Hello, I'm too embarrassed to put this on my own blog, but I had a ship name thought that I wanted to share - "Chencan" for Gabe and Ryan! I've been kinda shipping them lately and the fandom has yet to work out a name for them (it's been like 10 days since the game's release :P ). Since "Luchen" is claimed for Alex/Ryan, I thought "Chencan" would work for Gabe/Ryan. It's the opposite of A/R's name, but with the last half of Ryan's surname. Thoughts? Yay? Nay?

Aw no don't be embarrassed! Tbh I've been calling them "Luchen, but gay" LMAO. I think Chencan is great!

I had a thought about it and thought I'd share. So when I played the game, I went the Ryan route, right? So I ship Luchen. I ended up remembering it with your drawing and thought about the song Almost (Sweet Music) by Hozier.

Ryan becoming close with Alex (not even necessarily dating her) after Gabe's death, and remembering him through her similarities to him, and her taste in music.

Second, I haven't listened to a ton of Hozier, but I know he's got a lovely voice. So I went ahead and listened to that song and I can definitely see it with Ryan and Alex! Whether or not they date, they would undoubtedly have a close relationship. Of course, they share the trauma of losing Gabe, but continue their bond through their shared interests and just enjoying each other's company

I'm also imagining a scene where they're at the Black Lantern with friends or at some other get-together, and Alex is laughing at something and Ryan for a split second sees Gabe

Hmm. You know, that is a valid reason to call then Chenrich instead of Chengrich. I also love that not only is Alex bisexual, but that there are two equally-valid romance options. I might even do a Chencan playthrough to see how the story differs with her romancing Ryan, and maybe even one with her not romancing anyone to see if things change even more.

Mostly I like how the game is expanding to be a whole community. The sense of community was missed in LiS2, along with continuity with secondary characters. Add in that Deck Nine is working entirely with its own characters, and you have no real issues with how characters are depicted like part of what happened with Before the Storm.

So how you feeling about the trailer for LIS 3? I think it looks really cool and I'm excited to see how the new power system works

Oh my God I am sooooooo hype!!! It seems like they’ve taken all the things that were less enjoyable for me from previous games in the franchise (not spending enough time in a certain setting/with side cast in 2, the protagonist not being the one with the power, weird exploration restrictions in S1, the long wait times between episodes for all of them, etc.) and addressed them all with TC. Plus I’m so happy to see Steph again, she was my favorite part of BTS and I can’t wait to get to know her so much better in the (potential) deuteragonist role.

And I’d be lying if I said more WLW romance wasn’t something I’m incredibly excited about. I’m a simple girl and I like my sapphic ships and Steph and Alex are just so god damn gorgeous??!??! ^^;;

(Also can we all just agree on Chenrich as the ship name? It rolls off the tongue better, fits with other Steph related ships like Pricerich, and Chengrich makes it sound like Alex's last name is Cheng :P)

I’ve loved everything I’ve seen about this game so far and September can’t come fast enough IMO. <3

The BtS fandom turned toxic because D9 made a huge mistake in trying to toss Max under a bus (ie, make her unsympathetic by ghosting Chloe rather than having it be mutual). Thus the Amberprice fans felt justified in hating Max and wanting to emphasize Rachel over Max. Thus you get a ship war. This time... I'm just hoping that Ryan is cool enough that the Chengrich and Chencan ships get along nicely.

Imma be honest, I’m not all that excited for the new life is strange game. They fucked us over with the original with Pricefield, BTS was a joke, LIS2 was a whole other game that had nothing to do with LIS1????? And that captain spirit game has no correlation to LIS1 either. And not to mention the comics are a huge mess. I’m excited for the remaster bc it looks dope, so I might buy it when that comes out. But as far as True Colors goes, idk man. Dontnod and Deck Nine have let us down multiple times, I don’t trust them on this game yet.
