Edwin Payne is Brown
Listening to
Me and the Man in the Moon by Frank Salvano & Ambassadors, Bye Bye Blackbird by George Olsen and His Music, Honey Boy by Billy Murray (Bonus: Charley My Boy by Eddie Cantor)
I deliberated on the music for a long time, but as someone that relates to Edwin I could not resist finding some tunes from his era that I think fit him (okay perhaps slightly later for some, sue me it’s hard finding music media from before the twenties since so much has been lost). I’ve tried to pick different music for each character that I truly thought represented them. I know it can get repetitive seeing the same songs on every character playlist so I wanted to shake it up with the far reaches of my own music taste.

About Me:
Name: Parker
Pronouns: they / them
Age: 26 years around the sun
Time Zone: West Coast (US)
Won’t Do: R.pe, d.ugs, in.est, swearing, anyone under 18.. sorry so be 20+, no Discord or anywhere else just on Tumblr sorry!
Will Do: Third POV, write maybe 3-5 sentences. (With swearing I’ll read and write it like ‘son of a b ch’ if needed but you can doesn’t bother me.), probably a thousand percent be down for lgbtq+ plots. Love au or canon or even something in middle of both.
Ao3: bluegreen_118
Example: Dean was watching a movie about cowboys.. again. Hearing the doorbell he drank some beer before setting it by his remote. Running to the door he opened it and gasped at the blue eyed man with the pizza box. The guy’s name tag read Castiel and Dean looked back at the man taking the pizza boxes. “Thanks.” Dean said out loud but in his head he said ‘son of b ch he’s hot.’
I bolded who I prefer to be but we can figure out if you want to be them instead.
Supernatural: Dean and Castiel, Jody and Donna, Sam and Gabriel

9–1–1: Buck and Eddie, Tyler Kennedy and Carlos, Hen and Karen, Judd and Grace, Josh and Ravi

Shameless: Ian and Mickey

Good Omens: Arizaphale and Crowley

The Last of US: Bill and Frank

Our Flag Means Death: Stede and Eddie, Jim and Oluwande, Lucius and Black Pete

A League of Their Own: Bertie and Gracie, Greta and Carson, Jess and Lupe

Red, White & Royal Blue: Alex Claremont Diaz and Henry Fox Mountchristen
Teen Wolf: Stiles and Derek

House of the Dragon: Rhaenyra and Alicent

Umbrella Academy: Klaus and Dave

Dead Boy Detectives: Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland

Sooo yeah that’s all I can think of top of my head. Will add more to this list as I can think of them.
Thanks for reading and if this all sounds interesting message me. Be happy to start a journey of story telling. Also heads up sorry if I vanish sometimes. Promise I’m not ghost just you know life happens? I’ll get on promise but heads up life does get in the way too. Can’t always be fictional gotta be real world too (bleh I know but eh haha.)

