirting back, and instead of using Aoi to motivate Teru he uses himself. “Help me save her and I might take you up on that offer for a date.” And then they do go on a date, at the school festival right before everything turns to shit
Adding to that, in this au I imagine Aoi and Akane are the ones betrothed in the new timeline. This brings in conflict bcuz let’s say Akane used to have feelings for Aoi but those faded over time, it’s all platonic between them now as opposed to what we see in canon. So he has the opportunity to either be with the girl he used to love, the girl he’s been with all his life, his safety blanket…or go back to the boy who’s stolen his heart. Damn that was cheesy, I’m cooking here
Kako also becomes Teru’s father figure btw bcuz he needs one. And despite his dislike for supernaturals, Teru adores Mirai bcuz she reminds him of Tiara. Found family ftw
Thanks for the ask, I hadn’t thought much abt this au before but now I’ve gotten myself invested

Star Wars Legends Spotlight: The Birth of Jaina and Jacen Solo
In this last week of writer signups for the From a Legends Point of View fanfiction event, we’ll be celebrating Legends by highlighting some key events, characters, and moments from the Legends continuity.
Writers: Help us add to the story! Sign up through Sunday, June 2 to write for the From a Legends Point of View fanfiction event. Together, we’ll build a collection of Star Wars Legends fanfiction set during the time of the Original Trilogy. Use our Signup Form to pitch your story concepts (Signup Guidelines available here), and please encourage your favorite writers to participate!
Our latest Legends spotlight is the birth of Jaina and Jacen Solo, the twin children of Leia Organa and Han Solo, born in 9 ABY on Coruscant.
Why is this important?
The birth of Jaina and Jacen takes place at the beginning of Timothy Zahn’s novel The Last Command, the final book in the Thrawn trilogy, but even before birth Jaina and Jacen were central to the events of the trilogy, with evil Dark Jedi clone Joruus C’Boath and Grand Admiral Thrawn attempting to kidnap Leia while she was pregnant in order to gain control of the twins, and a kidnapping attempt not long after their birth that was thwarted by a still-morally-conflicted Mara Jade. Later on, they and their friends become the center of the Young Jedi Knights series and take on major roles in the Yuuzhan Vong conflict in the New Jedi Order series, particularly since the Vong have a thing about twins. While their ending is tragic (Jacen turning to the Dark Side was never going to end well), they remain important parts of connecting the Original Trilogy and even the Prequel Trilogy to the Legends continuity.
Jaina and Jacen’s birth also represents a type of hope for the galaxy — Leia learning to deal with her mixed feelings about the Skywalker genetic inheritance (as detailed in Tatooine Ghost), Han and Leia settling in to a happy domestic life together while still kicking ass for the galaxy, Luke eagerly awaiting his niece and nephew but also anticipating the next generation of Jedi he will help to lead and teach.
How does it happen?
The events leading up to the twins’ birth are fairly dramatic. Among other things, pregnant Leia goes to Kashyyyk with Chewbacca to hide out from Thrawn and ends up having to escape by hanging on to underside of a Wookiee while they climb through a series of trees; she’s begun to train with Luke and is able to stop her would-be Noghri kidnappers and then even gain them to her side, using her bloodline attachment to Vader, her smarts, and her diplomatic skills.
The birth itself is fairly humorous to people who have experienced childbirth — in the book, Leia is given a light box that she is supposed to focus on during labor to distract from the pain. In the comic version, we can see that Leia is flat on her back, which probably isn’t going to be super-helpful for delivering twins. Throughout the birth, Leia is reassuring her children in the Force, letting them know they are okay, as well as occasionally trading banter with Han.
(Also, the strange mid-birth thumbs-up from a medic who is almost fully covered and masked was too funny not to include.)
Once the twins are here, Leia and Han are both dealing with new parenthood and trying to thwart Thrawn’s plans at the same time, so we get a mix of sweet domestic scenes with battle scenes and Leia’s attempts at figuring out what’s going on with Delta Source, Thrawn, the cloning facility, and C’Boath.

