Social media, Tumblr included, is seriously a cancer. As much as I'd love to sit here and tear it down, that would be a waste of time. Here are 10 songs instead (with pointless commentary).
Enjoy if you are not John Lennon.
Take The Box - Amy Winehouse
youtube
Amy Winehouse z"l is such a treasure. I listened to Frank over and over this week, almost like it'd bring her back. It didn't.
2. In a Silent Way - Miles Davis
youtube
The moment the snow disappears and the stars are visible, I'm going up to Lake Isabel to play this all throughout the night.
3. Non-Stop Dancing - The Stylers
youtube
One of many excellent tracks I found on the ultradiskopanorama channel.
4. You're Not Good Enough - Blood Orange/Devonte Hynes/Whatever that chaser wants to call himself
youtube
I introduced a classmate to Blood Orange back in grade 11, and I have regretted it ever since. Why, you may ask? I don't know! I don't even like Blood Orange anymore.
5. Mona - Ian Dury and The Blockheads
youtube
These guys are fire. Too fire actually. They've enslaved me to this sick tune.
6. Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats
youtube
You can't reasonably stay mad while playing this.
7. The Future - Leonard Cohen
youtube
I really used to hate Leonard Cohen (for the stupidest reasons, I might add). Thankfully, I've grown up and constantly hear this in the back of my head.
8. Pink Triangle - Weezer
youtube
Skill issue. Just take the estrogen, Weez-Man.
9. Ænema - TOOL
youtube
This is nothing like what Sleep has put out, but it keeps on making me think of Volume One. Weird.
10. Keep It Up - The Boomtown Rats
youtube
Probably my top song this week. I am upset.

If I had a nickel for every time in my life I have had cause to laugh hysterically at an early 80s BBC TV programme showing someone with a mask fully obscuring their face dancing in front of a blank background, I'd have two nickels.

Ian Dury and the Blockheads? Thoughts on those guys?
(Reasons to be cheerful, part three!)
Brilliant band, brilliant energy, and all around BRILLIANT singer!
Ian Dury was a wonderful man and did a lot of good for the disabled community. Truly he was punk as fuck and I 'ave nothin' but respect for 'em (Also very nice song choice, one of m'faves).
