i had a dream last night that i organized a tumblr meetup and we all agreed to go to a local bar together. so i go to the bar but it was a really busy night and i didn't want to ask every stranger "are u here for tumblr reasons" bc that's embarrassing and i'm shy. so i just got a drink and felt very awkward & hoped someone would approach me. tried to look inviting and like i was from tumblr but not like i was "from tumblr". when i left some girl stopped me to ask if i was there for the meetup but i was too shy and asked what's tumblr?

in the dream i went home to make a post about how nobody showed up to the tumblr meetup but my entire dash was people saying they'd gone to the bar but were too fucking shy to admit to being on tumblr so we'd all just had a drink and gone home

His life’s always been pretty centered around work and has become even moreso now that his wife left and everyone is independent, and due to past events he’s very iffy with bonding with coworkers. He thinks feelings and job are a disaster mix. Like with his wife or with parties hiring him as sacrifice, being open or having good faith is vulnerability which can get you hurt, so he processes and shows all his stress as anger instead of worry. Doing strict dieting probably isn’t helping the irritability what with hunger, and on top of being a hunger suppressant alcohol might be the main stress reliever he has.

Had some people over for lunch last week and I had told them about my bakery woes so they all came with a baguette, half as a gesture of support, half to remind me that I'm a loser who doesn't know what a baguette is. There was way too much baguette so I ended up making pain perdu—of sorts, I didn't slice it and toast it, just put all the ingredients in a cake pan along with some apples because I also have too many apples at the moment.

It tastes good but the texture of a baguette-based cake is too dense, I should have gone for the traditional French toast method. I thought it was going to be one of those eureka moments when you tweak a recipe out of laziness and you end up with something new and even better but no, it was one of those humbling moments when your recipe notebook is judging you from the shelf like I could have told you that, but you didn't ask

Mum preferred her noodles so we are back in Sembawang Shopping Centre to eat at XO Minced Meat Noodle (XO 肉脞麵). From the menu, she chose the S$5 bowl of Chicken Cutlet Noodle (炸鸡扒面) topped with a piece of crispy boneless chicken cutlet and thin yellow noodles tossed in savoury brown sauce.

I took the small portion (S$6) Scallop Minced Meat Noodle (鲜贝肉脞面) which comes with plenty of toppings from scallops, crispy dumpling, pork ball, fish ball, mushroom, fishcake slices, minced pork and lots of crunchy tempura bits. For my noodles, I picked the thin yellow noodles tossed in the same savoury brown sauce and with chilli paste added. Though it came with a bowl of soup, still I ordered a cup of teh siu dai or milk tea less sweet to complete the meal.

i think the best part about meursault's food diss critique is that for yi sang's turn, he actually dropped so many puns with yi sang's name in his rant yet he is still absolutely brutal and straight to the point, without losing his monotonous delivery

and yi sang kinda just,,, has to take it bc he must have been both impressed that meur managed to use so many homophones of his name in his rant yet those words must have definitely stung

The girls are finally ready! Grace the Golden Sebright is completely hand made.

I cut the vague shape of a chicken out of clay with a craft knife, wait 24 hours for them to dry, then sand them down to smooth the surfaces. After that, a layer of gesso to make the paint sit nicely. Then comes the actual painting using acrylics.

Once that’s completely dry, a few layers of UV resin on each side to protect the clay. Curing the resin is pretty time consuming with no freaking SUN lmao.

Finally, I attached split rings to the hooks for extra security and put the whole thing together. 🌈