So sorry if you’ve already talked about her and I just can’t find the post, but I would love to hear about BB!Sliverstream. I feel like the fandom and the books portray her as just generically loving and who’s whole life revolves around Graystripe and their tragic romance… But come on! She was breaking the code to meet him, she’s rebellious! She’s the daughter of Crookedstar! There’s so much potential there for a really fun character. But she ends up being nothing but dead warrior cats wife/mother number one
UNG
I've talked about her before but I'd have to go digging for it, so I'm just going to gush about her and everyone is gonna listen up. Because I love her. I love her so much. I love everything about her and her death and I think anyone who boils her down to just "a fridge wife" needs to read TPB again, and open their hearts and minds to the IMPACT that she had on the entire narrative
Because she DOESN'T just die to give Graystripe man pain. She hits EVERYONE, she drives the plot, she was a really well characterized cat and her death is heartwrenching!!!
First of all, I like the explicit fact that Graystripe and Fireheart are very young at the time. New warriors, almost immediately given apprentices.
In BB, I decided to make this one point where Bluestar bends the code to a disastrous result (in BB, you aren't supposed to have an apprentice until you're at least a year out). Graystripe should not have an apprentice when he's barely out of apprenticeship himself! Young people do dumb and wreckless things, question rules, they do what they want. And he ignores Brackenpaw to hang out with Silverstream.
And it's easy to see why! Silverstream's a self-assured, hostile popstar who is daughter of the leader and PRIDES herself in that. She has a great heart but will not follow rules she thinks are dumb, because she feels she is above consequence.
And she likes Graystripe because he's HONEST. He does what he pleases and if he takes an interest in you, it's genuine and flattering. He's funny! He's good humored and laid back! Fireheart is frustrated by this because he's responsible, anxious, and serious, but Graystripe CAN'T stay serious for that long.
He needs to live and relax. YES that makes him irresponsible and even avoidant-- and I like that a lot! But he loves with such raw devotion, never able to do what Clan Culture expects of him!
So NO WONDER these two ended up as cross clan mates. They're like peanut butter and jelly. Silverstream who feels above the rules and Graystripe who is loyal to people over clan. To them, the Code is a guideline
AND YOU KNOW WHAT?? THEYRE RIGHT!!!!
The code IS flawed!!! This IS a bad fucking rule! Their love IS stronger than this! The "Law of Loyalty" (my bb term for it) EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE SIMPLE TRUTH;
IF YOU LOVE CATS OF OTHER CLANS, AS FRIENDS, LOVERS, OR FAMILY, YOU SEE THAT THE DIVISONS ARE BULLSHIT
And that destroys the battle culture!! We SEE this in TPB, there are several times where cats will back off of fighting Fireheart because he's their fucking friend! He refuses to hurt Silverstream because she's his best friend's lover!!
And when she dies it's DEVASTATING. It wouldn't be the same if Graystripe's choices following her death were about choosing his lover over his home clan!
It's childbirth, as if she's being punished by StarClan for codebreaking! She wanted to deliver her children with her mate by her side, and had a horrible death on the rocks away from an experienced medcat. Cinderpelt blames herself for not being good enough to save her, destroying her confidence for several chapters until she can realize it was never her fault
And after this, Bluestar doesn't punish Graystripe... because she knows how awful it is to lose a mate from another Clan. Her death should be enough; in spite of the baying from the Tiger Clique for a harsher sentence.
Like... what frustrates me most about Silv is how the later books reduced her, for a period of time, into JUST a sweet nicey fridgewife that gives Graystripe permission to move on. She was fierce. She was assertive. She is the person who said, "If the law says my love is wrong, then it's the CODE that's incorrect!"
I wish she kept that ferocity in Graystripe's dreams and memories of her. A voice that would tell him that his heart has never lead him astray, even when others told him he was on the wrong path.
It was nice to see her return to some form with a spike of jealousy in TBC, and for as much as I hated Leopardstar's Honor, at LEAST it remembered she wasn't a sweet nicey waif.