STOP BEING MAD AT BEYONCE FOR NOT THROWING HER BLACK ANCESTORS IN THE TRASH:
Black people stop throwing your black culture away: & see the value in your black culture. Know your black history: & BLACKS BEING COMPLETELY ERASED OUT OF THE BLACK COUNTRY MUSIC YOUR ANCESTORS INVENTED: BY WHITES: WHO WHITE WASHED YOUR BLACK COUNTRY MUSIC SO BAD: THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVE WHITES INVENTED COUNTRY MUSIC & CULTURE & BLACKS NEVER HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT & CAN NOT BE COUNTRY BECAUSE WE HAVE BLACK SKIN: THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN: IF BLACKS STOP THROWING OUR BLACKNESS IN THE TRASH FOR OTHER RACES TO CULTURALLY APPPROPIATE & SEE THE VALUE IN YOUR ANCESTORS THAT YOU DON'T SEE. BLACK PEOPLE CREATED MORE THAN HIP HOP RAP MUSIC. WAKE UP!
I had a white lady try & tell me Spain invented the guitar. What she meant to say was BLACK MOORS FROM NORTH AFRICA BROUGHT THE GUITAR TO SPAIN & PORTUGAL IN THE 1500 CENTURY: BUT I GUITAR LIKE INSTRUMENT EXISTED IN AFRICA SINCE THE EMPIRE OF CUSH FROM 600 BC TO 350 AD TO PRESENT DAY. ANOTHER EFFORT AT CULTURAL APPROPIATION & FORGETING THE BLACK ROOTS OF THE GUITAR. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. BLACK PEOPLE DO YOUR RESEARCH DON'T LET NO ONE STEAL CULTURE. IGNORANT BLACKS HAVE EVEN SAID Beyoncé IS TRYING TO MAKE WHITE MUSIC: BECAUSE SOME IGNORANT BLACK PEOPLE DON'T KNOW BLACK PEOPLE INVENTED COUNTRY MUSIC & BROUGHT COUNTRY MUSIC TO THE USA AS SLAVES ALONG WITH THE BANJO, GUITAR, & DRUMS. WE BLACKS INVENT JAZZ THROW IT AWAY LET WHITE FOLKS HAVE IT. BLACKS INVENT BLUES THROW IT AWAY & LET WHITE FOLKS HAVE IT. BLACK FOLKS INVENT COUNTRY MUSIC THROW IT AWAY & LET WHITE FOLKS HAVE IT. BLACK FOLKS LIKE JIMI HENDRIX, CHUCK BERRY, FATS DOMINO, TINA TURNER HELPED INVENT ROCK & ROLL & WE THROW IT AWAY & LET WHITE FOLKS HAVE IT. ALOT OF IGNORANT BLACKS TRULY BELIEVE RAP & HIP HOP IS THE ONLY GENRE OF MUSIC BLACKS INVENTED OR CONTRIBUTED TO. MINISTER FARAKAHN SAID IT BEST: WHEN IGNORANT BLACK PEOPLE GOT MAD AT RACHEL DOLEZAL FOR CULTURALLY APPROPIATING BLACK CULTURE "DON'T GET MAD AT RACHEL DOLEZAL FOR FINDING VALUE IN BLACK CULTURE: WHILE YALL ARE BUSY BLEACHING YOUR SKIN & THROWING YOUR BLACK CULTURE & BLACKNESS AWAY!"
My mom's side of the family came from Mississippi & moved to Saint Louis, Missouri. My dad side of the family also came from Mississippi & moved to Saint Louis, Missouri: so I grew up with Blackfoot Indian on both sides of my family & black country on both sides of my family. I grew up on country music Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson: but I also grew up with Charley Pride, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, LaMelle Prince, Linda Martell, The Pointer Sisters, Tina Turner, Ruby Falls, Deford Bailey, Rufus Teetot Payne, Lesley Riddle. Later on I liked other Black country artist like Rissi Palmer, Mickey Guyton, Darius Rucker, Kane Brown, & yes even Beyoncé. Black people helped invent country music & cowboy culture. The black slaves that herded cattle would wear cowboy hats, cowboy boots, chaps, & jeans: & were called cowboys by the slavemasters & the term cowboy was originally meant as an insult to the black men who were slaves & herded cattle. It didn't become a compliment until white people culturally appropiated country music & cowboy culture & attire from Black people. I am tired of white people stealing country culture & country music from Black people & then thinking the black people they stole country music & country culture from are not country: because our skin is not white. We do not mind sharing country culture, country music, & cowboy attire & cowboy culture with anyone: but don't turn around & tell the very black people you stole everything from we are not country: because we do not have white skin. THAT WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED OR TOLERATED: & BEYONCE IS LEADING THE MOVEMENT. RACIST BULLIES HATE HER FOR THAT: BUT I AND 313,000,000 people of all races, sexes, & orientations love her dearly for thar. THE HATE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED HATERS WILL BE BLOCKED, DELETED, & IGNORED. RACIST, BULLY, HATERS CAN KICK ROCKS.
DOLLY Parton, Wynonna Judd, Patsy Cline, Trisha Yearwood, Shania Twain, LORETTA LYNN, LAINEY WILSON, Megan Moroney, Miranda Lambert, Tanya Tucker, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood: are all country artist that I love: but none of them can sing almost 4 octaves like Queen Bey Beyonce: I am not a professional singer for a living: but like Beyonce I can also sing almost 4 octaves: I can sing bass, baritone, tenor, contratenor, contralto, alto, & 8 Soprano notes: it took me over 20 years to reach 8 soprano notes: because I have a very low singing voice. For many years I could only sing 5 soprano notes: but after taking voice lessons most of my life: I made it to 7 soprano notes. I staye at 7 soprano notes: until I minored in opera: & two years of training finally got me the 8th soprano note: that eluded me my whole life. I love my lower voice registry: but I do like soprano voices too: so I worked really hard to sing those soprano notes for kareoke purposes over the years. This was the reason I took opera in college to learn how to sing higher notes: it was very, hard work: so I can respect Beyonce's God Given talent: because she naturally can sing almost 4 octaves: she did not have to work at it for over 30 years like I did & minor in opera in college. Beyonce's half time show was the f*cking best I ever seen. She honors her black ancestors: who helped invent country music. There has been racism against black women in country music for years. If you got anything negative to say about BEYONCE OR ANY BLACK WOMAN IN COUNTRY MUSIC PLEASE BLOCK ME: BECAUSE I WILL DEFINITELY BLOCK YOU & DELETE YOUR COMMENTS FROM MY PAGE. I AM NOT STANDING FOR NO MORE RACISM & BULLYING OF BLACK FEMALE COUNTRY ARTIST. RACISTS BULLIES AGAINST BLACK WOMEN IN COUNTRY MUSIC WILL NOT BE GIVEN A VOICE OR PLATFORM ON MY PAGE EVER AGAIN! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I DON'T LIKE RACIST BULLIES AT ALL.
African guitar like instruments existed in the empire of Cush (c.600 BC - c.350 AD) & had guitar like strings, also the banjo & the drums are also African Instruments too. Moors brought guitar like intruments to Portugal & Spain around the 15 century.
Moors were people of color who lived in North Africa. The black Moors of North Africa brought the guitar to Spain & Portugal during their occupation of Al-Andalus from 711-1492:
The Black Moors brought the al'ud, an 11-stringed, pear-shaped, fretless instrument that evolved into the Spanish guitar. The Black Moors al'ud is thought to be the direct ancestor of the modern guitar.
The Moorish guitar is also known as the Guitarra Morisca, which means "Moorish guitar". It had multiple soundholes, an oval body, a wide neck, & crescent-shaped headstock.
By the 14th century, the Guitarra Morisca was called a guitar. The guitar, along with other instruments, helped shape the development of Spanish classical music & flamenco & helped to form the foundation of Modern Spanish Music Styles.
The most significant Moorish musician was known as Ziryab (the Blackbird) who arrived in Spain in 822. The Moors introduced earliest versions of several instruments, including the Lute or el oud, the guitar or kithara & the Lyre. Current racist narrative is that Spain invented the guitar in the 15 century. The reality is black Moors from Northern Africa brought the guitar to Spain around that time. Guitar like instruments existed in Africa since 600 bc to 350 AD.

