Chris' debate of how their origin story could've brought out a laugh from Chelsea's chest, lighthearted and airy. Genuine. After all the trouble she'd caused, to think that if she'd only talked to them... "Flowers in exchange for my card? You know it would've taken a lot more than that." Chelsea smirked at the thought, easily recalling when Chris had offered her anything she wanted in the world.

There's a moment where Chelsea looks directly into Chris' eyes, sincerity rare, though little by little making itself more present in her violet colored eyes. "...besides, I wouldn't have gotten to know you." The words fall softly, spilled from the heart, grateful of her choice back then to run from Chris rather than comply. "You're not so bad." She even dared to admit. Grateful that it had then led her to be there to help Finn save Chris. And all it had cost was a kiss that had changed everything.

Even that she wouldn't take back.

All the events that had transpired between them had led Chelsea to this moment too. With Chris, about to go on a mission together. Card retrieving just like how they'd met, but the specific mention of immortal brings about Chelsea's worry. She saw the wounds that hadn't healed right away scattered along Chris' body, covering every square inch. Chelsea wished to never let that happen again. "Or, you could just admit there's the possibility we retrieve it together." Chelsea says smugly then, happy to leave it at that and desperate to push the thought out of her mind. Tonight she'd prove it. And again, and again if Chris needed her to.

She could help.

No matter what sort of romantic setting the mission would be. Including this one, where Chelsea felt Chris' gaze trail up and down her frame as she twirled, finally stopping in tandem with her heart when Chris finally spoke. You look gorgeous. Words Chelsea had heard offered before, just as Chris surely heard often how handsome he was. But there was a shift, and that signature air about him wasn't there, the octave of his voice hadn't elevated to indicate a lie or teasing or playful. Why did it suddenly make her more nervous to feel the energy that had been there in the split seconds Chris had pulled her into him and kissed her? Had it only been that short amount of time since? So fresh in her memory.

And to think about it right now of all times--

"T-thank you," Having finally found her voice, Chelsea almost couldn't understand what Chris asked next simply out of surprise. A gesture so simple, so endearing, she wasn't sure she'd ever actually been asked. All Chelsea can manage is a soft nod, and a hummed yes of confirmation. Usually one with so much to argue and banter back with, Chelsea quieted, breath held from Chris' close proximity, hoping he didn't hear her heartbeat as audibly as she did.

It was, wasn't it? He noticed her gaze soften and wanted to believe that she actually liked the thought of them ending up together. Such a selfish thought.

When she mentioned their story of meeting, he vividly remembered the persistent chasing of her, mainly because he didn't want High Card to know about Michelle. It's only been a short time, but it felt like an eternity to him. Had it only been last week or the week before when he had kissed Chelsea? His heart beat faster. Best not think about it. It didn't mean anything - at least, that was what he was trying to convince himself of.

It did bother him how she described their meeting and he couldn't help but retort, "If a certain someone hadn't used their power to inconvience perfectly fine gentlemen, the outcome could've ended in some lovely flowers for the poor, innocent lady and a job well done for the rest." He didn't want to think about how she had played a crucial role in his secret endeavor, all because he got to know her better, through the chasing, through the time spent with his sister... almost as if he... did come to trust her.

When she agreed to his other suggestion of using her as a distraction, he felt a bit disappointed that she would do so gladly. He almost regretted suggesting it, when he saw her huff, but found it oddly cute. Genuine reactions of Chelsea, he wanted more of that.

He chuckled when she proposed using him as a bait. The chuckle died quickly when he heard that High Card would hire her on the spot and he hid his too real worry with sass. "Oh, you can certainly try, honey. Mmh~ You're certainly right in that they would be even more delighted to converse with such a charming young hard working employee." He gracefully pointed at him. "But how about you leave the card retrieving to the immortal ladies' man~"

Chris smiled, when she stated that the dress was perfect and they made the way to the changing rooms. He nodded approvingly when she made a sensible addition to the outfit as they went and he was certain that she would look great in it.

But when she stepped out, his expectations were exceeded by far. At first, he didn't get a word out, too taken in by her beauty and she took the time to twirl around slowly. He noticed her rosy cheeks and found her even more beautiful in that moment.

"You look gorgeous," he answered with a soft voice.

He came closer to her and asked, "May I?" and indicated that he would help her untie her hair.

He would also need to get dress quickly so they could make their way to the party soon, but he couldn't resist staying close to her... for now.

Welcome to whirling Wednesday! I say that because it seems to whirl right by. It can feel like spinning for hours on end and then suddenly the spinning stops and everything is a blur until refocusing. Unless, of course one spots, then the dizziness is held to a fix. Always remember to spot. My spot today was looking towards my phone call with my brother tonight. In this sense, I consider spotting to be something to look forward to at the end of the packed day. It keeps me focused instead of spinning in many different directions and losing track or motivation.

I need to sleep.

Tasks Completed:

Geometry - Learned how to find areas of triangles and quadrilaterals + practice finding areas of parallelograms, triangles, and trapezoids on KA + practice finding perimeters and areas of rhombuses and kites

Lit and Comp II - Reviewed units 4-6 vocabulary + read chapters 1-2 of Emma by Jane Austen + read about content issues in discussion notes + worked on my biography writing assignment

Spanish 2 - Reviewed vocabulary + read my speech out loud to my dad

Bible I - Read Deuteronomy 13-14

World History - Added to my timeline + took three quizzes on the American Revolution (not for a grade) + looked over key terms for the new unit + read the introduction to the Industrial Revolution, Nationalism, and Imperialism in the 19th Century + watched 15 minutes of episode 1 of Victorian Farm on YT (I saved the playlist and I might watch the rest of it when I have time. It looks good)

Biology with Lab - Completed cats genetics lab + reviewed vocabulary notes

Foundations - Read the definition of obedience + completed Lumosity daily brain workout + watched a video on using openers in public speaking + watched a video on the presentations by Steve Jobs + wrote the opener and closers for my speech

Piano - Practiced for one hour

Khan Academy - None today (It was already assigned)

CLEP - Completed Module 6 reading "Age of Revolutions" 10.1-10.3.4 + watched the Module 6 introduction video 6.0

Duolingo - Completed at least one lesson each in Spanish, French, and Chinese

Reading - Read pages 8-43 of They're Watching You by Chelsea Ichaso