So in BB I plan to change very little. BB!Silverstream was beloved by a lot of people, and people will fight for her name. Her death has a huge, negative impact on Graystripe and he never totally gets over her death, even while he's raising his new family. During TigerClan, her children are stripped of their names and slapped with cruel Dishonor Titles (Stormpaw to Graypaw, Featherpaw to Silverpaw), to remind them of how their birth killed their mother, and that their father is not here to pay for his crimes.
This infuriates her friends and family, and Deerfoot's rebels are joined by them in their guerilla opposition of TigerClan.

The Thila [Burkinese mythology; Lobi mythology]
At the dawn of time, the supreme deity Tangba You created the world. Tangba You fashioned the land, the seas, and then the humans to populate the world. But human men lusted after women and soon began fighting one another over the women, and the deity eventually grew tired of this. He was the creator god, after all, and we can assume he had better things to do than solve every petty issue among mortals. So he withdrew from the world of men, never again interfering with mortal affairs. Before leaving, however, Tangba You figured he should leave someone to guide and watch over humanity, so he created the Thila (singular: Thil): a group of semi-divine nature spirits.
This is the creation story of the Lobi people, who live in the north eastern parts of Côte d’Ivoire and south western Burkina Faso. They trace their roots back to Ghana.
The Thila play a very large role in traditional Lobi religion. These spirits are not really gods in the common sense of the word, but they are somewhat similar to the angels of Abrahamic religion (but note that they are sometimes described as ancestor spirits). They offer protection to the people, but also tell them how they should act. Though normally invisible to mortal eyes, these beings take on the form of an animal or a human in the rare event that they do appear before people.
Normally though, a Thil communicates solely through a ‘Thildar’, which is a human diviner in direct contact with the spirits (the societal role of these people can be likened to shamans of some native American traditions). As per the rules of their religion, a Thildar is always male, and usually there are only one or two of these diviners in a community. Each Thildar stands in contact with his own group of Thila spirits, with whom he can communicate during a divination. He then relays the will of the Thila, which includes guidelines and taboos pertaining to all kinds of subjects, including how the people should dress, have sex, hunt animals, etc. Sometimes the spirits demand to hold great feasts or festive events, and sometimes they forbid certain practises. One example is the village of Korhogo (near Gaoua): the people living here stopped sleeping on mats made from millet stem, because a Thil once forbade it. Also noteworthy is that Thila sometimes demand that the Thildar takes up a specific profession, like becoming a smith or a doctor.
This may sound strict to outsiders, but Thila are kind and benevolent spirits. They receive offerings during special occasions such as births and weddings, and bestow rain and childbirth on humanity. Should the people break the taboos that the Thila enforce, however, they can wreak havoc upon a community.
These spirits are believed to reside in special religious wooden sculptures called ‘Bateba’, which are usually housed in shrines dedicated to that specific Thil. This is important, because the act of placing a Bateba on a shrine greatly enhances its spirit’s ability to manifest in this world, allowing it to protect the people against evil (such as evil warlocks). If a Thil wants a shrine, it will tell this to a Thildar, along with specific instructions of where and how the shrine should be built. Within Burkina Faso, the Lobi are actually renowned for their woodworking skills, and as such the Bateba tend to be impressive works of art.
Finally, I want to mention that there are different kinds of Thila spirits, and the distinction is easily visible in their Bateba carvings. Some examples:
Bateba Phula are humanoid figures with a stiff standing pose. They house regular Thila.
Bateba Ti Puo house protective spirits that defend against evil; they feature raised arms.
A Thil Dorka houses a particularly powerful variant of Thila. It is a humanlike statuette with two heads, referencing the spirit’s ability to watch multiple locations at the same time.

I’m sure in this day and age there’s ways to make it easier, but I’d rather avoid the hassle altogether and make posting as stress-free as possible, that way I’ll still enjoy it and continue to want to do it. I want to avoid making writing and posting a chore, and you all don’t deserve to be seen as a chore. <3
Requests: Open until Nov. 30, 2024
I’ll update this and make an announcement if and when this status changes. Requests will be taken with creative liberties, though I will do my best to honor the original request/prompt.
For guidelines refer to do’s and do not’s above. Any requests that don’t adhere to the do not’s will be deleted.