Country music was founded & rooted in the Black community. Racist Minstrel shows renamed the country music black people created as “hillbilly music:" which whites appropiated the country music that black people created even though country music can't even be played without the African instruments of the guitar, banjo, & drums. Country music was brazenly & blatantly stolen from African American Culture, hymns, & African American Slave, field songs.
The term cowboy was a name originally given to black slaves: who herded cattle & would wear cowboy hats, jeans, boots, & attire as they herded cattle for slave masters. Black slaves invented country music: & BROUGHT COUNTRY MUSIC TO THE USA VIA SLAVERY. Black people invented country music, banjo, drums, & guitar. Lesley Riddle was a black man: that wrote & created many songs with the Carter Family. Do not be so worried about people being "WOKE" THAT YOU FALL ASLEEP. GOD SAID "DO NOT COVET ANOTHER PERSON'S SPOUSE." GOD DID NOT SAY "PLEASE DO NOT COVET ANOTHER PERSON SPOUSE: BUT IF YOU DO HAPPE. TO SLEEP WITH A PORN STAR LIKE STORMY DANIELS: WHILE YOUR WIFE IS IN THE HOSPITAL GIVING BIRTH: BECAUSE YOU HAPPEN TO BE A SERIAL CHEATER: WHO NEVER PLANS TO BECOME A NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST. YOU INSTEAD PLAN TO BLASPHEME: HOLY SPIRIT, JESUS, & ME: JUST KEEP COMMITTING THE SAME ADULTRY SIN & JUST KEEP ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS: THAT IS OK. BECAUSE I DO NT REALLY MEAN WHAT I SAID: THAT IS WHY I ASKED NICELY & SAID PLEASE: BECAUSE LOYALTY & COMMITTMENT IS REALLY JUST AN OPTION. OH BYE THE WAY DO NOT USE ANY PROTECTION WHEN CHEATING ON YOUR SPOUSE: SO YOU CAN ALSO BRING HOME SOME DISEASES.
Charlene Smith BLACK PEOPLE INVENTED COUNTRY MUSIC: SO ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE A LITTLE COUNTRY LIKE: DEFORD BAILEY, RUFUS "TEETOT" PAYNE, LESLEY RIDDLE, CHARLEY PRIDE, RAY CHARLES, LAMELLE PRINCE, LINDA MARTELL, POINTER SISTERS, LIONEL RICHIE ALL HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO COUNTRY MUSIC. BLACKS SLAVES BROUGHT: 1. GUITARS, 2. DRUMS, 3. BANJOS, 4. COUNTRY MUSIC TO USA FROM AFRICA: BUT RACISTS WHITE WASHED COUNTRY MUSIC & STOLE IT FROM BLACK PEOPLE LEARN YOUR DAMN HISTORY & YOU WOULD NOT EVER SAY ANY BLACK PERSON IS NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY THE COUNTRY MUSIC OUR ANCESTORS BROUGHT TO USA. TIRED OF RACIST. Republicans are re-writing the 10th commandment by complaining about Beyoncé version of Jolene. So the Bible the Republicans care so much about means NOTHING & GOD MEANS NOTHING TO THEM.
According to Megyn Kelly & all the MAGA FOLKS ON THE RIGHT GOD SHOULD HAVE SAID:
"PLEASE DO NOT COVET ANOTHER PERSON'S SPOUSE: BUT IF YOU DO HAVE UNPROTRCTED SEX WITH A BUNCH OF PORN STARS LIKE STORMY DANIELS OR PROSTITUTES: THAT IS OK BECAUSE I AM GIVING YOU LICENSE TO CHEAT CAUSE I REALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY NOR DO I MEAN WHAT I SAY."
THE REAL COMMANDMENT SAYS:
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house . . . your neighbor’s spouse . . . nor anything that is your neighbor’s” (Exodus 20:17). The 10th Commandment.
Dolly Parton gave Beyonce permission to remake Jolene: so nobody should be complaining about it: especially Megyn Kelly who is on her second marriage: unless she wants her husband whoring around on her with a porn star like Stormy Daniel's. What is wrong with saying no I do not want my husband cheating on me: because I personally would have a problem with that. What idiot wants to give their spouse a "DONALD TRUMP UNPROTECTED, UNSAFE SEX, MAGA LICENSE TO CHEAT WITH PORN STARS & PROSTITUTES LIKE WHAT MEGYN KELLY IS DOING & SUGGESTING. DOLLY WAS POLITE PLEASE DON'T CHEAT BACK IN THE 1960'S WELL Beyoncé IS WORTH A BILLION DOLLARS SHE IS SAYING DON'T CHEAT PERIOD NO PLEASE IN THEIR CAUSE YOU & YOUR GIRLFRIEND GOING TO HAVE A BILLION DOLLAR PROBLEM.
Instead of saying please don't cheat Beyonce is saying DONT TRY IT: DONT CHEAT. I AINT GONNA STAND FOR IT. What idiot wants to give their husband a license to CHEAT LIKE WHAT MEGYN KELLY IS DOING. IS THE RIGHT CONSERVATIVE FOLKS ALL WANT THE SPOUSES SLEEPING WITH PORN STARS & PROSTITUTES WITH NO CONDOMS: WHILE THEY BLINDLY TRUST THEIR MATES LIKE MELANIA TRUSTED DONALD TRUMP. DONALD TRUMP WAS BANGING A PORN STAR: WHEN MELANIA WAS GIVING BIRTH TO BARRON: WHAT IS WRONG WITH SAYING "CHEATING ON ME IS NOT OK." DO YOU WANT YOUR WIFE CHEATING ON YOU: ARE YOU GIVING YOUR WIFE A POLITE LICENSE TO CHEAT?

