i think i need to stop going to gay bars their djs and music selection suck so bad >80% of the time. <-this is because of white people. went to a straight bar sunday night and the dj was okay but the music selection was latino and black which is exactly what my friend group and my body needs. there’s also a straight bar on brady that plays house music and has good djs but unfortunately there are barely any poc there ;(

It’s hard not to feel jealous of others success when you try so fucking hard.
This is going to sound super bitchy and ungrateful and im sorry.
It’s a long shot but if you read this, just please interact with the post or take a listen and let me know you’re honest opinion.
Being in a band is hard and the idea of success has changed so much. I love playing music and I love playing in a band and we’ve been working at it for years hearing the same shit over and over.
“Y’all are good. Y’all are going to go places”
But sometimes it feels hopeless and I feel stuck and that none of my peers in the Chicago music scene take us seriously. Social media has ruined the music industry and its getting harder and harder to get people to care or give you a few seconds of their time. It starts to wear on the mental health if im honest. I just want to connect with people.
I put my heart and soul into this band and I just want people to listen and connect with the music.