Masterlist TBD
This post is subject to change at any time. I will keep it pinned and/or linked for ease of reference.

i honestly have trouble blaming people who meet all public health information with disbelief and conspiracy. like i get it. credible sources are pushed to the bottom of a profit-driven auto-generated content advertisement-algorithm search. public health emergencies are manufactured by warfare and policing -- preventable infectious disease and hunger and overdose and childbirth deaths are over-represented in sites of capitalist extraction. the gaza health ministry has been bombed out of their capacity to report death toll, and in the media's parlance doctors and patients arent doctors and patients but rather terrorists. in the us were literally not allowed to report covid deaths, and the cdc's guidelines kill people.
i think thats why we need to move from a case-by-case analysis of deception and misinformation to a platform that promotes individual health literacy and curiosity in a time where data is suppressed, unreported, or inaccessible.

🌟 requests page is now live!
hi pals! I have some new faces here, so I thought I'd whip up a little requests page with some general guidelines for requests, in case anyone is interested in sending any in :-) you can check it out here!
requests I take:
🎨 graphics (moodboards, headers for fics, whatever you’re in the mood for! sorry, I do not currently make gifs) 📓 one shots & drabbles
my requests are currently closed!
general guidelines:
I can’t promise I’ll deliver on every request. if something doesn’t speak to me, I’d hate to force it and make something neither of us are happy with!
I can’t guarantee any timelines for delivering on requests. if I think it might be a little bit of a wait, I’ll reach out to you to let you know I’ve seen it and plan to get to it in the future, so you aren’t left hanging 💗
my blog & fics are all 18+, so if you send a request (whether explicit or not), please have your age in your bio.
I don't accept requests that include anything from the list below
I am not the right writer for fics / requests containing the following subject matter.
there are lots of amazing writers who do write for these sorts of tropes / subjects, so don’t worry - if you poke around in tags, you’ll find someone, I’m sure!! if you see something on this list you love writing and reading, don’t worry - I don’t mean to yuck anyone's yums. this is just what I’m not comfortable writing personally 💗
I do not accept requests for:
dub con / non con
large age gaps (20+ year gaps and up)
dark!characters (I love heavy angst, but any big power imbalances, obsessive or abusive behavior, etc is not my specialty)
pregnancy and / or childbirth for readers (secondary characters is totally cool)
alpha / beta / omega
okay, that's all, love you! — freya xx

my decades challenge index
Sul sul!
I have begun two different Decades Challenges, one I played from 1890 to 1960 and the other I didn't make much progress in. In both of these, I realized that I'm too much of a control freak and needed to do more prep before committing to the challenge!
Thus, I've indexed all of my hard work below in case you, too, are looking to control everything like I am :) I will update as I find new mods and items that improve my gameplay
Last Update 7/6/2024
I am using a mix of various rules from different creators.
IllusoryThrall's Decade's Challenge (Hard Mode) for starting money, starting age, and MCCC settings*
MorbidGamer's spreadsheets, death rolls, and aging (I'll be using four sim days per year rather than IllusoryThrall's two sim days per year)
Finally, a mix of IllusoryThrall and cutecoffeegal's Decades Challenge Rules for each decade of active gameplay guidelines
some extra details - I highly recommend MorbidGamer's spreadsheets for keeping track of everything, you can find them linked in the Google Doc for the challenge; I am not starting in 1300, so I deleted all of the cells in my copy until 1890 - I'm making minor changes to IllusoryThrall's rules as far as their gameplay settings, but I am using their holidays - Likewise, I'm making some small changes to cutecoffeegal's standard rules for personal preference towards storytelling, so I might allow an heir to be a woman depending on the story I wish to tell
I have lots of experience with mods, but this challenge requires more tuning than I'm used to. I've tried to lay everything out here for you! If you need it, here's a quick tutorial on how to put mods and custom content in your game
CORE MODS
deaderpool's MC Command Center : I used IllusoryThrall's MCCC Settings for gameplay, you'll need to adjust these settings through a computer on your lot; if you're going to have any mod, I would recommend this above all
roburky's Meaningful Stories : Adds depth to the experiences of my sims
Realistic Gameplay (alphabetized)
adeepindigo's Healthcare Redux : I love adeepindigo's mods, they integrate so well with the game; I'm only using Healthcare Redux for now to simulate realistic sickness and medical care
BrazenLotus's Harvest & Gather, Crafting, and Food & Drink : Another great mod that allows you to farm, craft, preserve, and cook in a more period-appropriate way; it took me a while to get this working how I wanted, but it's so worth it
chingyu's 100 Base Game Traits : The lack of traits in Sims 4 is one of my biggest complaints, so I broke the rules of the challenge a bit to give my sims more interesting, life-impacting traits while keeping close to the decade
ClaudiaSharon's No Autonomous Anything : So my sims stop taking selfies and texting people in 1890
ClaudiaSharon's No Festival Notifications : So I'm not pestered with festivals I can't attend yet
Frankk's Language Barriers : More realism to sims being from different worlds; !!be sure to follow his download instructions very carefully!!