Inside the ‘Wire Center’ That Connected Manhattan to the World
Hundreds of thousands of wires once serviced 200,000 landlines. This is the building where it all happened.
Charley LockeSep 27, 2016 7:00 AM
Back in the days when people used landline telephones strung together with copper wire, most calls into lower Manhattan passed through a 31-story art deco building at 140 West Street.
Behind its gilded doors lay the cables and switches that connected landlines throughout southwest Manhattan. Just a handful of people work there today, and much of the building is being converted to condos. But the copper wire remains. "You’d never guess in 100 years that behind that door is a telephone vault," says Christopher Payne.
Payne is fascinated by obsolete technology and outdated factories. He's photographed the last operating textile mill in New England and documents outdated mnemonic telephone codes for fun. So of course he'd take a look at Verizon's wire room in Manhattan. "I had always wondered what was inside these buildings," he says. "They're stunning."
In the heyday of copper landlines, Verizon employees worked on every floor of the building, which was designed for AT&T in 1927. Copper cables connected 200,000 telephones throughout lower Manhattan. But Verizon embraced fiber optic cables in 2001, and today copper lines maintained by just 15 people connect 46,000 landlines. Verizon sold everything above the 10th floor to a real estate developer two years ago.
Payne spent two days there in July. "I was like a kid in a candy store, especially with the older wiring," he says. "They still have cable lacing! That’s a real long-lost electrician’s thing. It’s beautiful to see." Although the building is quiet, the grand architecture and ornate design is a reminder of the enormous scale of the technology it once housed. (end of article)