Kuttoe's Enlist in War : For war realism
Kuttoe's Home Regions : To simulate contact only between sims in one world before common travel
Littlbowbub's Ye Olde Cookbook Kit : A great mod that lets you forage, hunt, and cook meals with new oven animations, lifesaving if you're playing with Simple Living
Lumpinou's Mood Pack : This is a required mod for a number of other mods to work that give custom moods and moodlets to your sims; I use it for chingyu's Base Game Traits
LittleMsSam's Auto-Employees : A lot trait you can use to populate vendor stalls on lots you create, a HUGE lifesaver for my Simple Living sims
maplebell More CAS Traits : serves the same purpose as chingyu's mod!
MizoreYukii's Children/Toddlers Can Die of Anything : For realism and death roll compliance
MizoreYukii's Remove Hats Indoors : An item that allows you to set hat and glove rules inside, functions like the shoe sign from Snowy Escape
Pandasama's Childbirth Mod : For realism in childbirth
RVSN's ISO LovePhotos Camera : I use this to take portraits in-game
SimplyAnjuta's No Makeup/Accessories on Randomized Sims : Keeps my townies from looking deranged
SimRealist's Mortem, Sim National Bank, Financial Center ,and Private Practice: I use these mods for realism in dealing with money and sim death as well as building a functioning bank/clinic, it takes some finagling to hide the required computers in the venue, but I really appreciate the structure it gives my game
TURBODRIVER's Wonderful Whims : For realism in relationships, woohooing, and menstruation
The Peridot Project's Shorter University Mod [4 credits] : I use this mod to remain true to the timing of the challenge; 4 credits/2 weeks simulates four years in-game
Triplis's Quit or Join School : In case I need my teens to quit school
Overrides !!I recommend keeping your overrides separate from mods in your game folder!!

By Hawon Jung
After trying for over a year to persuade more South Korean women to have babies, Chung Hyun-back says one reason stands out for her failure: “Our patriarchal culture.” Ms. Chung, who was tasked by the previous government with reversing the country’s plummeting birthrate, knows firsthand how tough it is to be a woman in South Korea. She chose her career over nuptials and children. Like her, millions of young women have been collectively spurning motherhood in a so-called birth strike.
A 2022 survey found that more women than men — 65 percent versus 48 percent — don’t want children. They’re doubling down by avoiding matrimony (and its conventional pressures) altogether. The other term in South Korea for birth strike is “marriage strike.”
The trend is killing South Korea. For three years in a row, the country has recorded the lowest fertility rate in the world, with women of reproductive age having fewer than one child on average. It reached the “dead cross,” when deaths outnumbered births, in 2020, nearly a decade earlier than expected.
Chung Hyun-back, who was South Korea’s gender equality minister in 2017-18, tried unsuccessfully to raise the country’s plunging fertility rate. Among the obstacles she says are to blame is the country’s “patriatchal culture."
Now, about half of the country’s 228 cities, counties and districts risk losing so many residents they might vanish. Day care centers and kindergartens are being converted into nursing homes. Ob-Gyn clinics are closing, and funeral parlors are opening. At Seoksan Elementary School, in rural Gunwi County, the student body has shrunk from 700 pupils to four. When last I visited, the children couldn’t even form a soccer team.
Young Koreans have well-documented reasons not to start a family, including the staggering costs of raising children, unaffordable homes, lousy job prospects and soul-crushing work hours. But women in particular are fed up with this traditionalist society’s impossible expectations of mothers. So they’re quitting.
President Yoon Suk-yeol, elected last year, has suggested feminism is to blame for blocking “healthy relationships” between men and women. But he’s got it backward — gender equality is the solution to falling birthrates. Many of the Korean women shunning dating, marriage and childbirth are sick of pervasive sexism and furious about a culture of violent chauvinism. Their refusal to be “baby-making machines,” according to protest banners I’ve seen, is retaliation. “The birth strike is women’s revenge on a society that puts impossible burdens on us and doesn’t respect us,” says Jiny Kim, 30, a Seoul office worker who’s intent on remaining childless.
Making life fairer and safer for women would work wonders toward reducing the country’s existential threat. Yet this feminist dream seems increasingly far-fetched, as Mr. Yoon’s conservative government champions regressive policies that only magnify the problem.
South Korea’s demographic crisis was once inconceivable: As late as the 1960s, women had six children on average. But the state, pursuing economic development, carried out an aggressive population control campaign. In about 20 years, women were having fewer than the 2.1 children needed for replenishment, a number that’s only continued to drop. The latest available data from South Korea’s statistics agency put the fertility rate at 0.81 for 2021; by the third quarter of 2022 it was 0.79.
Recent governments have indeed been alarmed by a rate that’s seemingly approaching zero. Over 16 years, 280 trillion won ($210 billion) has been poured into programs encouraging procreation, such as a monthly allowance for parents of newborns.
Many women still say nope. No wonder. There’s little escaping suffocating gender norms, whether in pregnancy guidelines to arrange clean undergarments for your husband before labor, or the dayslong kitchen drudgework for holidays like the Chuseok harvest festival. Married women are saddled with the lion’s share of chores and child care, squeezing new mothers so much that many give up professional ambitions. Even in dual-income households, wives daily spend more than three hours on these tasks versus their husband’s 54 minutes.
Discrimination against working mothers by employers is also absurdly common. In one notorious case, the country’s top baby formula maker was accused of pressuring female employees to quit after getting pregnant.
And gender-based violence is “shockingly widespread,” according to Human Rights Watch. In 2021, a woman was murdered or targeted for murder every 1.4 days or less, according to the Korea Women’s Hotline. Women have dubbed the act of ending a relationship without getting a vicious reaction a “safe breakup.”
But women haven’t passively accepted the toxic masculinity. They’ve organized raucously, from Asia’s most successful #MeToo movement to groups like “4B,” which translates to the “Four nos: no dating, no sex, no marriage and no child-rearing.” The country’s feminist movements have won the decriminalization of abortion and harsher penalties for an epidemic of spycam-porn crimes.
Many young Korean men, however, have declared themselves victims of women’s activism. President Yoon rose to power last year by leveraging this resentment. He echoed the dog whistle of men’s rights advocates, declaring that structural sexism no longer exists in South Korea and vowing tougher punishment for false reports of sexual assault.
Mr. Yoon’s government is removing the term “gender equality” from school textbooks and has canceled funding for programs to fight everyday sexism. “If you find gender equality and feminism so important, you can do it with your own money and time,” said one lawmaker in his party.
The government is also working to dismantle its own headquarters for women’s empowerment — the gender equality ministry. Established in 2001, it’s been transformative in normalizing parental leave for fathers and helping more women achieve workplace seniority.
Comments by the gender equality minister under the Yoon administration illustrate its abandonment of women. In September, Kim Hyun-sook rejected the idea that misogyny was at play when a Seoul Metro worker stabbed a female colleague to death in a subway bathroom after stalking her for years. Ms. Kim also initially declared that the rape and killing of a college student on campus last June was not violence against women and shouldn’t be used to fan “gender conflict.”