would love your country music recs!! been trying to get into the genre but haven’t really listened to a whole bunch and would love some suggestions <33
YAY thnk u for reaching out. um most of these artists i havent trawled their entire discog but each has some things i really really love. many of them explore serious topics such as addiction, discrimination (racism, homophobia, sexism, classism, etc), and more (like a lot of less commercialized and more traditional country music does).
its important to note that there is a lot of crossover in country, soul, blues, americana, and folk, so some artists might be more leaning to one of the other genres but their relation to the country style compels me to include them.
i will also say that afaik these are mostly modern artists because nothing makes me fucking angrier than people saying that new country music isnt good. please pull yourself out of the country billboard top 100 for the love of god.
ok here it is: > yola (one of my faves, lots of crossover with soul in her style) > brandi carlile, maren morris, natalie hemby, and amanda shires are all good individually and are part of a collective called the highwomen (theyve collaborated with yola several times!) > robert finley (i could cry with how much i love his work, sharecropper's son 2021 is just fucking. perfect) > john fullbright > rhiannon giddens > gillian welch > shakey graves > charley crockett (his work all feels so fresh and unique to me, i never get sick of it) > courtney marie andrews > brown bird (one half of this duo has passed on so they havent made any new music since then, but i still suggest checking them out) > mary gauthier (drag queens in limousines is a total classic) > the war and treaty > sturgill simpson > allison russell > paul cauthen (he's collabed with orville peck, who im sure a lot of people here know! if not i rec him too ofc) > emily nenni > john r miller > lucette (shes had work produced by sturgill simpson iirc) > the secret sisters (very dear to me) > katie pruitt > shovels & rope (<3) > parker millsap > margo price ( i love her i love her i love her i love her what can i say. thats how rumors get started 2020 changed my life) > kaia kater > robert ellis (less familiar w him but i like what ive heard) > jaime wyatt > arlo mckinley (another artist i havent checked out extensively but ive heard good songs from him and like his voice) > the chicks (forever and ever <333333333) > amythyst kiah > mercy bell > justin townes earle (who has unfortunately passed away in recent years, i think 2020) > waylon payne > the devil makes three > evil > jason isbell and the 400 unit
i also dont want you to think i dont want people to listen to classics, i do. i love classic country music — if you havent checked them out, id especially recommend john denver, charley pride, dolly parton, willie nelson, hank williams, johnny cash, the carter family, glen campbell, kitty wells, robert johnson (hes blues, but hes mississipean blues and has influenced country music through and through), patsy cline, judy collins, waylon jennings, and marty robbins.
this isnt comprehensive but its what comes to mind right now. i hope it was helpful!!! <3