So far, none of the measures implemented by successive governments have flipped the trends in marriage and childbearing. Worse yet, the current government seems to be actively undermining efforts that gave women hope. “This is a historical regression,” says Ms. Chung, who was the gender equality minister from 2017 to 2018. Society can’t end the birth strike without acknowledging women’s grievances, she says.
Motivating Korean women to reconsider marriage and children involves infusing every aspect of their lives with agency and equality. A feminist approach would remove obstacles to motherhood simply by enforcing existing laws against workplace discrimination. It would destigmatize births outside of marriage and make domestic duties everyone’s responsibility. It would condemn gender violence as reprehensible. A feminist approach would admit there’s a systemic problem.
It’s clear that countries with a disproportionate division of child care or lacking national paid parental leave, like Japan and the United States, also have plunging fertility rates. It’s the same with China, where women inspired by South Korea started their own “Four nos” movement; government data this month reveals its population is shrinking, too. But countries with cooperative fathers and good family policies, like Sweden, or that recognize diverse companionships, like France, have been more successful at stabilizing or even bumping up births.
The United Nations projects that South Korea’s 51 million population will halve before the end of the century. Survival of the nation is at stake.
Hawon Jung (@allyjung) is the author of the forthcoming “Flowers of Fire: The Inside Story of South Korea’s Feminist Movement and What It Means for Women’s Rights Worldwide,” and a former Agence France-Presse reporter in Seoul. She splits her time between South Korea and Germany.

Can I Exercise During Pregnancy?
Pregnancy is a transformative experience, often accompanied by a myriad of questions about health and well-being. One common query among expectant mothers is, "Can I exercise during pregnancy?" The short answer is yes, but with some important considerations. Exercising during pregnancy can offer numerous benefits for both the mother and the baby, provided it is done safely and under medical guidance. In this blog, we'll explore the advantages of prenatal exercise and provide tips for staying active, with insights from the experts at the best fertility clinic in Delhi, SCI IVF Hospital.
Benefits of Exercising During Pregnancy
Engaging in regular physical activity during pregnancy can lead to numerous health benefits, including:
Improved Mood and Energy Levels: Exercise can help alleviate common pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue and mood swings by boosting endorphin levels.
Better Sleep: Regular physical activity can improve sleep patterns, helping expectant mothers get the rest they need.
Reduced Pregnancy Discomfort: Exercise can help alleviate back pain, swelling, and constipation, which are common complaints during pregnancy.
Easier Labor and Delivery: Strengthening the body through exercise can lead to a smoother labor and delivery process.
Faster Postpartum Recovery: Women who exercise during pregnancy often experience quicker recovery post-birth.
Safe Exercise Practices
While exercise is beneficial, it is essential to approach it with caution during pregnancy. Here are some tips from the best IVF doctor in Delhi to ensure safe prenatal workouts:
Consult Your Healthcare Provider: Before starting any exercise regimen, it's crucial to get the green light from your healthcare provider, especially if you have any pregnancy complications.
Choose Low-Impact Activities: Opt for low-impact exercises such as walking, swimming, prenatal yoga, and stationary cycling. These activities are gentle on the joints and reduce the risk of injury.
Stay Hydrated and Avoid Overheating: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after exercise. Avoid exercising in hot, humid conditions to prevent overheating.
Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body feels during exercise. If you experience dizziness, shortness of breath, or any unusual symptoms, stop immediately and consult your doctor.
Modify as Needed: As your pregnancy progresses, you may need to modify your exercise routine. Avoid activities that involve lying flat on your back after the first trimester and exercises that pose a risk of falling or abdominal trauma.
Exercise Recommendations
The experts at SCI IVF Hospital suggest incorporating the following types of exercise into your routine:
Aerobic Exercise: Activities like walking, swimming, and dancing can help maintain cardiovascular fitness without putting too much strain on your body.
Strength Training: Light resistance training with weights or resistance bands can help maintain muscle tone. Focus on exercises that target major muscle groups.
Flexibility and Balance: Prenatal yoga and stretching exercises can improve flexibility and balance, which are beneficial as your center of gravity shifts.
Pelvic Floor Exercises: Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles through Kegel exercises can help prevent urinary incontinence and prepare the body for childbirth.
